Guest Reviews
- Jason (8/5): - Very comfortable bed, easy instructions for entry, and overall a good stay for passing through. No bath towel in the bathroom. Window A/C unit battle with central heating to cool the room. Would have been nice to have a chair, and the blinds definitely need replaced.
- Charles (8/5): - No desk or place to do work. Wound up working on the bed with my laptop. No other counters really to keep things UP off the floor. Furniture was old. Trim on the lamp was literally hanging off it. Had to kill a few large flying bugs, and it looks like there might have been some remains of bugs along the back wall behind the bed and bedstand.
Air conditioning worked great. Towels were NEW and FLUFFY. WIFI was FAST & SOLID. Bed felt fresh, new bedsheets, etc. TV was good.
Bathroom did NOT have a bathmat, and the skimpy 'shampoo' packets were silly. (At least have two of them per day per person.).
The one main outlet looked 'fried' and it wouldn't 'hold' anything plugged into it. I wound up having to pull back the nightstand and plug laptop and chargers into that and the one in the bathroom.
Ample easy parking, but not protected. Elevator was great to have.
I would stay there again, but the room needs to be updated and BOTH blinds fixed (they were literally broken, very shabby.)
- Asha (8/5): - We have a very short but nice stay when we were in town visiting our son at college in Worcester. We arrived late and did not interact with any staff, but they had sent directions to get the room key and we had no problems upon arrival. Our only minor complaint was with the condition of the bathroom, which could use some attention. The sink doesn’t drain well because the stopper is broken so it is always closed, and there is a leak in the pipe to the shower head so water sprays out on to the wall next to the shower. Other than that it is a charming place to stay.
- Joseph (10/5): - Old school inn ,very safe parking and area
- Brian (10/5): - The room was clean and nice, the bathroom was stocked, the parking was a little complicated to find based on the gps directions but i can't fault the establishment for that.
- Samantha (8/5): - The parking was dim and poorly lit. The entrance was difficult to
- Israel (10/5): - This was a really cute little stay , located right in the center or town
- timothy (6/5): - Bar and restaurant area under construction.room was ok,were told by everyone in town it was haunted
Its for sale
- John (6/5): Spooky but pleasant - The building itself is a large, and almost spooky place. On the ground floor there is a barbershop and a restaurant, both closed, it appears that the restaurant is under construction and there was quite a bit of construction related debris inside when I looked in at the window. My room was a rickety elevator ride up to the top floor of the three story structure, followed by a walk down adark and dimly little hall.
However, the room itself was quite nice. I had two very comfortable beds (only touched one) plenty of space, three or four windows, and a very nice, if small, little bathroom. It was clean, cozy, there was even a fireplace — although there was no indication if it worked and no fuel even if it did.
Open the restaurant, put some more lighting in the halls, spruce the place up a bit and you’d have a very nice place
- Ryan (8/5): - The downstairs area was mostly closed and the owners didn’t really interact with me outside of when I first arrived there, but the upstairs hallway area had this David Lynch/Silent Hill vibe to it. It was creepy in a good way, I really liked it. Even my bedroom was like that, though not as much as the hallway.
My only complaints were the lack of toothpaste and shampoo in my bathroom, but other than that, I would love to come back here a 2nd time should I ever get the opportunity to do so.
- Ellen (6/5): Run down - Got a very nice email from someone who had take an extra steps to connect with me, good check-in instructions. When we got there, we found an open outside door with nobody in sight. No front desk, closed restaurant. Lockbox was placed so high that if my husband weren't with me I would not have been able to access it. Place generally had a deserted feel. It needed quite a bit of fixing up, cracked plaster, banged up old wooden furniture. The room was clean but didn't have outlets accessible to both sides of the bed , and only one bedside lamp. Two small hand towels for shower. Thermostat to control AC unit didn't work because it needed a new battery. AC unit did work manually, though, which was good because the window didn't open. Generally the feeling was that it was run down. But the price was appropriate!
- Shelly (2/5): - They are not open. When we got there there was no one there.
