Tåget går exakt bredvid hotellet, så ljudet när tågen kommer är öronbedövande men samtidigt lite roligt att se.

- Atharsha (3/5): not worth the money. - The have two different buildings one near the road and other near the ocean and railway track. The garden view rooms are more spacious and better. The staff are really good. they will help u if u need anything while booking please look into the description properly. the rooms they have listed and put pictures are located in two different locations. We didn’t know that the rooms we had booked one garden view and one ocean view are in two different properties, and they gave both ocean view rooms. the one with ocean view is located next to railway track with ocean view and trains will be passing every now and then. And the vibrations are very high. The one which has garden view is close to the road and better. The ocean view property is literally not safe because strangers keep walking through the track and anytime anyone can get into the property. The staffs are helpful. we literally told them we can’t stay in the ocean view rooms because it’s not safe atleast for female travelers ( actually for all travelers i would say). They moved us to the actual rooms which we booked (garden view one). There are not much options for breakfast as well in the nearby restaurants, and Bentota town is 1.5 kms from here.

No tiene aire acondicionado, un ventilador en el techo que suena como un helicóptero. No había agua en el baño. No hagan caso a las fotos porque no tienen nada que ver con la realidad. Lo de ver el océano... se ve pero a lo lejos que no os engañen. No tiene desayuno. La vía del tren está a 10m y el ruido que hace el tren al pasar no deja descansar.
- Isabel (7/5): Quirky - A quirky place tucked away So close to the beach , this is an amazing miles long sandy stunning beach Our room was upstairs and so our balcony wasn’t really a balcony it just looked straight into the dining area which meant we had no privacy. The hotel is literally right next to the train line so the trains pass very fast and loud right in front of the a hotel. We actually really enjoyed this. There aren’t that many , probably approximately three an hour. When there at no trains you can walk straight I’ve the trian track and onto the beach. Not many places in walking distance

- Peter (7/5): Very friendly and helpful staff could not do enough for us - The breakfast consisted of fruit eggs and toast with all the tea we could drink we found it very Sri Lankan The trains passed the hotel and they started at 4 am a bit off putting on the first. couple of days but they became part of the experience staying at the ocean view.
- Robyn (8/5): A beautiful beach location - The staff were very nice & helpful. The location right near the beach & close to shops was excellent. Breakfast was huge & tasty. It was hard to sleep as the noise of the highway was constant. Also itt would have been nice to have a kettle in the room.
- Le (9/5): Charming family hotel - 50 metres from the beach a certain charm &great view. There is a rail line next to it & which is noisy when train comes through but it didn't bother us in fact found it quite charming. Wifi could be better.

- Gemma (8/5): Really lovely property - close to beach and the views of the railway! - We loved the vibe at Ocean View, the property is minutes away from the beach but the railway between you gives a unique feel like you’re half in countryside, half by the ocean. We property is big and spacious and the AC rooms on the first level look very luxurious. We booked a fan room which was ground floor, it suited us fine and it was also spacious. We loved that we got to see the train pass so close to us and also loved how close we were to the beach. The staff were super helpful and lovely! Thank you! Our toilet was a bit broken which was a little bit annoying but didn’t ruin our stay at all. Also you can hear the train quite loudly in the ground floor rooms- we didn’t mind it but it did wake us up a few times in the night.

Facilities very minimum. I went to the beach there was no chair or sun bed in nice condition so I’ve used next doors facilities.
- Annie (9/5): Close to the beach, sea view and trains - The room had all the amenities we needed and was very close to the beach - so much so we went to sleep to the sound of the Indian Ocean. The accommodation was right next to the railway line. Although this wasn't major problem for us some guests may find it offputting.

- Nick (6/5): Good beach - quiet. - A quiet location with a nice, simple en-suite room. Efficient aircon. Beach visible, just, from the balcony. Beach clean and quiet - only a short walk away. Nice staff. Free parking. Good breakfast. The railway is right in front of the hotel and trains run all night. No food in the evenings although there are restaurants nearby (not so cheap though). Price varies a great deal. Remember that a Booking.com rating in Sri Lanka doesn’t resemble what it would mean in Thailand. Costs quite variable depending on your dates. Road access extremely narrow. Only parking for one car really.
- Krempel (10/5): Exceptional - We loved this place. It was our first stop and it was perfect to arrive in Sri Lanka and calm down. It’s a really peaceful place. There’s a loud train in front of the hotel but it’s not very frequently but for us it was really charming. The stuff was super friendly and they organised spontaneously a guided fishing trip with a friend, which was great. Afterword they cooked the fish at the hotel. We would highly recommend the hotel 🙂

No visible signage when arriving from the south but mostly, since when did a hotel charge a 10% service charge?? Bars, restaurants all over Sri Lanka now add 10% as an excuse to push up prices by stealth. But a hotel???

