Tessa (10/5): Great stay - Purpose of the trip was a one night stay for a concert at NRG. Hotel staff allowed us to check in a little early so that we could change and get ready for the show. Room was clean and updated. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet with no issues. Great stay.

Also the receptionist that checked me in didn't take the time find my paid reservation. I was so embarrassed because he kept telling me he didn't see it and call booking for clarity.

My current stay at the Townplace Suites at 5135 South Rice Avenue has been the best hotel experience I have ever had! Last year, I switched hotels after 3 days for problem too numerous to go into here. Here is what has gone right with your property! First, Wendy Ibarra emailed me an introduction, thanking me for my reservation and let me know to contact here with any questions or problems. That was deeply appreciated! The room is fantastic. First of all, your air conditioning units are beasts with the cool air. As hot as Houston is, this is really appreciated! Second, I am on my computer quite a bit and appreciate the desk layout. The way I can set up my clipboard and spiral notebook is great! Third, your staff kept me well supplied in the kitchen. I really appreciated the can opener-I was able to eat my daily can of vegetables because of it! Fourth, in my previous visits, I was left to my own devices in tossing out trash and freshening up my bed. Yamila has been by 3 times since I’ve been here to freshen up my room, replace towels and sheets and take out the trash. She even organized my books on the night stand! I especially appreciated the info card that told me how to tip Yamila-you take care of your employees! During my stay at your property, I noticed how the housekeeping and maintenance staff were always working. Very impressive. Finally, at previous stays, they had to standard continental breakfast. You brought the good stuff-eggs, waffles, sausage-love it! I’ve expressed my appreciation to Marisol Gallardo, Felecia Murray and Wendy Ibarra, By all means-pass the email on to them! Salman (5/5): Good, if you never open the sofa bed. - Location and cleanliness. The room was too small to have the sofabed and the king bed. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and it felt like sleeping directly on rods and springs.
tonyahV9379ZN (2/5): Dirty, dirty, dirty - Dirty! You can scrap food gunk of all kitchen cabinet handles. The housekeepers aren’t doing there job and the ones getting paid to check each room once their done are not doing their job. I will not stay in this dirty place again. I don’t know that anything in that room is ever wiped down.
Darlene (4/5): - Location was convenient and my room was clean with enough towels and bedding. However, the AC in the gym was not working so it was ridiculous to try to work out in it. Also, the reservation clerks were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Not a place I would choose to stay in again.

E7758XFjenniferr (2/5): Give this TownePlace Suites a pass - Give this TownePlace Suites a pass. It is outdated and banged up, and everything is just a little dingy and depressing. The staff I interacted with during my stay were not very pleasant and oddly inflexible about a few things I've never experienced in a hotel. There is nothing terrible about this hotel, but you can do much better for the price.

Jeff (9/5): Superb - Good location. Originally wanted closer to downtown, but in the end found this to be more convenient to get to attractions plus having Wal-Mart next door meant that it was easy to get groceries and meals Nothing in particular

David (10/5): - Hotel was clean and well maintained. I was impressed they had two gas grills to use by the pool. Area around the Hotel was quiet and very safe. There was a decent selection of fast-food restaurants (mostly chicken places) with one really good burger joint that had been there for over 40 years and a Wal-Mart walking distance from the hotel. However, there are no sports bars in walking distance from the hotel. There were some a few miles away but I was visiting and did not rent a car so I used Lyft to get everywhere. It would have been nice if there was a place to get a beer nearby.

R3896XWelir (4/5): Old and dates Marriott that leaves much to be desired. - This old Marriott has carpet tears, stains, and room freshener to cover its years of use. It is next to a highway and in a Walmart parking lot, so consider that for what it's worth. The front desk staff seemed oddly combative and unfriendly. Maybe they don't like it there either? I suggest going elsewhere, which is up to Marriott's typical standards.

Maryna (8/5): - It’s a decent hotel for a $70-80/night but for $350 for two nights is a bit too old. It was very cold on the nights we stayed, and the heat settings didn’t work, but there was an extra blanket in the room and the stuff responded fast to the request to fix the heater/AC. Otherwise, it was clean and the stuff was nice and accommodating.

Susan (8/5): The room was clean and had everything I needed. Location was great. - The location worked well for what I needed. The price was great and loved staying in a suite. It was perfect for my needs. A lot of homeless population out and about. But there were no issues or any with any of them.
Jenn (10/5): - Great location. Walmart is right behind the hotel in walking distance if you need anything. Breakfast was ok. They had only one waffle maker and no syrup. We just used honey. But other than that, the stay was great. The staff was very nice. The beds were comfortable and clean. I would stay again.

Guajardo (1/5): I didn’t have a stay, they didn’t communicate and gave my room away and stole my money. - They gave my room away, I messaged them on booking.com to let them know. They never got back to me so when I went to check in the following morning they gave the room away told me and I missed check in and told me I couldn’t get my money back. They were booked when I asked and the lady at the front was blunt. She wasn’t helpful in anyway and gave me single word responses.
