Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great management. Very accommodating multiple rooms available.
- Brian (4/5): Bungled booking - Tried to check in hotel had no record of my booking. I called hotels.com and eventually got a call back. I was concerned that if I paid for a room that I would get charged twice for the same room. The hotel manager was great. He gave me the room and wouldn't take payment for it until this is fixed. I am not very happy with hotels.com service
- Sandra (10/5): - Very clean and quiet room. Excellent place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent value - We were impressed with how cute the property was when we arrived. The manager gave us the ability to view and pick from two room options. Rooms weren’t large, but they were clean and comfortable. When others staying in the same unit opened or closed their doors, we could feel it shake our room. That was common throughout the various hotels we stayed at during our road trip. It didn’t bother us, but it might be a concern for some.
One thing to be aware of is that this property’s reservation system doesn’t update the property immediately. If you book on your to the inns, you may need to be patient while they wait for your reservation to come through.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Felt like family. Hospitality great, convemient comfortable
- Marta (8/5): keppoch review - great place for an overnight accommodation
- caroll_sc (2/5): - Rooms were clean.
Unfortunately, the owner is extremely rude and treat us very bad.
There was no reason whey we should be treated bad.
I do not recommend this place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great guy at front desk who I think was the owner. He was amazing! Property is nice and very clean. Only spent one night but it was a great experience. Thabk5 stars!
- Joe (2/5): - The owner is a retired Royal Canadian Mountie and he still maintains this police officer attitude with the customers he is a bully he was gone for a couple hours so we went into the office to stay an extra night booked the room with his son went back to our room he comes back to the property I’m assuming unaware of this left three different notes one on my vehicle and one on our door that we should contact him the very next morning he screams at me out of the office door to come and pay him which we already paid him the day before acted like I stole money from him and insisted that I produce a receipt he asked me if I had one and I told him yes that it was back in the room in our suitcase he made me go back and get it and prove to him that I paid for the additional night or he was going to charge me again for it and they also insisted that we check out
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The pic is misleading as it is of the office. The rooms are old cabins that are decaying. The carpeting is thick with dark grease. Two times I went to office the clerk was on phone in another room or unavailable. Considering the price we were expecting something above sub-budget quality.
- Lois (10/5): - Easy to find and close to downtown. Very friendly staff.
- Ted (8/5): - Was clean & just what I expected for the price, a good value.
- Natasha (10/5): - Room was very clean and tidy. Microwave and fridge in the room. Nice to be able to park right outside your door. Owner was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good for the money. The staff was very helpful.
- J (8/5): - Older motel, a little run down but exceptionally clean. Good location.
- Cecil (10/5): - Was looking for a place last minute, was able to get in with no hassle.
- Jay (8/5): - It’s centrally located, close to supermarkets, food, easy access to the highway. The front desk was only opened until 9pm and the property manager sleeps early so don’t expect to get any service after 10pm.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and understanding we arrived very late. He got back up for us. Clean no mess hotel.
- Roy (10/5): The very best - Gary the owner of the Inn was absolutely terrific couldn’t have done more for me.The room was spotless and clean and the best value for money that I have had on this trip so far.I will stay here again if I am ever past this way
- William (10/5): Very nice - Stag was awesome, and very clean rooms
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok their is no parking and the surrounding was not the best
- Charles (10/5): would stay there again for sure - great trip, realy nice place to stay, nice an close to alot of things
- Renee (10/5): Good value! - Nice place with great staff!
- Donna (8/5): - The owner is great. Quiet area and a peaceful sleep beautiful little spot .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place for one night - This was a good place to stay for a night in Antigonish. We arrived later than 9pm but called ahead to ask if that was ok; the very friendly man at the front desk said not to rush and he was happy to check us in a little later. The room was very clean, the beds comfortable (a little on the soft side), overall the place is a little outdated but totally fine for a night or two. Not much in the area as far as we could tell - although you can drive into town quickly. I would stay here if I ever pass through this area again.
- Terry (10/5): - Super clean and best lit motel room in which I've ever stayed. Kudos to maid for doing superior work!
- Brandi (10/5): Cozy and relaxing atmosphere - The motel room is very nice and cozy. It’s very clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff and owner are very welcoming! The young man at the front desk was very kind and checked to not only make sure our stay was going well but even made sure our connection to the wifi and everything was working right! There is nice seating outside each room to enjoy your morning coffee and their ac works amazing! Loved my experience and will be staying again!
- Angela (8/5): - Check in and out were easy. Room was clean. Motel is close to town and other shopping areas so good starting or stoping point.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Should not be listed as a Hotel, it is a Motel.