- Akbar (2/5): - Staff never responded to messages
- Tara (6/5): - The Grafton Common area was really sweet… We enjoyed walking around and visiting the antique shop around the corner. The checkin was easy… when we found that our key wasn’t where they said it would be, we call the number provided and they quickly rectified the situation. The hotel is needs a lot of love. everything is worn down. the entrance way has steel restaurant shelves cluttering the area. the elevator smells wet, the ceiling in the room is stained with water leaks, the wood work is dirty and chipped, the bathroom has mold growing on the ceiling and the finish on vanity and mirror are peeling off. It was inexpensive for a reason.
- Azamat (4/5): - Hotel smells badly and very old. Taps sre broken. No hairdryer. But wifi is good.
- Patricia (2/5): NEVER Again!! - In the past, I’ve chosen property due to its location and an adequate night’s stay. The Inn is rundown, has no staff and a “HANDS OFF” management. My recent stay was my LAST one!!! My rm (#6) bathroom had NOT been cleaned AND old shower slider door broken - fell due to being.completely off the track. An extremely unsafe situation! After reporting my concerns to manager, it took over 24hrs for a response which is totally unacceptable!!! This place needs NEW owners who are invested in updating as well as operating this Historic Inn.
- Laurie (2/5): Unatended Air B&B, Mold! - The key for my room was not there. The drain didnt work in the bathroom sink. It was fixed for me same night but after 9:30pm! The windows werent even weather stripped and the window A/C wasnt even futted correctly into the window and the room was actually open to the outside in the gaps. Traffic on the street below sounded like it was driving through the room. The room faced the town common, which was a very pretty view but it was so noisy, and the church bells on the hour were so loud. There was dripping water inside the room from condensation on the A/C. When that was found, mold was also found in the carpet at the baseboard where the water was dripping and at that point mold was also found all over the A/C unit. It was inside the vents, outside the vents and on the unit itself. There was a very ild fireplace wich made the room rustic, but it was not functional. The bed was very comfortable and i slept well until I started having allergy symptoms due to mold.
- Curtis (8/5): - room was under renovation. It is rustic and has older furniture. The bathroom needs alot of updates. The vanity faucet leaks bad, the sliding door for the shower does not slide open. The lady guest had to exit the shower behind the toilet, which is a huge safety issue. The toilet seat needs replacing.
- Teresa (8/5): - Although there wasno staff on site, check in information was provided by text and easy to follow.
- Doug (8/5): - Loved the bed wished it had microwave
- Greg (8/5): - This is a very interesting place to stay. The inn was built in 1805, according to Wikipedia. There are seven rooms on the third floor. The second floor is vacant, and the only thing on the first floor is a barbershop. That was convenient, I booked a needed shave with Erica down there. It’s a separate business, but I was pleased with the service, and Erica was very friendly.
I did not see any hotel staff, the only interaction was thorough check-in instructions via text when I booked. There is coffee available in the hallway. The grill has been shut down for two years, from what I gather. I chose to get iced coffee from the Uncommon Cow, a little over minute walk to the north. They have excellent iced coffee, and also had breakfast sandwiches and baked goods ready to go, which I did not try. Overall, wouldn’t here again. I wouldn’t book a romantic getaway.
- paul (2/5): Disgrace - Arrived mid afternoon and front door, and side door, were locked. Back door was open but the place was in the middle of being redone. It was a construction site. No one was around. Walked upstairs to find one floor that seemed like it may have been open. Approx 10 rooms but I had never received any instructions for my arrival so we had no idea what to do. Called the number the site had posted, and it was out of service. Found a note with a name and number to contact and it was also out of service. While searching for humans, another couple arrived and were doing the same. They also booked on hotels. Whenever renovations are complete, it may be ok, but now it is a bad joke. From no employees, open construction site, and fire extinguishers that were outdated by 3 years ! It’s not only a disgrace it was listed for use, it was also a fire hazard and should be condemned. In the middle of fighting to get my money back. I did get a welcome check in text with instructions BUT at 5:30pm ! Totally messed up our plans and on a Saturday of graduation weekend, scrambling to find a place last minute was not only difficult, it was very expensive and totally out of our way. I have never experienced anything like what we did and hope never will again. Hotels should be ashamed to even have this hotel posted !
