The Italian restaurant really was amazing The breakfast buffet was outstanding—nothing was overlooked. The omelette with cheese and mushrooms exceeded expectations, both in taste and presentation, as it was freshly prepared for each guest. There was an impressive variety of food and desserts, all of which were delicious. Don’t miss the chocolate fudge—it’s exceptional. The waffles were also a highlight, served hot and made fresh on request. The service was equally remarkable. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cheerful. Special thanks to Islam and Chef Hossam for going above and beyond to make our experience even more enjoyable. Nothing

Smarty0nline (10/5): Exceptional - the staff here are incredible - Our stay here was exceptional and so much more than we expected. With one of us having a dairy and egg allergy it can be really difficult to get food and be safe in hotels, even 5* ones. The chefs were outstanding here. At breakfast the chef came and met us, took my wife around showing her everything she could have allergy free. He then also made her some grilled vegetables fresh. Breakfast was all round excellent. Same experience at dinner, the chef came over and made my wife’s meal from scratch. It was so good. Thanks chef Mohammed and also Ahmed. The massage team in the spa were amazing too. As was Marcelina guest relations. The room service and housekeeping were also exceptional. Special mention to Latifa and Farha at breakfast - they even remembered the way we like our coffee and what we ordered for breakfast the day before. The team round the pool are always making sure you have everything you need. We’ve actually cancelled out other hotel at the end of our tour in Cairo - even though we’ve already paid for it, and we’re going to go back to stay at the Kempinski again. It was the best way to stay our holiday and we want to end it the same way. Oh thank you to everyone there - you totally made our stay special. There is only one thing which I would say could be better. The thermal indoor pool 1) isn’t warm and 2) needs a refurb. The ceiling is a bit mouldy and it looks very tired and a bit dirty, especially compared to the rest of the spa.

naa862 (10/5): Our stay in the Kempinski hotel was amazing ! - Our stay at the Kempinski Hotel in Cairo with our family was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. The staff were consistently kind, attentive, and respectful, which made traveling with family so much more comfortable. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. A special thank you to Mohamed Reda, who took care of our room. He ensured everything was always clean, well-organized, and fully restocked. His friendliness and dedication really stood out and did not go unnoticed. Traveling as a family can sometimes be demanding, but the level of care and service we experienced made everything feel smooth and relaxed. We are grateful for the experience and would happily recommend this hotel to other families visiting Cairo.

Clare (9/5): The staff were the best bit, every single member of staff were exceptional. - Beds exceptionally comfortable, good size TV and good selection of channels, bathroom large, storage excellent. Overall look/proportion/aspect of room pleasing. Excellent room service and housekeeping, very attentive staff, when requested items they were quick to replenish ( ie extra coffee capsules or tea bag's) The State Room where breakfast was superb, did you most proud. Mohammed went great lengths to show us Egyptian breakfast/foods which we continued to eat every day of our 7 day stay. Hugely grateful too, that on last day, we had a 5am start for airport, a breakfast box was brought to our room, a real Godsend. Italian restaurant, excellent pizzas ( best outside of Rome) and a lovely touch at lunchtime to bring a slice out to all sitting at poolside. Lastly, superb service from the Head Concierge and Asst. Concierge concerning private tour around the Pyramids. The Independent guide Mahmoud Mayo was superb- incredibly well informed on all historic/political/geographical aspects of Egyptian culture and was most charming too. Thank you to all the wonderful Staff, from security, doormen, reception, waiters, cleaners... all were so incredibly kind, helpful and always with a smile. It showed Egyptian people have an utmost generous kind and giving personality and definitely a reason to come back to your beautiful country. Room 2122 The design interior starting to look shabby ( ie fabric on chairs/ottoman at end of bed stained and bed curtilage ripped) Curtains impractical ( no need for excess layering)made opening and closing a nightmare Awful low level blue light in bathroom ( not needed) Face flannels when used, were never replaced. Would prefer instead of trying to simulate Asian Fusion dishes ( which obviously chef had difficulty reproducing)instead to have Egyptian food- which is utterly delicious and what most visitors to Egypt want to savour.

Yasmeen (10/5): A wonderful place to get away from a weekend and forget your worries... - Loved everything, the convenience of the location, the beautiful rooms, the comfy beds, the great service and hospitable staff! The housekeeping team including Mr Ahmed and Mr Gamal were so friendly and accommodating, bringing us random items we asked for whenever we needed. We went as a short weekend getaway for relaxation and some luxury, and enjoyed it to the max. Our package included breakfast and daily spa access, and it all exceeded our expectations. Hope to be back soon! The thermal pool in the spa could have been heated more for the full luxury experience. Really the only thing that disappointed me in the whole trip, and the rest of the spa was wonderful so I really didn't mind all that much.

