Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cute but desperately needs an update - The staff was great, but the room itself needed updating - the tap fittings would randomly fall off when the tap was used. The restaurant next door plays loud music until midnight. The location was also not that close to things. Unfortunately i would not stay here again - the photos are definitely outdated.
- Jeremy (8/5): Conveniently located hotel on the Ping river - Conveniently located hotel on the Ping river with easy access to a lot of good restaurants and Chinatown. A short walk across the footbridge to celebrate Chinese New Year. Nice garden area overlooking the river and pleasant café for breakfast; upstairs pool very refreshing.
Riverview room gives a sideways view of the river and is a little dark and stark but comfortable enough.
- harry (10/5): - We stayed here during Loi Krathong. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially after flooding just a few weeks before. Let me say this was beyond my expectations! What a great little hotel... Very clean with a great staff! Just one thing, which isn't a deal breaker, there is no elevator.
- Cale (10/5): - This property exceeded my expectations in every possible way. The room was incredible peaceful. The lady running breakfast was entirely too kind and made us yummy food every single morning when typically I would venture out to find something local. I had an issue with a wrecked moped at the end of the stay and the hotel assured me they would help in case of the rental company trying to overcharge (they didn’t) and I felt really good about that
- Edward (10/5): - The staff and room were wonderful. I extended my stay and was sad to go!
- Stephen (10/5): - cute boutique hotel right on the river easy walking distance to town
- Jaffa (10/5): - This is a wonderful property right on the ping
River. Very serene and zen style rooms. Very close to a number of restaurants and walking distance to the Walking night market. Very comfortable stay.
- Taylor (10/5): - This is a gem of a hotel. It is really beautifully architecturally, and is located in a very chill, yet convenient part of the city. The staff is lovely and accommodating and I would stay again in a heartbeat.
- Amanda (10/5): - The hotel design is amazing, I LOVE the oriental vibes. I was also surprised that the rate included breakfast! And the room comes with a little balcony! I really enjoyed my stay there and will 10/10 recommend. Location is quite convenient too, walking distance to many places like night market and this little street with many cute boutiques, cafes and restaurants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Decorative design great. Great location.
Functional not so good, like hunt the plug points in room, free mini bar but only water in mini bar. No drawers or cupboard space and only 4 coat hangers. No towels at swimming pool when we visited. One sink had a wall mirror but the other not which was strange.
Hotel closed the bar and restaurant at 5:30pm unannounced each day and said it was low season while other hotels did not do this.
Hotel had unsold rooms but they refused any later check out as we had a night flight.
- WB (10/5): - Nice staff with a good service mind. Facility is good
- Bear (8/5): - Everything is alright, I like their oriental vibe to the design, but their rooms are relatively small, cleanliness can be improved. All else are functioning. The pool wasn't very desirable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We came to check in around 7 pm and met with front officer. He’s not really in a mood to welcoming us. We’re a little bit surprise and disappointed with staff. But overall the hotel, decorations and food are really nice.
- Gh (10/5): - This hotel has beautiful interior combined Chinese and modern styles. Willow trees in the garden looks amazing.
Breakfast and complementary afternoon tea service was great. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Enjoyed every moment here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the thoughtful architecture, decor and ambience. It created a zen feeling. Breakfast was delicious too. And warm service especially from Honey, at the reception.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean and well designed hotel. Service was not terribly friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staffs are very nice. We enjoy our stay very much. Just the sofa in room is not so clean, others are good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice decor, very friendly staff and the food is yummy
- mi kyung (8/5): Wonderful hotel but the towels - Everything is wonderful but the towels.
Really old towels! Not white anymore. Almost grey and a bit smelly. I saw a hotel staff cleaning the windows with the towels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location quit space great decoration with best facilities hotel staff are very nice helpful and breakfast is amazing I love it and will be back soon
- Chris (10/5): - The hotel is small and cosy in pretty setting along the river. Delightful restaurant to sip a cocktail or have a meal. Staff are very kind and attentive.
- Graeme (10/5): - Nice, unique boutique hotel. Room was a bit small, but everything was high quality. Loved the breakfast, tea, and staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice stay in town - The hotel is close to the market. The staff are nice with a serviced mind.
