- 919snehac (10/5): Great experience - The location isn’t hard to find. Kapil our butler was so sweet and managed everything by himself! And he was living in the cottage himself! The atmosphere was very homey and warm the rooms were very clean and nice. I think you definitely meet your standards with this value. Definitely recommend
- Road634547 (8/5): Helpful Kapil - Kapil has been most helpful and caring toward us. He is the gem of this property!
The property is beautiful and charming! But it’s old and we faced some building maintenance issues. We have reported them and I am sure the management will be attending to them. Without the maintenance issues, it’s a lovely place to stay in. The location is also convenient for those who want to walk around to explore and experience local vibe.
- Paradise41413329744 (10/5): Lovely stay - Kapil the butler was excellent
He was super efficient
Bunglow was good but needed maintainance work
food was good
Furniture needed upgrading
- 816aishwaryar (10/5): Perfect Stay! - We had a wonderful stay in Nuwara Eliya- Xavier's Cottage! The property had a charming colonial vibe that made the experience even more special.
Not to forget, Kapil’s warm hospitality truly stood out and made us feel right at home. Overall, it was an absolutely perfect stay!
- oshadhad2021 (10/5): A relaxing getaway in the city - My wife refers to Kapil as Ninja Kapil, just because he is so efficient, fast and just overall good at his job. My room was arranged every day, with hot water pads kept by the evening to keep the mattress warm. Jetwing properties never disappoint, and this is one addition to that list. All my requests were handled very well by him and my wife, and I had the best and most relaxing stay over the weekend. The quality of service and value for money was unmatched. 10/10, would visit again!
- C138YFdamianf (10/5): Great. - Very friendly place in a great location. Care taker mr.kapila is really supportive & friendly. Had a nice time in this place.
- sandanuwansaram (10/5): Wonderful Stay at Cottage by Jetwing… - We really enjoyed our stay at Cottage by Jetwing! The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had our meals at Jetwing St. Andrew’s and the food was delicious. The staff were super friendly and helpful — especially Kapil who made our stay extra pleasant. Definitely a great place to relax and unwind!!!
- alyssamariep2024 (10/5): The best accommodation - Kapil was the best host in my entire stay. He is very attentive and accommodating. He makes sure that I am satisfied in everything.
- denniscU3288JO (10/5): Stunning - Stunning design. Old English architecture nice cold wether. Excellent service. easy access. clean and cozy. Had the whole place for us as no other guests were there during our stay.
- 588shiranir (10/5): Great stay - Wonderful experience, Kapil was great and very helpful/accommodating. My children added that the beds were comfy. The facilities were well maintained.
- 413venurad (10/5): Best Cottage in Nuwara Eliya - Great place and Great costumer service. Very friendly staff. In the freezing weathers of nuwara eliya it’s an amazing place to lay your heads after a tiresome day.
- C3567WEkaylam (8/5): Beautiful little cottage - A beautifully restored Tudor-style colonial cottage nestled at around 6,182 feet above sea level, surrounded by misty mountains, tea plantations, and lush greenery
- 538stephanys (10/5): Cosy cottage - Very cute cottage, the rooms were very spacious.
Kapil looked after us whilst we stayed in the cottage and was very friendly and helpful with any queries we had.
The breakfast was also very tasty, would recommend!
- roshals675 (10/5): Cozy Comfort in the Hills - We had an absolutely lovely stay at Xavier’s Cottage by Jetwing in Nuwara Eliya! The cottage was cozy, beautifully maintained, and gave us the perfect mix of comfort and privacy. The atmosphere was peaceful and felt just like a home away from home.
A special mention to our butler Kapila, who made our experience even better. He was attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, everything was taken care of so well.
Although meals weren’t served at the cottage, the buffet at St. Andrew’s was topnotch great variety and quality that made each meal something to look forward to.
The views were stunning, the surroundings calm and serene, and we really appreciated the quiet, private setting. It was the perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Nuwara Eliya.