She took wonderful care of my wife, my two-year-old child, and myself every morning with genuine warmth and attentiveness. The entire breakfast team at the hotel is fantastic, and the level of service across the restaurant is consistently excellent. However, Christin deserves a special mention as she was our table waitress and ensured that every detail was taken care of. Her positive attitude and sincere hospitality made a real difference to our stay. This is our fourth time returning to the hotel, and the main reason we keep coming back is the incredible team and the exceptional hospitality they provide. Staying here truly feels like a home away from home, warm, welcoming, and consistently comfortable. A big thank you to Christin and the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We look forward to returning again.

kevin (5/5): Disappointing - The hotel was a true disappointment... The reception staff were boring and not helpful..even after I repeatedly talked to them about my room... The lights and current kept going off in the room and the reception told me it was the sensors in the room..but in the middle of taking a shower and while watching tv, the current would go off and i was in complete blackout..a bit scary and so unlike any hotel I hsve stayed in.

However, like genie from the bottle Mohamed Said showed up and authorized us to have meal at the Lucca restaurant. He arranged for staff to tend to our needs and we were treated to white glove treatment. My hat is off to the whole team at the State and Lucca. Bravo!!!

184alf (2/5): Basic accomodation and subpar customer service - My family of 4 stayed at the Royal Kempinski for 2 nights. The TLDR version is that the place is run with good intentions and inadequate oversight. We chose this hotel because the Kempinski brand is synonymous with luxurious quality and attention to detail. This specific location showcased a lovely outdoor pool, sunbathing spots and a kids club that promised to keep my 6-year-old entertained. After checking in at 3:30 pm, we went straight to the pool. 5 minutes in, a lifeguard informed us the pool would close down earlier that day due to "Ramadan-related construction" and that we needed to leave by 5 pm. He then went on to say that this would also extend to the remainder of our 2-night stay. I spoke to the reception desk who said they would look into this. An hour later, I got a phone call confirming the above and offering me an exception for my daughter to use the indoor pool the next day, which is otherwise adults only. Looking to save what's left of this stay, we went to explore the kids club. Despite the nice set up, the foosball table was missing a ball. We asked the clerk at the club about it. After calling someone else to confirm, she came back to inform us the ball had been missing for a while, and said the available alternative was a small dice. A dice cube to play foosball! We later bought our own balls from a play store nearby to be able to use the foosball table the next day. The other feature was a PS5, which was a nice touch. As with everything else, it also did not work because it was not connected to the internet. Asking 2 different clerks over that evening and the following day about this was pointless, as they just kept reiterating that the machine "works". Explaining the internet issue fell on deaf ears, so I resorted to using my mobile phone as a hotspot for the PS5 to get my daughter, who was understandably upset at this point, to be able to play. The next morning, we woke up to a puddle behind the toilet, who we thought may have been self-induced. We went down for breakfast, which was the only redeeming quality of our stay. The food was great, and Christine, our server over the 2 mornings we stayed there, was very caring and attentive. The rest of the day unfortunately did not go as well as we'd hoped, but as bad as we've expected. I took my daughter to the indoor pool, which she could only muster all of 20 minutes in because of the extreme humidity. We then went to the outside pool to find the sunbathing chairs gone, and construction workers banging around the now inaccessible pool. The hamering and banging transpired for the whole day, and with it any chance of enjoying the day by the pool. We woke up on the morning of check out to find a new puddle behind the toilet, confirming a more possible leak than a self-induced drizzle. I've relayed most of my experience to one of the customer service representatives, who was nice and apologetic. Unfortunately, there was nothing she could do to salvage this. Should there have been prior notice of ongoing construction and lack of pool and sunbathing access, I would have cancelled my reservation and went elsewhere. Despite the kind, unapologetic words, the whole experience was shockingly subpar for a Kempinski hotel, and a clear example of how little thought goes to customer experience in this place.

Breakfast was awesome 1) reception offered walk-in price if ~730 usd per night while booking.com tariff was around 330 usd... We had to book 2 rooms sitting in front of reception and wait till they are dropped through the system 3) sauna was out of order, swimming pool is dirty and poorly maintained, hamam is more like a hell too hot and too humid ... 4) door into bathroom is super narrow ... don't know why :)))
