Guest Reviews
- Wilson (10/5): Pleasantly surprised about everything. -
- Nattawat (8/5): -
- Tabitha (7/5): Quick and quiet. - I loved the decor and bed in the rooms. The landscaping in front was beautiful. The view from the rooms was pretty. The coffee was good. There wasn’t a morning gathering room. No breakfast offered. Having even a small breakfast helps a person not have to go out so early. The landscape person is not cleaning up all the goose droppings near water. It was difficult to enjoy the chairs and walk with so much around.
- Valerie Sutton (10/5): - Loved it. Very clean, very beautiful. Great beauty.
- Journey618025 (2/5): Horrible experience with staff - Not a stay - Was rear ended on the main road right before this establishment. The other person’s vehicle was seriously damaged and we needed to pull off the busy road where it was unsafe to stay parked. We pulled into this location’s parking lot temporarily to exchange info - and of course make sure everyone was alright, and a gentleman who worked here came out and yelled at us to leave despite our explanation. He was extremely rude and aggressive, and did not care if we were okay or not. I would never want to stay somewhere where staff are so callous and unkind. When you sleep somewhere you trust them with your safety and to be able to handle emergencies with care. This person was really horrible to us in a moment that was already very stressful. Not the Maine way.

- Erwin (9/5): Very nice property and very friendly staff. Good value for the money. - Awesome view from the property. Pool was relaxing . Only coffee service in the morning....no breakfast option.
- Deborah (10/5): A special, cozy overnight stay on our northern Maine/Canada coastal vacation and would visit again! - A hidden gem! Spectacular views, clean, comfortable bedding and the nicest staff! Althought tasty coffee was provided, in a perfect world, I would have loved oat milk or almond milk as an offering as I am dietary restricted.
- Terry (5/5): I was very disappointed with my stay. I - The decor of the room was very nice. The view was amazing. The room looked fine until you looked closer. The bathroom had a layer of dust on the top of the trim. There was hair and dirt along the edges of the floor. The commode lid needed cleaned. There was a dead ant in the corner of the bathroom. There was cob webs hanging from the one piece of art in the room. The room itself had a layer of dust on the top of the chair rail. The tray with the ice bucket had crumbs on it. There was a constant ticking noise from the water pipes.
- Joan (10/5): - Beautiful view, inn is always spotless, and rooms are larger than most others. Lovely hosts. And guys that maintain grounds are the best !
- Dori (9/5): - Wonderful location, beautiful sunrize view from sea side Rolling our laggage down to first floor. No elevator.
- Grant (4/5): I would not recommend or stay there again. We stayed at another hotel near that was much nicer. - Location was great and bed comfortable. No coffee pot in the room and just average coffee in front at 6;30 am.
The soaps and personal supplies were awful (the same as a cheap motel )
No place to sit to read if someone was in the room trying to rest. They look like the had converted the waiting area to staff.
- Wilma (8/5): - I had a noticeable limp when we walked in to register. The desk clerk immediately changed our room from the second floor to the lower level so that I wouldn’t have to use the stairs - without asking - and then came out as we were unloading our luggage to see if we needed any help.
- Gene (10/5): -
- stella-lee (9/5): - The staff was wonderful and personable
- Joanne (10/5): - everything about the inn was great
- Shari (10/5): -
- Arnold (10/5): - The hill down the back of the property to the little beach. That it’s out of the chaos. So nice it books too fast.
- Susan (9/5): -
- Terrie (10/5): - The location and the atmosphere were fantastic! The only thing I think was lacking was some sort of breakfast, even if it is only cold cereal, fruit, and muffins.
- Lynn (10/5): Retreat by the sea - Such an amazing view
- Tina (10/5): Beautiful ocean views and stay, would cook again - All the rooms have a beautiful ocean view and the entire hotel was top notch/ clean/ well maintained gardens & pool areas. Loved the ocean sounds and breezes coming into a very comfy room. Highly recommend A bit pricy for the off beaten path between Camden and Rockland but that could have been resolved with simply adding some pastries and fruit (with the coffee & tea offered - only thing offered) as it was a car ride to the cafes and eateries.
- Janie (8/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Top locatie. - Zeer mooie ligging , letterlijk aan de rand van de oceaan.
- Marilyn (10/5): Would definitely stay here again and do happy to have the second night too! - Beautiful room with wonderful view… very informative and helpful staff at front desk Nothing… loved everything!
- Denise (10/5): Beautiful property! -
- Sherrill (10/5): -
- Tamir (10/5): -
- Patricia (8/5): -
- Donna (9/5): Great spot , we are repeat customers and will stay there again - Very clean, nicely appointed, friendly staff, nice view and great central location
- Newling (9/5): The location and the well appointed room and glorious view of Penobscot Bay. - Great location with view of an inlet of Penobscot Bay. Room had attractive decor and generally well appointed. Bed very comfortable. Would have appreciated tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
- Benjamin (10/5): -
- John (8/5): - View was very nice. Did not use the pool. It was cloudy. Convenient location for Camden/Rockland.