- Gihanu (10/5): Great Stay at The Xavier’s Cottage by Jetwing - Great Stay at The Xavier’s Cottage by Jetwing
We had a fantastic experience during our stay. The cleanliness of the property was excellent. The butler, Kapil, provided outstanding service, keeping the place very clean and tidy, while being incredibly friendly and attentive.
Meals are served at Jetwing St. Andrew’s, and they were truly outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes.
The location of the cottage is right in the center of Nuwara Eliya town, making it very convenient.
The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable.
Highly recommended!
- 788stum (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely stay here, really nice rooms and great food. Kapil was our host and he was excellent, very welcoming and provided excellent service.
- reenid2022 (10/5): Great stay - We had a really great stay at the Jetwing Xavier's Cottage and the Butler Umeshan was extremely helpful and caring and great food at St. Andrews. Highly recommend.
- VennelaY (8/5): Affordable and Decent cottage stay - Cottages at jetting is very nice cozy cottage, has wonderful one night stay enroute to our Nuwara eliya to Ella journey. Place very closer to the road and restaurants for a quick meal/snack bites.
- firelightersglobal (10/5): Fantastic stay - Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. Umeshan our butler took very good care of us. His attentiveness, professionalism and friendly approach made our stay simply amazing. The cottage is an English Bunglow but very well furnished for a holiday or for work. We booked a suite and a deluxe room; both were super comfortable and the toilets were impeccably clean. I really liked the coffee and the tea in my suite very good quality.
Also one of the highlights is the food it was consistently super good and high Quality. My waiter Namal and Mangala were absolutely amazing. They were fantastic makes the hotel a true 5 star + hotel. Mr Dilip the GM is doing an amazing job here. I always feel so welcomed and a valued customer, This brand of hotels is no doubt one the best in Sri Lanka.
- Nimrod123 (10/5): Really Helpful Staff! - Nice stay.. Old-fashioned bungalow fixed with modern amenities... They have a well-kept garden.. It has two suites and one delixe room.. We had one suite and a deluxe room booked.. Butler was really helpful.. Breakfast offered at St. Andrews.
- Sachuvas143 (10/5): Superb - Jetwing chain has once again proved their best. Perfect peaceful stay in the middle of the busy town. Place is neat aesthetic and classic .. Loved the garden maintenance.. Staff is welcoming and have ensured our comfort zone at our own pace..
- tharindujayasankad (10/5): It was a really good experience we had in Xavier's cottage - It was a homely house which warmed us well. I fancy it's a colonial house reminiscenced victorian era stood test of time, fashioned and furnished in accordance with Jetwing standards. We were weary after a long distance travel, and at the first sight we were relieved.
I enjoyed sipping a coffee watching Renoir paintings hung in the walls at dining room. Amongst them all, I love piano the most, which stood upright at a corner in the parlour. I suppose it needs some tunning.
I am grateful to Kapildev for ushering and support given. He is a smart, humble and a clever steward.
Thank you Jetwing.
- sheranst (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - Had a fantastic experience during our stay. The room was clean and cozy, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent throughout. Great location, delicious food, and a peaceful atmosphere. Would definitely return and highly recommend to others!
- Fearless11199358492 (10/5): Stay in Xavier cottage - It was nice stay here in Xavier resort Kapil care taker took care of us . I would highly recommend to enjoy the stay here . Thanks Kapil and Xavier cottage for everything during our stay. Thanks Sri Lanka what a nice place in Asia to enjoy. Nuwara ela is nice place to chill out .
- 175shehl (10/5): Recomndation for xavier cottage - In Xavier’s cottage Mr.kapila gives us good service. The cottage was clean and very nice.Food served in Jetwing st. Andrew’s hotel and we have to travel there and it was very tasty and have lots of varieties.Highly recommended Xavier’s cottage
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
- lckmalis (10/5): Amazing - Our recent stay at Jetwing St. Andrew’s in Nuwara Eliya was truly delightful.
