Guest Reviews
- stanley (2/5): - dirty and soiled pillows. foul odor.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Recommended - Just right for single traveler. Attractive setting next to golf course. Had dinner at club house bar. Good.
- Rachel (8/5): - A little shabby and kitchenette was poorly stocked (forks but no spoons, etc.) but very friendly and welcoming staff and very quiet nights sleep.
- Maureen (2/5): - Low water pressure. Cramped and ineffective shower. Toilet ran all night. Towels very rough. I paid for breakfast - there was none available. I checked fridge - there was an open can of condensed milk that was brown. Disgusting!
Read only recent reviews! Reputation should be downgraded to 1 star.
- Jennifer (2/5): Eek! - Run down motel, very small room, closet door broken, handle to window broken, spiders in bathroom, no complimentary breakfast, pillows were not comfortable, left without showering… just wanted to get out of there. The woman who checked me in and out was very nice. The only positive I have to report I’m afraid. Oh and if you like to golf, it’s right next to golf course.
- Mark (8/5): - If you need a place for the night it is a good value. Convient , clean, priced right. Need maintenance
- Martin (6/5): - Quiet place when traveling US-2 across Montana and North Dakota.
- J (10/5): - The owners have nice motel just needs some cleaning up of there outdoor space
- Steven (10/5): - First of all, it was the most welcoming and home feeling motel I've ever stayed at in my 20 plus years of traveling. I literally slept all night for the first time high school.
- Maggi (8/5): - Property is a bit dated but was clean and comfortable. The beds were memory foam which may not be ideal for some travellers but I didn't mind.
- David (6/5): - Room was clean and bed was comfortable but peelig paint and ultra cheap carpet tiles with dated fixtures make this a 2 star. Histess was a 5 star.
- Troy (10/5): - Absolutely love this place! Kids enjoyed it too! Would stay here again!
- Carson (4/5): Do yourself a favor and keep driving! - We chose motel based on 8.8 reviews. No way this is an excellent stay! Place had zero curb appeal. When walking in, there were two pieces of exercise equipment standing among trash and debris in the entryway. Next room looked like someone’s living room complete with discarded shoes in front of the couch. There was no front desk. We stood there and waited for someone to come out and greet us.
Room was dark and dated. Everything was brown and dark - curtains, sheets, bedspread, carpet, chairs. Couldn’t tell if it was clean or not. Felt like it wasn’t! Room had very strong plug in air freshener smell. We unplugged it! Bed was very comfortable and air was cold.
Bathroom had large mirror and was well lit. Toilet was dirty, shower curtain was very dirty, and water had a strong sulphur smell.
Hotel overlooked golf course, but that’s where the curb appeal ended. Property and grounds were very unkept. Rooms had only a keyed lock and no deadbolt. We slept with chair against door. Had we not prepaid on hotels.com, we would have not stayed.
- Jeanne (6/5): - Very different experience from 5 years ago when we stayed here. Will not stay here again.
- Eileen (10/5): - This hotel was a great stop for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the hotel is very convenient if you are heading west towards Glacier or east towards Chicago. The property itself does need a little TLC, but I would still recommend this hotel.
- John (6/5): No Front Desk - There was nobody out in front to greet us checking in. The person was in a back room.
- Lisa (10/5): - Comfortable stay, friendly. Beds were especially comfortable! Rooms very clean. Was very easy going. Lounge areas, one with tables, coffee available. Good stay on way out west
- Martha (8/5): - Conveniently located.
- Linda (10/5): - If you want a quiet place to sleep in the small town of Malta Montana, this is a good stop for you. Everything is on one floor. They are good people and made us feel welcome and at home. The room was simple, but comfortable. The bed was great.... and that means a lot. We slept well and were able to get on our way the next day.
- Valerie (8/5): - Grill area was used but very disorganized & dirty
- Cameron (6/5): Could be improved - The property is disheveled and the bed was in need of replacing
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - A bit outdated, but clean and comfortable. I’d stay there again.
