- JUAN RAMON (7/5): -
- Joanna (10/5): Great location, nice staff, good breakfast :) - Close to the old town, close to metro station and luggage storage, clean, good breakfast, nice staff
- Luca (10/5): -
- Neil (8/5): - Everything else. AC on the top floor did not work well. We had to open windows at night, and the traffic going through the tunnel kept us awake.
- Çağıl (6/5): - Location is good but in front of the tunnel so room is very noisy. Also, they let us to keep our lugguges for a couple of hours. Air conditioning was never sufficent. During summer can be a problem, very noisy environment , windows do not help to cancel the noise. No elevator in the building and shower is too small not the bathroom.
- Barton (8/5): -
- Anne Cristina Vieira (5/5): - O quarto é muito bom. Cama confortável e tudo muito limpo. Localização muito boa. Uma quadra do rio. Não tem tv no quarto. Para mim é um problema. O barulho é muito. Um horror. O local é quase dentro do túnel. Muita buzina.
- Sephora (10/5): -
- Kate (10/5): - Great location. Very comfortable. Was near loud road and tunnel - not too bad over night though.
- Rafael (10/5): -
- Patricia (2/5): HORRENDOUS STREET NOISE! NO envelope was waiting for me at check-in as had been indicated in message. - General location. HORRENDOUS STREET NOISE!
NON-STOP blaring horns, ambulance sirens, roaring trucks, and motorcycles gunning it. Street seems to be some kind of drag strip with no local enforcement. Noise is bad even with windows and shutters closed tight (bring ear plugs). If noise bothers you this IS NOT the place for you.
9 flights of stairs to climb if assigned one of the upper units. This should be clearer in BOOKING.com listings.
Tiny nicely designed room.
Kitchen is TOO MINIMALLY stocked. It needs a small cutting board, whisk, ice cube tray, and spatula at the least. No instructions for microwave or fan so I could not get them to function and could not use them.
- Valeriia (9/5): -
- Andrew (3/5): Breakfast and service was good. - The breakfast 1. Ac was broken the entire time and no one fixed it.
2. We were on the top floor and no elevator. (93+ steps)
3. If you are 300 pounds, you wont be able to shower (very small)
4. Windows are paper thin and you are next to a tunnel which makes all the noise in the world.
- Marion (10/5): - Zentrale Lage, gute Ausstattung des Zimmers, gutes Frühstück!
- Diane (9/5): Fabulous sized room close to the river, shopping district and the Porto cathedral. - The position of the property was so close to the shops , river and bridge . Easy to walk to places The room faces onto an extremely busy and noisy road . Luckily overnight the noise calmed down
- Sarah (4/5): Great location but disappointing - The property is in a great location! Upon arrival, I had booked a room with a double bed. I arrived to be placed in a room with twin beds pushed together. The location couldn’t have been better, however there was no mention in any review of the extreme noise during the night, inclusive of someone doing building works into the night, either in the same property or a neighbouring property. I had difficulty accessing the building via the PIN code provided. As a result, I booked a room in another hotel for the second night of my stay.
- Manuela (8/5): -
- JD (10/5): - Newly renovated! Street noise was loud at night.
- Madeleine (10/5): An enjoyable stay immersed in city life - Great location, great finish on apartments, very well presented in restored building in centre of town. you could cook in apartment although kitchen electric hob did not work great however you could have breakfast in the coffee shop on ground floor which was inexpensive. Take note you are in centre of town near tunnel and can hear hussle and bustle of city life - the place is buzzing. We were on top floor and no lift so maybe request a lower floor if you have any health issues.
- TATIANA (1/5): -
- Anu (9/5): Yöpyisin uudestaan! - Huone oli idyllinen ja mukava kooltaan
Alakerran kahvilan aamiainen ja tuotteet olivat hyviä
Sijainti erinomainen
- Damian (10/5): - Lovely studio apartment. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic location near the river and restaurants. Lovely cafe downstairs for coffee and snacks Sound of traffic and hooting in the tunnel nearby - usual city traffic and noise.