- Scott (6/5): - We needed a quick room and the price was attractive. I appreciated the text from the property for check in. Easy to get the room key. The stairs and hallway were musty and dated. The room was a clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable, Had to open the windows because very hot on the top floor. The streets were loud and noisy which was kind of surprise. I knew the area but it appeared more desolate than I remembered. Of note the outer door is open and the rooms are accessible to anyone. All of the keys are available in the one lock box. The property was as expected. There is no staff at the property.
- CHARLES (2/5): - There is no front desk. There is no security. The exterior door that leads to the rooms is open all night and there is nothing to stop an intruder other than the door to the room itself. No one picks up the phone at the published phone number. If you have a problem, there's no one to speak to. Stay away from this place.
- Conn (10/5): - Perfect for my one night stay. Did not get to explore Grafton. Note that as of May 2025, the Grille is under construction and not open.
- Vanessa (6/5): - Restaurant under construction, hotel itself was "tired"
- danielle (2/5): - We arrived before the 10pm time and no one was on property which I heard was common. Also the building is basically a back door that has an elevator that goes up. The downstairs is all under construction vs. abandoned.
Another group did not get the same text we had about how to get a key and couldn’t contact management about how to get a key.
We went up to our room, it was very stuffy so difficulty breathing. After an hour we left because I couldn’t breathe and the front door doesn’t lock so anyone can come off the street and there were actually 4 kids running in the hall looking for a bathroom. Anyone can enter from outside at any time. Also if you know the trick to get a key… anyone can get any key at any time.
I texted them to say we were leaving and why. Haven’t received a response. I would NOT recommend. It seems like they are trying to be something that could be quirky, cool if more was done but comes off as unsettling and safety also a concern.
- Paul (2/5): - Is this place even open? No one and no desk. Phone number doesn't work.
- Robert (4/5): - I don’t usually do negative reviews but with this property having a 7.8 out of 10 rating I really feel I need to do this. First, when we arrived it was 78° outside 84 in our room and the air-conditioning did not work then I discovered That we only had one towel and one hand towel. I texted whoever was in charge asking for more towels and they didn’t even respond there was black mold in the shower stall ceiling. The place was generally not clean and beat up. It is on a busy street that was noisy, has train tracks right outside, and a church across the street that rings its bell every hour. They had a coffee station, but no creamer.
- Denise (10/5): - The Grafton Inn is a quiet, no-fills, self- serve place to stay. For us , it’s a perfect dog friendly kinda funky respite while we visit family in the area. There’s even a little hiking path across the street behind the library.
- Dana (8/5): - It was very cool staying in such a historic building! That plus the price and convenience made us not mind the under-construction feel. We wanted a comfortable place to spend a night that wouldn’t break the bank, and it delivered. Had we wanted a 5-star experience, we would have stayed somewhere else.
- Christina (6/5): - Property was quiet and nice area but the tv wasnt working and room was very cold
- Paul (4/5): - This property has so much potential if the owner(s) would just put some money into it. Refurbish and paint the rooms, fix the air and the plumbing, invest in some furniture. This building has so much history it should be exploited. And finish the restaurant, it would be a gold mine.
- Rosanna (2/5): No sleep - NOT RECOMMENDED. The local bell tower next to the inn goes off every hour all night long. Do not expect to sleep. It is also not staffed and the building looks abandoned. The rooms are on the 3rd floor. No check in instructions were sent. I had to call the inn and got someone to tell me where to find the lock box. Very creepy for a solo traveler. No info inside the room & it seemed as no one else was checked in. At least there was heat & a comfy bed. Definitely not worth the price.
