- Brandy (4/5): - Property is older building. Was not
Made aware on website or booking that they were under construction. Carpets so old and dirty, stained. No elevator and we were booked on 2nd floor with a lot of luggage. Manageable but inconvenient. Couldn’t imagine what an elderly person would have done.Restaurant was great. Food good. Only seemed to be one waitress who served us dinner and then again at breakfast. She could have used some help. Management could do better on that. If there we more
Options in this town. I would haven’t have chose

- Ken (10/5): One night - Clean comfortable room but small. Walls are thin so heard occupants on both sides, tv and talking. But convenient, easy to find with restaurant.
- Silvia (10/5): - Convenient to the ferry to Nova Scotia. Restaurant was hit and miss for dinner and breakfast. Service was slow in the bar area and restaurant.

- Ruth F (6/5): - Noisy and old
- Robert (6/5): - Overall fair and expensive
- Janice (8/5): Couples get away! - Pretty basic, needs some updating, carpets need cleaning, and the bed was put tight against the wall, Hotel is conveniently located to the Marine Atlantic ferry terminal and has a nice restaurant with friendly staff.

- Bev (10/5): - This hotel is the first hotel you see when arriving by ferry. So it has hosted probably thousands of visitors over the years. The carpets may be old, worn and tired. The staircase creaks, but the reception staff are the most welcoming, friendly and organized ladies I have come across on our 3 week trip to the Maritimes. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The food is fresh tasty comfort food. And all the servers go out of their way to make you feel at home. Happy and friendly, especially April who helped out on my birthday surprise, thank you!! Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and I highly recommend!
- James (6/5): - The towels are quite thin, small and not absorbent.

- Melanie (6/5): - Staff at the front desk were very friendly.
- Terry (10/5): - This hotel is the best in Port Aux Basques. It is older but very well maintained, and staffed with extremely polite, hardworking staff. The restaurant has very good food, and they provide huge portions. I stayed here last year en route to fish Atlantic salmon, and will stay here every time that I travel to Newfoundland. A great place to stay, 5 minutes from the ferry. Couldn’t be more convenient.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Restful Night on the Rock. - Older hotel requiring some upgrades but room was very clean and comfortable. Great place to stay before taking the ferry to the mainland. Restaurant offered a great selection at competitive prices. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Angie (10/5): - Short one night stay.
- Jamie (6/5): - Thin walls
- Peter (10/5): - Clean rooms and good food.

- Heather (4/5): - There aren’t a lot of options in the area and I imagine most people are just overnighting for the ferry but the building is old, noisy and cramped.

- Richard (6/5): - The staff was good , the property needs upgrades Two storey hotel with no elevator and many seniors are checking in no one to help with luggage
Very convenient to the port
- Gordon (6/5): - Easy access. Dining room small for the size of the hotel.
- Kathy (10/5): - Great location for the ferry. Room was cozy and had everything we needed. Will definitely recommend.
- Sherry (8/5): - Ideal place to stay if you're catching an early morning ferry.
- Cynthia (10/5): Will return - Lovely friendly people
- Jean (6/5): - Clean but aged building.
Noise insolation is poor (aged building)
- Gerald (6/5): - We liked the bed was comfortable, clean room. We didn’t like the internet never worked the whole stay. Didn’t like hearing people talk next door and some loud machine. Also the Manager was confrontational when I complained of having no internet. Asked if I told anyone I did phone front desk and they said because they had a crowd and only 3 routers, the manager asked why she wasn’t contacted. She never said sorry to hear that or sorry for your inconvenience. She definitely has no Human Resources training and I personally felt she wanted a confrontation. We have stayed 10 times there in the past 5 years, bought our meals and paid 15% tip, also bought gifts for our grandkids and foster kids. It was the most expensive out of all the hotels from Ontario with no free breakfast. Our estimate is we have spent up to $2,500 at the hotel. I think the Manager has 0 personal skills.
- Stephan (10/5): - It is so close and convenient to the ferry
- Valerie (10/5): - Comfy with bathtub and large refrigerator and microwave. Close to covenience stores and bus station.

- Donald (8/5): - Hotel is minutes from the ferry landing. Room was clean. The interior was very dated and needs a refresh. Walls were paper thin, was slightly noisy. It’s one of only 2 hotels in town so not many options.
- Stephan (10/5): - We just checked in a couple hours ago. I really wish you would ask for a review after I check out. I can do a better job after my whole experience at the hotel is over.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was friendly. The hotel is older and could use an update. Overall the room itself was clean

- Pamela (8/5): - The front desk staff was amazing! Friendly, accommodating...very helpful with our older family member.
- CarolynAnn (2/5): - NOT PET FRIENDLY> ARRIVED IN PORT AUX BASQUES AND WAS REFUSED ACCOMODATIONS>HAD TO DRIVE @ MORE HOURS IN THE DARK TO FIND ANOTHER MOTEL
- Rod (10/5): - The young lady that was our server for dinner was the best I have encountered in the thousands of restaurants over my life time.
Always smiling and courteous even when dealing with an unruly diner and the confusion of the dinner hour rush. Best service overall from any hotel I have ever stayed in. Thank you for making my stay the most enjoyable ever. Fantastic job to all involved.
- Ruth (8/5): Busy hotel for ferry riders. - We just needed a place to stay before taking the ferry to NS. This place wasn't fancy, but met our needs.
- Linda (8/5): - Very friendly staff, comfortable bed, working wifi and tv, easy access to hwy, gas and ferry. Great location if travelling by ferry to or from Newfoundland. The hotel is older and could definitely use a refresh but the good option for an overnight stay.
- Darrin (10/5): - Great place to stay before catching the ferry in the morning.
- Nancy (6/5): - The foyer is welcoming and that’s about it. Small uncomfortable room with noisy air system. The morning staff person was grouchy - an unpleasant way to start my day and the lasting impression. No lift to second floor. Would not stay again

- Shawn (8/5): Good place to stay - Great spot for a quick night stay over to catch the ferry. Food was good, rooms were clean.
- Lynn (10/5): Nice - Room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly.
- Guylaine (10/5): - Très pratique, à 5 minutes du ferry. Lit super confortable, restaurant très bien et abordable. Petit bar sympa à l’hôtel
- Tom (6/5): - A decent place with friendly staff, though the room was very small and the walls were very thin.
- Julie (10/5): - beautiful view from our room excellent service friendly
- Judy (10/5): - Staff were very on prompt , impressing prompt. Asked for towels got them right away. No waiting around. They met our needs always, The only way to improve is hire more staff for food service.
- FARHAT (6/5): - It’s an ordinary hotel with ordinary amenities although we did not expect more here.
The receptionist made a gross mistake by charging my credit card twice.
Thus I got stuck with that amount of money to be returned back to my credit card account by 5-7 business days and my credit limit will restrict me for further use of card until this money returns to my account.
The receptionist should be more careful and vigilant about this type of transaction.
- Tammy (10/5): - This was perfect!
- Jacqueline (4/5): - Very tired property, needs a refresh. Our room was very basic and not much space. Bathroom was nice and seemed to be upgraded but the room smelled musty. The AC was quite loud but we kept it on since it was stuffy. In the morning, the fire alarm went off at 730 am so everyone had to evacuate. Got back in about 20 minutes later so big deal for us but lots of families were there with little kids in their PJs. We didn't expect a 4 star hotel by any means but for almost $200 for the night, not good value for money.
- Stacey (8/5): - Front desk staff were fabulous. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. On-site restaurant was great. Only negatives: A/C was noisy and room a little musty smelling.