- Brenda (8/5): Comfortable - It was a a lovely quaint guesthouse.this was our first trip to Portugal the accomodations were comfortable it was decorated nicely, there are only 2 rooms per floor as we were traveling with family this was nice The location was very convenient so close to shops and restaurants. We did not do our research so our fault for not realizing there were no elevators.
Again no fault of the guesthouse we found the traffic noise did not stop.
The showers are very small, compared to what we are used to in North America.
- Sandy (10/5): I loved the place - The place, localization I had a big luggage and there is not elevator, but that’s the concepto, without elevator, just I think it’s important to let the people know
- Palmer (10/5): A lovely, safe and convenient stay with very kind staff. Location tends to be loud due to proximity to tunnel and road b - Location & access to delicious cafe downstairs. Room was beautiful, stylish and clean. Lovely hot shower as well! Kind staff, amazingly helpful! Loud cars and motorcycles existing the tunnel, it was extremely loud, even on the 4th floor.
- Stefan (8/5): -
- William (10/5): Our second stay in 5 years, would certainly go back when we visit Porto on holiday - Rooms are very comfortable and an excellent breakfast Servicing of the rooms is by request, which is fine if you know!
- Stephanie (10/5): - Loved staying here. The hotel is located in a busy street but great area. Very close to the water and the Ponte Luiz 1. The front desk (Fernando) was great and super patient with me. He even helped me book a bus ride to my next destination.
The room was super pretty and had a fridge and sink. Only not so fun part was not having an elevator but all was good because my friend and I showed off our strength when we had to leave. 5 stars for this place.
- Dawn (10/5): - Nice hotel, friendly staff, good location to visit waterfront area of Porto.
It is near a major road and it can be noisy.
- Filip (10/5): - Great apartment with a good cafe downstairs.
- Melissa (6/5): Cool, trendy flat - Convenient location The breakfast staff were very grumpy
- Kari (10/5): - Great location. Short walk to waterfront. Lots of space in room.Coffee shop downstairs was great for breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again
- Lori (10/5): - Very nice location.
- Dragan (10/5): Odličan - Lokacija odlična. Odličan i predusretljiv domaćin.
- Sian (10/5): Great Porto accommodation - I loved my stay here. The room was clean and cosy, with a cute little window seat. I don’t mind traffic noise so that didn’t bother me. Bathroom was a bit of a tight squeeze, but if that’s the worst I can say it’s a pretty good sign. Bed and linen were comfortable and yes there are stairs, but again if you know in advance you can plan accordingly. I found the staff to be super friendly and the surrounding area couldn’t be better for a Porto visit!
- DEBRA (10/5): - The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and substantial. The staff was kind and helpful. Perfect stay!
- Sophie (8/5): Lovely location and historic building - Brilliant location just off the waterfront in the centre of the historic old town of Porto. Beautiful views of the Lois bridge from our balcony and a gorgeous tiled building just over the road - which made the 4 flights of stairs worth it! The old stone inside the rooms was a lovely feature also. Be warned that the property is next to a very busy road and bridge, which made it very noisy early in the morning, so if you’re a light sleeper you may struggle. It was a bit disappointing that the breakfast did not start until 8.30am, as we like to get going early for a city break, because of this we are elsewhere during our stay but if it was earlier we would have opted in for this . Also there was no coffee or tea in the room which was a shame, especially when breakfast doesn’t start until later, it would have been lovely to have a coffee out on the balcony in the mornings. We even asked nicely to buy a takeaway coffee one morning at 8am but were turned away by the staff member who stated breakfast does not start until 8.30am. Adding some of these small gestures would have really made a difference to our stay
- Anita (9/5): Polecam - Przepyszne śniadania i bardzo uprzejma obsługa.
- Dilek (7/5): - Super friendly personell and good breakfast. Spacious room. Super noisy due to the road snd tunnel.
- Sue (10/5): - Beautifully restored property, clean and felt safe. Busy vibrant area near river. Can be a little noisy at night due to passing traffic but didn’t affect sleep. If visiting the city again I would definitely stay here again.
