• David (9/5): - This motel is very large, with complete facilities and a well-organized environment. It also has its own unique culture. I think the location is very convenient, and I really like it here. The paid parking lots nearby are too far away. Even if you use paid parking, it’s still not very convenient. This place is more suitable for backpackers or people without a car.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. I accidentally left my phone behind after leaving Christchurch, and the reception team safely kept it for me until my next stay. I really appreciated their honesty and support. Nothing negative to mention. Everything was perfect during my stay.

• Abi (7/5): - Fantastic location. Massive kitchen. Bathroom occasionally ran out of loo roll. We had a weird sky light in our room with no blind, so we were up when the sun came up.

• Adam (8/5): it was good especially for the price - the room was nice and clean and the location of the place was good on the 1st night some guys where drinking and being noisy at 1am, the 2nd thing was the vending machine took my money and didn't give me my water
• Peter (9/5): Clean and fun vibe close to so many things to do. - The facilities were above what we expected, very clean and orderly. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. The location was exceptional, allowing us to walk wherever we needed or extremely close to the super stop bus terminal that ran to every where we wanted. Plenty of cafe's, pubs and restaurants within 100m of the door. Room was over heated during the day. Though it had very cheap soft drinks it would have been nice if they actually had a bar on site as the lounge was good to hang out in but that is probably unrealalistic.

• Romane (7/5): - Très bon emplacement et beaucoup de services Très bruyant du fait qu’il y ait énormément de monde, difficile de trouver de la place dans la cuisine il faut réfléchir à l’heure à laquelle y aller, mais le plus embêtant et le bruit la nuit des portes qui claquent, et bon le couloir reste allumé toute la nuit et cela filtre sous laquelle porte, c’est un peu dommage…

• Webb (9/5): Good place - The way that they have some things on most nights the big screen in the hung out area how central it is to everything That I forgot that it was a drinking hostel so you couldn't watch TV as there where no one around to be able to tall them to keep the noise down My advice is to have a place for drinkers away from the TV area

• Jacqueline (8/5): Location, comfort, nice balance of friendly people and opportunity for privacy. - URBANZ provides a comfortable and clean, well-supplied accommodation facility in central Christchurch. I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm, and slept well due to the comfort of the bed and the consideration of my 5 roommates (both nights). I note that the behaviour of other guests isn't easily controlled by Urbanz, so I was fortunate. I appreciated the privacy curtains. Having lived in Japan and stayed many times in pod hostels, the privacy/insulation from sound isn't quite as good, but it's still as good as you get in NZ. Overall fine; I had some trouble with my access card resetting itself, but the staff were very helpful to address this as soon as they were advised.

• JUANITA WA (9/5): I would definitely stay here again. - There's a nice kitchen area, the bunks are solid and comfortable, each with sockets and a light. Spacious bathrooms. Great staff, free coffee and tea supplies with milk powder for use. Laundry service is provided. It's an easy walk from the central bus station. It could do with a small, and really cosy, comfortable seating area with lounging chairs, sofas etc. Everything is a bit hard and sparse.

• Leslie (6/5): A lively hostel in a great location. - It was a fun place to land in Christchurch. Great location. We enjoyed the pool table, the darts, and the tea and coffee making facilities. The room was pretty rough and ready but we were only there for one night, and did not spend much time in the room itself. Helpful and friendly staff, good-humoured fellow guests. Very close to a great pub/ restaurant called the Church Pub. For someone expecting an actual hotel, best to look elsewhere. This place is a sort of cross between a hostel and a student dorm.

Kitchen was a good size and well stocked with cooking Appliances. Bathroom was clean. I prefer an ensuited room. I really did not like the top bunk ladder. I often Ask for the top bunk but this ladder is death defying as it’s too narrow and was quite an ordeal to get down. I am Quite used to ladders but this one was in a word, dangerous!

Our room was extremely small and no windows or airflow, had to leave door open just to get fresh air in. We recognise it was what we chose to pay for however.

• Karen (8/5): A lovely handy spot close to the CBD so you can enjoy the heart of Christchurch. Friendly staff. - Really like the new privacy curtains on the bunk beds and the plugs/usb plugs and lights in the bunk spaces. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen is huge and always clean. No hooks or towel rails in the room to hang your wet towels or wet clothes/coats if it rains. The new huge deep storage cupboards to store gear in under the bunks are not well organised. You literally have to crawl into it to retrieve things if they go too deep into the space. It might be useful to have a sliding drawer inside the space so things can be slid out without having to climb into the space.

• Rosnita (9/5): Great stay! - Big kitchen and lounge area, comfortable beds. Nothing that I don’t like. But it would be perfect if the lower bunk bed at the dorm has 1 or 2 hooks to hang the towel.