- Bryce (10/5): Amazing hotel! Great value - Loved this hotel. Good location -- away from the crazy area but just a short walk across the bridge and you're where the markets are. The staff are beyond friendly. So accommodating and kind -- I looked forward to seeing them at breakfast and tea time. Rooms are clean and comfortable with an understated, artistically chic touch. Pool was great after hot afternoons/day trips. Best food items -- rose honey tea, Thai spice chicken wings, Khow suey. Breakfast is included and huge!!
- WanTong (10/5): Are these mosquitos? - Not sure if it is mosquito or flies hovering in the cafe. If these are mosquitoes, perhaps can place mosquito lamp traps
- Julie (10/5): Lovely Stay! - Such a chic little hotel in a great location. Easy tuk tuk ride or walk to Old Town! Staff was so accommodating, took care of everything for us. Nice breakfast. Loved this stay!
- bernard (10/5): Great quiet place - It was a nice find, great location by the river.
Out of the room was in nice garden where one can enjoy the sun and tranquility. the pool is long and very clean, all aroud relaxing.
Attention to details, shower works perfectly, well worth the price.
Included breakfast is generous, a la carte food and delicious coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - everything was nice except the reception couldnt find our booking and took long waiting time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel overlooking the Ping Rive - Beautiful boutique hotel decorated with Chinese elements. Every spot is a photo opportunity. We had the Willow room which was located on the ground floor, with a small terrace overlooking the willow garden. Breakfasts, drinks and tea were delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location wise, it is quiet and overlooking the Ping River, the street has boutiques and cafes, but a 10 minute drive if you are looking to explore the city centre.
- Danette (10/5): Loved this place! - Love this hotel, couldn’t have been more pleased. Happy hour cocktails were excellent and actually had alcohol in them. Food was superb- so much so we ended up eating all meals there. So lovely, couldn’t believe the decor and style of this place. Location was exactly where I wanted to be for high end craft shopping. Staff was wonderful.
- Richard (10/5): Great Boutique with Exceptional Hospitality - Great beautiful boutique hotel with wonderful service. Excellent breakfast. Hospitality is great not in center but easy walk. Right on Ping River. Will be back.
- Michael (8/5): Nice hotel, but a few problems. - Hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Location is a bit far from the center of the city (especially at night), and the hotel desk staff was a pretty mixed bag -- some were helpful, but others were only too eager to rip us off by trying to overcharge us for cabs and services.
- AARON (6/5): Chic hotel, terrible service and location - there was 0 wi fi available in the room. i was told i could use the wifi in the lobby or cafe instead. no resolution. no towels at the pool. the car service they used over charged us by 200 bhat. the location is out of the way of anything you'd want to visit. the property itself is decent but thats about it. service sucks. most of the staff is not versed in english so they just stand they saying, "yes, yes, yes...." with out understating the problem or offering solution.
- Buss (8/5): - Good place, very good staffs, Afternoon tea is nice. We will back there again.
- Antonio (10/5): Charming boutique hotel - You can see the attention to detail from the design of the hotel to the attentiveness of the staff. The food is also excellent and they kick start your day with a varied and well designed menu; the afternoon tea is also a must try when you're hiding until the sun sets. Hotel des Artists can be described as an experience of its own embedded within the artistic region of Chiang Mai.
- kok (10/5): One of the best hotel in ChiangMai town area. - Nice Boutique Hotel for couple, quiet and Relax.
Service is good and the staff is friendly.
- KIN PING (10/5): - Staff very friendly, good b'fast & afternoon tea. Staff even remembered my b'fast choice. Superb decor ... only downside is internet connection. Other than that very happy stay. It will b my first choice of accommodations in Chiangmai.
- Sarah (8/5): Stylish and friendly - The hotel is very stylish, the hotel reception staff were excellent and spoke great English . Felt extremely welcome.