- Mariana (10/5): -
- Jose (10/5): - Cleanliness , Sympathie , Breackfast
- Adrienne (10/5): - The hotel was very cute and well kept. It only has stairs, so keep that in mind that you'll have to carry your luggage up flights of stairs. The room had a little kitchenette with a stove and fridge. The bathroom wad clean with great water pressure. The shower is tiny, so if you are a larger sized person or have mobility issues this may not be the place for you. The hotel is right on a busy/noisy street below. Cars were honking and motorcycles revving late into the night. I had read previous reviews and was prepared with earplugs. But I can and did sleep through anything and had no need for the earplugs. The hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance to most everything. It is also easily accessible to public transportation. I was a solo female traveler. It felt very safe, even returning late at night. It is connected with the cafe next door. The staff could not have been nicer, more attentive, or helpful. They also paid attention to my daily breakfast requests, which was delicious and filling. Would absolutely stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Theresa (10/5): Highly recommended - My Ribieria Guest House is situated in the middle of a World Heritage neighborhood and is a very desirable place to stay. The building has been carefully and tastefully updated with all the modern conveniences except there is no elevator, so take note. The stairs were not a problem for us.
We only had one night in Porto, we so glad we stayed here.
- Elena (9/5): Genial - Muy bien ubicado
Desayunos maravillosos
Atentos
- Cheng (10/5): - Convenient location, very clean, and the staff were nice and friendly. It might be a bit noisy for light sleepers, and since the area is quite crowded, it’s sometimes easier to take a taxi if you walk a bit further away.
- Theodor (9/5): -
- Alexander (10/5): -
- Yexa (3/5): Prestativa - Localização ótima Muito barulho
- Veronika (7/5): -
- Marie-Hélène (7/5): - Très propre La literie
- Alexander (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Excellent location. Very clean. Helpful staff. Highly recommend! - Excellent location. Very clean. Helpful staff. Highly recommend for a couple who don't mind a small bit of street noise.
- Michelle (4/5): - Very noisy at night. We couldn’t sleep. Air conditioning didn’t work properly and we were not made aware that there isn’t an elevator. We were 2 older people who had to climb up 5 flights of stairs.
- Rebecca (9/5): Comfortable stay in great location - Wonderful apartment. Room was super clean and smelt really nice. Check in was easy and bed was comfortable. I highly recommended staying here. Fantastic location also. A super minor thing but having the two single beds pushed together as a double meant that they moved apart in the night. But that is only a problem if you move a lot in your sleep.
- Marucia (8/5): Pretty unit in a noisy street. - So clean, nicely designed and beautiful. It was very noisy due to traffic congestion, car horns, and motorcycles using the nearby Ribeira tunnel.
- Bianca (9/5): - Sehr zentral gelegen.
Leckeres Frühstück.
Kleiner Supermarkt direkt nebenan.
Stilvolles, sauberes Zimmer.
- David (8/5): -
- Gareth (10/5): Great location, pleasant staff. - The guest house is very centrally located in the Ribeira area and the room was spacious, lean and the bed was comfortable. The price was a steal. The staff were very nice to deal with and breakfast was delicious. Excellent coffee. My room was on the third floor and there was no lift so got a bit of exercise in as well. I knew this was the case when I booked so was prepared for it. Because it is central and on a busy street, it is noisy but I felt the location more than made up for that.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Beautiful renovated guesthouse in Porto - We loved the property. We were greeted downstairs by a young gentleman that helped us bring our suitcases all the way to the fourth floor. The room was spacious, super clean and beautiful. We had three gorgeous windows that opened out into a balcony. I loved sitting on the balcony, looking at the people go by. At night we would close all the shutters which made the room very cozy. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was not very big, but it was perfectly comfortable. I appreciated the electric plug in the bathroom, which doesn’t always happen in Europe. I absolutely loved walking downstairs in the morning and having coffee and croissants from the coffee shop. I also loved the location being right next to the bridge and walking up to the best views in the city. I read some reviews about the noise of the motorcycles and traffic at night. I was a little concerned, but we found that shutting all the shutters helped tremendously. We like to eat dinner late and would not get back to the room till midnight. The noise and traffic always died down not long after that and we were always able to sleep.