One of the standout features of our stay was the impeccable service provided by the butler assigned to us.
The food is served either at the cottage or Jetwing St Andrews a short walk away, we were lucky enough to be served with an international buffet for the season. Highly recommend.
- MishthiC (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - The cottage is a very convenient place to stay if you are in Nuwara Eliya for a short time and looking for a location close to the town. Many places are within walking distance but it also makes it a little noisy particularly towards evening and sometimes early morning.
Our room was very comfortable and clean with a separate seating area and a TV. There was hot water and a heater in the room as well. You can make your own cup of tea or ask Kapil to make you some. He is very obliging and always ready to help.
We had our meals at St Andrew's Hotel which is a short walk or drive away. You can order your food to the Cottage but you will miss out on the wider choice available at the buffet!
It is a lovely location if you are in a group. However it can be a little disturbing if there are other people staying there as well.
- thulanb2025 (10/5): Nice cosy place at a reasonable price - A cozy and comfortable place at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax. It’s conveniently located close to the town center and all the necessary amenities. Kapil’s hospitality was exceptional—he was attentive, friendly, and ensured a smooth and pleasant stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a budget-friendly yet comfortable experience!”
- mohammadjV193EV (10/5): Quiet, cozy and excellent value for money. - It's a quiet place away from city center. Rooms were pristine, service was excellent and all the amenities were present as listed. The night manager Umeshan was extremely helpful and went out of his way to ensure a comfortable stay. If you are looking for a calm and hassle free stay, the place is highly recommended
- drash0k (10/5): Well maintained bungalow - We stayed for a night here. Good location. Will maintained property. Helpful care taker. We booked a suite room. Totally there are two suites and one deluxe room. There is a well maintained lawn, common living room and dining areas. It’s safe to stay as the care taker will be there round the clock. Definitely recommended.
- Buddhi (10/5): - It was a cute vintage bunglow with 3 rooms. I really enjoyed the antique set up. The shower and furniture were so cute and antique. Customer services was amazing. Highly recommended!
- steinantonb (10/5): Recommendable! - Conveniently located on a quiet street just 5 minutes' walk from the town centre. Very friendly staff, welcoming me with a cup of vegetable soup. Only 3 rooms, mine was large and comfortable, although a bit dark (and a chair would be nice😊).
Nice little garden with tables; I asked for a beer, but they don't serve that (however the guy on duty offered to run down to the shop and buy me a couple - which I declined, but what can I say but "great service"). Superb breakfast, first a platter of fresh fruit, then a big basket of toast and pastries - and then the cooked breakfast, choice between "Western" and "Sri Lankan" I chose the latter, which turned out to be huge: Dosas, string hoppers, chicken curry, gravy, what seemed like lentil curry and a couple of items more. All delicious; and enough to keep me going until dinner...
- NicM119 (10/5): A lovely place to stay. - A lovely welcome from Japil, in a small bungalow but central to the town, with nearby sister hotel which is also beautiful.
Rooms were great and Japil served an amazing breakfast. Would highly recommend if you are thinking of visiting the area!
- Toby99999 (10/5): The Cottage is great! - 5 out of 5. Great location and lots of space and great little garden. Kapil the butler was great. Short walk up the hill to St Andrew’s where we had a great Xmas dinner! Old world charm with rooms that had a sitting room attached to the suite, plus a shared lounge room and dining room. Only three rooms so great for a family to rent out
- Roland (8/5): Lovely old home - N/A
- Happiness14888418588 (10/5): Awesome experience - Amazing stay with Cottage Jetwing. Our butler Mr Kapil was very helpful and accommodating to our requests. We travelled with our toddler and he helped us a lot with everything. The rooms are beautiful and clean and well maintained. Food is good as well. We had a pleasant stay
- Shareek (7/5): Good -
- Waruni (2/5): Very poor -
- Anna (10/5): The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Made us feel very welcome. The property itself resembles a coloni - The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Made us feel very welcome! Its location as well as the design of it.
