- Kelly (10/5): Perfection - The ease of parking and friendly staff

- Mark (10/5): This is a wonderful place to stay - This is a great place to stay. The room was very quiet and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend it. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely book this again. There was nothing I did not like.

- Gary (8/5): We was only there for the one night, so the rules didnt really worry us. Its a beautiful home. - The breakfast was very good, and the location was excellent for restaurants, and the free car parking at the rear of the property was excellent. The bathroom was tight of space but manageable. There was a lot of rules, and I thought the taking off of our shoes at the front door I found unnecessary,
- Rebecca (10/5): We loved our two night stay in this historic home. We walked a few blocks to restaurants and it’s a short drive to Senec - The room was very comfy with an updated, tiled shower bathroom. There was a light above the bed and a plug in tower for cell phones. The breakfast was yummy with a lovely presentation. The host provided interesting conversations about the history of the area and places to visit. There is private parking in the rear. Nothing really.
- Cynthia (10/5): Gridley Inn is comfortable, clean and quiet with thoughtful extras. - It was clean and quiet. Our bed was comfortable. We met two other couples, one as they watched a baseball game in the upstairs common area, and both couples at breakfast. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I appreciated that they had a fridge where we could help ourselves to bottled water and sodas. There were puzzles and games in the downstairs living area and we played dominos. Great stay. We had the upstairs back bedroom and had to walk the furthest to the parking lot from the front door. It wasn’t a problem but could be with mobility issues or bad weather.

- Sergio (7/5): - Location, owner, cleaning, Mood, breakfast There wasn't bath cream like shampoo, body soap. Just opened hand soap. The only think not at the same level of the other aspects
- Mary (8/5): -
- Dumond (3/5): Owner didn't seem happy to see us at any point, breakfast wasn't nearly as nice as I'd hoped. - The bed was quite comfy, the rooms / entire property was quiet, and the location is ideal - right on the main street through Waterloo, and just minutes away from the lake, from a fun golfing spot, and from Geneva. The owner/main shift worker - they were somewhat abrasive and didn't seem at all happy to deal with guests. LOTS of rules and LOTS of warnings about food in the bedroom, about being to breakfast early, and even about how to hold conversation during breakfast.
Didn't feel welcoming, more like we were an imposition than valued guests.
- David (10/5): -
- Robert (8/5): Good enough for an overnight but not for a stay - The B&B was located OK for our travels but we probably wouldn't return. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. We liked it was near restaurants (one that we particularly enjoyed). We We didn't like all the restrictive rules (check-in time, breakfast time, checkout time). We did not like the parking situation. We especially did not like the email that told us that their time was more important than ours and that we would have to adjust our travel schedule to meet THEIR needs or wants. We especially didn't like their late fee for arriving after 6:00 PM. We did not like that the shower/vanity were open to the sleeping area. We could understand why but still didn't like it since I am an earlier riser and my wife is a late riser. All of these items were turnoffs. won't be returning even if we are in the area.

- David (9/5): - Breakfast
- Jennifer (9/5): We had fun and enjoyed exploring the historic home. - The breakfast was wonderful. We enjoyed interacting with the other guests and Stef.
- Ivan (9/5): WhatsApp - Location. Nice house.great breakfast I can't call from My cellphone...incan only use internet phonecalls ..Better to have a WhatsApp contact.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cubria (10/5): Exceptional - Location was central to everything we wanted to see.
- Steve (10/5): Wonderful historical Inn, convenient to all the things that make the Finger Lakes so special. Operated by intelligent an - Beautiful historical Inn that has maintained its elegance yet has received modern upgrades. Comfortable beds, beautifully appointed period furnishings, wonderful art, convenient location, great breakfast and exceptional hosts. Everything was wonderful!
- Lois (10/5): Lovely - Beautiful home… Victorian decoration All great
Breakfast delicious
- Margie (1/5): Sorry I brought my friends here and made them spend money to stay here. - Location was on main thoroughfare in Waterloo. I have used Booking.com throughout the world. Never have I been given a list of rules and $ amounts for replacement of stained items ranging from $250 for rug cleaning to $35 for a pillow case. These rules were sent to me after full payment was taken. Welcome was awkward and unfriendly. B&B owner was rude to group especially to one who was hard of hearing. Rooms were quite difficult to access, many stairs, then several halls. Rooms were small, and bathroom was even smaller. We did play games on first floor (you could not drink on 2nd floor), however, there was no way for us to get water to drink unless we went back upstairs. Of the 4 B&B's we stayed at in the Finger Lakes, this was the smallest and had the least desirable breakfast, and the worst lodging experience.