- JENNIFER (10/5): - Convenient comfortable accommodations right off the 2 on way to Glacier, The host is wonderful and the room was very clean. The hotel overlooks a golf course and is surrounded by green with easy parking in the back. Other travelers were quiet and respectful. Felt safe, was very clean and easy check in. Would stay again, Thank you for the great conversation. AC, mini fridge, microwave in room. Coffee via Keurig in Dining area. Albertsons and other stores very nearby in Malta.
- Peggy (10/5): - Nice quiet place off of Hwy 191 great check in friendly staff rooms nice comfortable beds
- Susan (8/5): - The water is super hard, not able to drink the water. Please supply bottled water in the rooms.
- ronald (8/5): - Ok but could use blackout curtains, had a bright light coming in all night.
- Jennifer (6/5): - This property was okay. Very dated. Way out in the country, area around hotel not kept up.
- Philip (8/5): Friendly Inn - Casey, the proprietor, settled us in nicely. I think this is the best place in Malta. Just outside of town and away from the busy trains it is also the quietest. Not fancy but cute and convenient
- Timothy (8/5): - Property is a bit dated, but the staff was wonderfully friendly and the area is peaceful
- donna. (10/5): - Very nice and quiet place to stay
- Sean (10/5): - A great little stay nearby to a golf course. Felt more like I was invited into someone’s house and offered a guest room! It was nice and a pleasant stay! The owner was super sweet and we shared some traveling stories at checkout —
Would definitely recommend!
- Robert (8/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet motel next to golf course. AC worked good. Room was clean and had nice amenities. Older Motel, warm water on some faucets. Bed was very comfortable.
- cathie (10/5): - The mattresses were amazing. They are foam pads. The hostess is really nice and friendly. They do not serve breakfast at this time, but there are places to eat in Malta. The inn is on the edge of a golf course, which meant it was quiet. We felt very relaxed while there.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Had a good stay
- Dallas (10/5): - Moved me to a warmer room when initial room was really cold (-35 outside). Have stayed here a couple times coming/going to Canada and staff and rooms excellent for a private motel in town size of Malta. Really quaint, clean and warm.Excellent food and service at Golf course restaurant/lounge very close by
- Ken (2/5): - The heater didn't work and it smelled like sewage.
- Matthew (10/5): - D
- Jeffrey (4/5): Needs upgrades - This is a very old hotel that needs a lot of upgrading. The owners were nice and friendly. There are not many choices in this area so it probably is the best for the area.
- Myles (8/5): - Great staff
- Katherine (10/5): - Good place to stay in Malta
- Teresa (6/5): - The Inn Manager was very friendly and pleasant. The condition of the inn was very rustic and outdated.
- BOB (8/5): - The host was very friendly however the brekfast was less than wonderful. Day old donuts. Coffee machine didn't work but there was a Keurig. Over all an ok stay.
- Marietta (10/5): - Quite peaceful out in the country. The owners were very friendly. I would recommend it to anyone nothing fancy but perfect.
- Clare (10/5): - Very homey and relaxing place to stay.
- Robert (8/5): - For the price, this was a good hotel. I was a little concerned about not having a deadbolt on the door. The bathroom was very clean and kept up. I loved having a window that opened to catch to nice Montana air.
- Anya (10/5): - The people who who work this property are super hospitable and kind! My favorite inn/ hotel experience in a long time. Fun decor, and very clean!
- Tracee (10/5): - If you are staying in Malta, you should know there are not many places to stay. Compared to the others in town, this is a gem. The owners are on-site and super personable. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable in our room. The staff knew of several family-friendly restaurants in town. A light breakfast is provided. We enjoyed our stay and thought the price was fair considering we were only stopping for the night. If you're in town check out Stretch's pizza and arcade, the dinosaurs, the park, and the river trail
- Robert (8/5): - It was nice having a place to eat within walking distance.
