- Richard (10/5): Worth the stay! - This was an amazing hotel. Lots of history to it! Has an old western feel, with a modern touch! Extremely clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable! Family owned and operated! There was only a basic breakfast!
- Vanessa (9/5): Historic comfortable stay amongst Old Town, ocean, and redwoods. - Location is perfectly nestled near Old Town Eureka, making the walks to shops and restaurants super easy. Also right across the street from the pier for great ocean views. The hotel itself feels ancient and beautifully crafted, like you're stepping back in time! If you love history, architecture, and like a unique experience this is the hotel for you! In other reviews, I saw that there were issues with noise complaints out on the street but we didn't experience any of that. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Also, the two restaurants/bars located inside the hotel were fantastic, was so nice to grab a drink at night and head up to the room! There is a parking lot there but during the day, does require you to pay unless you can find street parking. Not ideal but not a deal breaker.

- LeeAnn (5/5): Cute but not very comfortable. - The bed was very comfortable The window in the room did not have a proper curtain. It was very difficult to close and block out the window. I had to clip it shut and it just barely blocked the window. Also unfortunately, the property is in an area where there are a lot of homeless people walking around. The hotel has to lock the door early in the evening to keep them out I think.

There were no exterior windows which we were not told before the booking. Lots of interesting stuff to see in eureka, though. Great restaurant at the end of the building called Gallagher's highly recommended.
- Ethan (10/5): This historic old town inn certainly beats any cheaper or similarly priced options in the area. - The best part was definitely the Historic interiors, most old hotels remodel with ugly modern furniture, this place keeps it OG. The layout really seems dream like with the alternating levels and rooms around the main hall. Not to mention the location is exquisite being within 2 blocks of everything you would want to see. Me and my lady kept fighting.

- Jayne (7/5): Für einen kurzen Auftenthalt in Eureka eine sehr gute Wahl. - Die Lage war super, in Sichtweite des Wassers, mitten in der charmanten Altstadt von Eureka, dennoch mit eigenem, kostenlosem Parkplatz. Das kleine Frühstück am Morgen war im Foyer/Wohnzimmer des Inns nett hergerichtet, obwohl es nur 2 Sitzplätze an einem Tisch gab - die übrigen 5-6 Sitzplätze auf dem Sofa oder Sessel am Kaffeetisch waren vielleicht etwas weniger optimal. Insgesamt hat die Inn B&B-Charakter, was uns gut gefiel. Vor allem das Irische Restaurant/Bar hat uns sehr gut gefallen, und wir bekamen einen schönen Tisch für 2 Personen ohne Reservierung am Abend unserer Ankunft. Wir wurden leider nicht vorher unterrichtet, dass unser Zimmer kein Fenster hatte. Dadurch, dass es am Ballsaal angrenzte, war zwar ein kleiner "Balkon" zum Ballsaal hin vorhanden, aber leider kein Fenster nach Außen. Durch ein Zimmertausch (immerhin), bekamen wir ein Innenzimmer, das zumindest Dachfenster (nicht zu öffnen, eins im Schlafbereich, eins im Bad) hatte, was das Zimmer etwas heller machte. Das nächste Mal würde ich bei der Buchung darauf achten, vielleicht ein bestimmtes Zimmer zu bestellen (das bietet die Unterkunft im Nachgang zur Bestellung an), oder eine Preisgruppe höher zu buchen.

Older furniture in room not big enough for even carry on luggage. Breakfast a disappointment. Scones over cooked and tough. As a former cooking instructor they were really, really bad.

