• Paul (10/5): hospitalité exceptionnelle - De prime abord, logement familial sans prétention, propre et bien tenu ; un peu isolé du centre de Kandy, mais du coup très calme, avec une magnifique vue dont nous pouvions profiter depuis la chambre (et même la salle de bain) sur la campagne avoisinante. La clim fonctionne très bien, l’eau est chaude. Puis, au fil du séjour, nous sommes tombés sous le charme de cet hôtel, une véritable pépite, notamment grâce à la qualité d’accueil de ses hôtes. La nourriture est incroyable (nous l’avions lu dans de nombreux avis d’hôtels, mais là, c’était au-dessus), le service également, avec de multiples petites attentions. Par exemple, le propriétaire nous a recommandé une application de taxi plutôt que de prendre une commission en le commandant pour nous. Quand notre fils de 3 ans ne voulait pas rendre les clés de la chambre en partant, il lui a offert un petit porte-clés en échange. Et après le check-out, alors que nous étions déjà partis, il a fait 15 minutes de moto pour nous rapporter le doudou que notre fils avait oublié. Bref, nous recommandons vraiment. Après cela, nous sommes allés dans un 5 étoiles avec forcément plus de prestations, mais nous avons regretté l’humilité, la générosité et la gentillesse d’Aruna et de sa famille Franchement rien

• Dr. Igor (8/5): Schöner Aufenthalt - Ausblick und Lage sind schön, allerdings ist die Anfahrt mit einem größeren Auto etwas komplizierter. Die Inhaber sind sehr bemüht und nett. Sehr gute und geräuschlose Klimatisierung. Das WLAN ist so instabil, dass man es eigentlich gar nicht benutzen kann. Wir mussten alles über mobile Daten machen. Außerdem haben wir es als negativ empfunden, dass ein 3%-Aufschlag für Kartenzahlung vorgenommen wird, der bei der Buchung über booking.com nicht enthalten ist und deswegen willkürlich wirkt.

It wasn’t entirely quiet, but certainly quieter, and less busy than downtown Kandy. We also loved the hospitality and the food that was served! They make a fabulous breakfast and they are flexible for dinner requests made with 3 hours notice. You do not have to hunt for restaurants when you stay here. The owners. They are so kind and friendly and helpful. Even after two nights, it was a little hard to leave. The outdoor shower :) Nothing, really. The Wi-Fi could be faster but I have tried much worse.

• Barbara (10/5): Traumhafte Aussicht und herzliche Gastgeber - Wunderschöne Aussicht von der Terrasse. Zimmer blitzsauber. Aber was diese Unterkunft wirklich ganz besonders macht, sind die unglaublich herzlichen sympathischen Gastgeber! Wir wurden wahnsinnig lecker bekocht, sowohl Frühstück als auch Dinner war ein Traum. Ich kann diese Unterkunft wirklich nur wärmstens empfehlen! Die Lage ist nicht zentral in Town, das muss man wissen. Aber es ist nur eine kleine TukTuk Fahrt, für uns was das kein Problem. Und die Ruhe und die Aussicht ist dafür fantastisch

La vista che si ha dalla camera è superlativa, ma il vero valore aggiunto di questo posto sono i due fantastici padroni di casa. Avete presente il detto "è come stare a casa propria"? Ecco, qui è come stare a casa dei propri genitori, coccolati, con una cucina super e dei sorrisi che scaldano il ❤️, se avessimo potuto ci saremmo sicuramente fermati più giorni. Ps: incluso nella tariffa c'è anche l'appartamento per il driver, davvero un'ottima idea! Tutto perfetto.

• Jill (10/5): Just book it - Villa Arunalu is as close to perfect as it is possible to get. The Villa and rooms are spotlessly clean, the view from the balcony is beautiful and the hosts are kind and hospitable. Breakfast was delicious and the service was attentive but never overbearing. Our driver stayed in the driver's accommodation and also commented on how kind and welcoming the hosts were. On top of all this it was amazingly good value for money. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would not hesitate to book again or recommend.

• Nishyanthan (9/5): Great 2 night stay in Villa Arunalu. - I wanted to share my positive experience at Villa Arunalu Kandy. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly, which made us feel very comfortable and safe throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, and the view from the breakfast area was truly great. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The drive to the hotel from the main road was a bit tricky due to the narrow street. However, our excellent driver made it easy to reach the hotel.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with an amazing view from both the balcony and the bed. The couple running the villa were wonderful and helped organise a tuk tuk to see some of Kandy’s highlights. Breakfast was excellent, with special Sri Lankan treats straight from the garden. Even though I only stayed one night, it was a truly lovely experience.

