Our room was wonderful, very comfortable. The breakfast was a highlight and food was delicious! The staff were some of the best that we've had in our travel. Need a wall shelf for the bathroom to put towels, etc. Maybe a printed information sheet for guests at check in.

Our room was on the entrance level because of mobility issues. It was very nice . The main level is up one floor but easy to get to. The history of the home was explained thru an excellent tour after breakfast. Wine is served each evening at 5 o’clock. We didn’t have that experience but heard it was nice. We had conflicting schedule. All in all I would recommend a stay while in Vicksburg MS.
- 819garlanda (10/5): This is a must stay - This is a great place to stay in Vicksburg. It’s an antebellum mansion turned into a Bead and Breakfast. The first floor is more like a museum with some Civil War artifacts and period furniture. We stayed in the Seige room, and although a little small was just fine for us. It was very quiet and we never heard our neighbors. The breakfast is three courses and was excellent. While waiting for your food you can engage in lively conversation with your housemates. I would say it’s probably the best place to stay in Vicksburg.

- E416MLdanam (10/5): Fabulous stay - The Duff Green Mansion is a Gem of history. The Rooms are beautiful and include a private bathroom with fresh linens and a hairdryer. The 3 course breakfast is amazing with coffee, juice, biscuits with applebutter,fruit, egg with hollaindause sauce, and the best- Cheesy Grits! Harley and her staff are pleasant. The tour about the home and Duff family after breakfast was enlightening. This home is located in the heart of Vickburg MS, close to the river, shops,and restaurants. This Mansion is just a wonderful place to stay with friends or as a couple. We thoroughly enjoyed our 25th Anniversary here.

The wine hour from 5-6 helps visitors getting to know one another. The breakfasts were good and also contributed to meeting other travelers . You learn so much from one another . I asked for an additional blanket because I was cold the night before . In a blink of an eye , a beautiful warm quilt was in our room . The staff were very accommodating . The mansion is gorgeous and the rooms were beautiful . Beds were comfortable . All rooms had attached bathrooms . Coffee and tea center on each floor . Duff Mansion will be a redo.

- reginae2026 (10/5): A Step Back in Time (with modern amenities) - We are about to make our third trip to the Duff Green. For our first stay (I believe it was 2023), my daughter and I stayed in the Dixie room. We were super excited to be staying in the "most haunted" room in Vicksburg. Unfortunately, we didn't see any ghost but did have a fabulous night's stay! Breakfast was delicious, and for our tour we were fortunate enough to have a descendent of Jefferson Davis there to assist! Our next stay was last year (2025), when we came for the Vicksburg Civil War Relic Show. We (me, my daughter, and my husband), were able to stay in the Pemberton. As a Civil War buff and History teacher, it was incredible falling asleep that night right under the hole in the ceiling/beams made during the siege of Vicksburg! My brother went with us, staying in the Dixie room. Our best memories were sitting on the second floor balcony after dark, watching lightning way off in the distance over the Mississippi River, as a cool breeze blew by. We stayed on the balcony for at least 2 hours, discussing the South's secession/constitutionality of seceding, and other Civil War related topics. While sitting there, it suddenly occurred to me that this very thing probably happened, right where we were sitting, during the years leading to, and during, the "War of Northern Aggression!" It was truly a surreal experience. The next morning, breakfast was again delicious. I love eating from fancy china dishes, and sitting right there in the same room the original family would have had their breakfast in. My brother is diabetic, and the kitchen went out of their way to make something "just for him," that was a little safer for him to eat....now that is service! We are getting to return in February, 2026, for the Vicksburg Civil War Relic Show, and have just booked the Pemberton again (mainly because of its easy balcony access, its high ceilings, and that beautiful cannon ball hole). We cannot wait to make new memories, and encourage anyone who wants a stay they will always remember, to not hesitate booking here!

It is within walking distance of the riverfront A 3 course breakfast was included. Everything served was good except the waffles were not edible. They had an extremely bitter taste.

- 770kathied (8/5): Great atmosphere and great times - Our stay was great except that there was a mix up on the room that we had chosen for our stay. We had two couple and no way one couple could stay on a pull out sofa bed. So we had to change rooms for the last night of our stay. The house, breakfast and staff were great. They tried to accommodate us as best as possible but just an inconvenience to move especially when we could see that that there was another room that would have accommodated us (without moving mid stay) that was vacant the entire time! But overall we would definitely stay again!!

