- Craig (10/5): Hotel Totem - Flaine Forum - Short break in Flaine. Hotel Totem is central located opposite a selection of restaurants and bars and about 50m from the main ski bubble. Trendy style bar and restaurant area looking out at the slopes. Very comfortable well equipped double room (with balcony). All staff were super helpful and nothing too much trouble. Excellent selection of cooked and continental breakfast options. Ski lockers conveniently located on the ground floor but they did get a little busy after 9am. Would definitely return.

The food was tasty although it would be nice if main meal accompaniments were rotated as the same few were on offer every night. Thoroughly enjoyed the old-school arcade games in the bar area. Meal system was a bit confusing at first and occasionally drinks service at the table was a bit slow.

If i had to be very picky: 1) king size bed was actually 2 singles pushed together, and mattress way too soft. 2) ski-in ski-out perhaps...but not snowboard in/out. 3) ski/boot room not heated so dont expect dry boots the next morning.
- Siew Keong (10/5): Contemporary Ski Hotel - Nice contemporary decor with an adequate buffet breakfast and dinner. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Very convenient for skiing with pretty much ski in ski out from the ski room which could do with heating for boots though. Had a great stay.

- Vicki (10/5): Trendy Hotel in Flaine - Hotel in great position in resort, ski in/out, a few shops and restaurants within 2 minutes walk. 3 mins to main lift out of Flaine. The hotel was immaculately clean with very comfy beds and we had a great view from our balcony of the slopes. If you are stopping half board pay on reservation as it is much cheaper. The food looked good but we preferred to have a wander at night and find a restaurant. There are a handful that serve excellent local food and the normal chicken, steaks or burgers. All at French ski resort prices though. Our only moan was breakfast time. The staff did not clear the tables quickly enough and it was hard to find a table that had been cleared and reset, even though there were plenty of tables vacant. The buffet breakfast itself was great with a choice of full English, cereals, yoghurts, croissants and local pastries etc. Don't be put off by the appearance of the hotel from the outside. Inside is trendy and has a nice feel and very clean.

- David (10/5): I look forward to my next stay. - The hotel is excellent and in a very central location. For skiers it is the closest to the lifts and slopes. I stayed there 10 years ago when it was run by Crystal but now it is in private hands it has gone from strength to strength. It is luxury with the staff to help in any way they can. Very helpful and though I tried to speak French they always answered in English fluently. The twin room my son and I had was perfect with everything we could need. Housekeeping were very polite and accommodating. I look forward to my next stay.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is within very short walking distance of 4 main ski lifts up into the main mountain range. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

- David (10/5): Most excellent - There are three things which make this hotel outstanding: staff, food, location. I can take or leave the whacky décor and drinking vin chaud out of jam jars but what is indisputable is that the staff are trained in customer service to the highest level. Without exception, they were excellent. The evening food, particularly the desserts, was outstanding and varied, and served with a smile and a joke by the chefs. Being two minutes' walk to the snow is also a huge bonus meaning maximum ski time when on a short-stay ski trip. Add to that the proximity to Geneva and you have an excellent option of a place to stay. Would highly recommend.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel friendly staff - The hotel is in an excellent location right in the centre of flaine forum and next to the slopes. Very modern and clean. We hired skis from the hotel and the ski hire staff were fantastic. Extremely helpful, new equipment, warm dry boots every morning. No queing or waiting for anything. While we were there 2ft of snow fell - reception let us borrow snow shovel and gear to dig the our car out. Spa and hot tub are wonderful.
- Jitka (10/5): Eat . Ski . Sleep . Repeat - We love this hotel. It has unique, stylish design, very different to any mountain resort / hotels we have been to. So "industrial, raw looking" but believe it or not, so very cosy feeling!!! There is quality in every material you see around you. Outdoor warm whirlpool with mountain view is a must to try :-) Staff is very friendly, rooms are clean with very comfortable bed (we prefer to book Club room with balcony facing mountains), it is ski door-to-door hotel, cosy lounge area with fire place for après-ski drink, very good breakfast, large choice. And yes, we will definitely repeat! There was no negative point, only that we had to go back after 2 nights ;-)

Our room had a very musty mildew smell that was so strong at times we had to open the window to air it out. Two friends came with us though and their room did not have a smell at all. Other than that I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It was right across the street from shops and restaurants and the lifts were pretty much right outside the door! We don't speak French (only English) and the staff was very accommodating. If someone had trouble they would go get another staff member to help. They went above and beyond to help us find what we wanted on menus and really went out of their way to make it a great stay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Won't be staying again - Very friendly the first day then not anymore. Breakfast was one of the worst I have experienced in all my travels. There were major issues with a very smelly toilet and dirty water coming back up in the bath tub which we complained about twice but no action had been taken by the hotel. We had to go out and buy air freshener. Only on checkout did we receive an apology but no offer if some kind of reimbursement. The food is overpriced and overcooked and it's not transparent how much the buffet actually costs! We were shocked when presented with the bill. Needless to say we only ate there once. The area has some nice restaurants and bars.