- Elisabeth (10/5): A perfect stay, will come back - This was by far the most beautiful hotel I've had in my life. So tastefully decorated. The staff was extremely helpful and genuinely interested in how they could improve our stay. You really feel that you aren't a number. I didn't have many occasions where I met and was greeted by the manager of the hotel but here he was there in the morning to greet you and ask what your plans were for the day. Side note: the decorations and location was perfect and even their uniforms were stylish and a perfect match to the hotel. I will definitely come back.
- Jetniphit (10/5): nice boutique hotel - Nice hotel in beautiful Chinese setting, staff were friendly and helpful. The location isn't bad, there are nice restaurants and bars within walking distance.
- fkadarman (10/5): Nice boutique hotel, great service - Unique experience in the nice hotel with personalized service. Room was clean and had nice touches of old Chinese elements. Breakfast was great with view to the garden. The staff offered to prepare breakfast pack on our second day as we had a very early morning excursion tour. Check in was fast and the reception was hospitable and helpful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely fantastic place. - I've read reviews stating that it is too expensive, but for what you get it's a bargain considering the spacious rooms, charming design, friendly staff, and fantastic breakfasts.
- Ringo (10/5): Nice pick if you want a quiet and cozy hotel - Decent hotel with extreme well ambience ( may be it is low season and not so many noisy residents). Very relaxing ambience and you can feel their heart to maintain a good service hotel. Breakfast variety is not plenty but quality may better than some five star hotel.
- Derek (10/5): - This hotel was a breath of fresh air. The staff was wonderful the food delicious
- Joshua (10/5): Weekend in chiang mai - Great quiet hotel, with super breakfast. Not too far from old town. Very helpful staff.
- mark (10/5): It was close to the things I wanted to look at - I visited Chiang mai for the songkran and it was all that i expected it to be
- HIU TUNG AMY (10/5): A modern Chinese styled hotel - A boutique hotel, comfortable and clean. The entire hotel is good for photo-shooting, if you are a couple who loves taking photos, that will suits you.
The quality of service was the best throughout 3 hotels I stayed for the journey. The staff are welcoming and a cup of drinks is provided when you checked in.
A free afternoon tea (a cup of tea and toast) was provided. Quite surprise. For breakfast, it is Not a buffet Breakfast, but there are 5 choices of main set to choose, with a lot of side dishes, delicious and more than enough.
The room was clean and tidy. Conditioner was provided in the bathroom (most hotels in ChiangMai don't provide conditioner, I don't not why...) but the only deficit is that there is no shower curtain, thus the floor gets wet after bathing.
The hotel located beside the Ping river, many mosquito through. There is a cafe called 'Woo's Cafe' nearby, just 1 minute walk from the hotel, a must go place for chilling and refreshing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice hotel - Beautiful boutique hotel, service very friendly!
- Ben (8/5): So so - Out of all happening...room very small,no upgrade for expedia gold...breakfest nice and stuff very polite...I didnt like room and lot of mosquitos
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful design hotel - Beautiful, relaxing hotel in the centres of the city. The way the rooms have bed done up is perfect boutique style and the welcome we got from the staff was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful building and room, nice pool, good selection and quality breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love the deco of the hotel. It's really beautiful and unique. be warned of the stairs. i was staying on the third floor. no lift. most of their staff spoke English, only a handful didn't. conceirge serve could be more established. they are not very infomative, maybe they understand very little English. However, they are very helpful! hotel is near to the clubs. a bridge away from the market. and a little walk away from old town. but it's lovely. i would definitely go back and recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice staff good food and nice decor - Staff are very nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Culturally designed hotel - Toilet design is a bit odd; as I would need to walk from a door entrance where the wash basin is, pass the shower area to the toilet bowl just to use it...all because the door entrance could not be opened. Apart from that it is a comfortable hotel with almost everything you need.
- Kari (8/5): Artistic decor, relaxing experience - Clean, comfortable and charming. Good breakfast, nice coffee and relaxing surrounds.
- Carsten (10/5): Hotel actually worth 6-stars - An amazing, stylish and beautiful hotel with outstanding service .... great breakfast buffet, tea-time in the afternoon .... the design is simply breathtaking ...
Highly recommmended, it cannot get any better !!