- Lynn (6/5): - Considering the architectural heritage and strong presence of artists in Eureka, the hotel lacked the charm, verve and pride it might have. Instead, it was dingy and in need of the attention of an artistic hand in fixing it up both inside and out to tastefully make it shine. Clearly the hotel (and town?) is struggling, but likely owned by someone with weak good taste and little imagination- it wouldn’t take much to make the place a stunner. Too, the energy of the staff reflected the state of the building - nearly every last receptionist ( and we encountered more than six in our 4 night stay) was downright unfriendly, unwelcoming and inhospitable- they seemed unhappy; it was uncanny considering these people are in a hospitality business. On a positive note, the architecture of the building itself was authentic and our room was spacious with high ceilings. We appreciated the white noise machine as the area was exceptionally noisy all night, most nights. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The headboard, matching night stands and other pieces of furniture were antique and beautiful. There was ample lighting and plenty of power outlets. The Wifi worked well. A nice touch was a press pot for coffee.

- John (6/5): ENJO=\ - A WONDERFUL OLD BUILDING, VERY UNIQUE. A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE TO STAY THERE IN SUCH AN OLD BUILDING. GREAT LOCATION IN OLD TOWN. BECAUSE THE BUILDING IS SO OLD ONE CANNOT EXCEPT THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS A NEW BUILDING. HOWEVER, THE BAR CLOSE BY WAS VERY NOISY AND THE PEOPLE LIVING ROUGH IN THE STREET BELOW ALSO CAUSED MUCH NOISE AND THE MOTERCYCLE NOISE WAS VERY UNPLEASANT.

Irish bar on site also very good. Couldn’t get any wifi in either room we tried despite staff trying it was totally impossible. Was ok in public areas but nothing in out room.

Parties can be held in the center and side rooms, which can be heard throughout hotel. We were invited to join, so if you like to party, you would enjoy!

The windows in our room opened over the interior public space and as such had to be curtained and closed for privacy. This made the room feel stuffy and too warm.

- Lisa (7/5): Great location and old world vibe make this a nice getaway if you can afford it. - The beds and linens were great and the decor was antique and very beautiful. The room was spacious. The area is ideal for walking and the attached bar is cozy and nice. I love the concert venue and would return for that alone. It has an old world vibe that is definitely very inviting. Black out curtains would have kept a very bright light from shining into the room at night...the shower door was broken and required a special lifting to close. I have a bad hand and arm and without my daughter could not have closed it. The street outside was incredibly loud because of the bar...we did request a quiet room and it was anything but quiet. Also the elevator was very loud every time it was in use it woke me up! Breakfast was adequate but could be improved with a few additions like hard boiled eggs and/or nicer pastry. The morning staff did not smile nor greet me any time I approached and it seemed as thought I was just a nuisance to them. The price is at the top for hotels and with all the issues we had, I probably would only book if blackout curtains and quiet room and shower door were better.

It was so big and the bed was very comfortable. The ceilings throughout the hotel are a work of art. There was much to look at and admire just on our way to our room. The added bonus was that the Friday night fair was going on so we were able to walk straight from our hotel to see what people were selling at the booths within a few minutes. N/A

Staff were very friendly. Asked for a cot for my 3 month old- was given a roll out bed (American version of cot!) so had to use the mattress on the floor. A pack and play would have made the stay perfect.

- Ronald (8/5): Classic "Old Dame" Hotel. - Wife and I spent 4 nights in Eureka and found this hotel. Great location, with walking distance to most of good restaurants in town. There are a fair amount of homeless or down on their luck around but we never had any problems. Probably common for California. The hotel is a classic old dame and our room was very unique but cozy. Lots of early 1900 charm but bathroom was modern, roomy and worked well. Recommend this place for people that want a unique, old time experience. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

- Michelle (6/5): Just ok. - We liked the look of the building. Went to all the floors and loved the decor. There was a dance the night we stayed. Ticket taker set up literally outside our door. That was kinda weird. Party and decorations in our hallway was fun. Music didn’t bother us at all. Old feel was cool. With that being said no air conditioning no fridge no microwave and the furniture is of course old to go with the vibe. Location not the greatest. You’re across from homeless shelter type situation. Didn’t have any issues with that. There was commotion in the morning with yelling and emergency services taking someone away. If you dont mind city sounds and like history feel this is a cool place. If you’re looking for luxury with all the bells and whistles I would say maybe not. For the price I think I was expecting more.

