Guest Reviews
- Nelli (8/5): - The A/C room was nice with everything you need although we had to ask more toilet paper all the time because only a few rolls were provided for many days. Soap was also only two small bars for five days total. No views from our balcony although many had reviewed they liked the views. A/C worked well, clean sheets and towels and room. Common areas were messy and did not look very nice.
- G2Kpauly (10/5): Lovely hotel - I really enjoyed my 4 nights here in Pai. The room is clean with a nice belcony and view on top floors. The hosts are very friendly and wifi quick. There is a coffee shop at front and free instant coffeeand bananas in lobby which is nice. The location is perfect close to walking street. A good place to stay for a budget in Pai.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Riittävän hyvä - Hieman huithapeliasenteella operoitu ihan mukava ja siistihkö betonikuutiohotelli. Respahenkilökuntaa ei juuri vierailun aikana näkynyt, sisäänkirjautuakseen piti jopa soittaa ja tiedustella missä luuraavat. Paikan turvallisuus siis hieman kyseenalainen.
Huone ok, vähän kulahtanut, samoin kph, mutta riittävän siisti. Wifi hyvä.
- Mb_nz1 (2/5): Very nice staff but unfair treatment - Booked and paid for. When checking in, the room was downgraded for the room with half the price. Very damp and smelly, but the staff are very polite while offering no real solution. It was sad and unexpected start for this trip. Lucky I booked only one night to see if I like it first.
- Alessandro (10/5): - Fantastic place to stay in Pai. Staff/Owner is super friendly with great English. Hammock area is a great place to chill. Rooms have everything you need, ac and hot water work a treat. Not a single complaint. One of the better places I’ve stayed on my travels.
- Sarah-Beth-Traveler (8/5): Loving the Pai life! - We really enjoyed Pai as it had so much to offer! You definitely should rent a scooter to get about. The hotel was quick and easy to check into. The owner works very hard. However the hotel was a little dated and could do with some cleaning in the bathroom. Our beds were comfy and we had an amazing view! Great location as if was 5minute drive away from everything! We loved the night market too! Amazing street food! I didn’t like the fact the owners dog constantly barked at motor cycles and wasn’t friendly towards guests. However a lot of time and love has gone into the hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 1. Good service
2. Cleaning
3. Near walking street
- Andy (2/5): Beware of hotel description - overstated - This hotel is totally overstated in the description and by the photographs. The reception do not speak English and the hotel is very poor. Room looks out over some adjoining building roofs. Room is concrete with little comfort or feeling of security. Bathroom had ants. Breakfast appeared to be served in the alleyway leading to the rooms. We didnt stay here and found much better accomodation for very similar price nearby. Look again before chosing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - dog barked all night and couldn't get any sleep
not the cleanest room, no safe in the room
- jack (10/5): Will stay here again next time in pai - Great location, close to walking , but quite for sleeping
Asked for extra pillows and one more blanket,
Great services
Gerne wieder
- 615katrinaw (6/5): Lots of ants - This would have been a lovely place to stay if the room wasn’t full of ants. We booked to stay here as was cheap for a private room. We booked a double bed room and were given a twin (two single beds) we didn’t mind and there was a slight language barrier so didn’t worry about sorting it out. The room itself was good and spacious and In a good location. However there was lots of ants inside the room in clusters all over the bedside table bathroom and on the beds. Kept getting bitten by them through the night.
- Kattnipp (8/5): Great little place - Stayed for two nights, the bed was super comfortable, it was clean and quite. Hot shower worked great and the water pressure was strong.
We will definitely go back and stay there next time we come back to Pai.
- MsDeeChiangMai (8/5): Nice Place - The room is very nice and clean, staff are helpful. Disagree with what the other people say about rude and unfriendly staff. Location is perfect as it is a few steps away from walking street. However, it's quiet enough at night. We didn't try the breakfast. I would stay here again.
- Peter_hall1981 (2/5): rude and unfriendly staff - upon visiting pai, when we got there and started looking for accommodation, after looking at TripAdvisor we decided to go see this place. we wish we hadn't, the owner and staff were so rude, it was like they didnt want us there, we never felt so unwelcome, we left quickly and found other accommodation with lovely people there.
- Meyh30 (2/5): Alone in the hotel... - I don't usually submit reviews of anything,
But i just downloaded this app just to do this one.
The room isn't too bad I must admit.
But there is the manager, or atleast the woman at the reception...
You'll be lucky to find a smile a her face (I've seen one in four days), she doesn't speak english (I think she understands no more than 10 words, like price, room, motorcycle,..)
Oh yeah let's talk about motorcycles, there is no parking in the hotel, so obviously i park my motorcycle outside. She probably made me change my parking around 5 times in 4 days. Last one is about 20min ago (It's 6:40am btw), she knocked at my room while i was asleep, woke me up with her moans including motorcycle and showing the direction of mine, still 0 signs of smile on her face.
She will ask for sure you to pay aswell before the first night you do, don't ask me why.
And i could go on being here only four days.
I'd have left after the first night if i didn't have my motocyrcle accident and an unability to move,
(You can add the lack of empathy aswell if you still need reasons not to go there)
Would never recommend the hotel.
