- Jessica (7/5): Nice, comfortable place to stay with kids but you have to organize your meals when you want to ski - - clean room, comfortable beds, gaming room is great with kids - food is great but the restaurant understaffed - no room service (and 1 roll of toilet paper for 4 person for 4 days cannot be enough) - you need to reserve a table for dinner in advance or get the off hours and there is really nothing else around to go for dinner - they say on their homepage that they are the optimal place to stay when skiing gore mountain but do not offer a shuttle nor do they have a room for skiing equipment - breakfast starts at 8am but skiing lessons for kids at gore mountain do at 9 am. Manageable but tough when you want to do both.

Inoltre danno la possibilità di prepararsi dei sandwich da portare via per il pranzo, che è veramente comodo visto che in zona non c'è molto.. Il posto è molto rilassante, immerso nella natura. Bella la spiaggia privata sul lago con possibilità (gratuita) di prendere kajak e canoe. Abbiamo mangiato al ristorante del lodge ed era buono (per gli standard americani) Al nostro arrivo siamo stati informati che c'era un problema di batteri nell'acqua (e.coli) con conseguente impossibilità di usare l'acqua, neanche per lavarsi i denti e bisognava anche fare attenzione nel fare la doccia. Penso che per una cosa simile avrebbero dovuto avvisare anticipatamente dando la possibilità di annullare il soggiorno (in Italia penso che per un problema simile la struttura venga temporaneamente chiusa fino alla risoluzione,...). In ogni caso hanno provveduto a rifornirci gratuitamente di tutte le bottigliette d'acqua potabile che volevamo.

- Erik (10/5): - I stayed here by myself to fish Thirteenth Lake. That was a short commute by car. The bite was slow but the lodge was comfortable and well-run. It's remote with no other options for meals nearby. The menu is limited and cocktails are expensive, but the food is good. The summer rate for the room without a view was pretty cheap for the region and amenities. The lodge is part of a property association including private homes that share the dock and beach. Remote but otherwise easy access to I-87. Cellular sketchy at best but Wi-Fi was good.

Bar man was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was not very good. Evening meal had limited choice on the menu and then even that was not all available despite being one of the first in. Breakfast selection of food was non-existent. Very poor selection and no a la carte options available. Given the price per night I would have expected a top notch breakfast.

Restaurant might be better? Not there to watch TV but way too small if we would have wanted to. Bugs were terrible, not their fault, just time of year, but could not be outside comfortable to enjoy hikes,
- Daniel (4/5): - The grounds look great, the view over the lake is awesome, the fire place is nice and surrounded by chairs, I wish they had actually a few Adirondack chairs spread out on the lawn so you can actually sit there and enjoy the view instead of just standing around. We really enjoyed the quit and pristine lake, went swimming at the beach and had kayaks at our disposal without time limit. The balcony at the second floor provided excellent view at the moon and stars at night. The staff is nice and friendly, but they absolutly need to hire someone who can actually cook in the kitchen and ensure there is a dent breakfast buffet and not just a One Start Motel selection. Please see review further below. -Bed mattress Unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortable, we stayed in the upper floor room Nr. 1 where the mattress was totally caving in, we were just sinking in extremely and ended up at the bottom squeezed together. Must be very old and I think it needs to be replaced immediately, it's just unacceptable given that the room price for the 4th of July weekend was quite high. -Breakfast Breakfast was unfortunately very limited, no fresh fruits at all in July, at least some bananas, apples, strawberries would have been great, there was just a bowl with a mix of melon pieces, not sure if from tin can or fresh. Yogurt were only a few small plastic containers with processed strawberry and blueberry flavor from Danone, no simple greek or just plain yogurt. Oatmeal only prepackaged flavored assortment from Quaker. Average tea bag selection but no green tea, not really restaurant selection. There was fresh scrambled eggs and beacon. -Restaurant food I am very confused by the reviews on the website that are raving about the food and breakfast, it was not my experience, so either the reviews are fake or very old and the kitchen staff has changed since then. We decided to stay for the 4th of July dinner and booked the 7pm time slot for ribs. I never had worse ribs, they were totally overcooked, hard and just dry. I don't know how you can ruin ribs like that. They run out of asparagus that was part of the originally booked dish and just replaced it with a small cob of corn without even saying anything. After we asked we got a small plate with 5 stalks of asparagus for two people. The dessert was bad. The carrot cake was just one thin slice like a slice of bread with 1/2" of generic icing on top. The pecan pie bottom dough was uncuttable with a knife so I had scrap the pie off to eat it at least partially.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Remote rustic lodge with a wonderful Adirondack view - We loved the view of the mountains from the lodge and loved our updated very large super-clean room in the Tea House. We loved our time swimming and kayaking on the lake as the weather was very warm during our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful. The location is remote (for some this might be a plus)- it’s about a 20 minute drive to the nearest (very small) town for a grocery store or a restaurant. Some of the facilities were run down or under repair (tennis/pickleball courts) and not available.

