Guest Reviews
- Lydia (2/5): - The room is infested with dead bugs upon entry. The motel staff came and supposedly clean the room when we brought it to their attention after refusing a refund. We tried to manage but as we laid down for the night live bugs started to appear including bugs in the bed. Do not stay here.
- Devon (8/5): - We got into town around 10:30 and the person that checked us in was super friendly and polite. Although the parking lot is dark, parking was very easy with an open spot in front of every room. Once we got into the room we turned on the AC and it quickly cooled down the room. We did encounter some bugs throughout the entire room. Checkout was very smooth as well, and when I told the person about the bugs he asked me to show him, and apologized about it. Other than the bugs in the room we had an amazing experience.
- Edward (10/5): - Excellent value for the price, easy drive to Columbia
- Alexis (2/5): - My room had roaches and super big ants everywhere. The sheets on the bed were stained. I ended up paying for the room just to sleep on my friends couch because this motel was worse than I expected
- DAVID (4/5): My Stay at Westwoods - Pictures were not of the rooms. Dead flies on the floor, 2 live beetles in the room but they didn't stay that way long. On the good side it was an air conditioned room and had a comfortable bed. Curtains needed to be replaced, light from the parking lot shown around and left the room well lit at night. Pool was closed.
- David (8/5): - Old motel. Needing updates and a few small tweaking with updated Air and Heating units. The exterior has no appeal.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Pass this motel, load partiers all night long with loud music. Then upon our leaving our room to check out, we saw a roach run across the dresser. Won't stay again if I'm in town.
- Kevin (6/5): - Property is very dated with poor lighting and bed was equivalent to sleeping on a rock slab. There was no breakfast and the establishment is not pet friendly. On a positive note, the people were friendly.
- David (10/5): - I like the locations-very close to college and downtown. The place was clean and the rooms were adequate.
- Barbara (8/5): Good for a night stay - Nice and clean. Comfortable bed. Furnishings older. The outside area was littered and needs some attention
- Timothy (2/5): - I did not stay at this motel. On arriving to the town where this motel is located, I was advised by a resident and a police officer to stay away, as the motel has a reputation of shady activity.
- doug (10/5): - A nice little motel off the highway. Staff was friendly and room was clean. No weird smells. No stains on the sink, the toilet or the shower. All linens from the sheets to the towels and wash cloths were clean and fresh. The floors had a modern vinyl, which I like because these are cleaner than carpeted floors.
I liked being able to park right outside the room. This was favorite part about my stay. My vehicle was like eight feet from the door so I was able to conveniently load and unload luggage with few steps.
This location is quiet and the hotel itself was quiet and well lit. I was aware that they don't offer a breakfast during the booking process therefore I brought my own breakfast.
Staff was respectful the next morning too by not knocking on the door or calling on the phone, which is great because nobody likes that.
All in all I am pleased with my stay here. I will remember this motel and stay here again.
- Kelli (10/5): - The bed were super comfortable
- Bobby (6/5): - Just wish there was enough towels for 4 people. No house keeping was done either.
- Peter (6/5): - Well, checked in, stayed in December, room was cold, went to heater and all buttons broken, had to turn on by hitting reset on power button. checked coffemaker, still had grounds in it. Floor was dirty, had some sort of sand. Lastly, went to open fridge and door fell off. Felt like I was camping for four nights, which, for me, was kinda fun, but if my wife was with me would have had to get another hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed was nice. Bugs in the room and it was fallong apart in places.
- Dennis (2/5): - Stayed for the weekend you get what you pay for. Dingy old and unsafe for female solo
- James (2/5): - Paid to have a king size bed they gave me a double bed instead
- Eric (10/5): - *
- Rich C (4/5): You get what you pay for - Very run down motel. Looked kind of shifty. It was mostly clean, but suspect. Can hear everything from the room next door.
- I9536DQannettef (8/5): Clean, quiet, pet friendly hotel. - This is a clean, surprisingly quiet, pet friendly hotel just off the highway. The room was clean, nice linens (firm pillows), and the air conditioner worked well. They don’t have breakfast, no big deal there. The owners were very nice and have put a lot of effort into updating the hotel. The outside is in the process of being painted now. The rooms have been done. We were able to have our dog, for a small fee, which I thank them for. TIP: You can ask to see a room before you rent. We have done this on occasion when reviews are all over the board.