- When we arrived we had a very small room with no amenities at all. There were 3 of us and only 2 sets of towels. No chairs to sit on. We complained that this is not what we signed up for. The owner put us in a full kitchen unit, with 2 bathrooms and two double beds. It was certainly a lot better. We had to ask for a coffee pot and cups. In all the Hotels that we have stayed in there was a blow dryer in the bathroom, but there was none here. We had a problem with the heat coming on, so we had to turn the A/C on to make it comfortable. After a few days that was fixed. So our experience here was a little less that what we had expected .. It is certainly A Motel, not a Hotel......
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel was great. Staff in office upon check-in very rude. Seems like he had zero
patience with us upon check-in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): vac - The room was clean and everything I expected.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathrooms were very clean however it smelled of cabbage . We had to spray with room freshner numerous times.
- Mark (8/5): Just what we needed... - Looking for a clean place to sleep for the night, don't need the frills or a breakfast, this is just fine. Owner was friendly, place seemed very safe. Good place..
- Verified traveler (8/5): Homeward Inn - We were moved to the owner's other hotel, the Homeward Inn and it was perfect for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good motel location but be careful address. - This is very good motel but easy to misunderstand address,
- geraldine (8/5): Antigonish - Good value for price charged
- louis (2/5): Price - Hotel owner very bad attitude.....won't let you finish a sentence . No patience. .....if there was another place to stay noway I would have stayed. Some.point in time someone is going to knock him out......while I was waiting yo get checked in other customers lost it with him his name is Gary
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget stay for budget price - We were looking for a cheap place to stay overnight. The place was clean, in a good location with easy access to downtown Antigonish.
- JJ (6/5): Disappointing Hospitality - The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom provided a clean and hot shower. Staff was stressed and it came across as rude which I found to be a little stressful after driving down from the north. It was quiet despite being busy and on the long weekend when university students are moving back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice little spot close to St. FX - Great place to stay when taking kids to University and need a close by motel to spend the night that doesn't cost a fortune. It is obviously an older motel but they have made some very nice up dates. It was very very clean. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.
- Verified traveler (8/5): basic roadside motel - basic roadside motel. Fridge but no coffee maker or microwave.
- Rod (6/5): good place for quick stopovers - we got what we needed which was a place to crash after a long drive.
- Verified traveler (2/5): WOULD NOT RECOMMEND - This was the absolute worst place I have ever stayed. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer in all of my 20 years of travelling to Antigonish.
- Travel Blogger (4/5): A Bad Experience - I'm a travel agent and booked this hotel for a client. I had read all the information on the site about the late check in after 10pm to call to make arrangements. My client informed me that they were going to be later than 10pm for the arrive, so I informed the client to call the location. When the client called the location the guy had informed her that late check in was only available until 11:30pm. The client explain that she was going to be 11:38pm based on the guy giving her the Walmart location as the address did not pick up in the GPS. He told he would see what he could do. Nowhere on the site does it tell travel agents or clients that late check in is only available until 11:30pm. The client explain that she was trying to get there as quickly as possible. She had been driving all day from Niagara Falls with her 10 year old daughter and boyfriend. It was getting dark and they were driving quickly but safely as possible. The client arrives at the Walmart location and the location of facility is nowhere to be found. It took them a bit longer trying to find the location. They arrived later than they thought. Upon arrival they guy was rude told them the keys were in the door, lights were on and slammed the door. Absolutely no need, everyone is tired at this point but this is not a way to greet your clients who will only be getting a few hours of sleep as they have to leave early in the morning to make the boat. I would not recommend based on guys rudeness.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I can't recommend this place to anyone unless you don't have a choice at all.
- Merry (10/5): Great place to stay, owners are fantastic - I did not see the fine print that the front desk was open until 10pm only; the owner was extremely nice about this and stayed there until our arrival (just before midnight as we were delayed). GPS died and so he also walked me through the directions from the highway (it is just off the highway so very convenient). I really appreciated the consideration as it had been a very long day! Would definitely stay again (and not arrive late); it was a great jumping-off point for the Cabot Trail.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We didn't expect too much with it being such a low price so we didn't mind it being older or dated. However, it was very clean and to me this is more important. It was comfortable and a great price for a clean, relaxing stay. Thanks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The inn was in a good location, and the room was comfortable, but the manager was unfriendly.
- Ian (6/5): - Wifi was not working at the hotel so we were sent to another hotel owned by the same management. Second hotel was fine but process was a little weird.
- Verified traveler (6/5): The town is very nice - They were cleaning the carpets and sent us to another hotel close by.
