Guest Reviews
- Ridenour (3/5): Its a place to sleep - Breakfast was decent Staff at the front desk seemed clueless, one person had to charge me 20 dollars extra but couldn't tell me what it was for
- Lorraine (10/5): This was one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it! - Everything Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Lessons of Loyalty - Customer service Brief stay
- Julissa (10/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): The pool was perfect for the kids. Wished it opened at 8am instead of 9am I have early risers. - The suites were perfect and reasonable price. The lobby where breakfast was served it was extremely hot.
- Constance (8/5): - Clean and reasonably comfortable. Good breakfast. No creepy guys hanging around- as i’ve experienced in other locations A bit noisy from other rooms, especially above
- Shannon (9/5): Short trip - Location was convenient.
- ohiomrspj (6/5): Very clean hotel. The staff is not that friendly. May be my last visit here. - We have stayed at this Residence Inn before. No 2 visits have been the same.
This one night visit was on a cold night. Our room was very clean and well stocked. The king bed was a little hard. The room was warm, but stuffy if the fan wasn’t running.
The breakfast was pretty good. I didn’t care for the tv and how loud it was, both at breakfast and after breakfast was done. We sat in the lobby for a bit before leaving the hotel, and the loud tv on a news station was distracting.
I don’t know the name of the clerk who checked me out, but she was rather rude. I see in past reviews that there have been complaints about the staff, but apparently this hotel is not inclined to replace the staff that customers have complained about. So if the same rude staff will be there, I will consider taking my business elsewhere. I have been to dozens of different hotels over the years, and a kind, helpful employee, especially at the front desk, can make all of the difference. They represent the hotel, after all.
- Mary (5/5): In a short sentence, 2/10 would not recommend - I love the idea of roasting marshmallows on the fire pit the easily accessible pool and the hot tub which is the reason I went to begin to get a good warm soak after a long work week I got to the hotel at 4:15 in my room still wasn’t ready. The front desk receptionist was not nice. She was very rude to me as if it was my fault that my room wasn’t ready when I booked. I said I needed the room ready by four I had to wait my room was not ready until 445. I was not offered any apologies. I was just told I could either wait out there or I could just wait to be checked in There was no apologies. Not a discount was offered nothing just rudeness. I didn’t like the fact that we did not have access to the pool. We had to go to the front desk person to get into the pool and she was very rude. The hot tub is no longer there. It was removed, but when I called and when I looked online, it said that they had a hot tub and a pool. I just don’t like when things aren’t upfront. If it’s not there, please don’t tell me it’s there because it looks like it’s been gone for a couple of months nowI just like for people to be completely honest so that I can make my decision. The hot tub was my reason for going completely. It was not OK. The worst part is this isn’t my first time staying at this hotel I’ve stayed here multiple times and it was always great this time. I don’t even know if I would ever go back.
- Hanes (10/5): We always love staying at a Residence Inn by Marriott - We had the 2-bedroom king suite, and it was a great space. My husband and I had our own bathroom off the master king bedroom. Our three boys had their own bathroom. Two boys slept in the other bedroom in a queen bed and one slept on the pullout couch. Having a full kitchen and table and chairs was a bonus also. We would definitely stay here again. Really things were very good, we just ran into a few small things- the AC wasn't working very well, it was 72 in the room; we turned it down to 66 and it didn't cool off for several hours. The pull-out couch didn't have a mattress pad but there were extra sheets and blankets. Breakfast seemed very early so we did not get to eat breakfast. We also arrived very late at nigth and let the kids sleep in a little.
- lisaoR9932OD (2/5): Horrible Staff - Dear Hotel Management,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to share my recent experience during my stay at your hotel, which was unfortunately quite disappointing due to the behavior of your staff, particularly Anita. From the moment we arrived, Anita never greeted us with a hello or made any eye contact, which came across as very rude. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident, as other staff members also displayed similar rude behavior.
My family was already going through a challenging time, as a member had just undergone surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. When her daughter went down to get some snacks, she was met with numerous questions from the staff and was told to go to a gas station down the street, which was both unprofessional and unkind.
I have stayed at your hotel numerous times, and each time, Anita's customer service has been consistently lacking. Her rudeness and unprofessionalism have not improved, and it is clear that her customer service skills need significant attention.
It is unfortunate that we will not be staying at your hotel again due to the staff's behavior, as we genuinely like the hotel itself. However, this experience has left us with no other choice. We will also be contacting the corporate office to address the rudeness we encountered from Anita and the other staff members. I will say Donna & Lisa were amazing when we had breakfast the other staff needs to learn from them on Customer Service and how to treat people.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that steps will be taken to ensure that future guests do not have to endure the same experience.