- Ted (2/5): - Beautiful historic village. Interesting historic house. Misleading description as the Grille & Tap section was not only closed but we faced the demolition, piled about, through the glass door to the Grille, as we entered the Inn. The room was clean, bedding, towels but there was no soap, and no response to the messages to the property owners via Expedia. There was a closet but no hangers, there was no chair. What was very physically excrutiating, was that the heat in the room was up to 84 degrees and the thermostat was ineffective. There was no person on the premisis that we were made aware of, that represented the Inn. Basically there was no service, no changing of bedding or towels etc on a daily basis. I have experienced more service and positive attention from some shady last-chance motels. Shame, since the town, the structure itself has such a place in antiquity. Seems unfair to advertise and charge if the owners were not attending to the guests and property, and upfront about the true condition of the Inn. Lovely town, great historic site so I hope that the current conditions change, but unfortunately I was a classic victim of false advertising and very uncomfortable living conditions. I suggest conditions are verified before you book, but after this dismal experience, Saturday March 22-24, 2025, I cannot recommend Hunters Grille and Tap at The Grafton Inn
- Janelle (10/5): - Our stay was perfect. This is an old inn with an old feel. Some things arent brand new, but every thing was well cared for, and very clean. Check in/out was easy. The place was peaceful and very comfortable. I would stay again.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Cute place to stay - The room was clean and quaint. It was really hot, but i just slept with the windows open and vents closed. My only issue which has nothing to do with the Inn itself..is the church bells that go off to mark the hour are loud. Obviously, this is not the inns issue.
- Irene (10/5): - It's very cozy. Interesting how you check in. No hassle directions was simply and accurate. Will stay here again and tell others.
- Timothy (10/5): - Just what I needed, comfort quite and convenient.
- Catherine (8/5): - The manager was very nice and immediately responded to our questions and calls. When we arrived, the temperature in the room was 56 degrees. The last night we were there, the room contained a lot of cigarette smoke, that seemed to come from the heat duct. we left the door open and turned off the heat to help clear the air. The storm windows were partly open, so that when it was cold/windy, there was a draft in the room from the windows. We liked the location and the room itself, and appreciated having small refrig. which was not expected. Hopefully when the remodeling downstairs is complete, more attention can be paid to the sleeping rooms. We hope to stay here again when we visit my daughter.
- Dorothy (8/5): - Check in was very easy. The location is great! Never saw anyone the entire time there. The only minor suggestion is a tv channel guide. Also, having the front door unlocked all night made me a little nervous.
- Christina (10/5): - This was a wonderful establishment! Historic, quiet, and full of memories of the past! 10/10 will visit again. This place puts Grafton on the map!
- allan (8/5): - The hotel staff were nice and very polite the only upset I had was no bar and grill to eat at as they were closed for renovations and we did not know until we arrived. other than that I would definitely go back again .
- Timothy (10/5): The Inn Spot! - Couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was exactly what I was looking for. Super quiet, ultra clean and safe. I would highly recommend this spot especially for those who are looking for something low key and oh by the way there is a library directly across the street. Look forward to a return visit. Tim H
- Sharon (4/5): - Nowhere there to check in, I had to ring the manager who pointed me to a lock box outside with the key to my room in it. I got to my room and someone had obviously been sitting in the bed as one side of the pillows was all flat and scrunched 😞. Shame as it’s a lovely building and was very clean just run down.
- Robert (4/5): - No staff, no AC, no restaurant and leaky faucet.
Disappointed since I have stayed here before and it was better.
- Mark (8/5): - 7 rooms on 3rd floor of old buiding but easy parking, shops etc. Used as base to drive to Boston. BUT key lockbox did not work when arrived at 7 pm. No staff at anytime but luckily found a guy who gave me a spare key. Lifts dont work.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotels.com needs to mention when major amenities are not being offered at a property. There was a restaurant advertised, but it is not there. I have seen this before and it is becoming a problem.
For the shape the room was in, the price was a bit high and there were no amenities to speak of. I think it could be a nice place if the rooms were tended to, and if there are no amenities, the price should be about half of what it was.
- Cindy (2/5): - I only chose this property for convenience. We were not given the room that I paid for and was given 2 separate rooms so I was separated from my family. Elevator not working, had to walk 3 flights of stairs with elderly and suitcases. Restaurant under renovation, as well that is not mentioned on the listing. My bedroom window was left open therefore my room was filled with stink bugs all over the curtains and climbing the walls. We were then given a different room. No staff on site but Michael was wonderful to give us a new room and apologized for the mix up and the bugs. I was refunded the room which I was grateful for but unfortunately will not return to this property.