- Christine (7/5): Duff Green Mansion was interesting enough, if expensive, for a one night stop on route. - We were welcomed by the host and shown to our room. We were offered a glass of wine and the opportunity to meet with other guests which was nice. We visited Vicksburg Main Street which was quite a walk down & then up hill home. We should have driven as couldn't get a taxi and parking wasn't an issue. After breakfast we were given a tour of the house which was interesting. We were offered full use of the lounge but we didn't have time as we had to get to New Orleans. Breakfast was unusual for we Brits. We would have liked some choice, toast & eggs maybe. However, there was plenty of orange juice, tea & coffee. Our room was cold in the night. It would have been nice if the extra blanket was put out for us rather than hidden in a cupboard. Bed was ok if a bit hard, but it was an antique so expected. We had lots of luggage as we were on a road trip and it would have been nice if there was someone to help us with our bags as our rooms (2 couples) were up & down stairs. All in all, it was okay.

- jimhS8299SS (10/5): Exceeded every expectation - Initially there was a mistake with my reservation thru a booking site. My fault. I booked two consecutive days instead of a Wed and Sat night stay. The booking site was not helpful at all. A call directly to the Duff Green had it resolved including a confirmation email and a call from the owner We made late arrival both nights, were greeted by the host and every last detail was as expected. The rooms were clean, bedding that you could balance a quarter on, towels at the ready and HOT water. The neighborhood and the property felt safe and included with ample parking. The host was very personable and gracious and the staff genuinely attentive and detail oriented. Breakfast was on point and the house tour afterwards was informative and presented in a confident and engaging manner. Our stay on the return trip was even more impressive I can 100% recommend the Duff Green Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Lovely poolside out door area, comfortable porches and nice rooms. Ask for The Seige Room. Breakfast was leisurely and excellent.

Cooled off a bit a night but even with the ceiling fan I was warm. Had a problem opening one of the two main entry doors. Always had to enter in the back.

Seeing the boarded-up doors and windows on nearby buildings, we were concerned. We were never told what she meant. Gardens were overgrown and the pool was unusable. We entered the Camellia Room and found dust everywhere. Paint spatters were on the furnishings and rugs. A paint can lid had been left on a windowsill. Three windows had cracked panes. The doorknob on the outside door fell off. The main doors to were never locked. I contacted Harley immediately upon arrival. My text messages were met with no apologies. We spoke with Harley the next morning. She gave excuses, but here are no excuses for everyday dirt and disrepair. The breakfast was poor. 1st course was a biscuit, jam, & fruit. On the first morning, the 2nd course was a TINY slice of quiche. The next morning, we had a single slice of French toast and sausage. We had two small THIN INEDIBLE pancakes, scrambled eggs, and crispy bacon on our last morning. They tasted like frozen pancakes from Walmart. Every entree was served with a lettuce leaf and slice of tomato. The final course was always a tiny square of pound cake with a bit of whip cream and a single blueberry. We were rushed away quickly, Don’t stay…stay away!

- 989marythereseg (2/5): Huge Disappointment! - My husband and I stayed at Duff Mansion from 8/26/2025 to 8/29/2025. We were utterly disappointed. It began when Harley texted that no one would be there to greet us due to "world conditions". Seeing the boarded-up doors and windows on nearby buildings, we were concerned. We were never told what she meant. We looked around the grounds. The gardens were overgrown and the pool was filthy. It had dozens of leaves and bugs in it and a thin layer of scum on the water. It was unusable. The patio was pretty but needed care. We entered The Camellia Room and found a thick layer of dust everywhere. Paint spatters were on the furnishings and rugs. A paint can lid had been left on a windowsill. Three windows had cracked panes. While bringing in our suitcases, the doorknob on the outside door fell off. The outside doors were never locked. (Our room itself did have a secure lock.) I contacted Harley immediately upon arrival. My text messages were met with no apologies. We spoke with Harley the next morning and received excuses. The pool was cleaned a bit (but was still unusable). Her husband was unable to find the paint can lid that was still on the windowsill. Harley explained it was hard to keep good cleaning staff and they didn't "like to be checked up on". She stressed the difficulty of keeping such an old home. However, there are no excuses for everyday dirt and disrepair. The breakfast was poor. The "three course meal" started with a first course of a delicious biscuit, jam and a small ramekin of fruit. On the first morning the second course was a tiny slice of quiche. The next morning, we had a single slice of French toast and sausage. We had two small thin inedible pancakes, scrambled eggs, and crispy bacon on our last morning. They tasted like frozen pancakes from Walmart. Every entree was served with a lettuce leaf and slice of tomato. The final course was always a tiny square of pound cake with a bit of whip cream and a single blueberry. We were rushed away quickly, My husband and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfast places, and breakfast has always been something special. It was always delicious and homemade. Nothing at Duff Mansion appeared to be made onsite. We stayed because we had prepaid the room. (Harley didn't offer any type of recompense.) The location was close to the downtown area and very convenient. We were simply too worn out to bother moving. We would never recommend Duff Mansion.