- Veronica (10/5): - Beautiful property, gorgeous room. Perfect for personal or business travel. I highly recommend
- Ancewicz (10/5): Our visit - Everything was lovely
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Denise (9/5): -
- Anna (10/5): - Everything was great except the bathroom was inconvenient. We had an accessible room, so there was no pan to catch the water from the shower so it went everywhere. Minimally, they need to have extra towels in that room. They also need towels hangers and shelves to put your clothes and stuff. Just a few small improvements would be a bed help. The room phone was also not working.
- MercyMe63 (8/5): Dissapointed!l Not only are we dissapointed with the price for one night, we're dissapointed with the receptionist's refusal for - It would have been 5 but I have a few issue's. One, we're not here for fun. I fact we're here because my husband is having a medical procedure at 6:30am tomorrow morning. So, we're here from out of town and over night for less than 12 hours so he prepare for it. We had to pay FULL PRICE! 430.00/USD even after asking for the Cleveland Clinic patient discount upon check-in. Receptionist stated that she couldn't do that because it was a "Pre-Paid" rate? I've been able to get the discount credited to my card the last we stayed, with the same kind of reservation.
- Rachel (10/5): - Staff was so nice, bed was really comfortable and my car was safe even all packed full of stuff!
- D6159YGsarahs (2/5): Bogus fee charges - Marriott elite member for over 20 years. Made a reservation with a pet, checked in told front desk I had a pet. She said she would deal with it later. We there less th an 24 hours my cat is who was confined to the bathroom the whole stay. I checked out with my dog pet right there and after dealing with an emergency, didn’t notice the pet fee wasn’t on my bill- not sure what the lady at the desk is supposed to do. 15 minutes later got an email
My bill was updated to include a pet fee and a misc $200 Charge for cleaning up after the pet.. Marriott corporate said to w $100 Fee covers pet cleaning (shampooing the rug and steaming the curtains) so no idea what the $200 charge is for. To boot I left a tip for housekeeping. Manager won’t answer the phone despite being mid day. I’ve disputed the charge and started a case with Marriott. Stay away. Too bad I didn’t read the reviews before hand.
- Alishia (10/5): - Very nice sitting area, convenient No bacon at breakfast
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disrepair and dishonesty - All plumbing fixtures loose and wobbly when trying to turn them on. Dishwasher leaked all over floor. Charge for smoking in nonsmoking room added to bill (we are not smokers). When we challenged desk clerk over charge he said he had no authority to remove it until we threatened consumer complaint to Ohio Attorney General.
- Diana (9/5): Superb -
- carolvQ8412HQ (2/5): Bad experience, made worse by management trying to overcharge us. - We had to be moved 3 times: 1st room had bedbugs, 2nd room had heating issues. 3rd room had a smell, and now we're being charged for smoking (News flash: we don't smoke) and for damages. If you have to stay here, make sure you take a video when you first check in (before you unpack your bags) and when you check out! You won't get any help...just extra charges for things you didn't do.
- Keanu (8/5): - I was a participating vendor in an art and craft show in a venue which was conveniently located right next door to the establishment. The staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere relaxed. I'd choose to stay again.
- todd (10/5): Date night - Our room was incredibly comfortable and roomy. The breakfast was very sufficient and plentiful. The desk staff was warm upon check in. We would definitely stay again.
- Judy (10/5): - Overall, the facility was nice, staff was polite and responsive, and the accommodations were good. It was difficult to regulate the room temperature. Some of my kitchen glasses looked dirty/greasy so I didn't use them. This is a very good location for my needs which were at the nearby hospital. There are lots of restaurants nearby.
- Justine (8/5): Comfortable stay, but some faulty amenities - I loved the room, the bed was very comfortable and the full kitchen was very convenient. It was like being home away from home I didn't like the shower setup. There was only one bathroom for 3 people, and the shower was contained with only one pane of see-through glass. The glass should have at least been frosted to offer some privacy in case someone else had to use the facilities, also only one pane, so the water sprayed all over the bathroom through the opening since it couldn't be closed all the way. I was also not happy that the spa/hot tub was closed all weekend. Also, the elevator stopped working in the early morning on Saturday during the breakfast rush. It took them half the day to fix it, but many people weren't happy.
- deborah (10/5): - Stayed here by accident. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the awesome stay.