- Sally (8/5): - Floor uneven
- Li (8/5): - Michael was so helpful and kind when we checked in. Stairs and the carpet, on the way to the room, needed to be vacuumed. The room and bathroom were clean. There was a strong smell of marijuana in the hallway.
- Andrew (2/5): Grafton Inn and Taproom - This place should be closed down. It is verging on derelict. It needs some serious refurbishment before it is used as a hotel. The corridors are smelly with dirty carpets and stained ceilings. The bedrooms are large but grim. We stayed for one night but considered sleeping in the car! The restaurant had long closed down.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible experience and no elevator as you listed. - It says that there is an elevator. It was on the third floor. It was difficult to walk up the stairs due to history of low back injury. I took a photograph that was posted on the elevator saying that is not operational and dange. I request the you refund the fees and credit my credit account soon. I will send a photo of the Warning on the door of the elevator by authorities in Massachusetts. Also I like to add that the smell of insecticide or other form of chemical was extremely bad in the room. I did not sleep all night and had continues headache. I am going to report this to the health authorities in Massachusetts. Please refund what I paid immediately.
- Tricia (4/5): - Really awful. Dingy. Sooo dark. Only two small lamps. Smelled.
- Barney (4/5): - Quaint, historic building in a quaint, historic area.
Disappointed to see that the restaurant/ bar was closed due to a poor decision to convert it from a tavern style pub to a shushi restaurant and got halfway thru the renovation and either ran out of money or realized it was a bad idea. It was a classy meeting spot for locals and travelers alike. The room (number 8) was a large corner room overlooking an historic obelisk monument seeing heavy traffic 'til 2 AM. The bed was a delightfully firm queen and quite comfortable. The bathroom is small with little counter space, the '70s toilet hardly flushed, the wall-mounted hair dryer blew less than a baby's breath and smelled like burnt hair and the sink's hot and cold supply lines were backwards. Would we go back again? Only if the tavern/pub was re-established. Seems like a missed opportunity for a goldmine investment.
- Linda (8/5): - Property under total renovation, which we did not know. Have stayed here many times and were looking forward to dinner, but everything shut down for renovation. Hopefully they will also renovate the rooms to.
- Camilla (2/5): - The property was closed and shuttered. There was a note attached to a door in the rear of the building with the phone number to call for a lock box code that would give you entrance to the building, where you could select your room key. In addition to its' shabby appearance as a closed construction site, I felt that it was an unsafe place to stay. I spoke with the manager who said that he was sorry and hoped to complete some renovations soon. Now is not the time to stay there.
- William (8/5): - The inn is very quaint and charming. There were modern amenities like TV, Wifi, and games, which was nice; and, the room was very spacious. While part of the charm is the historical atmosphere - and as an older building you come to expect some wear and tear - the drain in the sink and shower were really slow and the available outlets were too loose to allow us to charge our devices. But all in all, a very nice place to stay in a scenic area!
- Shelly Ann (8/5): - The property was clean and everything needed was in the room. It was also not updated in terms of fixtures and finishes, but for what was needed for the stay was fine. There wasn't a front desk, but the instructions for check-in were good and there was both an email message and phone call to make sure the instructions were clear. As part of a building with other businesses, it didn't have the safety measures other places might, which was something to consider if traveling solo.
- Erika (4/5): - There's a difference between "shabby chic" and just shabby. The room itself was pleasant, the mattress tolerable, and the towels very nice. But the caulking for the shower door had black mold, and the shower door CAME OFF IN MY HAND when I tried to slide it shut. Easily put back on, true, but c'mon...
And the toilet seat looked like it was from the 50's. These are very low-cost fixes. A little elbow-grease and a trip to Ace Hardware. One more lamp wouldn't hurt, too. I had to use my phone's flashlight to read!
- Sharon (8/5): - Very quaint and unique property. Enjoyed our stay
- Francisco (8/5): - There are some remodeling work at the hotel, so no check in desk at all. Have to call by phone and they give you the code for key-lock where you can get the key for the room.
