Evagelos (7/5): Centrally located, this quaint, historic inn is a fun place to stay on St.George Island. - We love the location. It is within walking distance to all of the island's restaurants, shops, and the public beach. It is very pleasant to sit on the porch to drink coffee in the morning ( The hotel has a keurig and coffees for guests) or wine in the afternoons. Each room is individually furnished and we have stayed in several different ones. All have been nice and clean. The area and the hotel were quiet at night. Time and beach air has taken a toll on the building as is to be expected of historic structures. In the year since we visited last, some of the exterior has broken in places and needs repair.

The only complaint that we have is you can’t adjust the temperature of the room to what is comfortable to you and we about froze it was so cold! Some people it wouldn’t bother but for us it was too cold!

We loved the balcony and the view to the bayside. We even saw dolphins once! The kitchen area was in the bedroom and not in the living room, even though there was enough space., too. That was a little strange for us.

We liked the balcony even if it’s a common one and not very clean Cleanliness can be improved both in the room and common spaces. No hairdryer in the room, when I asked the receptionist if they had one, she answered me that if there wasn’t one in my room then I couldn’t get one (many rooms were empty, she might have looked for it in one of them). Bed not very comfortable

Bohm (10/5): Relaxing Getaway - The staff was exceptional, I have medical issues and unable to navigate the stairs in this quaint well kept Inn. Ryan, who was the check in manager when I arrived, immediately volunteered to get my luggage and items, from my car and carried them all to my room, including my cat. Upon check out he did the same, he was exceptional, caring and others could learn much from his professional caring ways. The rooms are spacious and the authentic French doors from each room onto the wrap around porch keeps that "old Inn" charm. If you want to just feel the salt air breeze, view the blue waters and just sit back and recharge, this is place. Thank you.

Das Zimmer ist sehr stimmig eingerichet und hat einen Ausgang zur umlaufenden Veranda. Perfekt, um draußen zu essen oder die Sonne zu genießen. Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Schade, dass drumherum so viel asphaltiert bzw. angebaut war.

There was a mix up with my payment through a third party Bookings.com so check your reservations before you go. The Public areas are quite nicely updated. I expect maybe they are in process of updating rooms. I knew it was old before I went so I did not have unrealistic expectations. But it like staying at your grandparents older house. I think with a little more updating in the rooms, it will be top notch, They would do well with an elevator but it's an old house and that would probably be expensive to retrofit. It does need a little more in the room updates.

Jessamine (3/5): Overall the stay was fair because we were in a great location although we won’t be staying there again due to the state - The staff was very kind and welcoming and the location was ideal. Upon our arrival, the bottom bunk in our room was covered in dog hair. The couch in the room was broken and propped up by a stack of wood- which made me nervous with 2 toddlers in the room. The hot water in our room only lasted for about 30 seconds, so we ended up showering at our friend’s house down the road all week. The king size bed felt like sleeping on cinder blocks.

Jim (3/5): Would only stay there again if guaranteed first floor as I am too old to climb 3 flights of stairs w - Location to beach & restaurant - view Room on top floor with 3 sets of stairs to climb with luggage for an 84, an 83, & an 80 person on stairs with very little lighting and no rail to hold on to at times. Very dangerous to climb up and down at night - liability hazard - need lights on each step and more handrails. No coffee in room so had to go out and but some at the Blue Parrot at night as no one at front desk at 9pm and no way to leave message as mailbox was full.

The Inn did not tell us the room we booked was up three stories with only outside excess. Also the room was dirty. We did not feel safe with the door open to the outside & also very hard getting up three stories with luggage.

Steve (10/5): Almost perfect. - From the moment we walked in the door I knew we were going to love this place. Its quaint and homey and the manager on duty had personality plus. He could not have been better. The room was huge and old school, all the way down to its actual key for the door. No electronic cards here. Its like staying at your grandmothers house and being treated like family. Honorable mention to the NYC apartment size shower. It was amazing. I almost hate to mention it but grandmas house needs a new bed or at a minimum a mattress topper. It was literally the worst mattress i've ever been on. If you like sleeping on a piece of plywood than you'll love the bed in room 204. I cant speak to the other beds in the other rooms but the one in 24 has outlived its usefulness.

Also, if I had not already paid for the room, I would have left after I was informed that I had to pay $20 to check in one hour early (in a place that was almost totally vacant in the off-season!) Never experienced this kind of stupid greed before at any other place I have ever stayed at in my life.

Katrin (1/5): Grauenhaft!!!! - Architektonisch ein schönes Gebäude. Das ganze Hotel war in einem miserablen Zustand. Alles war total abgenutzt, alt & speckig. Fleckige Fußböden, Handtücher & Wäsche. Überall Dreck, Staub, Spinnweben. Man mochte sich gar nirgendwo hinsetzten, geschweige den legen. Wir hatten für 3 Nächte gebucht- ein großer Fehler! Eine Nacht mussten wir bleiben, auf die Schnelle war nichts zu finden. Keine Nacht länger wollten wir dort sein, obwohl klar war, dass Geld wird nicht zurück erstattet. Wie es zu den positiven Bewertungen kommt, ist mir wirklich ein Rätsel????

It is a very quaint and interesting building but definitely needs so work and better house keeping.

The mattress was upside down on the couch, I turned it over and it was dirty. We had 3 towels for 3 people for 2 nights. Not enough! None was around after 7 to get help with that.

Lauren (5/5): Will not stay again - I liked the proximity to everything. It was in the center of the island. Most places within walking distance. The room was so small. There was no dresser. There was 2 luggage holders, but one was broken so it was unusable. There was no counter space what so ever. The lights on the patio were supposed to be motion detection, but the 2 on our corner stayed on the rntire night. The cleaning crew cleaned with chlorox. So, the smell was awful the entire time. We had to keep our inner door closed and locked the entire time. (I have a chemical fragrance allergy)

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist zentral auf der Insel, direkt am sehr sehenswerten Leuchtturm, Strandzugang in 150m Entfernung, Supermarkt in der Nähe.

Venable (1/5): - The shower had good water pressure. The room was nothing like their pictures. They have roaches in the room. The fridge looked to be covered in mold. The tp holder was rusted. The shower curtain had stains on it. Due to live roaches running around, we were unable to rest all night. Tried contacting the Inn several times, and they never responded. It was horrifying. We left at daybreak without even brushing our teeth. I have pictures.