This Lodge has everything you could want; cozy clean updated rooms with a great view of the lake from your balcony, friendly engaging staff, delicious food so you don't have to leave for meals and close proximity to great hiking, private beach with kayaks and a activity center where you could rent different items based on the season. We loved it. Thank you so much!
- Terri (10/5): - Garnet Hill provided a very relaxing environment close to nature. The Tea House room was awesome, with separate spaces for sleeping and hanging out, plus a private sauna. How unique! Staff was great. Food yummyand generously portioned. They even made a special meal for us for our anniversary night. Don't expect a mainstream experience and you'll be impressed.

Check in and check out were super easy. They have their own Nordic Ski trails which were awesome and the complimentary breakfast and sandwich bar for lunch were perfect for a day on the slopes. 10/10 would stay again.

- Tammy (10/5): - We stayed in January 2025. We loved the friendly, kind staff and the quaintness of the lodge. Sitting by the fire nightly reading and chatting with other guests was a highlight. The breakfast was fantastic! We also appreciated the bag lunch that we created before going out snowshoeing. We loved our room at the Tea House which was on the snowshoe trail. The room was great; could have used several more coat hooks for our towels and snow attire. We rented snowshoes on property at the Outdoor center. The staff was super helpful and nice! Snowshoed up the mountain, it was a spectacular view!! Would love to revisit in the summer!

They have a hangout area for the kids. The main lodge was like aspen ski vibes. Went cross country skiing and hiking. Great spot!

The location is beautiful. The history of the lodge is also quite interesting. The weather didn't cooperate so we really didn't get a chance to hike around. It was rainy, windy, and cold (even snow flurries). It made sitting in front of the huge fireplace more enjoyable :)

Staff were all very helpful and friendly, seems like a family-run facility with happy staff. Will go back in winter to take advantage of their well-groomed cross country and snowshoe trails. Large equipment shed on property to provide rental equipment. Parking lot gets muddy, maybe more gravel laid down?
- Emily (10/5): Perfect cozy getaway in the mountains - Everything was perfect for our weekend getaway and went far beyond our expectations! The ambience, the mountain views, the staff, the food, it was a dream weekend for my husband and I. The rooms and whole lodge were right out of a movie when you think of a cozy ski resort. The staff were all the sweetest and went above and beyond. We met so many amazing people while staying for the eclipse and everyone was so relaxed and at peace here. The breakfast buffet and dinner at the lodge were excellent. We snow shoed the trails on the property which was a blast. Stargazing right outside our door was unbelievable. We felt right at home here. We will definitely return to Garnet Hill Lodge! That we didn’t stay longer!

- Alexander (9/5): Great outdoor enthusiast get-a-way. - Wonderful location. Great for the athletic and outdoor sports enthusiasts. Restaurant was excellent. Service and staff were very friendly and helpful. Keep in mind this is to be a bit "rustic" as a country lodge. Meet and exceeded our expectations. Hikes to OK Slip Falls and Hudson River (9 miles) and Balm of Gilead (2 miles) are absolutely worth it. Tennis courts were decent (very hot days - and in the sun). Sports center is well stocked with equipment (kayaking, paddle board, tennis, bicycles, etc.). Was a wonderful experience. Really not much to report here. Please expect the standard of a country lodge with all its "rustic" charms including wildlife. The private beach on Thirteen Lake is best accessed by car - it is a bit of a walk - but we did walk to the beach on our first day. Same is true of the sports center and tennis courts - easiest to get to by car but the walk is considerably shorter than the distance to the private beach. Recommend walking to the tennis courts and sports center, unlike the beach.

- Mariette (8/5): Very good - Spacious room, sauna, pool biljart, breakfast buffet and take out lunch. Free kayaks. We had to make the 3th bed ourselves. Expensive for what you get. No veg and fish options anymore at the restaurant.

Breakfast - should implement some variations and add breads, cheese etc. 2. Consider including rooms cleaning and changes of linen/ towels may be changed by staff rather than by guests ( Covid residual practices)