• Elizabeth (10/5): It was so nice to stay here and meet the wonderfully hospitable couple who run this guesthouse. Finding out a little bit - A charming guesthouse with incredible views from the family room balcony. Very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great too. We were very well looked after by this lovely couple who clearly want to offer their guests a truly memorable stay in their beautiful country. There is nothing to dislike about the property. Due to the location being a bit more rural, take the owner’s advice and ask cab drivers to call him to check the correct route from town. It’s only a fifteen minute drive and well worth it.
• Daniel (10/5): - Super freundliche Gastgeber, die einem immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen. Das Frühstück wird jeden Morgen individuell und frisch zubereitet und ist super lecker. Hierbei wird stets nach Wünschen gefragt und praktisch alles erfüllt, was möglich ist. Sehr ruhige Lage mit tollem Blick, auch in der Dusche! Leise Klimaanlage. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Da die Anfahrt aufgrund der sehr steilen Straße für unser Auto nicht möglich war, hat uns der Gastgeber immer mit seinem Tuk Tuk abgeholt und runtergefahren. Vielen Dank nochmals dafür! Für unseren Fahrer gab es eine kostenlose Unterkunft inklusive Frühstück. nichts außer dem Wetter, da wir leider sehr regnerische Tage erwischt haben ;)

• Victoria (10/5): Perfection in the hills! - The staff in this hotel absolutely make it! They are an absolute delight and look after you so much! The food is perfect and I would definitely recommend having dinner there one night! The breakfast is massive! Rooms lovely, view incredible! The only issue is the location, it was sometimes difficult to get a Tuk Tuk to take me back to the hotel as it is right in the hills, as a female solo traveller this became an issue at night, but I just offered to pay more and eventually got a Tuk Tuk! But totally worth it!

• Séverine (10/5): Séjour aux petits oignons à Kandy - Superbe villa un petit peu à l’extérieur de Kandy. Les propriétaires sont très sympathique et donnent de bons conseils sur les visites à faire à Kandy et environs. Nous ont organisés les tuk tuk pour la visite de Kandy ainsi que le taxi pour nous amener à la gare. Les chambres sont grandes et spacieuses, tout confort avec un balcon et très belle vue. Les petits déjeuners sont un délice, nous avons découvert les jus d’avocat 🙂. Et les diners sri-lankais sont très bons. L'aménagement de la suite familiale, avec 2 salles de bain, deux balcons dont l'un avec une vue panoramique depuis les hauteurs de Kandy sur les Knuckles. Le petit déjeuner excellent et copieux, avec fruits, jus de fruit frais, roti (pain à base de noix de coco).... Nous avons pu dîner chaque soir sur place, toujours servis avec le sourire, sur une belle terrasse avec vue sur la ville et les montagnes.

• Akilesh (10/5): Amazing, really recommend - Really awesome stay, they main Kandy location can be a bit overwhelming whereas this location is about 20 minutes away, and a bit tricky to get to as its on the hills but once you're there, it's amazing especially the views across the lake and the absolutely amazing hosts who really looked after us. We would definitely come back and stay just to hang out with them again. They were so friendly and helpful, regularly checking in on us and just absolutely the kind of service you'll find only in boutique hotels like this.

• Karina (10/5): Die beste Unterkunft unserer Reise durch Sri Lanka - 12 out of 10 ! - Die Unterkunft hat unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen. Die Photos werden der Realität eigtl. gar nicht gerecht. Unser Zimmer hatte große Fenster und war lichtdurchflutet. Das absolute Highlight: Die angebaute Außendusche mit Blick auf den See. Man ist absolut blickgeschützt, auch Insekten behelligten uns nicht. Dafür ein Traumausblick in die Landschaft bei einer heißen Dusche mit ordentlich Wasserdruck. Der Balkon ist ebenfalls groß, das Zimmer bietet reichlich Platz und wird täglich gereinigt. Gefrühstückt wurde auf der Terrasse. Jeden Morgen gab es etwas anderes, was frisch zubereitet und unseren Wünschen angepasst wurde. Mittagessen und Abendessen wird je nach Bedarf zubereitet - es ist wahnsinnig lecker und die Portionen sind riesig! Die Unterkunft ist etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum von Kandy, aber in 20-25 Minuten ist man mit dem Auto problemlos in der Stadt und das ist die Lage absolut wert. Ansonsten können wir uns den anderen Bewertungen nur anschließen: die Gastgeber sind unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit. Sie helfen beim Organisieren von Fahrten oder Touren und auch sonst eigtl. bei allem. Wir haben uns in den drei Tagen wie ein Teil der Familie gefühlt und die Abreise ist uns richtig schwer gefallen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen! Lieben Dank für alles.

• Lyudmila (10/5): A dream place to stay just outside of Kandy - Our stay in Villa Arunalu was one of pure joy. Its not just an accomodation (fantastic), view from the balcony (stunning), breakfast and dinner (one of the best in the country) - its a whole package including amazing family which runs the place, their obvious passion for what they do, genuine interest in people and sincere desire to help you all the time. We had the most interesting conversations and learned a lot about local medicinal plants. Thank you for the soursop fruit, guys! It was delicios. Keep up with your amazing work! We recommend this place wholeheartedly! We arrived to the Villa with our own car and took an official Google map route - which brings you via very steep (think 40 degrees) drive up the hill. Our car eventually stalled and needed to be pushed. The host sent an alternative (much easier) route via WA but we've seen it too late. :)

Comfortable bed, good shower, plenty of space for luggage, awesome balcony with view and nice chairs, and nice breakfast (half Sri Lankan half western, with a large lot of tea).

(very kind of them) - Breakfast was included and the home cooked breakfast with team and fruits with amazing views was very humbling. - The accommodation itself was well kept and the sunrise views were breathtaking. - My family enjoyed every bit of it as well! - Again a big thank you to Aruna and Suranji, very courteous hosts and looked after us in all aspects. - Highly recommended while in Kandy. - Can hardly think of anything.
