Guest Reviews
- Alan (4/5): - There was no shower curtain, no chair in the room to sit on, ac did not work properly, toilet is so close to the sink you can hardly get your legs in, bed was too soft, half a roll of toilet paper, bathroom door would not close
- Penny (8/5): Great place if you travel with pets. - I stayed here as they allowed pets. The couple running the place were lovely. They have large areas of grass and trees which was great for the dogs. Outdated features, but everything was functional. I was traveling alone and felt safe. I would stay there again.
- Suzette (6/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
Room needs some work.
- ashleigh (2/5): - Unfortunately this place is very overpriced for what you get. It was very dirty inside: mold in the shower, dirty bath mat, window sills were filthy, bugs and cobwebs in the corners. We couldn't hang our jackets because a table was in the way, one bed was very springy and uncomfortable. Messy paint job throughout. Seems there is no pride in ownership of this facility. Very disappointed, especially considering how much they are charging.
- karen (4/5): - Bed was not comfortable. Cool water shower. Thin walls with dog barking and small child yelling late into the night. Check in staff was friendly.
- Denesha (2/5): - Nowhere for humans to stay....really really terrible.
- Rylee (2/5): - The property manager informed us that our reservation was not kept and we could not stay here. We were not notified and could not find accommodation for the night, leaving us stranded.
- Tomara L (4/5): - The staff was nice. I waited for half an hour to be checked in. she apologized for the wait even though we were bringing the Bell and knocking the door. She checked us in and she gave me the key and said your room is down by the corner. Outside smell of smoke. The room was clean it smells like cigarette like someone was smoking in the room in the bathroom there was a stick to open up the bathroom window I went back and I let her know that the room smell of cigarette and I have a child that have asthma. I went back and I explained to the lady and she said oh maybe it's because they were doing a barn fire last night, she asks if I wanted another one and it still smell like smoke and I gave her back the key and I said I am just asking back for my refund .she said she doesn't know where the girl put the paper , and she understand where I'm coming from pertaining to my child's health.she said they could do a transfer to me to refund me back my money. I need to talk to her boss pretending to my e-transfer. I called she said that the room was non-refundable within 5 minutes it was non-refundable of me getting there. I explained to her 5 minutes I did not stay in the room , I only take two steps in the room. All I'm asking her back for is my money.
- Verified traveler (2/5): For Desperate Travellers - We selected this place based on previous reviews and it’s location to the Rondeau Provincial Park. Our stay was very disappointing and do not recommend for a couple or family. Our room and bathroom were clean but very small. The shower did not work and had to be repaired. The bathroom door was missing a door knob. The other guests staying/living there were sketchy. There was a a disturbance/fight at a room next door. I am not sure why this place was even on Hotels.com’s list. One of the worst places I’ve stayed at.
- Lorna (8/5): - Its old property much needed renovations update they have already started so thats good
- Susan (4/5): - This property is a late 1950s motel that desperately needs a significant upgrade. It is very over priced for what is offered. The plastic shower stall (1960s version) takes up most of the bathroom and makes access to the toilet a challenge. The bedding was clean and the mattress was okay. The towels were small, but clean.
Stay here if there is nowhere else in the area.
- Gina (2/5): - Don't believe the positive reviews, this place is nothing like the descriptions. The rooms are tiny and dated, the furnishings very old. The floors are spongy. There was no key for my door, so it was left unlocked. The shower was an old modular unit that was broken with the curtain rail hanging from one side: unusable. The washroom was tiny, the door interfered with the shower stall. The A/C unit was blowing hot air and the controls were very stubborn, I was able to reduce the temperature setting from 79 to 77 with much difficulty. There were dead flies and other insects on the floor under the A/C unit, clearly the room had not been cleaned for a while. The WiFi did work.
- Rahul (2/5): - So the property didn’t had proper washroom in the room and the shower was just good for nothing. The blankets were smelly and not good quality and so was the bed.
- Allen (4/5): - Keep going not worth it staying at
- mike (6/5): - nice location, room was very small for the price,no where for my wife and i to sit,one paper cup!
- DeLorra (6/5): - Wonderful friendly staff. Our room was not great. Very tiny and extremely uncomfortable bed and very dated. It’s too bad because if updated it would be a great place
- Susan (10/5): - Simple hotel that was clean and easy access to where we had to be The lady at front desk was friendly
- Tina (4/5): - Nice that there was a gazebo but one person was in there and he was smoking so we didn’t feel welcome there.
Very few electrical outlets, no room for a chair and when we sat at the edge of the bed it was tipsy, someone else could look through the bathroom window, washroom also very cramped, only 2 thin bath towels, hot and cold faucet on the sink were reversed, no instructions for TV use.
Overpriced.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were quite unimpressed. Broken, noisy air conditioner kept us up all night. Room was very hot. I’m sure I saw a cockroach outside the check in office. I was surprised by the sign in the office warning about the signs of human trafficking. We needed 1 night of good sleep before a golf tournament across the street. We didn’t get it.
- Tjeerd (4/5): - Everything was dated. Could have stayed in an updated Motel for the same money.
