Katy (1/5): Bad experience. - The resort itself is gorgeous I've been there once before just for the day and I had a great time I had heard nothing but good reviews about this place but I had a horrible experience I had booked a reservation months in advance drove all the way out to Mount Princeton got there to find out they had giving away my room and they were having water issues so they didn't have another room for us besides a crappy room that we did not pay for so we ended up having to just cancel our entire reservation and drive three and a half hours back home because there was nothing they could do for us it was really shitty and I have never experienced bad service like that before. They then told us WE had to figure out how to get our money back for the room through what we booked it from instead of them doing it and then we had to go and find a whole new hotel back in Denver. I was not at all please or happy with how this turned out.

Rachel (10/5): Wonderful scenic place with super warm water - Stunning location and the water is amazingly warm. It was Mothers Day weekend when we visited so really busy but the resort coped with this well. If you don’t have kids make sure to use the changing facilities on the spa side of the bridge across the river. Nothing! Oh yes - no swimwear spinner on the family change side (and we were dashing back to Denver International so flying with soggy swimmers - not so great!).

TedC1036 (2/5): Horrible service no privacy in expensive overpriced rooms - Our experience was completely ruined by an extremely unprofessional front desk employee named Joey. We were wrongly charged for a robe that we had already returned to the spa after spending a significant amount of money, and instead of addressing the issue like a professional, he immediately became argumentative and raised his voice. When I tried to explain the situation, he told me to “watch my tone,” and then began to berate me as if we had done something wrong then refused to remove the charge which was completely inappropriate considering we were the ones being overcharged and trying to resolve it calmly and explain while he just repeated himself over and over. I told him this needs to be fixed or id be writing this review he said go ahead he doesn't care not his business. His behavior only got worse from there. He was rude, dismissive, and clearly incapable of handling even a basic customer service situation. When we asked to speak to a manager, he refused, threw his hands up, and walked away from the counter to hide in the back rather than take responsibility or help resolve the issue. That level of disrespect, lack of accountability, and complete avoidance is unacceptable, especially from someone working at the front desk. I told him this needs to be This was not an isolated incident either. He had also checked us in earlier and was just as short, rude, and unwelcoming for no reason at all. It immediately set a negative tone for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend for our family of five. There was absolutely no effort to provide a welcoming or professional experience at any point during our interactions with him. On top of that, the room we were placed in #66 had almost no privacy. The door had only a tinted window that could easily be seen through, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. For a hotel charging the kind of rates they do, this is completely unacceptable and far below standard. As someone with years of experience in the hotel industry, I can confidently say this level of service is unacceptable. His attitude, appearance, and complete lack of basic manners reflect poorly on the entire property. Quite frankly, Joey needs an attitude adjustment and should not be in a position of authority or dealing directly with guests. The only reason this situation was resolved at all was because Evelyn stepped in and handled it properly. She was professional, respectful, and actually did her job. Thank you, Evelyn, for stepping up and taking care of the issue when no one else would. Management seriously needs to address this. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated, and significant improvements in customer service are clearly needed.

A couple people were “having bad days” as that’s what it appeared. One at the front desk and a guy that cleaned the rooms. But everyone else was great! Our room was a little dirty. Stains on the bedding, dirty carpet. No place to put our stuff in the room/no furniture.

Jessica (6/5): This is an experience. - The hot springs were hot. This is definitely a place to go and hang out and relax. There was an area for 14 and up only and several other areas for everyone. Buena Vista is close and has some good places to eat. There are walking trails right by the hotel. The scenery is amazing. The staff were helpful. The pizza/convenience store could expand their hours. There are lap lanes but, no one enforces lanes. I requested rooms close together but, we were in separate buildings. The dining area was by reservation only.

We brought in snacks and drinks which was great. The beds were comfortable, and the cabin was a perfect size for all of us.