- Sharee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ericha (8/5): - The staff was very nice and welcoming. Everything was set and available. You dont get room service unless you stay for 3 nights or more. I requested clean towels and i was forgotten about. But they did end up getting them to me after i went down and asked for them again. Their pool is un heated and not even 5' deep. Their hot tub was out of service. But literally everything else was perfect.
- Sherman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellie (8/5): I had an early morning appointment at the Cleveland Clinic in Avon, conveniently situated next door - There was a good variety. I particularly appreciated the scrambled eggs, as well as the yogurts and fresh fruit. Nothing comes to mind
- 757jot (10/5): Will be back - From start to finis, we had a perfect stay. Anita checked us in. She was so sweet and professional. Breakfast was better than most and we loved our room. It was spacious and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. I wish it was warmer because the fire pit looked extremely inviting. We won’t stay anywhere else when coming to Cleveland
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (3/5): Poor - No notification anywhere that the pool area including the hot tub was under repair for a few days. No signs posted nothing online. Everything advertised pool and hot tub availability. Staff was rude when asked about it.
- Ebony (8/5): - It was nice just wish the pool and jacuzzi was up and running
- Sondradee (6/5): Why is the pool always closed? - Placement of the property was nice. Decent parking, decent distance from building, not too complicated to arrive, check in and go in.
However, like always- the pool was closed for absolutely ZERO reason. I’m convinced they just don’t want to have to maintenance it from it being used so they don’t allow it to be used! We were promised a balcony/patio in the booking- wasn’t asked about it and did not get one! I have way more to say but I’ll be nice! - Dale (2/5): - Once I arrive to the property, I was told that the pool and Jacuzzi was shut down for Repair. I feel as if I should have received a courtesy email or this should’ve been noted amongst while booking rather than being told upon arrival. My room had no toilet paper as well as the kitchen floor was extremely sticky seems to be something was spilled and not cleaned properly. These problems were addressed with front desk and was not taken serious or even taken care of. This is not a place that I would recommend to anybody and absolutely not a place that I would go back to.
- Kimberly (10/5): - We celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday in the Emerald Event Center at The Residence Inn - Avon Lake. The staff was awesome!
- George (10/5): Wow - Comfortable stay
- Katlynn (2/5): - I had booked a one bedroom king and did not get one I ended up having a queen suite so it made bedtime hard for us with the kids. The beds were so uncomfortable. The pool was not open which we were not told about so my kids were bummed when we saw it was closed. I will not be staying at this hotel again. Worst one out of all the hotels I’ve stayed at and I have stayed at a lot due to traveling a lot.
- Paul (10/5): - Super friendly people
- Carol (10/5): - Very clean room
- Carmen (10/5): - Great people
- Lilliam E (10/5): - Facilites, employees, pricacy, the location amazing. You will love it. I really recomend this hotel!
- L8827ZHmaryd (2/5): Lock up your valuables every time you leave your room. - Just a reminder, as a guest at any hotel, you should know your rights and the hotel policy if you have items that go missing from your room. If you do not use the hotel safe every time you leave your room, you are leaving your items vulnerable. I would recommend staying somewhere else. There are plenty of other hotels in the area to choose from.
- Carylin (10/5): Great - It was very good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great folks appreciate all help.
- Bradley (10/5): - The facility was great, staff was very polite, location to downtown was great as well.
- Christine (10/5): - Lovely, modern, medium-sized property. Convenient to west Cleveland suburbs and main highway. Beautiful room with very comfortable bed. Studio suite would be ideal for a long stay.
- KerwinN (6/5): Please find other options - It is a shame based on location and the quality of suburb it is in that the management of this hotel seems to be absence.
I arrive after a 9 hour drive to a ¼ roll of TP in the room. I had to go down and ask for some and even after I showed the photo to the desk clerk, they did not apologize just set two rolls on the counter and that was that.
I enter and exited the hotel about 10 times over the next three days and not a single desk person looked up or said hello.
On the 3rd day being there and the room had not been cleaned I had to locate a service person to have ti clean. Apparently if you stay there more than two days you get every other day cleaning? This appears to be your reward to stay longer.
Needless to say the location is good if you need to be on the westside of Cleveland but I will not stay here again.
- christopher daniel (6/5): - Price paid does not reflect the value of the stay. Not enough amenities and limited option for breakfast.
- Colleen (9/5): Nice stay - Good
- Megan (10/5): - O
- N203JJlisak (4/5): It’s ok but would stay elsewhere next time - Work brought us to this area and I had an okay experience. The shower leaked all over the bathroom and a few of the lights in the room did not work. The people staying in neighboring rooms were noisy and talking loudly until nearly midnight despite it being a work night. Also, the blanket was stained with what looked to be food or even possibly blood or some kind of red substance, I am not sure…...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was way more than what we expected. The staff was phenomenal and tge room was over the top. Absolutely will stay here again.
