Guest Reviews
- Abigail (10/5): Great Find - Great little hotel, well positioned for exploring Versailles old town as well as the chateau etc. We drove but it is right by the station . Nice and quiet. Good breakfast. Lovely staff.
- Wolfgang (2/5): - Katastrophal.
- mariano (2/5): - Absolutely horrible we didn’t have AC for 4 hours and they have bed bugs. We left and they refused to give us a refund…. Do not stay here, the rooms are small and it is not in a good part of versalies
- Greg (8/5): - Friendly, helpful registration.
Received good advice on restaurants, etc. Arrived early and stored luggage (there is no designated storage so luggage on stairs to basement).
Rooms updated and looked better than building.
- Spencer (8/5): - Clean accommodations with friendly staff. Only a short 10min walk to Versailles.
- Cynthia (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Great hotel very close to the train station. The gentleman at the desk is very helpful and kind. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked nice when we went up for a coffee. Highly recommend staying here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stau - Staff was very helpful, breakfast was great and room was clean and comfortable.
- Issy (10/5): - Convenient, clean, friendly staff and very comfy beds!
- Cristina (10/5): Affordable, Friendly, Clean, Convenient! - Hotel is across from the Chantiers station, making it super easy to access. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and it was a great option for a weekend stay!
- Guenola (10/5): - Super clean and I slept in a good room .
Thank you
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Nice clean hotel with friendly staff.
- EMIN (10/5): - Nice clean hotel conveniently located if you have an early train ride from the near by train station.
- Anne (10/5): - Would stay here every time I go to Paris!
Best breakfast as well
- Alain (8/5): Bonne adresse - Très bon hôtel Bonne adresses à recommander
Cependant manque un bon restaurant à proximité
- Christophe (10/5): - Merci
- JIM (10/5): - My stay was really nice at the hotel. Hotel was easy access to the train and Versailles. Overall, very good!
- Lazara (10/5): - I truly enjoyed my stay here. The staff is amazing and so considerate. Everyone at this hotel was friendly, welcoming, and extremely professional. This is a good place to stay if you don’t want to be in a very busy area but also close to Versailles. Overall, I would stay here again and thank you for giving my family and I such a wonderful first time visit to France.
- Philippa (8/5): - Convenient to visit family
- Lorna (10/5): - Safe clean and quiet
- Carlisle (10/5): - Smooth check in and out! Very clean and breakfast was good!
- Ralph (10/5): Hotel Chantiers Review - The hotel was conveniently located near the train station and the palace.
- Klaas (8/5): - everything was on walkable distance, looked clean, up to date, nice roof terrace, only shower cabine leaked and balcony door was in the bathroom. No complaint, was in every respect good.
- Jennifer (10/5): Convenient to train station and Pakace - We booked last minute and were happy with our room and it’s convenient location. Nearby laundromat was a welcome bonus.
- Christin (10/5): - The staff were very welcoming and helpful answering our questions. The room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was good and served on the terrace with a lovely view. The location is convenient and you can walk to the Chateau from there easily in 15 minutes or so. We parked in the public parking a few blocks away (Sceaux). The beds were comfortable and the room was a comfortable temperature (not too hot like other places we've stayed, rather it was around 68 degrees or so). Would stay there again if in the area.
- Esther (10/5): Todo perfecto!!!
- Michelle (8/5): - The staff was super friendly and helpful. I stayed in the deluxe twin room and it had plenty of room in both the bathroom and sleeping area. The hotel was in a safe area but a bit of a walk to the palace and gardens (15 min at quicker pace). Most of the restaurants are further out as well. The rooms are a bit dated and showing some wear and the carpet in the hallway has lots of beach stains. The breakfast was pretty good with eggs a as the only hot option I recall. Overall, It was a good stay and made it more coincident for visiting the sites than leaving Paris for a day trip.
- Michelle (8/5): Small but clean. - Small but clean room, breakfast bit pricy for limited choice.
Thought there was onsite parking, had to use multi store carpark, quite a walk away.
- Cathy (8/5): Clean, Comfortable and Quiet - Quiet, clean with excellent multi-lingual staff and a decent breakfast. Far enough away from the Chateau to be quiet but felt a little barren at night. Across the street from the Versailles Chantiers train station and lots of eclectic eating options.
- Sheila (10/5): - Lovely staff, clean and comfortable room. Great coffee machine in room. Nice outside sitting area. Very convenient for train station. Good location
- phoebe (10/5): - Walking distance to Versailles palace and both train stations. The staff was so kind! The breakfast was lovely and everyone we interacted with was great. They have bikes for rent as well. Great bed and slept like a baby
- Michael (4/5): Smelly Bathroom - Three trips to reception to get a key card that worked to access my room.