- Keerthi (5/5): Passable -
- 915sumedhab (10/5): Unforgettable Luxury - This villa exceeded expectations, and the butler (Mr Sampath) service was outstanding. Impeccable attention to detail and a truly luxurious experience.
A stay here is not just accommodation; it's an indulgent journey, elevated by the presence of a truly exceptional butler.
Highly recommend!
- Sunflowergypsy (9/5): Superb -
- Prashanth (10/5): Cozy, Comfortable, Sustainable home far away from home - Property has a cozy little house kinda feeling which is close to the city centre. Property also provided a room heater and it really helped us to surpass the chilly vibes of hill station. Property is conciois about environment and provided water in glass bottles and all the toiletries in glass reusable bottle. Wish all the properties in srilanka come up with sustainable ways like this. Nothing
- Christin (7/5): Nice small cottage, but not as expected for this price - Really nice service, tidy and clean No real window in the room, very loud especially in the morning because of the school and mosque nearby, overall not as expected
- Dr.ramesh (7/5): Good -
- Wanigasooriya (8/5): Very good - Jeewantha who welcomed us on our arrival was extremely friendly and helpful. We had an issue with with electricity but Jeewantha organised another property managed by Jetwing for us to stay with minimal inconvenience in moving places. Had a very enjoyable time at both properties.
- Nadeeka (1/5): Bad - No one there at hotel on arrival. Only small noticed writer that we must wait for the butler. The main entrance was very dirty. Not sure if someone had been there for a some time.
- Russell (7/5): Rustic but needs maintanence to bring it back to its glory. - It’s a real colonial cottage and it’s really rustic with board games and a private dining area. The place is serviced by a butler from the main Jetwing St. Andrew’s. The beds are super comfortable and I sleep like a baby. I think that Jetwing uses the same beds at all their resorts. Tranquil and nice area. Sadly it’s not well maintained as the electrical systems and heating can be on and off. Sometimes they need to call the repair guys to trouble shoot. The cottage itself on closer look is also abit rundown and the pictures are taken maybe when the renovations were new.
- Miskin (4/5): Disappointing -
- Tracey (8/5): Very good - A very comfortable stay in a charming cottage. Great bed! Kapil gave us excellent service.
- Vladimira (9/5): Superb -
- Adeline (9/5): Loved It Very Much - Location was strategic, just a few minutes walk to the town area with eateries, supermarkets and other amenities. The old English cottage atmospheres were well preserved.
The room was spacious with windows, and blinds for natural lighting. The furniture were adequate, and very practical settings of space.
Mostly, importantly the bed was comfortable, shower’s pressure was good with hot water, and there was a heater in the bedroom too.
Loved the place so much, and highly recommend to those that budget it within its range.
Jevanta, the staff very helpful, and friendly as well. Nil
- Pankaj (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - We were so kindly welcomed!
A small house for us, very comfortable and spacious with its own sitting area. A very big thank you to the young man who looked after us.
- Pauline (7/5): Good - Cosy quiet cottage . Large room with living & the butler went the extra mile to do food pick up .
- Rama (10/5): Centrally located colonial-styled cottage with fabulous breakfasts at St. Andrews. - It was interesting to stay in a colonial-styled cottage instead of a full-fledged hotel. I was the only guest for the two nights I was there, but Jeewantha, the gentleman running the place, made sure I was fully taken care of. The rooms were always sparkling clean, and for breakfast I was ushered to St. Andrews where the sit-down spread was a veritable work of art. To top it, Nuwera Eliya's various colonial buildings were only a short walk away.
- Oshadee (8/5): Very good -
- Deepak (7/5): Good -
- Santiago (10/5): Exceptional - This was a very convenient place as this was in the town itself. Staff member Kapila was really helpful.