- GJamie (8/5): I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5 - The stay was okish, with a rough start (we had to share a room with our friends we were traveling with). Due to unforseen circumstances... the room was clean and the lady running the place was very nice. We were passing through on motorcycles, needed a place to rest our heads the bathroom was tiny, ac was very loud. Would we stay there again? Not likely
- Adam (8/5): - Perfect distance away from town and the beach
- Edwin (2/5): - This motel is in the final days of functioning as a place to stay for regular travelers.
- Megan (8/5): An older motel with a few quirks - Ok the motel was old but quaint. The air con was hard to moderate. Had to put the coffee maker on the floor to plug it in to make coffee. The bathroom was super small - if you are a lg person you may not fit in the shower or using the toilet. My room was in the "corner" of the motel so it may be smaller than others? 2 beds but only one was comfy the other was horrible. Nice gazebo outside however the bright flashing neon sign of the motel was a bit much while trying to sit outside and relax. With all that said it was a nice little motel that is close to the beach and the nearby town. I would stay here again but maybe ask for another room?
- Heather (10/5): Great motel+ - Great motel! Lovely staff. Clean and comfortable. Dogs stayed free. I will definitely come here again.
- Alan (4/5): - Gazebo by the trees was a nice, cool place to relax even on a hot day.
The space was limited, certainly no wheelchair possibilities in my room, and renovation work was poor and does no meet code,
- Lorie (4/5): No thank you - This motel is old and worn. The room was so small we had to keep our luggage in the car trunk. The bathroom was ridiculously small. We ended up at this motel because we had no other options. It was a very uncomfortable stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I just think I overpaid. Had I paid 65$ for this motel, everything would of been expected. Although the lady was very nice, pleasant and joyful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A relic from a bygone era, diminutive rooms and lavatories that require even the petitest of patrons to move carefully throughout, the Silver Hotel does the endangered motor Inn proud. Whilst small and antiquated, the rooms are immaculately clean. Everything the weary and frugal traveler could desire is provided. Mid week travel found it nearly full, and was greeted by name upon arrival.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Affordable price rooms are clean and updated. Very quiet motel. Close to town for food gas drinks
The only negative feedback is bed was not comfortable we could not sleep well back pain we stayed 2 nites
- Verified traveler (4/5): - stayed for 3 nights with my husband and 2 grandchildren.room was not cleaned, beds were not made,no fresh towels,no TP refilled and had to take our own garbage out.
- Robert (8/5): Unfortunate downfall - The motel has fallen into some disarray due to multiple ownership changes. new management started the day we checked in. The previous owner did not keep it up very well and the new owners' will struggle to whip it back into shape.
- Chris (2/5): - Owners using parking lot as a personal auto shop, room was full of flys and mosquitoes, coffee machine was dirty, ac didn’t work. Bed sheets were stained.
- Brian (8/5): - Only stayed one night, just passing through. Quiet area, clean room. Looks like bathroom was recently re done. It appears the owners are making a lot of improvements. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nicely renovated rooms available. 2 minute drive to town on nice sprawling, well-kept property.
- Polly (10/5): - My daughter and I have been staying at the silver since the new operators took over and renovated the premises. They truly provide a hospitality of warmth that matches the settings of the newly transformed rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were clean and larger than I had anticipated. The staff were very welcoming upon arrival.
- Barbara (10/5): - We really enjoy starting in your hotel. We’re friendly staff
- Jim (8/5): - The motel was nice overall but the bathroom was very small.
I would recommend and stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the newly renovated room. The motel room was very clean. Only 2 things that could make the stay better is if there were bath towels for showers as the towels in the bathroom were rather small. The second thing is the water pressure in the shower was low. Also another thing to note is there was not a bathtub in our queen room. Not an issue for us but maybe if you had small children.
I would probably return again if I needed a place to stay while visiting my family. Was a lovely motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - CONVENIENT AND I SHOP CANADIAN! NEAR CENTRE OF BLENHEIM
- John (10/5): - Motel was had everything we needed and close to the event we were attending. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and didn't hesitate to assist when needed. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
- Shawna (8/5): - Check in was very friendly. Rooms were cleaned and beds were comfy. Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Neat little place, will stay there again. Bathroom very tight/small.
- C (10/5): - Bathroom could be freshened up - rusty spots here and there. Room otherwise was good. Great service
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay for a few nights. - Older motel that has been upgraded real nice. Furnishings are new & comfortable. Everything is very clean. Washroom is a bit cramped, but otherwise good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean & comfortable. No hair dryer, hangers, facial tissues.
- Mohammad (8/5): - The room was very clean. But it was small with a very small washroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great, friendly staff willing to do almost anything to make your stay pleasant. Rooms are really clean. Definitely a fair price. Probably cheaper to book through them directly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Newly renovated rooms. A beautiful gazebo that is screened in. We got a suite. Very cute and clean. Even had a back patio. Beds are super comfy. Wbat a gem. It is in a country setting. We will be returning soon. Highly recomened..10 minute car ride to the beach...😁😁😎
- Philip (8/5): Good price and room but no amenities. - Nicely renovated room. Good price. Friendly young owners. Safe storage for our tandem bike. Supper at golf club across the road, breakfast in Blenheim.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was good looks like they had done some renovations and was very clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charm and comfort in Chatham kent - The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Couldn't have asked for better hosts. Our room was cute and clean and didn't feel like a motel at all. Perfect if you love being in a quite secluded area with tons of nature around but close enough to food and stores so the seclusion isn't too overwhelming.