- Jaime (10/5): - The motel is showing its age, but my room was clean, the TV worked great with cable, the air conditioning worked almost too well, there is breakfast and I just had a nice hot cup of coffee, and it's right next to the golf course and restaurant, where I had a great chef salad after a long day's drive last night. Bed was very comfortable. One of my best values so far on my motorcycle trip around the country!
- Brenda (10/5): - The room was clean and comfortable and the host was very kind and helpful. Good dining nearby.
- Gale (8/5): Malto Night - The night was quiet which was really nice, bed was comfortable, room was clean. The downfall is their breakfast - cold cereal and toast and there wasn't much milk so we didn't want to use much as there were some other people staying there that had to have breakfast too. They didn't even have any juice. Was disappointed with that. But it was nice to have peace and quiet.
- John (8/5): - A reasonable place to stay in the area
A bit pricey.
- jeff (10/5): - Pleasant experience
- John (4/5): - Smells of mold ,not very clean, and worst of all the water was rusty and smells like sulfur..
I couldn't even have a decent shower after working all day.
- Alyssa (10/5): - Booked for my parents, they really enjoyed it
Very friendly
- Peggy (2/5): - Smelled very bad of cigarettes. No hot water. There was a lot of dust on everything. The milk for breakfast cereal was expired and no one was present in the breakfast area or office.
- Cathy (8/5): Florida journey - We stopped one night on our way from Glacier to Mn. The owner was very nice and made us feel at home! She even watched our dog while we had dinner at golf course. The breakfast was nice.
- Michael (10/5): - Very comfortable relaxing setting. More like a friend’s guest room than a hotel.
- Deborah (6/5): One night stop over - Tiny hotel (12 rooms) right next to a golf course. Hotel room is the size of a mid size bedroom. Quiet location. Clean room. Nice mini fridge and microwave. Good value for the price. Not far off US 2 if you’re talking the high line across Montana.
- Katherine (10/5): - Very convenient, all appliances worked great, and staff was kind!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were roadtripping with a 3 and 1 year old, and this was a good place to stop. Feels very homy and cozy
- John (10/5): - Nice clean place
- Cristina (8/5): - The property was in a nice quiet setting with the golf course restaurant in walking distance. The only thing that could have been improved on was a stronger air conditioner in the room. It was very hot out and on the high setting it didn't do much at all to cool the room down.
- Debbie (10/5): Cozy and comfortable - Great stay! Older motel. Quirky. Cozy and comfortable
- Thomas (8/5): - Very nice little hotel. Could use additional locks on room doors though, eg. deadbolts.
- Park (10/5): - This place is kind of a hidden gem. My room was clean a little bit dated but very clean air conditioner was frosty cold the place is so quiet cause it’s actually out of town at a golf course which at night is very quiet.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Malta Country Inn - Lighting in the room not good enough to read old fashioned books. No hot water at the bathroom or kitchinette sink. People were helpful when asked. We did not have ant glasses in our room. He found some wine glasses (very nice). Ice maker not really working very well. Minimalist breakfast.
- Patricia (8/5): - It was comfortable. Check in wasn't really explained or check out now one around had to call.
- Bonnie (6/5): - They don’t have a front desk. It was in a room with the door closed. No ice. No one to help with questions about the coffee in the morning.
- James (8/5): - Clean, comfortable and reasonable
- tracy (10/5): Malta trip 2024 - I thought it was a great day in a wonderful city of Malta, Montana right on the golf course and a good view out the window of the countryside across the street which was being paved. It’s actually the main road coming into town from the south. We had a great day.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Country Inn was our home base for 3 days while we explored the area around Malta, including the Charles M. Russel NWR and the American Prairie Reserve. The hotel is small, very conveniently located and Malta provides a number of dining options, a grocery store and a laundromat. Our room was clean, we had a kitchenette area including a refrigerator/freezer and microwave and the bed was comfortable. We'll certainly stay here again when we come back to further explore this area of Montana!