- Linnea (8/5): A lovely, cozy space with beautiful decor minutes from historic Old Town Eureka - Very lovely space and incredible attention to detail in terms of maintaining the victorian vibe. Breakfast was of the continental variety, simple but well-rounded. The bar downstairs, Phatsy Kline's, is an amazing spot to spend a few hours--excellent cocktails too! It's a short walk to the shops and eateries in old town, and a short drive to many of the celebrated sights of the county. In terms of lodging options in and around Eureka, this is an excellent choice for its storied history, welcoming ambiance, and quaint decor. The rooms facing 2nd street overlook a rough part of the downtown area. Each night of our stay, there was some kind of ruckus in the wee hours: an individual screaming while dumping out trash bins, a group of people shouting louder and louder as they went their separate ways, and, on the final morning, a woman screaming incredibly racist, profane threats. We could hear these instances through the closed windows and were not too bothered, able to go back to sleep once it calmed down; however, light sleepers would likely be uncomfortable.

- Erika (10/5): Stay here - The staff was informative related to the history behind the Inn. We were given a tour by HR. I can imagine the social gatherings that occurred here. The interior is unique and beautiful.

- Catherine (10/5): Very old fashioned quaint place - Stayed one night and it was really comfortable. The decor is crazy and mismatched but quite sweet all the same, the property is old and has a creaky charm. Our room was a large triple aspect and very light and airy. Breakfast was adequate with tea coffee porridge yogurt fruit and scones. We ate at the restaurant across the street for dinner and that did good fish /seafood. Great location easy parking safe area. They took a $100 ‘bond’ but I’m still awaiting its return, hopefully soon.

- Hugo (1/5): HIDDEN CAMERAS - I ran a scan for hidden cameras using "WiFi Toolkit", which is produced by a reliable company called TP-link. It detected two hidden cameras in room 33, as shown in the attached picture. I have used the app for a number of years. We had booked 4 nights, but left after one, as that was when we detected the hidden cameras. I did say to the staff that I recognised that it may well not have been the hotel who put on these hidden cameras. Online sources suggest that around 10% of tourist accommodation has hidden cameras. The IP addresses for the two cameras were: 192.168.1.160, which had the following open ports 80, 554, 35000. The other camera was on 192.168.1.102. There was also evidence that the cameras were using a video transmission protocol. There was also a potentially suspicious IP address 192.168.1.103, with the open port 34594. There was a sound cancelling device in the room, but unplugging that did not change the findings when the detection app was run again. I raised the issue with the management. Their response seemed to be that these cameras were on the ground floor in a public space, but we were on the third floor, and so I find that explanation Implausible. ..................... - Wesley (10/5): - This is the second time we have stayed at Inn @ 2nd & C. We came back because the unique rooms, quirky architecture, and the friendly staff. It does show its age a bit, but that's part of its charm.
- Deepi (6/5): Needs tlc - Cute historic inn downtown, free parking lot by entrance. Simple continental breakfast included in lobby. Staffing seems minimal (front desk is only staffed until 8pm). There are spaces upstairs and downstairs used for events so you may hear that. I like to go out of my way to stay in interesting places and support historic inns. However, this inn needs more work and some tasteful updates to the decor — for example the elevator has a strong musty smell (known issue, I saw a couple of those charcoal bags in the corners), the furniture creaks (could clearly hear the couple in bed upstairs!), some of the framed posters were faded, there are no blackout curtains. I hope it improves in the future, Eureka needs more options with character.

- Diane (9/5): Loved it here! - I loved the mystery, old style, excellent & friendly staff (Jessica). The building is a maze & it took us a bit to figure out how to navigate around. I loved it! I could have walked around for hours enjoying the photos and nooks and crannies. No fridge in room or coffee maker, but it didn't matter, because it was set up downstairs & they held our leftovers in their fridge.