- Kristen (2/5): - Called ahead to let them know we would be late for check in they said they would send me a text with all the info to check in late an how to get key , had to call back to get the info then when we drove all night an got there around 10:30 there was no key to our room in the lock box an no one would answer the phone or help us so we had no where to stay after driving all night so we drove 2 more hours an got a hotel in Hattiesburg.

The only problem I had was keeping my wife from trying to take the wonderful antique furniture home with us. Anytime we're in the Vicksburg area, this is where we will be staying.

Rooms worn down, house and rooms need renovation. Lamps not working, plastic tiles from bathroom ceiling falling down, noisy /dirty old airco, loose stone at fireplace. Not very clean (eg.dirty mugs in guest kitchen upon arrival, not very appealing). Staff member who did check-in gave hardly any information. Fixed breakfast time + menu. Breakfast basic, but not at a level that you expect in this setting. Breakfast like B&b: together with other guests. Loose parts at pool, no pool towels. Overall: very nice setting, the house got a lot of potential, but a lot of work to make it a real 'antebellum-chique' experience.

Das Personal und die Eigentümerin waren sehr zuvorkommend. Es ist eine Übernachtung jedenfalls zu empfehlen und stimmt schon für die Battlefield Besichtigung ein. Wenn man hier etwas nennen will, dann wäre das nur das Wlan, das leider in den Zimmern überhaupt nicht und im Gang sehr schwach funktioniert hat. Das ist für Touristen aus der EU natürlich ein Thema, da hier mobile Daten nicht unbegrenzt zur Verfügung stehen und die Datenverbindung über das Mobilnetz leider auch eher langsam ist.
- 80chuck (10/5): Truly Living History--in Style! - The Duff Green Mansion is a "must see" for Vicksburg. We actually stayed overnight at the Halpino in Vickburg, which is just 1 1/2 blocks from the Duff Green Mansion, owned by the same people. Halpino was touted as the "best value" in Vicksburg--and it was! Queen size bed in a room upstairs--there are only two rooms in the house. Quiet and comfortable. Coffee downstairs, and then off to Green Mansion for breakfast, served on what looked like original china in a big room with a handful of other guests. Very nice. If you stay at the Duff Green, there's no where else to go but downstairs for breakfast! They have a nice pool (we didn't use it). The best part was a tour of the mansion. Excellent. Wonderful history lesson and you will learn a lot about Vicksburg, and its people.

Much needed slower pace. Tour of home was also very interesting and great southern hospitality We loved everything. They have a beautiful pool but we did not have time to enjoy it. Patio is lit at night so it is so peaceful. We stayed in King size room on the second floor. Pemberton and it was awesome and so quiet. There are stairs to get there. Loved it!

The evening wine was delightful and gave us an opportunity to meet the other guests. The proprietor of the Mansion was in attendance. She is friendly and accomadating. The mattresses need replaced. I was able to try two of the beds and they are worn out. We heard from another couple that was staying there that their bed was uncomfortable also. When staying at a 4 star accommodation, the beds should be very comfortable.

We could see the 4th fireworks from a large window perfectly. Perfect location. The stairs to upstairs room was quite steep. Fine for younger folks and if you're in good shape but worth considering for mobility challenged Travellers.