- chamaracdj (6/5): Peaceful and Calm stay - We reserved this as a quick choice for our next wedding anniversary. Very innocent caretaker was there to serve us and he welcomed us with a hot soup. This is a cottage with two large suites and a room other than the living area and dining area. We stayed at a one suite and it was a very clean and spacious one with a clean attached bathroom.
For the foods, they offered an option to go and join with the buffet at Jetwing St. Andrews and the both dinner and breakfast buffet was awesome as usual we had in our previous stay with Jerwing St. Andrews. St Andrews and town is a walking distance from the cottage.
Overall, we had a peaceful and calm stay. But the garden there at cottage has not properly maintained and cleaned. If that is properly maintained I would have given another star for the rating. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the quaint place, the staff & the food.
The soap holder was full of rust & definitely not a plus point.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - スタッフの対応は良く快適に過ごせました。
朝食は5分くらい歩きますが本館で取ることができました。
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was damp and moldy I got sick management moved me to their other property
No staff on duty most of the time
Cannot be grated 4 stars more like 2
- Trevor (8/5): Very comfortable - The accommodation suite is generously proportioned and a attendants were very helpful. The only issue that I had was this facility is being run as an adjunct to Jetwing St Andrews. The main hotel looks lovely and the dinning setting good. Buffet breakfast somewhat limited but service was great.
- THARI🇱🇰 (10/5): - Super clean and comfortable rooms great service wish to be back soon
- Ann (10/5): Lovely Cottage in the City - My niece and I took a world wind tour around this beautiful area of Sri Lanka. Our stay at The Jetwing Cottage was definitely a highlight. Ranjit was an amazing host. He had lovingly decorated the cottage with Christmas decorations he made himself. The cottage itself is like stepping back in time,, although outfitted with a comfortable bed and nice shower. We were treated to a lovely breakfast made to order in the dining room. I would definitely stay here again!
- Ian (8/5): Comfortable Cottage and Lunch at St Andrew’s - The Cottage is really pleasant. What made it for me is the use of St Andrew’s Hotel facilities up the road. It’s really delightful to have lunch and dinner at the hotel, not to mention a drink by the roaring fire. However I must say service was really good at The Cottage. It was a great stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Service et repas impeccables - La chambre est propre et confortable. Le service et les repas sont impeccables. En revanche, l’hotel est situé proche d’une mosquée assez bruyante tout comme les rues adjacentes qui le sont aussi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Interesting cottage design.
The only downside is the breakfast is serving very slow.
- John C (8/5): Quaint place - We stayed at this quaint 3 room cottage in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, clean cozy cottage. The place was spotless and had great wifi connection. It had a separate living room but the bathroom was small. Our room included breakfast which we had to walk about 5 minutes to there sister location the Jetwing St Andrews. Beautiful hotel, and great breakfast. We also had a great dinner at the same hotel. The staff was wonderful at both places. The only small complaint was at night we could hear dogs barking as the cottage is on a corner.
- MK (8/5): Convenient location and excellent restaurant. - The one thing I have experienced while using expedia.com for my travel reservations is this stand-offish attitude from the hotel desk and it happened again but in a very negative way with this particular hotel. We were traveling for Christmas, there are five of us, two adults and three children. The reservation form for this hotel did not allow for three children, it claimed that there were too many children for the two rooms I was reserving, so I registered for one adult and one child in each room as well as one extra bed I thought in one of the rooms, but as it turned out it was for an extra person in each room. When mentioning this to the desk and asking them for some sort of gesture for the overpayment (I thought a free breakfast for the third kid) they refused in a very rude way referring to this reservation coming from expedia as second or third class. I thought the way he handled the situation was very unprofessional. I spent time calling expedia to ask for advice and they were very helpful with this situation.
I do not understand why there is this negative attitude from hotels for making reservations through expedia, so many things are done on-line now, especially travel arrangements. This particular trip was to Sri Lanka but I have experienced this same attitude in Qatar, in the US and in Europe. The hotels should be grateful for expedia bringing us to their establishments, many of whom would be unknown without the help of the on-line booking site.