- screwitfr (10/5): Excellent - All I can say is room is very clean. I love the upgrades the owners have made. The owners are the friendliest and the best. I give 10 stars and will recommend to anyone looking for good place to stay. Also to add I absolutely love ❤️ it. Nice and quiet to boot.
- Ronda (8/5): - No breakfast available or vending machines. Area seemed a bit sketchy
- Verified traveler (10/5): Westwoods, for the price best stay in Fulton. - No bugs, friendly staff/owners. Its a motel not a hotel, but compared to 'hotels' in fulton/kingdom city it's nearly as good for basically half the price.
The shower is nice, the bed sturdy + comfy (I'm a firm bed enjoyer while by gf likes soft beds best but we both slept quite well), and the amenities normal and nice.
- Richard (10/5): - Very clean room. Check-in was easy. Nice clerk.
- Todd (6/5): Meh - Very basic. Room was clean, but dated and toilet handle was broken.
- Mark (6/5): - Towels were dirty
- Stephanie (6/5): - The property staff were very kind.
Our expectations were relatively low for a cheap motel room and I’d say this place fit the bill. There were cob webs on the lamps in the room. Broken power outlets (and outlet covers). The toilet was not secure so it banged against the wall every time we used it. All of the linens had stains and some had small holes. The TV remote was very dirty.
The A/C and shower were perfectly functional. The room felt very spacious.
It was fine for what it was and the cost.
- Katelin (2/5): - This property had decent reviews which is why we chose to go ahead and book. I was extremely disappointed. Check in went fine, the owners were fine, our room was clean but it had a terrible smell. he AC was missing buttons and once we got it to turn on with the remote, it sounded like it was going to explode. We left it on long enough to circulate some air but it was SO loud that we had to shut it off to be able to sleep. There were ants on the floor and a couple on the bed. Honestly, if it hadn't been 1:30 in the morning when we checked in, I would have requested our money back and left. Not worth the $112 that we paid and I would not stay again.
- ANGEL (8/5): - Sheets had holes
- James (10/5): - Very good value for the price paid
- Doug (8/5): - It was great for what they charged. Towels were a bit rough
- Stephen (8/5): - This a basic budget motel! It's a clean, safe, space to sleep. Don't expect the perks of a 5 star hotel, because you're not staying in one. Will definitely use again
- Eric (8/5): - The staff is friendly and pleasant. This motel has obviously had a few cosmetic upgrades but the age of the building shows. Outlets are definitely needed thru out the room. You can not plug anything in next to the bed or desk, and the AC unit is very noisy.
However, the room was clean and for the price, compared to other local hotels, it was just fine. I would stay here again in the future.
- Steven (10/5): - My wife and I stayed for one night. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room and the comfortability of the bedding. The owners were friendly and accommodating as well.
- Hollie (6/5): Ok - Not very clean. Air conditioner buttons were broken and the remote only worked sometimes. It was ok for one night. I’ll try somewhere else next time.
- Mark (8/5): - Classic old motel, beds are comfortable, but there is mold in the bathroom and we saw beetles or roaches.
Theres a coffee maker, but they dont stock coffee/tea or creamers.
There are better hotels in the area for the same prices.
- PAM (8/5): Family weekend at COMO - Comfortable clean place to stay. Did not give wifi password, no bucket for ice, and no coffee for coffee pot. Bathroom clean and newly updated. Easy access to Columbia.
- Donald (8/5): - Don't be mislead by first appearance. Room was clean. Very little noise and felt safe with vehicle parked right outside the motel room door.
- RedDog2062 (6/5): Not a great stay, just okay. - Well, the room was clean and it was quiet, but that’s where the good stopped. Everything in the room was in extremely worn condition, and there was plaster missing on one wall. The fridge was old and looked like it. The beds were comfortable. The A/C, again very old and missing buttons struggled to cool the room. We were in town for a family event, but if we come back, I think we’ll be staying elsewhere.
- screwitfr (10/5): Beyond Excellent - Very nice place. Owners are very friendly couldn't ask for better. Rooms are very clean. I am very happy choosing this place. Yes it has it flaws like neighbors that don't know 10 pm is quiet time. Otherthan that I will recommend to anyone..I will continue to stay at this place. It's the best in my mind
- katheren (10/5): - Greatly priced. Nice clean room to sleep for the night. Had place to keep food cold. 👍
- bill (6/5): - A place to stay
- Timothy (8/5): - Basic quality motel. It provided what we needed.