- SMP2212 (2/5): Do Better - Disappointing experience here. The staff was helpful, the room was spacious, the A.C. worked well. But the room was not cleaned well. There were clear signs that housekeeping cut corners and did not change the bedding before I arrived. If they did, then they really need to do a better job of washing the sheets and comforters. They should be washed after every single guest. Is that not common sense?
- Jonathan (8/5): - Great stay super close to everything would’ve gave 5/5 but hot tub was out of service and outdoor lights for basketball courts didn’t work
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (8/5): - Staff at front desk very friendly and communicative before and during stay. Kitchen was well stocked and functional. Breakfast was pretty good with surprisingly decent coffee.
Maids were ok but sometimes forgot to leave new supplies or empty garbage. However the front desk rectified ir right away when we asked. A light bulb thar we asked to be replaced however, never was for over a week.
Main andrReally only complaint is the extremely loud AC which rivaled having a running lawnmower in the suite. For a new building this was puzzling. They need to fix this...never seen anything so inefficient in my life and ir would come on so often. Really unpleasant.
Overall rhis property does well but the HVAC is abominable.
- James (8/5): - some of the chairs in lobby were very dirty. no bacon for breakfast service
- Marcia (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (6/5): - The breakfast was very good. The rooms were very nice and spacious.
Was very disappointed that the pool was closed on a holiday weekend!
The gym was quite small and not very clean, and one day was not stocked with towels.
- David (6/5): - Evette at the front desk has phenomenal people skills. We were greeted warmly, she was super kind and had a fun personality. The room was nice and clean.
- Mohammd (10/5): - Amazing service and super clean hotel, spacious rooms. Very nice breakfast
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Room size
Our first room was too hot, a/c was out. They quickly gave us another room that was identical to first one
Their breakfast was great and staff were excellent Didn't get clean towels
- Liesa (10/5): - I travel to the area frequently to visit family. This was my first time staying since my go to hotel was booked. I was pleasantly surprised and will stay again when my go to isn’t available (it is much more convenient in proximity) Thank you for the hospitality! 😁
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wesley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffery (10/5): - Had a great stay
- Wesley (10/5): Exceptional - I literally liked everything about the hotel. No complaints whatsoever. Can't wait to come back.
- Gary (10/5): - Good
- Jaber (10/5): - Great hotel for family
- Katisha (10/5): - The people who cleaned the property cleaned were very friendly and helpful.
- Seaside12684204471 (10/5): PLEASANT STAFF,CLEAN HOTEL! - My husband, nephew, and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Avon,Ohio, to view and photograph the Solar Eclipse on April 8. I had talked to several front desk staff members prior to our stay and asked about room types. Carmen and Lisa were so nice and accommodating. Most reviews on Trip Advisor were positive and we looked forward to our first stay there. When we arrived on Friday, April 5, Pam, the manager, greeted us. WOW! She has the brightest smile and the personality to go with it! She was working at the hotel for all five days of our stay. She was always smiling, and even when things got stressful at the front desk, she was pleasant. Haley is another staff member who is at the top of our list of people to comment on. Housekeeping staff were also professional and pleasant. We had a King Suite, which is one of the nicest room types that we have stayed in. I want to commend Marriott for that. The living area and bedroom are separated by a hallway and a door. The bathroom is off of the hallway. That made it nice for our nephew who slept on the pullout sofa. He didn't need to access the bathroom through the bedroom. I want to note that the pullout sofa bed is more for smaller built people, but it was clean and the mattress was nice. Overall, we would highly recommend staying at this Marriott hotel!
- Sharea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (10/5): Nice place to stay - Nice place to stay. Very clean. Friendly staff.
Would stay again.
Next to Cleveland Clinic Avon. Meijer across the bridge.
- Miranda (6/5): Would start again - The pool was very cold and smaller than it looked in the pictures. The room was very nice and comfortable. We really liked that there was a kitchen with appliances and dishes. Some of the dishes were very dirty when we pulled them out but I just washed them. The shower was awkward due to half a door but nice.
- marcelon173 (10/5): Excelent choice in Avon neighborhood - Spacious room, comfortable, quiet, equipped with a full kitchen, standup shower and no bathtub (that, by the way, i personally think it's good). This was my first time at that hotel and my experience was great. It is nice for events in the Convention Center as well. Access to i-90 is very easy and it is only 7 minutes away from Crocker Park.