The room was simple but clean and comfortable.
- Robert (6/5): 3rd floor Grafton room - Mattress was so-so. Shower was okay. Needs better lighting. Bathroom needs some improvements.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Sketchy! Getting run down. Restaurant hasn’t been operating in a long time.
- Herbert W Litts (4/5): - Room was represented better than it was. No one at site to check in or present at any time. Overpriced for what was given.
- Janet (2/5): - The property is not safe. There is no one on the property to greet you or to tell about problems. The front door is always unlocked so anyone from outside could enter and use the elevatòr getting off at 3rd floor where rooms are.
- Matthew (10/5): - We love staying in this quaint, dog friendly inn when we’re in New England.
- YAFEI (6/5): - AC is too loud
- Craig (6/5): - Historic property in town square
- Terrygrim3 (8/5): Not for everyone, but worked for us - We wanted to visit Southwick's Zoo and Purgatory Chasm, and rather than make a day trip, inclined toward an overnight. The Grafton Inn looked intriguing, but based on the warnings in some of the reviews, I took the unusual step of an inspection. There is no front desk (everything is handled by a combination of Expedia and Charlie's cell phone), but housekeeping let me take a look, and the AC was strong, the rooms were very clean, and the place called to me, so I booked through Expedia, and we were in.
It is clearly a work in progress, and there are NO amenities (pod coffee in the hallway; free parking, but literally nothing else). Rooms are on the 3rd floor, but the elevator is fine. MAJOR renovations appear to be taking place, but from the reviews, renovation has been going on for a while, and won't be completed any time soon, so there currently is no Hunters Grille and Tap, much to the chagrin of many.
We were not bothered by renovation noise, and even though the rooms overlook a busy road (Rte 140 curls around Grafton Inn at Grafton Common), the windows were soundproofed enough that the always-on AC took care of the rest of the traffic noise. Church bells cited in other reviews were not rung during our stay.
Bed was WAY too soft, but very clean and otherwise comfortable. Bathroom fine, and good wireless and TV.
I used to stay in an historic hotel in downtown SLC for $80/night including a nice breakfast. Now a Hilton after a brief stint as a Choice hotel, rooms can be 3-5X that price, with no breakfast. If they ever get around to finishing renovations, I can see myself looking back and being happy to have been there when I could afford it, as it has great petential.
- Ann (8/5): - Lovely old building. Our room was great.
- Ann (8/5): - Lovely old building
- WILLIAM (6/5): - Interesting property in a beautiful by very busy location in the center of Grafton. Very handy for our excursions to Purgatory Chasm and Southwick's Zoo. Almost no amenities, but clean and surprisingly quiet. Good coffee pods; wireless.
- Anita (2/5): - It was so bad I did not stay there and had to search at 10:00 pm for another place to stay. I am 73 years old and it was not a good experience.
- James (6/5): - Staff was very professional
- chris (10/5): - Historic, clean room
- Doctor (8/5): - The Grafton Inn is currently under renovations and new management, so it feels like a bit of a transitional space: the restaurant and barbershop are closed, and there is no desk staff. But the owners were extremely proactive about reaching out by text message, the room was lovely and in excellent shape, and you really can't beat the location. We're looking forward to seeing how it looks when they're done with all the changes.
- David (6/5): - Was tricked the rating. Hunters has no grill or tap room just an area visible that has been torn apart and will not be functional any time soon. The rooms are scantily furnished with mismatched items. The road noise can be quite loud. However the bed was comfortable.
- Charles (6/5): - Great NEW ENGLAND town with beautiful common
Passable lodging to stay in great area ,
Not for people who like luxury
But I'd stay again
- Kathryn (10/5): - The Grafton Inn was perfect for our moms' getaway trip! It's part of a quirky old building - and the grille was unavailable, remodeling, I think - but our room was very fresh and comfortable and much more spacious than we expected. Perfectly clean, easy to access (elevator), and as described. Thanks for a lovely stay!