She did a great job explaining the moves and technique for a super enjoyable class, even for my 78 year old mother. Dawn asked the entire class where they were from and was engaging. She also talked about the local weather and climate, which prompted my mother to later comment, "This place really is one of the most beautiful places ever!" Shout out to Mt. Vacation15974010116 (2/5): Use Caution this place is a very rude accident waiting to happen - I visited Mt Princeton Hot Springs Resort expecting a relaxing day, but what I encountered was frustrating, misleading, and frankly unsafe. First, pricing is completely misleading, we were charged $35 senior rate for the lower pool. However there appears to be an additional 20 dollar fee if you want to use the above adult spa pool.there is no signage or mention on the web site or lobby and staff could not show us where that policy is posted anywhere. There is no clear explanation for the additional charge. We chose the lower pool because the upper pool was overcrowded with a senior aerobics class. Although I thought the price issue should have been addressed, I decided to let it go because it is pretty much in keeping with other local resorts. Parking was nearly nonexistent. We were forced to park at the top lot and walk down a narrow path and stairs with NO handrails. As a disabled military veteran with mobility issues, this was not just inconvenient—it was unsafe. Although I went slow and did my best to maintain my balance i still fell several times trying to navigate the stairs even with assistance of my brother. They simply need a more accessable route . The cost of installing required handrails is minimal considering the volume of business this resort does. The steep stairway leading from the path into the lobby appears to be the ONLY entrance and exit, and it is a high-traffic area. By standard building codes (such as the International Building Code adopted in Colorado), stairways serving public spaces are generally required to be at least 36 inches wide, and this one clearly does not meet that standard. In addition, there were no clearly visible fire exit or evacuation route signs, which raises serious safety concerns. Upon reaching the lobby I stated to the staff at the counter that they should install handrails as it is difficult for people with mobility issues to navigate the path with no handrails the response was a shrug of the shoulders and "ya I know" nothing more. After about 30 minutes, we decided to try the upper pools once the crowd thinned out. Again, the only access was via a narrow path—still no handrails anywhere. After entering and spending about 10 minutes in the water, we were approached by very rude pool attendant who marched out as is she were on a mission to remove anyone she could from the pool. There was no excuse me, no politeness, no apology none of that, just a " you have the wrong wristband i need you to leave or pay an additional $20 to use this pool. Here’s the problem: This extra fee is NOT listed on the website There are NO visible signs Even staff couldn’t clearly point out where this policy was posted and although they knew the policy, neglected to inform us of any additional charge when we asked if the path was the only route to the spa pool. When I asked, “Where does it say anywhere there’s an added charge for this pool? I’m not paying another dime I then explained my mobility issues explaining again that I felt the path was too difficult for me to navigate for no apparent reason other than her unnecessary attempt to swindle an additional $20. I expressed my frustration with her rude attitude and the safety concerns I had and explained that I will be leaving a review” the staff member responded:“We review guests as well, so go ahead and leave your review.” That level of unprofessionalism says everything. In addition to the lack of customer service and discrepancies with pricing it is also important to address my initial concern which is that the facility raises serious ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) concerns. Public facilities are required to provide accessible routes for individuals with disabilities. The lack of handrails on stairs, combined with what appears to be the absence of any accessible route to key areas, may fall short of the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, which require safe, usable access and proper handrails where elevation changes occur. Finally, it’s very telling that management seems to respond only to glowing 5-star reviews while ignoring legitimate concerns. You may notice on trip advisor, yelp and Google reviews that every single 5 star review is addressed but there is not a single response to 1 star reviews. More concerning is that safety issues are being addressed with not a care in the world about a guest potentially becoming seriously injured. That suggests this resort is more focused on protecting its image and taking your money than addressing real issues affecting guests. Between misleading pricing, poor accessibility, unsafe conditions, and extremely rude staff, I will not be returning—and I strongly caution others, especially anyone with mobility challenges. For anyone else considering visiting, I might suggest the Cottonwood Hot Springs where we eventually ended up, a bit rustic but still great service. Because the staff at Princeton takes such a lackadaisical approach to customer complaints and shows absolutely no regard for safety or any type of customer service, I have also contacted the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Chaffee County Building Department, the ADA and the Colorado Civil Rights Division. I feel that just a little common courtesy, an acknowledgement of my concerns and just a hint of customer service could have prevented me going this route but since there seems to be no other option to get this resolved, I took this action instead.