Bathroom smelt of sewers, very very unpleasant.
- LAURIAN (10/5): Excellent. - The room is acceptable and the staff nice and kind .
I'll book again this hotel . The parking is a problem but a public parking is near by.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Book it - Wonderful location, room, and general reception. Go ahead and book this hotel.
- Janet (10/5): Across from Chantiers train station - Great location for early trains. Very walkable to Versailles and other attractions. Front desk personnel were extremely helpful. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel. Comfortable bed and very clean. Has a Nespresso coffee machine in the room and the shower was great. Couple of English speaking news channels. Stayed in a room on the corner and was very quiet. The night reception man was very helpful. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.
- Jeanne (10/5): - Wonderful fresh complimentary breakfast spread, served up on the 6th floor with a view! The charming breakfast room is themed after Royalty, including a chart of who's who. The hotel is very close /convienent to the RER Chantiers station. It's a 10 minute walk down to the Palace. Also convenient is a small laundromat right around the corner. I am glad we chose to stay overnignt in the town of Versailles, because it was a nice reprieve from the bustle of Paris, though still had a nice cosmopolitan feel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved the hotel , hospitality and cleanliness was world class. The staffs were awesome and made us feel like home. No complains to talk about. Simply superb.
- Mary (10/5): - Very nice hotel in good location close to train station
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good modern rooms and facilities. 10 minutes walk to Versailles palace. Room was a bit on the small side but more than adequate for 2. Rooms serviced saily to good standard.Coffees replenished too.
- Timothy (8/5): Good 3 star hotel - 15 minutes walk to the chateau. Value for money hotel. I would recommend it. Can’t think of anything to complain about. Friendly service, nice breakfast, room was modern and reasonably spacious. Beds were ok. Do tend to slide easily so if you attempt to sneak into the other bed you can end up on the floor!
- Joanne (8/5): - Good location, modern room and beautiful breakfast location/ food.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very nice people and location near train depot.
Bathroom is a cheap remodel.
Plastic sink had cigarette burns and toilet wobbled.
- Michelle (8/5): Our stay was just fine - I expected more after reading the reviews. To me the area was fine, the service was fine and the room was fine. We were told we would receive one complimentary drink so we went to the honor bar for 1 beer and at check out we learned that the free drink was only from the mini bar in our room. I guess I didn’t read the details. Not a big deal.
- Dustin (8/5): Good hotel but wouldn't stay again - This hotel was a bit further from the palace and metro station than expected.
We checked in and were given a room was looked like it was being built. We left our luggage and were given another room when we came back.
It was odd that breakfast was not included. The pamphlets state coffee and sodas are included, but it seemed odd to get either during breakfast time when that wasn't included.
The hotel is on a corner of very busy and high traffic streets. It was very noisy at all times of the day and night. The fire alarm also went off early in the morning so we definitely didn't get quality sleep here.
I'm not against staying here again, but I would absolutely look at other locations before booking here.
- Anne (10/5): - Very good hotel, close to train station and only 10 minute walk to bars/restaurants. Helpful staff, clean room, comfy bed, good coffee maker. Nice and quiet. The only let down was that we requested extra pillows and they weren’t provided.
- David (8/5): - Cosy hotel and very pleasant staff. Rooms okay for tourists but not great for business travellers. Desk space limited and WiFi not great. Lovely breakfast and great location
- R (10/5): - clean, helpful staff, goo breakfast. Great location. Only problem - to find parking
- Brian (8/5): Great hotel! - Went the extra mile for us with our requests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel, close to the station and the palace - The hotel is close to the palace. Our room was on the top floor facing the station. As the windows were soundproof we had a good night sleep. The only downside was that the coffe facility in the room was not refilled daily, however there was free coffe in the restaurant. All in all we had a really plasant stay, I would recommend this hotel.
- DOROTHY (10/5): Comfortable hotel - Ideal location close to Chantiers staion. Ten minute walk to Chateau. Room small but adequate.Hot drinks always available in kitchen on top floor. Breakfast okay.
- Susan (6/5): just ok - A couple of cleanliness issues; their carpets could do with a good shampoo. Dirty towels from previous guest still in bathroom upon arrival.
Other than that, perfectly fine considering the price. Decent location (worth noting there's quite a bit of construction on at the moment directly outside the hotel so a bit noisy).