- Gregory (2/5): NEVER AGAIN - We may have black lung after this stay. Inn Smelled awful of mildew. DIRTY and gross. Not one person on site, it was a key drop box like a realtor who have access to. Got a text with instructions. We Would have left but had no where else to go at 8pm and there was no staff anywhere to get help. Should be delisted from all hotel sites!
- Verified traveler (8/5): A little out of the way but lots of character. - Very quaint inn with lots of charm a little off the beaten path. It definitely shows it's age in both good and bad ways, but we had plenty of room, it was quiet, and there are car chargers across the street at the library.
Biggest downside is the resturant is being renovated so no chance to eat breakfast or dinner.
- Merle (6/5): - Property was clean but picture on Expedia and real life totally different. No chair or trash can in the room. Also the tavern was closed ror remodeling.
- Robert (8/5): - An attractive old building on a beautiful village green. The rooms are attractive and pretty basic, but have a TV, small fridge and private bath. The bed is nice and comfortable. I like the old traditional furniture and light fixtures. My one minor issue is that the bathroom sink faucet needs service, like new washers because it leaks a lot when you turn the water on. I have made a couple of one night stays for early business meetings so I haven’t gotten to know Grafton but it seems like a nice place to stay. There are nice restaurants and coffee/ice cream shops nearby.
- Guillaume (8/5): - We acknowledge the fast and easy communication with the manager but we did not appreciated that the check in was via a lock box and the fact that there were no reception or staff present at our arrival. We understand it was due to the fact that the restaurant is undergoing renovations.
The room was not as expected but it was clean.
- MAGGIE (10/5): - Quintessential New England town center with green in the middle, this classic inn, and several old churches. Comfy beds in clean rooms. Wallabies to coffee place with breakfast and lunch options, a great antique shop, and a deli as well as a cute general store and a street with beautiful historic homes.
- Heather (10/5): - I have always had a great experience staying here! Thanks so much!
- Dana (8/5): - The old building is just darling
- Denise (10/5): - The Grafton Inn is a simple place with basic accommodations.
- Denise (10/5): - The Grafton Inn is quiet and comfortable. The staff is especially accommodating. It’s a simple, peaceful place.
- juanita (8/5): - This is a lovely historic building in a clearly historic neighborhood. It was very convenient for our sightseeing visit! I'm very thankful bar/tavern was closed for renovations, so it was completely quiet. I had a little difficulty finding the lockbox, but when I finally saw it, it was SO OBVIOUS. However, it was mounted so high on the wall I had trouble reading the numbers. Thank goodness for cell phones with flashlights!
- Brian (6/5): - Key was not available at time of check in. No washcloths.
- Diana (10/5): - This is a very convenient place to sleep and rest in. Nothing fancy, but excellent location close to commuter railway into Boston. Parking is 4$ at the train station for all day parking and you have to download the app to pay. The train tickets can be purchased through either the app or on board the train with either cash or card 😉 . This is absolutely THE best way to get to Boston without the traffic headaches.
- Peter (8/5): - Historical, convenient.
- Nancy (10/5): - Overall we found the room was clean but there were signs of grey (mold) on the ceiling bathroom over the shower which was quite gross. Also, there were no face cloths provided with the linen. Lastly, windows were very dirty and one window had a broken slat in the blind.
- Jessica (10/5): - Was very clean and beautiful views
- Lorrie (10/5): - We liked the uniqueness and convenience of the property. The staff was responsive. Check in was so easy. Loved it. I can't wait for the renovations in the grille. That would have been awesome to eat at the historic location too.
- Robert A (6/5): - Remodeling now. Give it time
- Michelle (8/5): - Great little Inn, very quiet and safe. Large spacious rooms.
The Inn is in dire need of a renovation, but was very comfortable.
- Xiu (4/5): OK place to stay 1-2 nights - It’s an old rundown building under renovation. Lighting outside is not good so it is not easy to find at evenings. When you just walk in, it smells. Floor makes noise when walking. However, room is clean enough. Bath room is small but looks like recently renovated. No reception desk but owner/manager responds quick with call or texting. Overall, it’s OK place if you just need a place to stay.