- Alan (10/5): Great value, friendly owners, clean, updated room - Family business who appreciate your business. Room was very clean and had been recently updated - shower, for example, was ceramic tile, not a plastic shell. Granite bath counter. Recliner was very relaxing. Great value - would definitely stay again!
- Tina (6/5): - They are a around the stairway had lots of construction debris and our room was nothing like the one posted on the Expedia profile picture for this place.
- Ellen (10/5): - The room we had (two double beds and a king bed) was excellent. The beds were comfortable; the mini-fridge worked; the TV was large and the room was nicely decorated
- 792teresag (2/5): Wrong room, nightly rental incorrectly quoted. - We spoke to the motel midweek. Room was a double queen vs a king with recliner as we had discussed. Come to find out they do not have a recliner. Quoted $55/night. Total bill for two nights was $168. We canceled our reservation and stayed elsehwere.
- Govindarajulu (4/5): - Stayed one night. Spotted roaches and spiders. Bathroom door didn’t shut&lock. Telephone in room was dead. Have to go down to office in person to talk to office staff. I don’t think price little below $100 is worth for this motel
- Andrew (2/5): - We need up leaving after 30 minutes the room was nothing like the pictures. There was big flying around the room and the painting of the walls was terrible. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!
- Paula (4/5): - Water came into the room under the carpet during a rainstorm overnight. Staff were very friendly. The towels were stained, carpet stained, walls dirty. Could use a fresh coat of paint, carpet cleaning, and bleach when the towels are washed.
- Randy (10/5): - Rooms very clean, staff very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
- Thomas (4/5): - Ice maker looks like been broken long time. When expressed disappointment, no ice, temp 86, they went to town, bought ice, kept in home freezer. Had to go to front desk, ring, ask for ice. Room A/C, set at 60, barely kept room cool. They don’t advertise pool bc its tarp covered. Looks disused long time also. Basically a tired 1950-60z strip motel. 21 rooms and no one else staying there. $72/night, paid less for more other places. Not sure how they stay in business.
- Kasie (6/5): - My first room smelled really bad. The staff was gracious enough to give me another. During the night someone tried to come in the room because they thought it was their room. They were drunk. The room was decent and clean.
- Homer (10/5): - A simple place clean and easy access to the highway
- Kimberly (10/5): Good value - It’s not a fancy hotel but had some remodeling and kept very clean. We were happy with what we paid for.
- Gary (6/5): - The outside appears more dated and disappointing than the inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find the room suitable. It was dated and in need of major updates but the ac and fridge worked great. Nice hot water. Was all clean. No evidence of bedbugs or other insects. Staff was working on outside appearances. No major complaints
- EDWARD (8/5): - Convenient highway access and close to nearby Westminster College campus.
- shannon (8/5): - Convenient for the party we were going to. Price was reasonable. Our room was clean but others in our party was not.
- Mary (8/5): - Older property. Everything worked as it should. I am not a fan of the pet friendly that seems so prevalent in this area and this location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The A/C heater units were as loud as a chain saw. I used the heater as the stay was January 2022.
Else, fleas, fleas, fleas. Also, in the second room I stayed in on the south side of the building, with chain saw sounding heater, the heater failed, sort of.
- Douglas (10/5): - They took money off my card that they shouldnt of
- Daniel (8/5): - It was close to the main highway. Easy to find.
- Wilihemena (8/5): - The property was better than expected. It is a motel, however, it was clean, offered coffee. The room appeared to have some updates. The area of location was right off the highway. At first I wasn't sure about safety, but the door seem to have a very secure keyless lock. Overall the stay was okay for overnight at a motel.
- Elease (6/5): - There was 2 beds/double occupancy. Coffee was available for 1 person - 1 cup - 1 serving. We had to ask for a 2nd serving for the 2nd guest.
Friendly front desk staff.
- Jeff (8/5): - Quiet s simple easy to get to room
- marion (10/5): - We stated for 3 days, and it turned out to be the best motel out of the other 6 we stayed in on our road trip.
Loved the location of the motel and spaciousness of the room. Especially the location of the bathroom sink and counter.
One recommendation.........another bedside table would have been great. Thank you so much.
- Steven (2/5): - Older motel , looked clean at first, came away with multiple insect bites from the bed, found at least one bug on the bed when I got up and left on my second night at two in the morning. All rooms may not have this problem but the bed in room 123 has bed bugs.
