Guest Reviews
- Abram (8/5): - Property was neat, clean and provided all the amenities needed as a camper, a good campsite.
As a cabin guest however, needs improvement, you need to be very clear what the individual cabins themselves include, more photos of individual cabins so people can see amenities like washrooms, if the cabin itself does not include a washroom, then do not post a picture of one.
Cabins could use easier access for disabled guests and roof ventilation would be nice to clear condensation.
- Kevin (10/5): - I'm on a motorcycle trip and the weather forecast wasn't great so I didn't feel like tenting. The price was reasonable and my cottage was clean, warm and comfortable. I somehow missed that there aren't bathrooms in the cabins, but the common washroom facilities were clean. I'd stay again.
- Tannis (10/5): - Property was clean ,quiet and very nice had everything you could need loved it would go back !
- Dave (10/5): - Very friendly owner's, quiet spot and allowed dogs
- Nathaniel (10/5): Great campsite - Very friendly and helpful. Hot showers. Clean campsite. Worth the money to stay here.
- Erika (8/5): - We love staying at the Cabins here, they are quaint and cozy and it's a beautiful place to stop along one's trip to/from Alberta/BC. The owners are very friendly.
- Jovannoff (10/5): - Todo bien para los extranjeros mexicanos
- Richard (8/5): - The owners are very friendly and accommodating.
- Pamela (8/5): - Clean, cute, cosy cabin! Hosts were very nice and beautiful surroundings. Nice walk down to the lake.
- Rachel (10/5): - The facilities and caretakers are really lovely. This is a camp ground, yet you have everything accessible right there. I stayed in a cabin, and although the bed was hard, the linens were clean, and the little heater helped keep me warm when the night temps dropped significantly. The town has limited eating options, so make sure you bring your food! It was nice having firewood available, and my own little fire ring. I look forward to coming back and staying for longer!
- Shereena (10/5): - Best hot shower 👍
- Debbie L (10/5): - So cute and cozy. Also very clean.
- Chris (8/5): - The bed was really comfortable. The only thing wasn't good was having the power go out for the whole night.
- Barbara (10/5): - It’s a very clean and friendly place.
- Tara (10/5): - We loved our family cabin. Perfect stay.
- julie (10/5): - The owners of this property were amazing courteous, thoughtful and friendly. We stayed in glamping and the beds were comfortable, a fridge, freezer, fan and porch chairs added our experience. Though the camping site has been around for many years the owner are keeping up with upkeep. The full kitchen and wash area is wonderful for those travelling without a trailer. Great experience we will be back.
- Dailyn (8/5): - Had great facilities for washing your dishes, showering and bathroom. The cabin was surprisingly spacious and felt more like a mini hotel room than a shack in the forest. Will definitely consider this place in the future.
- Doug (10/5): - A great stop. Nice people.
- Cori (10/5): - Super convenient. Friendly & helpful porprietors
- Laurence (10/5): We’d stay here again. - Very pleasant little cabin. Owner/operators were very friendly and helpful. Was a very hot day, but cooled significantly later in the evening.
- John (8/5): - The communal out door kitchen, had every thing that you need if you never brought your own.
- jeet (8/5): - It is very nice place
- Robin (10/5): - A hidden gem... I'll be back.
- Julie (10/5): - The Cabin we rented was super cute! Perfect for what we needed.. no washrooms, however we were close to the washrooms/showers-which were also very clean..
There’s an outdoor kitchen so you can cook food and a cleaning station.
The Owners are fantastic! Have done a great job in making it functionable and enjoyable stay..
I would definately recommend stopping there and would definately stay there again
- Kitichai (10/5): - nice and clean property
- Debbie (8/5): - The host was very accommodating and helped get a more suitable cabin for the extra guest we had with us. The property was clean and they were really friendly. It was a nice stop to experience nature in the area.