There is only a fan so it is quite warm in the room. It is quit far from the town centre but therefore you habe the beach almost to yourself.

- Rashmi (9/5): We had a wonderful stay at this place :) - Wow the beach at this hotel is superb. Very clean, and stretches for a very long distance into the sea, yet shallow and very even. An added bonus is we did not find any rocks, let alone sharp ones, that dot the sea floor of some beach areas. So there were no scrapes or bruises on our feet after being in the sea. We were given a towel per person. Would have been nice if they were a bit larger or there were two towels per person. But it was alright. Saying would have been better. But on the defense of the owners/operators of the hotel, we did not ask. Also, we normally carry our own water. Some guests might need a bottle of water and two glasses as a bare minimum.

- Aspasia. (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed in Ocean View for a night. I had a great experience thanks to the owner. Even though the sea was rough for swimming (I was there off season), my experience in Bentota was worth it. The owner arranged a boat trip to the mangroves in the near by river and a visit to a turtle sanctuary with logical prices. He is always available to help, easy to reach, friendly young person. The room/ bathroom was very clean. I felt comfortable to stay there. I recommend it 100%.

He also explained some interesting stuff about the area and animals. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace. Lot of male employees that seem to be always wandering around the property , however could never find anyone when wanting something, room very basic. Bed incredibly uncomfortable. Blanket was something you’d get in a prison. It was itchy and left white fluff all over you. only given 1 bar of soap for both shower and hand washing. WiFi was terrible! Don’t book if you’re needing reliable internet. Location not the best for us.
- Nimanthie (9/5): Superb - Ocean View truly exceeded my expectations! The room was quite nice and clean with good furniture. There was hot water and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was kind enough to even set up a workstation in the room for me as I was working from there. Sakun and his staff are very friendly and quite helpful. They provided all the information and tips I needed for my stay as soon as I arrived. The hotel serves only breakfast, I picked the Sri Lankan breakfast and it was a very impressive spread. There are other beach restaurants right next to the hotel to get the other meals and drinks. The staff arranged Tuk Tuks whenever I needed to get to the city, but the main road is close enough to walk up and get the bus too. Remember to take cash because they don't take card payments
- Tracey (8/5): Quirky hidden hotel - Room was large and bed had mosquito net covering it. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. Area classed as balcony outside the room was lovely to sit on and watch the tropical storm we had. Beautiful sandy beach approx 100m from hotel. Yes, had to cross the train tracks to get to the beach, but that's a lovely quirk! The line isn't busy and you do get used to the sound & rumble when trains do pass! Lack of information about the hotel, dining options etc on arrival. It's a very chilled place, but some info would have been nice. The young staff were very helpful but didn't speak much English. The Manager introduced himself to me on my 2nd night as he'd been away on business the previous day. There was also confusion as they don't take card payments, only cash. The Manager took me by tuk tuk to two ATMs (the first one wasn't working) to withdraw cash to pay my bill. Very embarrassing for me! I'd been out the previous day so would have got cash then had I known.
- Oleksandr (9/5): Superb - The beach is amazing! The rooms are in good condition. The train passing by the hotel can piss you off :)
- Karina (9/5): good value for money - near to the ocean, amazing friendly stuff, beautiful terrace and near to the beach. also regarding the complains of the railway, it didn’t bother us too much tbh. the bathroom could’ve been renewed. it was still clean but you can see all the drains were really old.
- Aleksandr (9/5): Superb - Ocean view ). Spacious and clean room. Good hosts. Trains are coming very close from the building, but it is rather an interesting feature.
- Duncan (9/5): Superb - The staff are excellent. Very helpful. The room was large and the bed comfortable. The AC wasn't working but they did supply extra fans and fixed it on day 3

- Daisuke (10/5): we are really appreciate to staff who made our staying here unforgettable. the best beach in Sri-Lanka is just 2 min awa - the best staff ever the only one disadvantage here is railway very near. but it doesn’t make sounds at night