- Pei Ling (10/5): Super Stylish Hotel des Artists - Thoughtful simple afternoon tea & beautiful Asian decor made for an excellent stay.
- Lavonne (10/5): What a find!! - What a find, I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel! Hotel staff were so attentive, polite and accommodating. Our villa was amazing and the private daybed in our courtyard looking out over the tranquil weeping willows was my favourite spot. Loved the uniqueness of this hotel as well as the personal service that comes with a hotel of this size. I will be back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Location, Good Staff, Comfort Atmosphere - The hotel looking good same as the photo. Good staff for service. They can present breakfast in small space and make it looking good.
- Bo (10/5): a real gem in Chiangmai - we all love this latest boutique hotel which blends French Chic & Chinoiserie style! Perfect for fashionable ppl ! Breakfast and lunch menu are both surprisingly good! Located in the most chic area of the city.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Boutique Hotel in Chiangmai - One of the best! Charming Chino-portuguese design. Serene and quiet even though close to shopping and dining area next to Ping river. Helpful and friendly staff. Good sleep quality. Love the little tub in the River room. TV could offer more program choices. Overall a great experience!
- Hong-Hanh Julie (10/5): cool oasis in Chiang Mai - Amazing hotel. Gorgeously designed. Attentive and caring staff. Great area and vibe.
- ronnie (10/5): - We loved this hotel. Location, cleanliness, food, and stafff were all great. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!
- Laurie Ann (10/5): Clean, bright, beautiful - The hotel is beautiful! The decor and the furniture in the bedrooms were amazing-- felt like you stepped right into a magazine. There seemed to be a mix of an antique, but modern feel. Also, the food at the cafe downstairs was tasty and I highly recommend the iced lattes.
- Shihong (10/5): Relaxing and nice boutique hotel - The hotel is very nice and tranquil. Got a free update on the first night to willow room because the next two days reserved the willow room as well. Very considerate of the hotel staff. Not very close to the old city and the other attractions. Need to take a taxi every time. Do not like to walk in ChiangMai because of the polluted air from the vehicles...Got the Egg Benedict for the breakfast which was really nice. The curry dinner was tasty as well! Overall a very relaxing and nice boutique hotel.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Very cute hotel with a nice pool. On the other side of the river so it's not that convenient but it's not a deal breaker either
- Ying Kit (10/5): - Food at the hotel is the excellent. Only a few items on the menu but the foods are presented nicely.
- Geno (10/5): Luxury, friendliness, pure happiness in Chiang Mai - This hotel was divine. Tucked away but completely accessible to Chiang Mai, gorgeous decor and a friendly staff. I couldn't have asked for more. The pool is beautiful and there is an amazing bar next door for food and cocktails. I will stay here again, absolutely.
- Rain (8/5): very nice hotel with friendly staffs - nice hotel with friendly staffs
hotel facilities are well maintain and beautiful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Well designed boutique hotel on the riverside - I enjoyed a lot during my stay in this hotel. Although the hotel is not located in the old town where most tourists would stay, it is still walkable to visit temples and tourist sights in town. There're few restaurants and shops around the hotel which all look nice. The hotel staff delivered complimentary afternoon tea to my room after my check-in and offered free breakfast next morning. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing annoyed me was the A/C unit in my room became quite noisy at the night. If I come back to Chiang Mai again I'd love to stay here again.
- kathy (10/5): Perfect hotel for vacation - Nice hotel which provides good service and high standard. Their resturant no matter from breakfast to dinner is perfect ! Love their deco as well ! Especially thanks for the piece of birthday cake !
- Warittha (8/5): Stylish hotel - Hotel is very stylish and very comfortable. Staffs are very friend and helpful. Breakfast is good but many mosquito in breakfast area. Room is nice and clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful place. Best hotel during my SEA trip - Amazing place! Loved the food and the decor! The neighborhood is quite nice as well
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Boutique Hotel with cool design - Enjoyed our stay and extended to another 2 nights.
- Verified traveler (10/5): You wont regret staying here Lovely Boutique H. - Love everything about this boutique hotel, from the room, bathroom, bed, breakfast and design. Wish it is located near main attractions, shopping or sightseeing area.
