- Paula (9/5): Yet another Whitby weekender - Lovely clean airy room. Spotless bathroom with powerful overhead shower... Thankful for shower cap and large fluffy towels. Nice assortment of teas, coffees and herbal drinks with a refreshing bottle of water also. Staff were friendly and ever so helpful. We were able to leave our bags to collect later ahead of our train journey home which was much appreciated. Lovely touches such as requesting toiletries etc if you had happened to have forgotten or ran out.. Little extras like that stand out in hospitality. Nothing not to like..

For me it wasn't worth paying the extra for a landmark view, because my 7 year old child wants tall enough to see out the window. Bed is on the small side for 2 adults, but is very comfortable. Although on street parking is potentially available not too far away, I opted to park in the council carpark for £12 /24 hours, but this also gives access to many carparks in the area. From the pictures on booking.com it wasn't clear which building is the correct one. Fyi, it's a middle terrace.

It was up loads of flights of stairs which wasn’t explicit in booking .didn’t resemble picture on booking.com. Window opened only slightly and room was stuffy. Tiny bathroom but all worked fine. Next door had external bathroom which meant a lot of open and closing of doors. Think we drew short straw in rooms on offer .

- Thomas (9/5): A perfect guesthouse, centrally located, a short walk into the town centre. - The location of Broomfield House is excellent. It is a very short walk into the town centre (just a couple of minutes). The guesthouse is opposite Pannett Park, and our family room offers views of the park. The hosts were very friendly, and the check-in process was seamless. The room had a small mini fridge, stocked with milk and tea/coffee making facilities. We will be visiting again. There was nothing we didn't like about our stay here.

Bathroom was clean and tidy. Wireless was full 5 bars and having FreeSat was an unexpected bonus. The 'blinking' smoke detector though it is a legal requirement it was obtrusive at night.

- Garry (3/5): Not Great - The towels were nice and fluffy, the bedding was clean and the room was warm. The location was great. The room was tidy but wasn't very clean, mould on the wall in the corner above the wardrobe which needs attention, dust present in areas such as on skirting boards, the extractor fan in the bathroom was filthy. The walls were paper thin and you could hear into the bathroom of the adjoining room (not ideal at night when you are trying to sleep). The noise from the road was quite loud.

We had room number 6 (top floor) which we didn’t mind - we got our steps in 😂 however the only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is that it was so hot (out of the owners control!) but it just needed some type of air con or extra fans. We had the window open the whole time which helped a bit. However - it was clean, tidy, excellent location and the owners are really friendly.