- Ryan (6/5): - This place is fine for camping, quite nice actually: community kitchen, well kept bathrooms, showers but Wifi DOES NOT WORK. I came here to break up a drive and decided on a cheap sleepover in a cabin to watch some tv and not a camping experience… if you’re expecting such an amenity temper your expectations, this is a campground
- Robert (6/5): - It was alright
- Nancy (10/5): - Great area. Dining options limited. Everything closed before 9.
- James (2/5): - Was not as described nice people but cabin was disappointing.
- Shawn (10/5): - Would stay again
- Xyleera (8/5): - We loved the cabin! It was so cute, and cozy! We were a little dissapointed that the "10 minute walk to the lake" was in fact a 40 min walk, since you had to walk aprudn the entire lake to get tot he public access. But that was just a minor inconvience, and now we know to drive to the public beach, next time. Will definitely stay here again!
- Richard (8/5): - We rented a cabin without the bathroom. It was clean, bright, and roomy enough for 2 people. The staff were great and very helpful. There was clean bathroom and shower available near by. We will definitely stay there again.
- Jodi (10/5): - What a sweet cabin! The grounds are clean and well equipped and the staff super helpful and friendly.
- Richard (8/5): Worked well for the night to rest. - Appreciated the cleanliness - that all was wrapped together. Bed very comfortable. A big of an inconvenience to need to go out to the washroom. Good stopover.
- jack (8/5): Comfy bed - Comfy bed- only one plug in and no bathroom in basic cabin
- e (10/5): - The A -Frame cabin was perfect for our one night enroute to Alberta. The campground has kitchen facilities and dishes if we had wanted to cook.
The (recent)owners very very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again.
- ron (8/5): - The people are super nice and hospitable, the little cabin was very clean, bed comfy
Bathroom/ showers could be upgraded though
- DAVID (10/5): - Exactly what I needed
Clean fresh air, good bed and wonderful hosts
- Melanie (10/5): - These lovely cabine were so cute , easy to find and very cozy. The staff was incredibly nice and professional.
We showed up later than expected and they accommodated us with no problem.
Truly recommend
- Declan (10/5): - 2 person cabins.
- Roy (10/5): - This is a nice clean modern cabin in a beautiful setting.
- John (10/5): - bare bones, clean and funky, stuff movies are made of! not everyone's cup o' tea, but if you like something different give it a try! lots of improvements in the past 3 yrs. and now has wifi!!!
- Petra (10/5): - The cabin was cozy and clean and the property offered everything we needed during our stay.
- Ernest (10/5): - Quiet, clean and relaxing
- Ken (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprise with the cabin, it was very clean with fridge and microwave, Carol and James were very pleasant, I would stay here again
- Renee (10/5): - Cozy clean cabin
- Mark (10/5): - No frills for $80. And some of the cabins- 1-3 are quite OK
- Erika (6/5): - I like the quiet campground and the outdoor Kitchen. The Bathroom could be bigger
- Robert (10/5): - Very pleasant stay in one of the cabins.
Hosts are helpful, and friendly!
- Terry (10/5): - Great cabin!
Very clean, neat and cozy!
- Carol (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating owners
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating owners
- Tina (8/5): - Nice place to stay the night.
- Louise (10/5): - Easy check in and check out
- Corilee (8/5): - It was a brief but pleasant stay.
- Stephen (10/5): - The cabins are well maintained. Very clean. Outdoor kitchen stocked and clean.
VERY FRIENDLY OWNERS, they went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay.
The the river boat ride was awesome. Great food at the sandman restaurant.
- Lesley (10/5): - The people operating the campground were great very friendly and diligent. we will for sure go, back again on our way to and from Edmonton
- Danelle (10/5): - This was a very well run, CLEAN property, that had a lot of amenities. All the comforts at my fingertips. The outdoor community kitchen has been well thought out and is a real bonus!