- Sommer (3/5): Poor -
- Christopher (8/5): Very good - Tasty Breafast plus delicious coffee.
- Campbell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (5/5): Passable -
- Jerome (10/5): Different experience and enjoyed it - Decor No tv in rooms
- Joan (7/5): Cordial hosts, unique experience - Delicious breakfast, amiable host, very comfortable bed, unique experience in authentic well cared for old house.
Plenty of available parking. Steep stairs to second floor but there is a chairlift available.
- Gail (8/5): Very good -
- Joseph (9/5): Unique experience in an interesting area of upstate New York. - Nice old historic house. Beautiful grounds, nice front porch, surrounded by big trees. Nothing.
- Valarie (10/5): - Stephanie was a great host and a great cook! Breakfast and the coffee was excellent! I would stay there again!
- Amy (10/5): - Stephani was so personable and interested in making our stay both co mfortable and memorable. The property is lovely and all rooms well appointed. I highly recommend staying more than a day in this area!
- Marjorie (9/5): We were very pleased with our stay . - Breakfast was wonderful, beautiful presentation and delicious. Our room was clean, comfy and very homey feeling.
- Broudy (10/5): What a B&B should be - This house has been beautifully restored, with so many lovely design touches. It maintains its charm and character yet offers modern conveniences like a multiport charging device in the bedroom and a really great walk-in shower. Stephani, the host, was welcoming and accommodating and happy to engage in conversation. And she makes a great breakfast—a dutch baby fresh from the oven. The Gridley Inn is a short drive from Seneca Falls and for dinner I had excellent Mexican food at La Fiesta Brava just a two minute walk from the inn.
- Jessie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mary (9/5): Superb - The proprietors were very friendly, we had some funny exchanges. The breakfast was outstanding! We slept great, the bed in the room we were in was very comfortable. We understand details of the decor were worked on extensively by Stephani - lots of fun details like tin ceilings. It was a good stop on a multi-state drive!.
- Kathrin (9/5): It was a perfect short vacation and we will definitely come back. - The Gridley Inn is a beautiful and warm building with an interesting history. It is spacious and has a tasteful decor. It is conveniently located between Seneca and Cayuga Lake and is a perfect base to explore cities like Rochester, Geneva, and Ithaca. Wineries, Cider Houses, waterfalls, and museums are „just around the corner.“
Madison prepared an out of this world breakfast every morning and we were welcomed like family.
- Mary (10/5): We would stay there again. - It was nicely presented, however the strawberry was hard. The quiche seemed to be heated in a microwave making the inside very hot. Our host facilitated engaging and informative conversations with all the guests. More flavorful breakfast.
- Deirdre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (10/5): A B&B That is a Must - Exceptional hosts, beautifully appointed bedrooms, breakfast was other worldly created by one of the owner/chefs.
- Lyone (10/5): All in all, it is always my first choice for lodging in the finger lakes region. - This was my second time staying at the Gridley Inn, and it was great. The decor of the Inn is historical and outstandingly beautiful. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and I slept very well. Instead of the typical breakfast buffet, the owners of the Inn actually cook up a wonderful meal for each guest in the morning. In the evening before I went to sleep I spent some time relaxing down stairs in the living room, reading and enjoying the surroundings. The one suggestion I would make to the owners would be is to upgrade the toilet tissue.
- Peter (9/5): A classy older brick mansion converted to a quaint, pleasant B&B. - The breakfast was delicious - though there was just the single offering - very well prepared. Steph, the host, regaled us with stories as we ate. Yes, downtown Waterloo's a bit down at the heels - though there are delicious restaurant choices nearby. But it's just a short hop to Seneca Falls and other places, too.
- Durden (7/5): Good -
- David (10/5): - Steph was a great host and her breakfasts were amazing. Very laid back and comfortable atmosphere and we appreciated the conversation with Steph during breakfast.