- alexmT1557YR (8/5): Nice stay, quiet location - During a motorbike tour, we stayed 1 night in this nice little hotel.
Space to park our bikes, next to their rental scooters at reception (road was empty if car parking required)
There is a small garden setting between each block, we had an upper room each. There was a balcony with chairs facing a vacant lot behind hotel.
Shower was pretty good, bed was to my liking and clean sheets, air-con was modern and worked well
No fridge in room, although I rarely use them, TV was modern flat screen.
Only a short walk down to busy streets with bars and cafe's.
We ate down by river at larger hotel
I would stay at Payi again
- Jason (8/5): - Good location, quiet, with a mounrain view.
- 419corinnas (8/5): Quite nice - Very colorful and nice Hostel in the Centre of pai! Every room Looks Different!
But Personal Not very warm and friendly!
But we would come again.
The shower is Special because the daylight comes in it. Almost clean, But there were some ants.
- martinr632015 (4/5): Unfriendly people and dirty rooms. - The black sheep under 10 different places I stayed during my trip through Thailand. Staff without one smile, rooms dirty, bathrooms awful smelling, even not sure if the beds were fresh ... no service at all. Don`t go there.
- watzbaer (2/5): CAUTION - We read the good reviews and were looking forward for a good time. Both of do not have ashtma or something. But the room was so moldy, that we ended up sleeping on the porch. We simply couldnt breath.😖
- yenlevn (6/5): Good location, average service, not very clean - This place is acceptable value for money. Can walk around the main streets and night market, but not noisy. The garden is nice and the view is great. Room has no fridge, facilities are average quality.
However, most of the time we have to communicate with an old lady who only spoke Thai. She yelled a lot and always wore an annoying face. She did smile a couple of times and we didn't think she meant annoying (Thai people are friendly) but still felt uncomfortable.
- 662shira (10/5): Excellent - Second time hear. Good value for money. clean room. and comfortable bed. Near to the night market. Good wifi signal. Lovely view of Pai from the balcony ( our room was on the second floor). I'm sure we comeback again.
- parissat11 (2/5): Avoid - Stayed at this place because it was cheap and the reviews seemed decent. We ended up checking out early. When we got there the room was full of spider webs and bugs. The sheets were stained which led me to believe the room wasn't cleaned before we got there. We weren't given new towels or new water during the day. I'm sure you can find somewhere better in Pai.
- Bournejack (2/5): Avoid, run by lying thieves - This place stole from me, a pair a shoes, literally the only thing that had not been locked down securely.
Once I confronted the owner her standard of English dropped drastically and acted as though she couldn't understand me. Even when I used a translation app on my phone to explain that my shoes had gone missing they continued to act confused. Saying that I must have lost them somewhere else.
I am 100% sure they stole from me, so be weary of your belongings should you end up there.
Up until this point it had been an OK stay, but I decided to check out early as I didn't want anymore of my belongings 'disappearing'!
Avoid at all cost!
- vanessa (4/5): Not worth it - When we checked in to Payi Resort we noticed there were many spiders on the ceiling as well as webs around the room. We had to call the staff back to clean it up. Our towels weren't changed, we weren't given new toilet paper and we weren't given new water. It was as if they forgot we were staying there. We checked out a day early and no one noticed. Although we had a decent view and good wifi I would avoid and find a cleaner room.
- estuardo (10/5): Beutiful balcony view - The room was great I decided to stay 3 more nights. I was given the upstairs room with balcony y and an awesome view.
- tvl (6/5): Fair - in the centre of pai, quite convenient.
But many ants and other insects..
- 916rubym (8/5): Cosy and Comfortable - We stayed here for two nights, I absolutely fell in love with pai, and this place was very close to the center city but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of the night markets, with it being only a 5 minutes walk.
The beds in the place have been the most comfy beds we've slept in and the rooms were a good size and very clean.
The bathroom gave a bit of an odd smell but nothing too bad and there were lots of ants but nothing to scare you away! no aircon in our room but the fan did a perfect job! I would definitely stay again!
- DieuVan (4/5): The guesthouse would be great if... - I would not have many ant trails in my room. And unfortunately they didn't clean my room. When I came back from a trip my bed was still in the same state as I left it in the morning. It is a very pitty, otherwise I would give a better rate.
- gw/ap (6/5): good location. acceptable room conditions. good AC - There was an infestation of ants in our room and rats kept us up at night on the roof :( recc ground floor
- 563kathring (8/5): Great value for the money - I am backpacking with a friend and always looking for nice and affordable hotels.
Payi resort was a really good experience. It is centrally located and the rooms are charming and clean.
We greatly appreciated the staff. Lovely people who offered good recommendation for restaurants and we good a good price for scooter rental.
Would go there again!
- 435andrewe (6/5): Ok, not great location - Hello!
I'm writing this a little late but realized I need to start writing posts versus just reading them :).
Pai was a great end to my Thailand trip earlier this year. This hotel is very basic but there are other options in Pai that are both cheaper and closer to the main "strip". Also, it was a decent walk from the bus stop. One plus is that it is a few blocks away but everything shuts down very early so the noise isn't a problem.