- Margaret (6/5): Overall it was good for a common motel. - The owners were very friendly. The bathroom, refrigerator and microwave was all clean. There was 1 lamp that worked ,but the bulb was dangerously laying on it's side. The bed qas comfortably firm. The air unit unfortunately was filthy with dust and the carpet looked like it could use a good shampooing. The cable TV was large and had an excellent picture. The water frim the faucet even tasted good.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There were bugs in our room no towels stains on the pillow less than a half a roll of toilet paper and no extra rolls
- Verified traveler (6/5): - From the outside, it doesn't look great, but the motel room was clean. The beds were reasonably comfortable, however the room was very outdated.
There is an issue with the stairs leading up to the suite. They were rickety and you could see rusty nail heads lifting out of the wood in quite a few places. Also, my wife fell on the step leading up to the room. They should paint the rdges of the steps so you can more easily see them.
- Jennifer (8/5): One night stay - The room was nice, but the property was not well maintained. The bathroom was newly remodeled.
- Dennis (8/5): Guys golf trip. - Pleasantly surprised. Stayed for the budget pricing. Room was updated , clean and comfy. Ate at Jalisco Mexican restaurant: large delicious portions .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Yellow stains on sheets, live and dead bugs everywhere, mold in shower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I am not from the area however, I just started a new job and wanted to get a feel for the area before signing a lease.
In all honesty when I pulled into the parking lot I had made up in my mind that I wasn’t staying at West Wood Hotel (looks can be deceiving)!!
The gentleman allowed me the opportunity to see my room first, the room had home like environment. It was really clean.
The location was perfect no noise in the evening and it’s right off the highway. Housekeeping came by asking me if I wanted my room cleaned. For a two night stay I paid less than $150 and NO DEPOSIT.
I am in the process of fixing my credit so I am on a strict budget. For what I paid I could not complain. I am grateful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. I didn't realize i needed to ask for cleaning service and for items to be replaced. Our room was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly. We would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is where we go whenever we're in the area. It's an excellent value!
- Patty (8/5): Rest - It's could even better than expected but it was okay today
- Damian (8/5): Give it a chance! - The outside looks a bit scary. Don't let that stop you. The rooms are clean and comfy. The owners are very friendly! I'd stay again.
- Ronald (8/5): - Rooms nice. Outside a bit dated
- Larry (10/5): Nice surprise - Looks can be deceiving, when I pulled up it looked a little run down but I had traveled 7 hours and was tired. The lady at the front desk was very nice and when I got to my room it was really nice. Comfortable bed and very clean, great room for the price and would stay again.
- Christine (10/5): Mizzou Homecoming - Great room for the price. Very comfortable Nd clean.
- JessicaClaycomb (10/5): Money-Saver, Clean - The outside of the facility is not kept up so well but it's clear the owners have put money into revamping the inside of the rooms. The bathroom in my room was SUPER clean and very new. It was quiet and the hosts were extremely friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were in much better condition then what I expected upon arrival and seeing the outside conditions of the hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is a dump. Orbitz should not list it. The have an old empty pool, very few rooms and what appears to be a transient population. The lobby is no bigger than a walk in closet. The site is dirty and trashy.
- Mark (2/5): Bait an Switched tried to over charge for room - Not one to post negative things. ..I will say this particular experience very negative because owner tried an bait an switch promised a room to me until I arrived then said room I reserved was no longer available being lied to upset me very much.....I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.....
- Dave (6/5): Don’t judge a book by its cover - Outside was a bit sketchy. But the room was clean, didn’t smell, nothing was broken or in disrepair. Would stay here again
- Lori (8/5): - For the price I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. It had obviously been repainted and bedding, etc. was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Do not be put off by the exterior which looks straight out of the 60's. The interior room was great in comparison. I would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean, check in went super easy. Parking lot needs a little work
- Pearlbug2000 (6/5): Clean but very outdated - Furnishings were outdated and old but the accomodations were comfortable and the staff very helpful...location was a bit desolate...really nothing nearby. It snowed overnight and the owner shoveled a path to our car...very much appreciated that.
- lorat3 (8/5): Old motel , but new inside . - If your just looking for a warm bed and shower . This is the place . There is not a pool or breakfast . But it is nice and neat for a good night sleep . There is a gas station close and Columbia is 20 miles away . There is a frig and microwave in the room also .