We were in the area to see Mama Mia at the Landmark Theater in Syracuse, so it was a short stay for us. However, the Finger Lakes Region is great area with plenty to do during seasonal times
Thank you Steph for a great stay!
- Clarissa (10/5): - Excellent customer service and accomodating host!
- Brooke (10/5): - People were friendly, house was beautiful and clean. Very quiet and peaceful. Delicious breakfast
- Hawes (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was awesome.
- Karen (10/5): We would stay at this B & B again and highly recommend to family and friends! - Owner was very personable and made our stay feel special. The breakfast was great, along with the socialization of other guests. Decor was beautiful and setup nicely throughout the historic home. No complaints.
- Melinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Autumn (10/5): Amazing place I'd definitely stay at again! - Beautiful place with gorgeous rooms! The owners were so friendly and fun to talk to. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
- Sheera (7/5): the gridley inn was convenient and pleasant for our short trip to the finger lakes. -
- Easton (8/5): Very good -
- Thompson (8/5): Great Historic Stay - The breakfast was phenomenal. With the exception of the noisy sidewalk snow removal process.
- Harsh (10/5): - This vintage Victorian-style inn offers an enchanting retreat, blending historic charm with modern comfort. The beautifully adorned rooms, featuring antique furnishings and intricate details, transport you to a bygone era of elegance. The highlight of the stay is undoubtedly the extraordinary breakfast, lovingly prepared by the kind and attentive innkeeper, whose warm hospitality makes you feel right at home.
Adding to the experience, the inn is perfectly situated near a stunning scenic drive, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills, lush forests, and picturesque countryside. Whether you’re exploring quaint nearby towns, stopping at hidden overlooks, or enjoying peaceful walks, the natural beauty surrounding the inn enhances its allure.
With its cozy ambiance, exceptional service, and proximity to both history and nature, this inn is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway, a relaxing retreat, or a memorable escape from the everyday. A true gem worth visiting again and again!
- Robin (10/5): Gridley Inn a diamond in the rough. - beautiful king bed with super soft sheets. Breakfast was very good. I would return.
- Lucy (9/5): Nice stay. Would return. - Staff was very kind. Breakfast was good..would return if in the area. Pleasurable B&B. Long winded on their directions for your upcoming stay. They put a lot of restrictions on their welcome page which I didn’t know what to expect.
- David (10/5): - Excellent breakfast. Be prepared to converse with the proprietor and other guests while you eat. Very nice rooms. Waterloo is a great location.
- William (8/5): Would definitely return - Breakfast was delicious, staff was very friendly, house and room were clean and comfortable. Beautiful historic house. I would have liked a TV in the room and parking is a little awkward if you dont know where to go
- Dan (7/5): Good -
- Kenneth (10/5): We stayed at the Gridley after a show at the casino. - Location Not much
- kelly (10/5): - Awesome place to stay
- April (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, and friendly. Host enjoys having guest mingle and chat. Close to hiking and shopping.
- Anne (8/5): If you're looking for a quaint, charming affordable place to stay, this is it. - Loved the charming character of the old house turned b&b. It was clean. Bed was comfy. Owners were accomodating and very helpful with suggestions on things to do (besides wineries). Breakfast was delicious. I truly enjoyed admiring the architecture on my morning walk. TV was in a common area. Would have been nice to have one in the room.
- Simone (8/5): Lovely Old House - The owners were friendly, excellent and creative breakfasts, quiet, clean. Too much movement in bed, toilet area too small, room was warm but with air conditioning more comfortable, steep stairs, not enough shelf space.
- Barbara (10/5): Stay here when visiting the Finger Lakes - One night visit at this Inn while we were traveling through the Finger Lakes. Great location to explore the area. The Inn is tastefully and interestingly decorated with lots of antiques. Each room is different and has its own name. Lots of comfortable sitting rooms plus living room with couches and a pool table. Wonderful creative breakfast.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (9/5): This B&B was a perfect find, and we will recommend it to family and friends who visit the area. - We stayed on the Master bedroom and it was just beautiful and so comfortable. The staff were very friendly and provided two fantastic breakfast experiences. We don’t have anything to add here.
- Ellen (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable! Breakfast was outstanding and a great way to start the day! Would definitely stay again if in the area.