- Alfonso (8/5): -
- LIMMANONT (9/5): - Clean good place and good location
Good breakfast Bigbike sound after midnight
- Katarzyna (9/5): Perfect for those who aren’t light sleepers - Love the location and interior Motorbikes making a lot if noise all night through aren’t my favs!
- RAMIRO (10/5): - Nothing to complain about. Just the notice that there is no elevator on property should be listed first. Excellent facility for young, healthy people. Well maintained, perfectly located, convenient, walkable, excellent staff
- Magda (10/5): Great location, cafe and staff! - Great location, super close to the river and lots of other attractions.
Amazing staff and cafe right in the hotel.
I loved the stone walls in the room and simple decor! Kitchenette was a bonus but I didn’t use it. Too many great food options around!
Only downfall was the noise from the street but that’s hard to avoid when you are so close to “the action”
I highly recommend this place!
- David (10/5): Most pleasant experience - Close to everything Nothing
- Rebecca (8/5): - Great little cafe with good coffee downstairs
- NJA (7/5): -
- Pamela (10/5): -
- Susanna (8/5): A nice place in a nice area - The room was super nice and the location was perfect, close-by to the river with restaurants and life. Downstairs cafe serves nice breakfast, which is the same place if you have breakfast included.
The bed was very comfortable.
You can go for a morning walk along the river.
Highly recommended. The only downside was that the property is next to a tunnel and apparently people love the sound of their cars inside tunnels so if you’re a light sleeper this might be an issue, otherwise earplugs helped.
- Jessica (6/5): - It’s situated right above the tunnel / road into Porto, so all the cars, motorbikes and traffic noise is right in your room as right below your window. So when you look out it’s like a mini motorway!
The windows would need to be double glazed?
Bathrooms could do with an update.
Breakfast was amazing and staff friendly.
- Tanay (10/5): - Perfect Location, very chic!
- Angela (4/5): Lovely little guesthouse but unfortunately disappointing. - The guesthouse was very clean and nice to have a cafe in the building for morning coffee. Unfortunately disappointing that there was no elevator as we were on the 5th floor. The guesthouse location was nice in the Riberia area but right near the tunnel was aweful with the vehicles, sirens and motorcycles during the night.
- Kate (8/5): - Fabulous position, lovely and comfortable room, super breakfast and no key access to property and room made life easy
Only problem had more to do with our ages and fitness level! We were on 4th floor so 72 steps each time (no lift) Tricky with suitcases.
Small kitchenette had no dish cloth or tea towel, also only one coffee mug + no coffee etc on arrival although we were given coffee, milk and sugar when we asked.
Very enjoyable stay right by the river
- Nikola (10/5): - Beautiful place, everyone is really nice and kind. Feels like a home :)
- Cynaera (10/5): - Great location, and walkable area. Cars/street noise can be loud, but dies down by 11pm. I recommend getting the breakfast option, it was delicious and worth it. Overall, great for the location and price.
- Alexandra (8/5): - Liegt leider an einer lauten Strasse.
- Luis (9/5): -
- Lisbeth (8/5): -
- sharon (5/5): Location good but accommodation not to my liking. - The hosts were very pleasant. The breakfast was lovely and fresh each morning. The location was great. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was located on the 5th floor. There was no lift so we had to climb 92 steps. On arrival there was a guy who helped us carry our cases but leaving the property no we had to struggle with them ourselves. Our fault I should have reviews before booking this accommodation. The windows are not double glazed so the street noise is deafening. The property is right beside a tunnel so the cars, motorbikes zoom in and out. In bedroom 2 the bed is wall to wall so you have to crawl out of it. The shower unit is so small it's hard to wash properly in it and the water pressure is poor. Also I expected out towels to be changed but they weren't.
- Holly (8/5): - Great hospitality. Wonderful breakfast. It was noisy from the motorbikes and the tunnel. It was graduation weekend so that could have been an issue. Otherwise nice place