- Robert (8/5): - Staff were very good and helpful. Provided hose and bucket to wash motorcycle
Building is old, in need of some paint but clean. Room was very clean and well appointed
Dinner was at the Tin Cup Golf club, very good, and breakfast fare at motel was decent.
- Tammy (8/5): - Staff was pleasant. Room super clean, everything smelled nice. Didn’t hear anyone else from our room. Had a pleasant nights sleep
- James (10/5): Great Stay for the Garden Convention. - Over all the stay was great. We got to meet the owers and they were very hospitable. We overlooked a golf course. There was a restaurant and bar close by. The room was clean and comfortable. The wifi worked well. We will stay again on our next trip to Malta.
- Paul (8/5): - mouse droppings in the bathroom cabinet was a turn off. mow the grass around the property. breakfast was nonexistent. wouldn't take much effort to clean the place up. perfect hunting base camp.
- Jeff (10/5): - A very restful night! Friendly staff, well appointed clean rooms, and very affordable!!
- Larry (8/5): - Very nice property out of the center of town about a mile, beside the Golf Club, where I had lunch. There were some dishes/bowls available if I had needed them. Very quiet, and easy trip to the rest of town options. Very special museums in town!
- Dawn (10/5): Great find! - What a great find! The room was clean and the price was right. I would stay again if I were in the area. The owner was very pleasant and did all that she could to ensure that I had a nice stay.
- Lori (6/5): - The location was very peaceful and serene. The room was clean.
- Mertinsia (8/5): - We wanted more of a country setting, and that’s what we got.
- Wendy (8/5): - Basic but clean. Comfortable bed. Close to services and restaurants. Needs maintenance outside (grass, etc)
- Eric (8/5): - We enjoyed visiting this locally owned property. While not a full breakfast, it was enough to get us on our way. Nice people!
- Frederick (10/5): - nice room furnishings, beautiful setting, quiet
- Monica (10/5): - My stay was amazing and the staff was very friendly and made sure my stay was the most comfortable it could have been. The room was great and had everything that I needed.
- Catherine (10/5): - We came in after 7. Staff was friendly. Told us breakfast was at 7am. Comfy small bed for 2. Clean room. When we went to the breakfast area at 7am, we were confused. No one available, cereal and Keurig machine on the counter.
- Sandra (4/5): It’s the only place in town. - A lot of deferred maintenance needed.
- Emily (10/5): - Cozy little hotel with lots of parking! Absolutely the friendliest staff I've ever interacted with and the beds are phenomenal!
- Gary (10/5): - excellent staff and nice clean rooms
- Alexa (8/5): - The property was cute, clean and had a nice common area. The weather was a cold and the heater in the room wasn't working very well. I think that was just a random occurrence. I would gladly stay again.
- Robert (10/5): - Amazing small town inn. Very nice folks working here.
- stacey (6/5): - I stayed there a couple of years ago, it was very clean. It clearly has had little upkeep, the kitchen area was dirty. They did recently have a major pipe break and severe water damage to their lobby and adjoining rooms, but one could still have wiped down counters. The staff were very nice, but attention to detail is lacking. Towels were worn out and stained, vacuum left in the hall not in use, things like that.
- John (6/5): - Ok
- Eric (10/5): Great place to stay - Great quiet place to stay. Friendly staff.
- Scott (10/5): - Love this place
.. . . . great staff
- Lee (10/5): - Good room. Clean and quiet.
- Randy (8/5): - Fun seeing the dinosaur.
- JOHN (10/5): - New ownership, young couple. Love to support small businesses. They were very helpful and friendly! Doing their best to get this hotel up and running into a profitable place.
- Edward (2/5): - Very dirty. Breakfast was very poor. No jam, milk jug was empty, very poor towels - they were very thin and rough. Would not recommend to anyone!
- Sheri (8/5): - Nice and comfortable, thank you!