- K (4/5): Looks better in pictures - Located next to station, however there is a huge building site opposite and the double glazing not very effective. Rooms air conditioned but very small and not particularly clean.
Had a real issue on check in. Our itinerary from Expedia clearly stated breakfast included but the lady on the desk kept saying ‘no this is impossible it is too cheap’ and that we would have to pay and claim back ourselves!!
- Carol (10/5): - Quiet and clean and close to SNCF train as well as about 10 minute walk from RER C, which stops about two blocks from Chateau Versailles. The staff was incredibly helpful. Just around corner is a litte local marche for waters, etc. There is a Boulangerie, a Fromagerie, boutiques and such. Near the RER is a street with great restaurants to the side of the Chateau. We went on Monday when Chateau was closed, but gardens were open and not crowded. Took the skip the line tour the next day and glad with did...with Viatour located across from RER train station and McDonald's (wi fi and bathrooms).
- Susan (10/5): Excellent hotel! - Great location, easy access to food, bars, Versailles and transportation into Paris. Staff were wonderful, fantastic roof top breakfast. Would highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to Versailles Palace - The rooms were very comfortable and nicely updated.
- Yen (8/5): Very good - Everything was good. However, a kettle in the room for making tea and coffee would have made it perfect!
- Kenneth (8/5): A pretty good place - Good place at a decent price. Breakfast was average. The rooms are small as in all of Europe. The toilet a concern. I'm a big guy and my butt barely made it in there. Big guys beware. The staff was very friendly. Justin Beber's brother works at the desk at night. (He's a dead ringer.) It was easy walking distance to the Palace of Versailles. If you want a taste of Paris it is a good start. Enjoy.
- TanZel (10/5): Recommended - The hotel was clean and all the staff I came across were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and it was decorated nicely. The Palace, shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. The station is only a few minutes away. I would happily go back. Indeed, I am hoping to stay there with my parents next time.
- Mary (10/5): Nice hotel, parking nearby, staff fab - The hotel was quite near to the palace of Versailles, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very omfortable, the breakfast was lovely.
- Kathy (10/5): - Very nice comfortable clean hotel. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Close to everything including car rentals. We stayed here for three days. took train to Paris for a day which was easy and fast, saw Versailles which was close by and then rented car to drive to our next destination.
- Verified traveler (10/5): good location - Convenient location for RER and Palace of Versailles
- Iwin (8/5): Convenience and nice hotel - it's my first time staying in versailles for holiday. this hotel location is the best as it's just within 2 mins walk from the nearest train station towards paris and other places. the room is clean n the staff are very nice and welcoming ! everything is well during the stay. the buffet breakfast is good and relaxing enough to spend a quiet moment on your own w the well prepared food n drinks. François-jean is incredibly friendly, thanks for the kindness:)
- George (8/5): Decent hotel - New, clean and modern. Small hotel mins walk from the palace and across the street from the Chantiers train station. Rooms small and a tight fit in the bathroom! Our room carpet needed a clean but other than that the place is clean and bright. Breakfast room is on 6th floor with a nice view (and eat on balcony if weather permits) - adequate breakfast and for 12 Euros in Paris is about all you can expect. A few restaurants nearby were cheap enough - menu de jour (2 courses) for 19.50 Euros. Carparking in Versailles - good luck! download the app Paybyphone and use that as it covers all on street parking at around 15 Euros per day. Paris about 30 mins away by train for a cheap 8 Euros one way.
- Mark (10/5): Marseilles visit - Superb modern hotel near bars, shops and train station. 15 minutes walk to entrance of palace.
- Stacy (10/5): Nice hotel and close to train station. - Very friendly staff. He allowed us to check in 3 hours early.
- Grace (6/5): Good value for money - Seal on bathroom window was broken so it was very cold when we used it. The room and bed was comfortable Unfortunately it is on a very busy road. The breakfast room is lovely with a lovely view
- Sarah (8/5): Quiet Hotel in Versailles - The hotel is clean and quiet and well located, only a 15-mn walk to Castle.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Only drawbacks:
- no kettle or coffee maker in room (huge drawback as far as I am concerned. They had a room on 6th floor, but in the morning, I like to have a cup of coffee only, on my own, without people)
- no safe in room
- no iron or ironing board. Had to ask at desk. They had one but the cover on the ironing board was old and not very clean.
- no individual soap or shampoo: instead a combined mix soap/shampoo, not the thing you really want to use as it is not good for either hair and skin (not same Ph.)
- you have to give the electronic key at the desk when you leave and sometimes when you come back there is no one at the reception desk so you have to call. Not always obvious to call France from a foreign phone if you do not have an international plan...
