- Rupert (8/5): Not deluxe - I booked a deluxe double but wouldn't class our room as deluxe . The wardrobe base had collapsed, the large sash window was held open by a plastic coat hanger & there seemed to be mould in the corner of the ceiling . Staff were friendly & the breakfast was very tasty. The bedroom needs redecorating.

- Simon (8/5): Mislead in Sandwich - The location of the hotel was wonderful; right in the centre of Sandwich. No on site parking but the market car park was only a few minutes walk away. The staff were friendly and efficient and check in was quick and easy. The room was small but clean with a comfortable bed. It took a long time for the hot water to arrive but when it did the shower was good with nice big bath towels. My only complaints were that the wifi was dreadful/non existent and, contrary to their website, no hot breakfast was served only a polystyrene breakfast box left in the room. Had I known this in advance I may have booked alternative accommodation.

- Tamara (8/5): Comfortable, friendly and affordable hotel and pub - A pleasant, town centre hotel. We enjoyed the friendly staff, decent, if somewhat dated, room and lovely food and beverages at reasonable prices in the pub/restaurant. As stated, the room was dated but clean. Only a few issues… The tv was visible from the sofa but not from the bed. Also, it was a Friday night with live music downstairs. Our window looked out over the front door so those hanging around outside were easily heard and did keep us up until after midnight. I knew of this issue ahead of time and was planning on being downstairs and enjoying the music myself, but a migraine sent me to bed early so the music and partying became an issue. However, if you plan on staying up late, you may enjoy it as the pub seemed to have a lovely, fun atmosphere. Can’t complain as the problem was mine. The town of Sandwich was lovely and hope to come again sometime. Would stay here again.

The Folk and Ale festival was on while we were there, so lots going on and live music everywhere 👌 Delicious breakfasts and very comfy beds. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. - A (2/5): Stay elsewhere. - There was a fire exit light in the room, making it too bright to sleep. There was no way to turn it off and we didn’t have sleep masks with us. This needs to be removed or eye masks should be provided. The bathroom was covered in mould. Would not recommend.

The room was tired, overall could do with less, and could do with a little tidy up, some bedside lights. The bathroom could be better presented, the shower leaked, the grouting needed cleaning and the ceiling. But overall was comfortable.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad, not great, just OK - The good: great location nice staff breakfast included in price (although we did not try it) Sandwich was a pleasant surprise. Spacious room cheap-ish (which does not mean good value) The not so good: Lack of attention to detail (only one set of toiletries for two people, incorrect wifi password in the room, lamp disconnected from the mains, shower lever was so stiff I thought I'd break it) Almost non existent noise insulation, so if the pub is expected to be busy there will be noise until closing time. Lastly, worst mattress I have slept on in a while, it was beyond soft
- Amanda (8/5): Nice room, shame about the noise. - I suppose having a room above a pub you should expect noise and yes it was noisy, plus our room overlooked another pub so more noise there! Frustrating also was that the walls were thin and the couple next door were v noisy but that could be just bad luck. Plus the manager was knocking on people’s doors requesting room payment at some point after 10.30pm! On the plus side the room was a good size and the bed comfortable. They also left a basket full of crisps and popcorn which I thought a lovely touch. The breakfast choice was amazing, from fruit pancakes to full English and lots of other choices. Overall not a bad stay just a little noisy.
- pauline (10/5): A Most Enjoyable Stay. - We spent three nights here. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable.Breakfast was well cooked with generous portions. Staff were friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the fact that the hotel is close to the Guildhall where buses to Canterbury, Deal and Ramsgate stop. Also it is a short walk to the railway station. We were really happy with our holiday in The Fleur de Lis.

- Olga (10/5): Lovely Hotel in the middle of Sandwich - A very nice stay with a very good breakfast . The beds were wonderful and the rooms newly tastefully renovated.

- Avoid (4/5): - Avoid. Filthy! The whole room was dirty. The carpet was very dirty and needed a good vacuum, dust on every visible surface. The fan was covered in dust. The air vent black with dust and dirt. Hairs on shower wall and on sink. Whole place was filthy. Breakfast was poor and not included in price as stated. We were the only people taking breakfast but had to wait. Most people breakfasted in the cafe opposite the pub, which we should have done. Our first menu choice couldn’t be accommodated because the chef ran out of the ‘mix’ for pancakes. We ordered poached eggs instead which were overcooked and the toast was cold. The only positive was the young staff members who were very nice. Would not stay again. They didn’t even do the basics. A vacuum, a clean shower and and a dust would be the minimum if charging people for a room.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Good hotel for one night stopover - Good room for a one-night stopover on our way home from somewhere else. Staff were very friendly and beds were comfortable. Our room had the sun on it all afternoon so it wa very hot and we only had one small fan for the three of us. The bathroom was small but functional and clean. The room decor was a bit dated and there were some cobwebs and skirting was dusty so cleanliness could have been better given the current situation.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was old and tired. We ordered a double room but were given a twin and told to push the beds together ourselves. The bathroom was large and spacious but the shower was extremely low pressure and so very difficult to use. On the first morning we waited over an hour and a half for our breakfast meaning we had to change our plans as we missed our intended train. The next day was better but we still waited over 40 minutes for food. We weren’t offered any coffee refills or any juices during our wait. The location of the hotel was great, right in the centre of Sandwich within walking distance of the train station and shops and other pubs.
- Deborah (8/5): Happy customer!! - We only stayed for two days but had a lovely time. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The room was a little tired looking but had a very comfortable bed. The only two negatives would be the noise when the bar had a live band playing and that the toilet was too close to the shower (very difficult to sit on) but overall we were very happy. The breakfast was also very tasty and although there was no parking at the hotel the car park across the street is free overnight.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely place to stay close to Deal. - Lovely place to stay in the centre of Sandwich. There is no car park but there is one nearby that charges from 0900 to 1800. Only drawback was on the day we arrived they were not doing food yet it stated that food is served from 1200 to 2000, however they recommend somewhere to eat.
- David (2/5): Terrible value for money - stay elsewhere! - First, this is not a hotel. it's a pub with rooms and so, at £75 a night it's pricey. My worst fears were confirmed however as soon as I got in the room. The wi-fi refused to work at all, despite the intervention of the hotel staff, and there was no hot water for the shower throughout my stay. In addition, a live band was playing in the bar on Friday night and, although my room was some distance from the bar, the music was so loud it kept me awake until midnight. I sent two e-mails of complaint to the manager, a Mr R Harris, but didn't get a response to either which is why I'm leaving this review. I assume he'll ignore this too! All in all, this place is terrible value for money. Don't stay here unless everywhere else in Sandwich is fully booked and you're desperate!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Breakfast was very good except they had run out of orange juice. Location was central and near everything. We liked the live music too.Nice big window-see picture as this is our room. Unfortunately one of the bedside lights was not working (unlike in the picture! ) and one of the three ceiling lights was not working either. When I was asked if everything was fine when I checked out I mentioned this, only to be told that they could not do anything about it due to loose wires. Surely a competent electrician could sort out a couple pf loose wires?
- Nate (8/5): 👍👍 - Parking is no problem as you can pretty much just park anywhere in town in seems. Locals are really friendly. As were everyone at Fleur.