Overall, the resort is fantastic. This was our second visit, and once again it was the perfect spot for a larger group of friends. Between the beautiful views, relaxing water, and cozy cabins, it’s a place we’d highly recommend and look forward to returning to.

The hot springs are nice and the location is unbeatable. That said, the creekside cabins door — you could see right through it (no shade) and the reflective film they have on them doesn’t work…so we had to close a towel in our door every night 😂 also wasn’t the cleanest and only provided one towel for 3 people. Overall, less luxury or spa experience, more causal hang by the pool fun which ended up being fun, just wasn’t what we were sold on.

Very serene and relaxing! Plus, the water-exercise class TRISH teaches is really invigorating. We love Trish. Just the right amount of fun and workout! And great music too. Also, when you need a break from the sun, there's an indoor lounge area with comfy chairs and a double sided fireplace, and a juice bar that also has adult drinks.

Once I arrived I was told the room wouldn’t be ready for 4 more hours. The beds were hard, sink didn’t drain in the room, could hear everything in the rooms attached. Just expected more for the reviews I had seen. Everyone checking in at the same time made a giant cluster at the front desk.

The views are breathtaking and the hot springs are very enjoyable. We also had such a great water yoga class with Sandie to start our morning and would recommend to any yoga enthusiasts. A basic cabin in a a beautiful setting, with a price tag that is anything but basic - The resort is set a stunning landscape and surrounded in a beautiful nature all around it. Hot springs in wintertime is a lot of fun. There were no meals included or even booked. When we arrived and tried to make a dinner reservation at the resort’s restaurant, they were already fully booked and could not accommodate us. We ended up shopping for groceries in what was essentially a souvenir shop, which offered only a very limited selection of expensive dry goods and no fresh fruits or vegetables. If you come, make sure to stop at a grocery store beforehand and BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. At breakfast in our cabin, we discovered that the microwave wasn’t working and that there was no frying pan, so we couldn’t even make an omelet. To their credit, maintenance fixed the microwave quickly after we called reception. The pillows were worn out and uncomfortable, so nobody got a good night’s sleep. The changing room next to the springs dated and crowded, and also did not have a blow dryer—an essential in cold mountain weather. I had signed up for a waitlist for a different type of accommodation, which ended up being unavailable, but nobody contacted us to let us know or to suggest an alternative. Ultimately, I did not feel that anyone cared about whether we had a good experience.
Toni (6/5): It was an ok stay, but not worth what we paid. - It is always a nice scenic drive to get to the location. I just did not feel like what we got was worth what we paid. It should have come with a free meal and drinks of some sort. We had to ask for bedding for the pullout sofa. And that mattress was quite dirty so my son ended up just sleeping with the couch closed which was not the most comfortable for him. Two drinks were $36 so that was shocking. Hot springs were overcrowded so not many places to relax. Many lounge chairs were broken so not enough to go around.

Charles (10/5): I want to go back - I enjoyed the peace and tranquility everything was fairly close to my cabin. The staff was helpful and friendly when I had any sort of question. During the interview I wasn't particularly fond of how the occupied cabin next to me parked in several different spots and eventually parked in mine and acted those okay but that was nothing to do with the resort itself.

Our allergies killed us and saw other guests with large dogs. Also, at closing, u was really sick after getting out of the springs, I really needed a Gatorade but the young girl had already closed her cash register. In that case, it would have really been nice for her to just give me one. I went to the front desk and they were very helpful. Unfortunately, they did not have Gatorade but the restraunt and bar went out of their way to give me what they had-juice and soda at no charge.