- no business amenities and the Wi-Fi worked for the phone but not so much for the computer: not enough bandwidth?
- no extra blanket and no extra pillows (only 2 pillows, way too soft)
- Tony (8/5): Very convenient hotel - Everything about the hotel was very nice. Rooms clean , staff very helpful. Yes and coffee facilities in the room would have been nice, having said that it was freely available in the small cafeteria on the sixth floor, free of charge and easily accessible via the lift
The only downside, and this is Versailles as a whole, not specifically the hotel was parking. But the receptionist at the hotel was very helping Gil in suggesting areas to try and prices concerned . Would happily recommend to anyone planning to visit Versailles
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location in Versailles - Friendly knowledgable staff. Easy to unload bags from our car at hotel door but parking was on the street or a couple of blocks away, comfy bed, clean and we recommend this hotel for people visiting the amazing palace of Versailles.
- Clendon (6/5): Hotel Versailles - We were in Room 61 on the 6th Floor - next to kitchen. We heard the staff every morning at 4:45 AM - hearing the chime of the microwave as they heated the food, whistling, and dropping pans (need a sound proof door). Food was adequate but they ran out cheese after the initial day there.
While room was nice it was quite cramped - especially in bathroom. Hard to maneuver and shower was so small that you could not effectively bathe yourself. Shower floor was very slippery - need a rubber mat or other non-slip material.
While I have already addressed the parking issue, I did not feel comfortable leaving my car in an unsecured area - on side streets and parking lots. I received an email from the owner that they are working on that.
- V (4/5): Room not clean - Room was not clean. Bathroom had black mold in grout and pink mildew. Lady working the front desk was rude confronting me in front of other guests regarding my negative comments when reviewing check in with expedia. She also demanded our room keycard without an explanation until we questioned why. It was so they could clean the room, which they must not have done prior to us checking in. There was no ice available unless the hotel clerk went to get it and placed in a bowl which had to be returned before breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect for a short weekend break to see the Palace of Versailles. Easy walking distance to Palace and plenty of restaurants.
- Chuck (10/5): Great spot in Versailles - Nice hotel, easy to get to the Palace, nice people!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The only tricky thing about the location is that the closest metro stop is under construction.
- Gary (8/5): Nice little place - Nice place to stay and take train into Paris. They close their gate about 1 am. But you can Buzz them and they will let you in. Not that impressed with Breakfast offered.
- Sharon (10/5): Weekend break - Fantastic stay in Versailles hotel was as described clean comfortable very new and pleasantly decorated with a good choice of breakfast.
- Mustafa (10/5): A nice Hotel in Versailles - New Hotel with basic but good service. Friendly Staff.
- Jon (10/5): Clean, well-appointed, good value! - Very nicely appointed hotel, located very close to le Chateau Versailles. The room was spacious and the shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water! The bathroom was a tad snug, but they made very good use of the space and the room itself was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable and the hotel staff (Antoine) was extremely accommodating and spoke English very well, which was very helpful to us. Easy parking situation. Heads up: we were surprised by the hotel policy that guests must leave their key with the desk clerk as you come and go, but I've since learned this is very common in Europe, so if that's new to you, don't be off-put by it :).
- John (6/5): Very good location. - Excellent location from Versailles Chantiers train station. Not too far a walk from the Palace of Versailles either! Just disappointed that the hotel had no other amenities - no bar, no restaurant, for example - and so arriving late (as we did!) meant that we then had to venture out in search of food and drink!
- Adam (10/5): FABULOUS !!!!! - Very clean and comfortable, also according to the missus the shower was excellent , very powerful which apparently is a must !
Hey USB sockets would be good !
- Lesley (8/5): Pleasant Stay - This hotel is in a great location - close to the railway station and only 10-15 minutes to The Palace of Versailles. The room was basic but was very clean. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
- Li (8/5): Very clean hotel with good money value - No Kettle and fridge in room. You need to request it when you make the booking. Others are good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Smart well located hotel - Easy to find if you take the right exit! 10 mins walk from palace and lots of shops nearby. friendly staff.
- Judith (10/5): Convenient clean and comfortable hotel. - Friendly and helpful staff ; stylish decor; good range for breakfast. This isn't a luxurious hotel, but is well situated, modern, clean, and comfortable. Did the job for me at a reasonable price. Would recommend.
- Mr STEVEN (10/5): versailles break - The hotel was right next to Versailles Chantiers RER station & about a 15 minute walk to Versailles chateau. The receptionist was very friendly. Fantastic breakfast.