- Thelma (8/5): - The property was fine and out stay was good. However, the town of Blue River seems to have been hard hit by the Covid pandemic. A number of business that were there previously were gone or closed. We had dinner out of the gas station on the highway because nothing else was available.
- Ashley (8/5): - Very cute little cabin positioned in a great spot to see the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Robert M (4/5): Location Accuracy - No problems with the facility.
But a combination of problems, led to one huge disappointment.
Hotel's.ca, confirmation screen does not provide an address, so as in the past I went to the confirmation e-mail, and clicked on the address, which brought up Google Maps, indicating property was 69k away, north. Traveling this it took me off on a new highway.
First disappointment, on the hotel being off route. Then I realized that Google Maps was taking me to the wrong address.
In the end, 160K of wasted miles, equaling 42.00 of fuel, plus 1.5 hours of wasted time. I showed this to the owners, no major response.
So I feel:
1) The campsite, should check their address, as provided to and seen by their clients.
2) Hotels.ca, should provide accurate addresses.
3) Google should provide accurate locations
4) We have to take responsibility to carry a map, for generalities as to a small towns location.
So no issues with site, but a conundrum of issues, resulting in only I being out the time and money.
- Amanda (8/5): - Great location, cabins were great. Nothing fancy but just what I needed. Beautiful, relaxing, peaceful get away.
- Russ (4/5): - Very little to like. The cabin had 2 beds, not bedrooms, one bed is in the kitchen there's a dirty, smelly horse pen behide the cabin.
There wasn't even a coffee maker.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great location. Cute little cabins. Very clean. It’s so beautiful and relaxing here. The beach is very close, great place to cool off.
- Cindy (6/5): Good enough - Little A-frame cabin. Had a fan in it and a mini fridge so that was helpful. Bathrooms in another building. Couch was covered but had no cushions. Needed to rent bedding, but was nice bedding and comfortable bed. Good for a night or two.
- Paul (10/5): - Great, good value and friendly people. The only downside is a lack of places to eat in the evening.
- Ilkka (4/5): - Not worth the price we paid for a tin cabin with a tiny bathroom & a half kitchen.
- Nelson (8/5): - Simple cabins, friendly, had a firepit though the bathrooms could use an overhaul
- Ann Marie (8/5): - Limited restaurants in the area. Nice to have full bathroom facilities in the campground.
- Raydon (8/5): - Just fine for our needs.
- Patrick (6/5): - It was like a hobo encampment the cabin was ok it was a bit rundown
- Grace (10/5): - Friendly staff. Had good heater. Clean washroom
- Alexander (4/5): Clarity on accommodation is needed - Host needs to be very specific (including better photos) what is meant by the “cabin” - it’s a well used container trailer used at fort mcmurray work camps.
The bed is sagging and sleep is uncomfortable
- Tina (4/5): Bring your own mattress!! - BRING YOUR OWN MATTRESS FOR CABIN!! Shared outhouse with adjacent cabin - needed to be cleaned out. Dark grounds at night. Could not close front door without locking - lol. Cute to look at, hard as rock bed.
- Sandra (6/5): - Very rustic cabin that was overpriced. No bedding...$5 surcharge if they provided. Shared portable outhouse, no running water. No security, as the mini hook would have allowed the door to be opened with little effort.
- Valerie (6/5): It's ok - This is a great place if you are travelling and can't find anything available but the lots are super tiny and it's an overcrowded area. It has cabins and campsites but you have zero privacy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for overnight stay. Little old though. Cant complain if you are looking to stay in log cabin. Mosquito repelant a must in there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Around the cabin there were unsightly building. No maintenance and old.
Washroom very cheaply done. No paper towels to dry hands. Some cabins are in nice areas. Clean cabin.
- Monica (4/5): - I wouldn’t recommend this place. The “cabin” had NOTHING,no bathroom,no blankets,no fridge,no 📺 nothing but a bed. No pillows. I understand that it was only$64.00 a night but NOT worth it