E1256VEmissyb (10/5): Yoga Class Zen - My friends and I attended Sandie’s water yoga class during our recent stay at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort. What a splendid way to start the day! Her music set started your day out so happy and upbeat, the exercises were just the perfect way to get your body moving and fit and her spirit shone through with optimism and kindness. Not only do you get a wonderful exercise class, but you also get a wonderful way of looking at life from her insights of wisdom which give you a new perspective of looking at ways to be grounded or connected with happiness along life’s journey. She was also very kind to give me helpful insights on a knee injury I have which were priceless in helping me while recovering from the injury. What an asset Sandie is to the resort!

We were next to the maintenance room ands every 5 minutes a loud motor and then an abrupt turn off!! All day and night. People next door, hear everything!!! It was good to relax at the hot springs, but then go to your room to not sleep! Don’t expect coffee from your room and check headboards, dirty. What was supposed to be a romantic, fun getaway, turned into no sleep and just needed to get home. Told from desk while checking out, complimented 2 cups of coffee 🤷🏻‍♀️

KLwrites (10/5): Beautiful setting, fun and unique experience. - We stayed a night at Mount Princeton Hot Springs on our drive back to Colorado Springs after a couple days of skiing in Crested Butte. Our Creekside King was roomy, modern, and nicely laid out with a fireplace and view of the creek (really nice bathroom too). The check-in process for our room was slow and painful, but everything else about our stay was wonderful. After getting settled in, we spent a couple hours hopping from one hot spring pool to another. Be sure to experience the pools alongside the river -- spending time lounging there in the evening was a highlight. Another highlight was seeing so many stars at night. It's been years since I've been somewhere dark enough to see the little dipper. Nice bar on site and dinner at Mary Murphy's was enjoyable as well.

We used all of the amenities. In particular, we went to aqua fun at the relaxation pool. There we met Sandy beaches this awesome instructor from Ireland who was the awkward fun teacher. Thank you Sandy for a great refreshing class.

The hot springs them selves were amazing. We came with our 3 children and loved soaking in all the pools, the variety was great, and the views from the infinity pool amazing! You can even sit in natural pools along the river! The restaurant in Lodge was delicious and staff was very nice and friendly. They have so many complimentary benefits, cross-country ski rental, fat bikes, fitness classes. We wish we had booked for longer.

377jenj (10/5): Fantastic Mid-week Visit to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs - We had a fantastic couple of days at Mt. Princeton this last week. We loved our Creekside Suite which had an efficiency kitchen we could cook breakfast in. It was so lovely to sit on the deck and listen to Chalk Creek. We also had wonderful hot stone massages at the spa. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Mary Murphy’s steak house. We also participated in two fitness classes that were both wonderful. On Thursday we went to Trish’s Aqua Mobility and on Friday we went to Sandie’s Water Yoga. Both classes were fun and combined fitness with relaxation, great music and a sense of community. Highly recommend visiting , especially when you can get a deal on the creek side Suites and the river is low enough to soak by the river!
Explore26461452908 (2/5): Worst Spa Experience - The worst spa experience of my life. When I arrive no one is at front desk. I wait for over 10 minutes for someone to greet me. I’m now rushing to fill out paperwork and get my robe. Massage was first and went well. After waiting for my facial to start they inform me my facial was canceled. Later they informed me the esthetician called in and nobody wanted to come in for just one facial. They apologized and said they’d do something nice for me to makeup for it but nothing came. Nothing. I called back 4 times to follow up and every time I was forgotten and ignored. They still haven’t reached out to make it right and I’m sick of following up. At this point I’m giving the one star on all the platforms I can to maybe get this resolved. 0/10 experience. 0/10 customer service. I’ve worked in spas for 10+ years as a service provider myself to be treated like this is downright sad.