- Desirae (10/5): Would highly recommend! - Amazing, clean, and friendly staff
- Jennifer (4/5): - Being a more pricey hotel you would expect the breakfast to be better than lower priced hotels. We were very disappointed in the breakfast selections. How about bacon and sausage served daily with fresh scrambled cheesy eggs. Higher quality juices with breakfast would be great. The juices you provided were so awful tasting. Also how about flavored creamer for your coffee. Also staff complaining about being short staffed doesn't ring fun vacation. Also complained to staff about something bitting me in bed leaving blood on sheets and nothing was done about it. We also asked for room garbage cans and empty cans in recycling bin to be cleaned up/emptied and they gave us bags and told us to do it and leave outside our room door. Why am I paying all this extra money for if I'm going to take the trash out. Plus in the morning you have to walk down the hallway with all the dirty sheets laying in the hallway outside each room. It would also be nice if the pullout couch in the living room was clean enough to sleep on. Towels, washcloths, hand towels and toilet paper should be replaced when customers are staying multiple days.
- Matt (6/5): - Was at the property for 5 days, we had chosen this property because of the pool and hot tub, but the hot tub only worked properly 1 day of our stay. The continental breakfast didn't have many options and no changes to the menu daily, very disappointing
- steveoregon (8/5): Good place to stay in the western suburbs of Cleveland - Residence Inn Cleveland Avon is convenient to I-90 and the western suburbs of Cleveland. The hotel is surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the interstate freeway. The room was clean and the breakfast was good.
- Jennifer (8/5): - We come every year for our anniversary and love the rooms but this year, our room was a bit run down. Toilet paper holder falling out of the wall, corner stripping fell off the wall during the night and scared the heck out of us, kitchen faucet not connected to the counter, and one of the pendant light bulbs was burnt out.
- Connie (10/5): - Very friendly and clean!
- Nayda (2/5): - The room was nice and clean but the sad part was the air conditioning waking me up all night. The noise was so loud and it woke me up a few times during the night. The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress was so hard it was a nice and comfy bed like we were expecting. Not staying at that hotel ever again
- carol (2/5): Needs tlc - Have stayed here since it opened. Hotel is getting run down
- KERRY (8/5): - Had to request pool towels both nights. The second night they didnt have any so they gave us bath towels...hhhmmm.
- Mary (9/5): Overall, pretty satisfied with the visit. - Breakfast was decent. B'fast sandwich was a little weak in quality. Muffins, OJ, Coffee were all good. Room carpet seemed less than clean. Appeared to have some sort of black substance on it which followed us around to the hard floor, both in the bathroom and kitchen, a little.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudia (8/5): - The room was nice, but the TV kept disconnecting every night and needed the maintenance guy to restart every morning. My husband gets up at 5:30 am and did not want to bother the front desk at that time so he ended up sitting without it in the morning.
- Allison (8/5): Eh - Inside broken door to pool. Courtyard door from pool to hotel key card entrance broken. At 4am, our hotel room emergency light kept flashing and woke me up. I doubt this is customary.
- Lisa (10/5): My husband was able to stay here while I was in surgery. - Love that it’s right next door to the hospital.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended! - We had a very nice stay. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had some nice amenities including dishes, glasses, mugs, silverware, and pots/pans, and the bed and pillows were cozy. The shower worked well, and the provided soap/shampoo/conditioner was appreciated. The big screen TV was also very appreciated after a busy day. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had some nice choices. Highly recommended.
- Diana (9/5): Superb -
- MercyMe63 (10/5): Cleveland Clinic Stay - I can hardly write this review in 200 or less character's because this Residence Inn was wonderful given our stay was for a procedure the next day for my husband. Great experience except for a few minor cosmetic updates needed for the room, 325.
- EAC79 (10/5): Wonderful - Fantastic stay. Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a full kitchen and large bathroom. Kids loved the large pool and hot tub. Hotel also offers a sport court and a nice patio with cabanas, fire pit, and bag toss game. Very kind bartender. Free breakfast and easy parking. Location is very quiet, but there are a lot of restaurants a short drive away. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

- funinthesun44 (10/5): Wonderful stay!! - We stayed here for one evening, as we were attending an event at Lake Erie Crushers. Took an Uber, which was only $11, and about a 10 minute ride away (might of been less)
First stay ever at a Residence Inn and won’t be our last! Comfy bed, wonderful staff, delicious complimentary breakfast! That Turkey sausage was sooo good!
Air conditioning in the room wasn’t controlled, so I could make it 65 with no problem, loved it!
Highly recommend!!!
