• Giulia (5/5): Fine if you just need a bed - The location was great. Near the main street but tucked away in a quiet area. Kitchen sink was dirty ALL the time, bits of food everywhere and the pans/pots were not in great conditions either. Sinks in the toilets had soaked tissues left there, showers had a fair bit of hair on the floor and flooded. Most guests are long term backpackers who live there, so it is very cliquey and not friendly/welcoming at all. They act like that is their own place (phone calls in the dorms when people are sleeping, coming back middle of the night and slamming doors etc). May be okay if you plan to stay longer and eventually make friends, but it is not a good hostel for people traveling. The bedrooms windows were never opened so the air was stale. The pool was also dirty and not useable. Honestly, this place gets is not getting worse rating only because of the location and nice reception staff.

A lot of longterm guests and it gets very quickly very dirty and messy in the kitchen with nearly 200 guests using the kitchen all the time. Not much space to cook for so many people. • Ariadna (6/5): - It’s a large place with many rooms and lots of activities, so there’s always something to do. They also offer good discounts and opportunities like work for accommodation, which is really helpful. Overall, a very complete and positive experience. Here’s a concise version in English you can add: ⸻ There are quite a lot of people for the kitchen facilities available. Even though there are two kitchens, it was already difficult to find space to cook, and it’s not even peak season yet. There aren’t enough utensils or equipment for everyone, and there are limited stoves and general cooking space. There is plenty of storage for food, both in the fridge and cupboards, which is a plus. However, there are only around 3–4 showers for everyone, which can be inconvenient. Towels could also be provided. Overall, the place has many facilities and is well-equipped, but the atmosphere among guests felt a bit off, as people weren’t always very respectful.

• Denisse (7/5): Good for one night - The showers and toilets outside the room, but good facilities. Very friendly staff. Is in a good spot in Port Douglas. The cages or crates to leave staff instead of having lockers and no plugs close to the bed at the top.

• Laura (6/5): Ok hostel right in Port Douglas - Great location right in Port Douglas, close walk to everything including 4 mile beach. Room would get really hot and stuffy. There were only 2 plugs in the whole room, with one of these being for the air conditioning unit. However people would unplug this to charge their devices because there weren’t enough charging ports in the room. Mattresses uncomfortable, could feel the springs. Hostel generally a bit dirty everywhere.

• Rita (4/5): Don’t recommend - Clean sheets and location I always stay in hostels, and this is by far one of the most disgusting and dirty place I’ve stayed. Old and dirty, the floor, the bathrooms… the shower had used tampons and nobody cleaned them for the 2 nights we stayed there. The kitchen super filthy, after seeing a rat I can tell you, didn’t even use the water from the sink. And the pool definitely doesn’t invite you to go in. They tell you to be quiet after 11pm, but they keep going right outside the window until at least 1.30am. Impossible to sleep and rest, not even one bit! Even using earplugs. Staff from reception was nice, but doesn’t change the feeling of disappointment with the price paid, as we feel totally overcharged for what the place is

• Craig (9/5): Friendly, cheap and convenient. - Really good social gathering areas, with wonderfully nice priced drinks at the bar. Staff were always friendly and up for a chat. Suitably placed between main strip, beach and access in and out of town. Stayed in a private room, which was spacious and comfortable. Swimming pool, gym and kitchen areas always clean and tidy. Only had a small issue with the shower in our private room leaking, which we reported on checkout and the staff were straight on to sorting it out.

The room was fine, like any other hostel. The location is central, which is nice considering the city is very small. But honestly, VERY DIRTY.

They did charged my by accident for an extra night. After letting them know they refunded the amount quickly, but it was still inconvenient.

Les autres pensionnaires dans la chambre étaient assez irrespectueux et bruyants. Il n'y avait pas assez de toilettes pour le nombre de personnes présentes : juste 3 toilettes homme dans tout le bâtiment (un à chaque étage). Il faut faire la queue le matin...

• Charlene (8/5): Good Enough for What It Is - - Room was spacious. - Hostel had ample washing machines & dryers. - Large, open lounge & airy TV area. - Respectful & quiet enough guests. - Specific area for smokers that guests respected. - Big pool. - Hostel located in a very central location but tucked away nice enough for quiet & privacy. - The ceiling was really mouldy. - Toilet was very noisy when flushed. - The entire hostel probably needs a good spruce up.