- Martha (8/5): - Beautiful, remote, views spectacular. Staff very friendly. Unique, quiet. Personal touches made it very nice for a short stay.
- Dorothy (8/5): -
- Dennis (10/5): - I wish I could have stayed longer. It is the nicest place in the area. The owner should be very proud of how well the inn is maintained. We will be back
- Christopher (10/5): - Great location. Beautifully maintained.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The view if Penobscott Bay is breathtaking.
- Lisa (10/5): - Amazing view from our balcony! Staff were awesome. The only thing I could recommend is a “common area” somewhere for those who are traveling with friends.
- billy (10/5): - very comfortable, staff friendly, would be great if they had some kind of continental breakfast on grounds. views are
outstanding and grounds seating is great.
thanks
- Mark (10/5): Asked them if I could buy a room and just move there. - Absolutely one of the nicest, cleanest, most picturesque establishments in which I have lodged. However nice it looks to you online, it will exceed your expectations. Wonderful.
- Karen (8/5): It was a cozy quiet stay. - The view was incredible. It was set in a quiet area with access to a pool, a fire pit, and chairs by the water. The whole ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. There was a loud banging on the wall all night long. It might be from a pipe? I had to put on my earbuds to block out the sound as it was driving me crazy.
- Jane (10/5): - Location was excellent. The view was spectacular. Very clean. Friendly staff.
- Claire (10/5): -
- BamTgg (10/5): A return to the area - We were warmly greeted for our return trip. We were there several years ago- it was perfect then and still is!
The outdoors was lovely and the room was beautifully appointed. The view of the Penobscot Bay brought out the cameras especially when we watched the fog come in one night and the next morning a windjammer was anchored.
We enjoyed the quiet beauty, the heated pool ,the roomy balcony and total relaxation.
We will return.
- Louise (10/5): - Wonderful view, good pool, very friendly staff, morning coffee service, nice atmosphere
- Beth (8/5): Very comfortable, clean decorated so cute! Plenty of towels and they give you a rubber ducky for your bath - Very comfortable beds, a good walk into town, beautiful sitting area on the water with a nice hike back up to the Inn. Beautiful property. No coffee pot in the room, but I am sure they have a good reason not to. A little walk to the office to get your own coffee
- monte (10/5): - Beautiful property and staff was amazing
- Tineehinee (7/5): Room and facilities were good. Noise level was unacceptable. - The room cleanliness and view were as advertised. Easy cheque-in and access. The noise level on our bottom floor room as unexpected and quite loud from the room up above as we heard every step, bathroom use, etc. Sad
- Gay (10/5): - Incredible ocean views. Next time we need to request lodging without using steps. There are rooms that would meet that condition.
- Jim (10/5): - Lovely New England style inn. Would definitely stay again.
- Lois (10/5): - Beautiful grounds and very quiet.
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Linda (8/5): -
- jaime-lynn (10/5): - I don’t often leave reviews but this place was great! If you want quiet, clean and lots of relaxation! We will recommend to friends!
- LinnyKTakomaPark_MD (10/5): Lovely and relaxing - Strawberry Hill does a very nice job of what they advertise - a small hotel, quiet, beautiful setting, lovely heated pool. They don't claim to offer food so you shouldn't book here if that's your priority. We also don't like to have to jump up and out to get food in the morning - which made me hesitate to book - but we took advantage of their tea/coffee bar and did one grocery run for our frig: fruit, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, bread, etc. Relaxing on the balcony for our first meal of the day was lovely. The women at the front desk were helpful and friendly. It's not the newest or shiniest but clean and very comfortable and suited us well. Location was great for all the activities north and south.
- Pamela (9/5): Great stay! Liked it all. - Nice property with beautiful view and two heated pools. The pillows weren’t to my liking but everything else was. Even the morning coffee! Nice staff and very clean. Not modern but updated and comfortable. Each unit has a small balcony. Location was right between Rockport and Camden- two great towns. Carry my bags up a flight wasn’t great for my back. But that’s about all I didn’t love.

- Tracy (10/5): -
- Cheryl (10/5): -
- Laura (10/5): -
- Joern (10/5): Lovely place with wonderful view - Wonderful view No breakfast
- Sue E (9/5): -
- James (9/5): -
- Spellman (10/5): - The view was wonderful.
- Thomas (10/5): - All good.
- Gloria (10/5): - Strawberry Hill was a great place to stay. The rooms were lovely and beautifully decorated with a nautical theme.
Highly recommend ! In addition, the scenery from each room was spectacular.
- Michelle (10/5): - Very clean & nicely decorated! Grounds are very pretty!! Bed was comfortable! Although they don’t have a coffee maker in room, there’s very good coffee available downstairs! Lovely place!!!
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- E2355MNpaull (2/5): Very disappointed for two days - Waste of time & money except for the wonderful view. Shower drain clogged. The tiny refrigerator was not cold. Bathroom sink is located outside of bathroom. The entire place was outdated & dirty. The two tiny pools are a joke and not even a piece of fruit available for breakfast. Oh, and the patio was 2 little chairs outside our window on the ground.