- Carla (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - breakfast both mornings was gourmet and wonderful. served by the plate and conversation all around !!
- Ellen (10/5): why stay in a cookie cutter hotel room when you can enjoy a well appointed b&b? - The Gridley Inn managed all the vintage charm with none of the inconvenience. Everything seemed newly installed/painted/decorated. The breakfast was unexpectedly different.. Dutch Babies! (a fancy variation on pancakes, with apple.) I would totally recommend. nothing.
- Randall (10/5): All we expected and exactly as advertised. - Beautiful house restored into B&B. Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff extremely accommodating. Breakfast excellent with opportunity to socialize. Highly recommend!
- David (10/5): - Beautiful home. Excellent breakfasts. They do not permit eating in the bedrooms, which is okay by me. They have a 2 hour check in time and they are grumpy about people not calling ahead for a late check in - again, okay by me. They really encourage people to socialize at breakfast.
- John (10/5): Wonderful B&B - Wonderful B&B. Small-town location that makes a great jump-off point for exploring the area. Breakfasts were lovely and Steph was a wonderful host. Nice that it’s within walking distance of several restaurants.
- Jenny (9/5): Historical home in the Finger Lakes - The room was cozy and quaint. The bed was comfortable. We also were able to make breakfast requests for food allergies. The staff was lovely. The business is also their home, and it was lovingly cared for with great historical details. The location in Waterloo was also close to Seneca Falls and the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. I would recommend this if staying in the area, especially if you like touches of history and charm in your stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Should provide fresh towels to customer everyday; and
put up non-translucent curtains that maintain privacy and dark for early morning. Great stay overall.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Convenient, under street light parking, chair lift to 2nd floor,
Good breakfast, comfortable bed. Beautiful home and lots of elegance with historical photos. First greetings were not hospitable when we arrived. In the morning, coffee had to be in a cardboard cup if we were not going to drink it in the DR. If we drank it in the DR, we could have a china cup. My mistake, that I chose a bedroom where the shower opened directly into the bedroom.
- Anne j (10/5): - We are a couple traveling through Waterloo to visit the Harriet Tubman home. To our surprise, Waterloo is an historic town, particularly regarding Women’ rights and abolition. The Gridley Inn is located within the blocks of historic Waterloo.
We were totally charmed by this historic home which was built about 1848. It has some original furnishings and on the walls, documents and pictures tell of its first inhabitants who founded a Music School with a theater, much appreciated by my husband, a classical composer. We so enjoyed meeting the owners, who were wonderful hosts,
- Cindy (8/5): - Friendly owner and staff who put a lot of time and attention into this BnB. Near Seneca Falls. Waterloo in nearby but does not have the panache, but staying overnight was great.
- Ronald (10/5): - Really cool house built in 1869.
- Tom (10/5): - Attentive both at check in and breakfast. Room was very nice Would recommend it and would stay there again
- Paul (10/5): Excellent. Great value - Breakfast was excellent!
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional - Such a BEAUTIFUL building!
Breakfast was very tasty. There wasnt anything negative at all.
- Monica (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): This is a great B&B for smaller family gatherings! - The breakfast was wonderful! It was delicious and presentation was lovely! There was nothing that I did not like.
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful, well decorated house with a lot of history and tastefully selected interior. Two great hosts you can really talk with. We stayed two nights and got every morning a different and great homemade breakfast. 10 out of 10.
- Daniel (10/5): I would definitely recommend this place. - The bed was very comfortable. The sheets on the bed were superb. The pillows were awesome…. I wasn’t able to enjoy the breakfast. The timing didn’t work for me.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - From the moment we were greeted by Madison to our goodbyes with Stephanie (after an amazing breakfast), we felt welcomed and very comfortable (the bed was super comfy)! I would highly recommend staying at the Gridley Inn!
- Marcel (10/5): Ten Plus - This is a beautiful heritage home in the town of Waterloo, New York. It is a very short walk to downtown. We arrived early but we were welcomed and able to move to our room. Parking is available. The Statesman room was very comfortable. We also met a young resident artist, Catherine who also works at the Inn. A very comfortable front porch and living room. Breakfast was fresh and home made. The Star Restaurant was recommended and we were very impressed with both the service and our meal.