- Andrea (10/5): - This property is nestled in the mountains and has a beautiful view, lots of activities and very friendly staff. The bathrooms were all updated in the main lodge (didn't see out buildings) and were very nice. The rooms were clean and the beds cozy. There are lots of activities on site, free breakfast and a restaurant. Since it is in the ADK, cell service is spotty but there is wifi on premises. Relaxing place to stay- would definitely go again!
- Eric (8/5): - Old school hotel, kind of like an Adirondack camp. Bed was very comfortable and surroundings very quiet. Decor very rustic and camp like. The staff was very nice and friendly. Have a tv and billiard room to watch tv and movies with puzzles and board games. Very undeveloped surroundings so plan to hang out at the hotel in the evenings.
- Virginia (10/5): - Love the updates - new bathrooms/linens and also love that the old Adirondack feel of the Lodge remains the same. Trail conditions were good, ski center staff super helpful and we had some excellent dinners at the restaurant.
- Sara (10/5): Perfect Winter Lodge Weekend - I just completed my second stay at Garnet Hill Lodge. I have traveled here two years in a row with two of my children (one of my 14 year old sons and my 11 year old daughter). This year we stayed in the Teahouse and it was perfect for us. A lot of space, a kitchenette with a coffee maker, and large comfortable beds. The room was updated and kept it's lodge-like feel while feeling new and clean. We stayed at Garnet Hill so that we could ski at Gore Mountain. It is about a 20 minute drive to the mountain, but ultimately worth it because of the staff, rooms, and location tucked away in the woods. We will be back again next year and looking forward to it!

Very convenient to Gore mountain for downhill skiing and offers cross country skiing onsite. Friendly guests and staff made it enjoyable and the view of the lake from the dining room is spectacular. Love that it is so remote and quiet, Wi-Fi was spotty and there were not tv’s in the rooms which I thought was awesome! Lots of hiking and mountain biking trails. Dinner was great, was hoping for more of a local craft beer selection but the happy hour was nice. Will definitely go back and stay longer than 2 nights. All the staff we dealt with were great and super friendly. A definite must see.

Free breakfast - wow, great selection and food was fantastic! Love the homemade scones!!! Wish they had the fireplaces going more throughout the day - being chilly falls days, would have been a nice see each time we were in the lobby. The game room & pool table added a bit of fun to our time at the resort. Wish we had time to go on the trails, as the area is very beautiful. The location to Gore is fantastic.

If you want to go away form city and enjoy quiet and beautiful nature this is the place, either you want to enjoy the views and fresh air or you want to do some activities which Garnet Hill lodge provides free kayaks, Canoas and bikes for the quests. I recommend!
- Jillian (10/5): Lots of hiking, secluded beach, stunning views, amazing people, homey, cozy lodge, great food! - Breakfast was wonderful, anything I could possibly want! With the bonus of having the ability to create a packed lunch as well! Most people are going hiking, canoeing etc, so this is very thoughtful! Our bathroom was brand new with lux Beekman 1802 bath products, I enjoyed them very much. The view is stunning, next time we will ask for a room w/ a balcony, which is a bit larger. The serenity & peace of this area is wonderful, ALL of the staff bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. The lodge is from the 1930's so our room was quite small, it took a little time to get used to, we were supplied w/ extra tv tray tables which did help out quite a bit. There was no TV, microwave or fridge, as I am used to having at my other hotel stays, but I quickly realized they weren't as necessary as I thought. The bathroom was beautiful & new but again no place to put anything down, I was able to work around it by putting a tv tray table in there as well.

- Jacob (10/5): - This was a great place to stay while my partner and I skiied gore mountain. It's cozy, quiet, and truly rustic, with such a gorgeous view. If you want to enjoy the view from your room be sure to get a room with a balconey. The staff is friendly and the food is great. The only problem we had during our stay was that the room was always way too hot, but you can open a window and it's quite comfortable.

- David (10/5): We will DEFINITELY be back!! - My wife and I stayed here for a weekend ski trip to the area. We arrived in the middle of a huge snow storm and reaped the benefits of a beautiful snow filled Adirondack weekend. We stayed in a King room in the main lodge. This was exceptionally convenient, because we were just steps away from the HUGE fireplace in the main entryway, as well as the bar and restaurant. The food was very good! We ate in-house both nights during our stay, and both enjoyed our meals. We skied Gore Mt. on Friday (which is a short 15min drive) and we XC skied, Saturday on site. The XC was amazing. It was our first experience on XC ski's and it did not disappoint. We received a well instructed hour long lesson (from Patrick - who is AWESOME!). After our instruction, we were ready to tackle the trails. The trail options are extensive and offered plenty of beginner options, as well as technically challenging trails. We spent 4 hours skiing the south side of the resort and had a blast. Even though the parking lot was packed, we only passed 4-5 skiers the whole time. The entire weekend was amazing, and my wife and I cannot wait to head back. There is ZERO cell service at the Logde, but WiFi connectivity allowed us to keep in touch with our 3 children, so we didn't feel totally disconnected. We will definitely be heading back. Also, I generally do not leave reviews unless I really like or dislike something. You will not regret staying here!

- Robert (10/5): Ski hotel in the mountains - We stayed here to whitewater raft on the Hudson. This ski lodge type hotel was beautiful. The 1 st young girl at the desk seemed bothered by simple questions, like how do we get extra towels. The next day and older woman was at the front desk who was wonderful. It would be helpful if the staff had someone who could start the firepit and there was no hot tub. Overall, a wonderful stay!

The location is not feasible. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and there were several great options to choose from. We did diner there for one night. Again the meals were delicious