- Margaret (10/5): My stay was very brief, only late afternoon and overnight. I would have enjoyed staying much longer. - Very pleasant, great view from my room, staff was very nice, pool temp perfect and nice to have swim towels provided.
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Very pleasant surroundings.spotless cleaning
- Timothy (10/5): A great location, conveniently located between Rockland and Rockport, with a beautiful pool and view - The view out the back of the hotel over the pool and the ocean is just beautiful. Every morning they have coffee in the lobby and the folks at reception were really nice and we enjoyed chatting with them. And of course we took advantage of the pool and really enjoyed swimming and chilling out there every day we were there. We loved everything about the Inn. The only thing to keep in mind is that while the parking is ample, it’s all out front of the hotel and to reach the ground floor rooms, which is what we had, you have to either drive around the side to drop off your bags and carry them to your room or you can carry them down some stairways from the front. We had no problems whatsoever with that, but if someone has limited mobility just be sure to request a room on the reception area level.
- Diana (10/5): - Convenient location with an excellent view. The room was very clean and comfortable.
- Maria M (10/5): Very nice - Resort like beautiful location Large nice rooms with a gorgeous view
- Cynthia (10/5): Relaxing, wonderful stay! - The property was so clean, and welcoming! Wonderful place to stay! Will return! Nothing
- Maureen (10/5): - Beautiful setting, lovely property
- Gina (10/5): - Very clean, excellent location on water. Easy access to mid-coast sites.
- Lecia (10/5): Perfect summer stay. - The Inn and the grounds were beautiful!
Our stay exceeded our expectations. Nothing! It was perfect.
- Marilyn (10/5): - This place was fabulous!! Everything was super clean and the room was decorated so cute! View was fantastic and there was a full moon while we were there coming up over the ocean! The staff was great, very friendly. We did not get a chance to use the pool, but it looked wonderful.
Highly recommend! staying here!!

- Verified traveler (10/5): A Pleasant 3 Days - The only thing I might mention, is that the TV screen was hard to see. The picture was too dark and couldn't be lightened up. Otherwise, it was a great stay at a very nice establishment. I would recommend it to anyone.
- Manuela (8/5): -
- Thomas (10/5): Outstanding - We have stayed at Strawberry Hill and Island View, sister properties under the same ownership. We absolutely love this place. The location and grounds are breathtaking. They have two pools, one is an infinity pool overlooking the harbor. The rooms are beautifully appointed with quality towels and bedding. The entire property is meticulous, and the staff are great, very friendly and helpful. Very quiet and relaxing vibe.
- Rhonda Dawn (9/5): Ideal sea side inn, very quiet and beautiful plus very comfortable beds. - Gorgeous view over the beautiful lawn and over the bay. Truly ideal if you are looking for a reasonable price with a stunning view and beautiful rooms and grounds. Nothing But from a marketing viewpoint, a more modern sign out front may take your look to a new level
- Howard (9/5): - Everything except... (see below). The shower was difficult to use (water pressure, heat control of water).
- Pamela (10/5): - This is an ideal place to say with an optimal view. The pool, landscaping and amenities were perfect. Our 7-night stay was ideal.
- Robbie (10/5): - Awesome view. Friendly staff. Nothing.
- Linda (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and everyone was so nice - I would have to say the view! Love the idea that everyone gets that same view Well I was surprised that you didn’t offer something for a breakfast
- Andrea (10/5): - Every room has lovely view of Penobscot bay.
- James (10/5): Charming Inn very well maintained definitely worth a visit - Great location between Rockland and Camden. Updated, clean, quiet and very well Maintained. Would definitely return. Could hear guests above us walking around their room
- Laura (10/5): - Room nicely appointed. Beautiful view. Wonderful staff
- Robert (10/5): - Beautiful room with a great view of the Bay!!
- Debbie (8/5): - I loved that the property had a patio with a view, and you could even go down and sit and enjoy a fire The only thing I thought the property was missing is a makeup mirror attached to the wall, or a full length mirror. For me upper scale hotels or resorts always has a magnifying make up mirror. That helps a lot
- Ruth (10/5): - Beautiful setting looking out over an inlet. Nice pool. Very nicely furnished room. Coffee in morning in lobby. Refrigerator in room. Our room had a comfortable king bed. Lovely flowers in front and back.
- Elisa (10/5): - The staff is friendly and helpful. The property is clean, very pleasant. I would go back again!
- Allison (10/5): - This was a beautiful property and I am already planning on returning next year. The rooms were spacious and spotless and the grounds were stunning.
- Karen (9/5): Fabulous location and friendly team - What a wonderful welcome. The staff team are all very friendly and helpful, making you feel that you are genuinely important to them. The rooms are spacious and fresh with a nautical themed decor that is also elegant. The view over the cove is mesmerising, and the pool is a great place to relax after a day of exploration. I really do hope that we can come back some day. Strawberry Hill is amazing. The only minor downside is that It would have been really nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Tea and coffee are provided in the reception area in the morning, which was appreciated, but it would have been nice to be able to make a hot drink in the late afternoon or evening.
