Guest Reviews
- Christopher (8/5): - Nice spot
- thomas (8/5): - the outside look is a little deceiving. It is a slightly dated motel, but the rooms are clean, beds are very good, very clean linen, and showers/sinks are up to date. And the prices reasonable
- Genie (10/5): - What a gem!! The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. We will start again.
- Roderick (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms, clean property,I have no problem with there service and yes I would recommend them
- susan (10/5): Burthday trip - It was great, frienndly people running it.clean,warm. Close to what we wanted to do and see.
- Sylvia (8/5): - Older property but clean
- Christian (2/5): - The Room was clean and the family running the place is very nice.
No amenities like coffee
Very basic room
- Nancy (8/5): - I found this motel amazingly clean. It had comfortable beds, fridge and microwave. The staff was friendly. I will definitely go back!
The only thing that would have made the stay better was a coffee maker in the room!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I had a service dog and they questioned it. I suffer from past PTSD.
- William (6/5): - Is a good value but you get what you pay for
- Darcy (10/5): Spacious and clean - Spacious and clean budget room. Would stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms need a coffee maker!!
- Ron (10/5): Affordable basic stay with amenities close by. - In town for our son’s graduation. The hotel was clean, quiet, and adequate. We don’t need a lot of bells and whistles, just a place to retreat from the business of the day. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and took time for some casual conversation with us.
- Mark W (8/5): - Ok....Im going to be honest. This motel needs an upgrade. The area it's in is sketchy. Having said that, my stay was quiet, the room was clean, the bed was adequate, I slept well.
- Gary (10/5): - Very convenient location. Nice place. Reasonable price.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Very quiet and clean !
- carol (10/5): - This is not a $200/night motel. For the price is it a wonderful place. The bathroom was meticulously clean. Beds very comfortable. Staff very helpful and pleasent. There are a number of homeless in the area, but at no time did I feel unsafe. Only thing I wish they had was coffee. None in the rooms or office.
- Brian (10/5): - Property on the outside left much to be desired. Our room was nice, clean and roomy. Staff was friendly and helpful. We’d stay here again.
- Anthony (6/5): Rude!!!! - When we arrived at the property we were talked down to and treated like garbage. When we attempted to check in using our existing reservation we were told there was none and that they didn't take online reservations or credit cards. They made us go back out in the cold and find a place to get cash.
- Kelly (10/5): - I had my first contact with the owner a few days before we actually arrived to request my son's name to be added, so he coukd check in prior to my arrival. The owner wasn't able to do that, but told me how I could add him via the site i used to secure the rooms.
We arrived late, but the owner was lind and gracious, and allowed my don to check in early.
The outside of the building is old, and made me nervous about how the room would look, but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door and saw the room had been renovated and was welcoming and clean. So nice, after a long day of travel. We got a good night's sleep, and left the next morning to travel to our destination.
The motel, and owner, were just what we needed; a pleasant and accommodating place to lay our heads, before the next leg of our journey. THANK YOU.
- Charles (8/5): - Room was nice and clean. Owner was very helpful and nice. Good location for what we were doing in the area.
- RICHARD (4/5): A little disappointed. - The room was ok for an overnight stay but was disappointed that the refrigerator did not have a freezer to put frozen items in it
- Stephanie (8/5): - This property is an older motel with new updates. The beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean and check in was easy. It was exactly what was expected based of pictures. We didn't need much for this trip and it provided exactly what we needed.
- Gilbert (8/5): - The owners are really solid good people. One night there was a very loud group hanging out near my door; they were like this for quite a while. After a couple of complaints the owner came down and read them the riot act. They quieted down. Problem solved.
- Martha (10/5): Pleasantly surprised! - What a gem of a motel! Check in was quick and cordial. We were given 3 bottles of water upon asking where we could buy some. The outside is nothing fancy but inside was very clean. The bathroom area is newly remodeled and spacious. Beds extremely comfortable and all linens immaculate, Air conditioner worked great. Highly recommend!
- Jacqueline (8/5): Family-run business - Love a family-run business. They were very nice. The room was good, I would stay again. The reviews about the dope heads are correct. I would go out for a walk there, but the Motel can't help that.
- Analisa (8/5): - The staff is great, make sure to keep the property clean, and it's super convenient that there is always someone at the front desk so you can check out whenever you need. I liked that it was close to the freeway, but the tradeoff is that the traffic can be noisy.
- Andrew (8/5): - It was good for the price
- GCM1961 (10/5): The most comfortable beds - The rooms were very clean, tidy and equipped with everything you'd need from a motel. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming (giving us good travel tips for our onward journey.
But most of all, the beds were just so comfortable!!
A great place for a one night stop-over
- Gerard (10/5): - The rooms were very clean, tidy and equipped with everything you'd need from a motel. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming.
But most of all, the beds were just so comfortable!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Surprising quality. - Clean room, super comfortable bed. You could tell the hotel was a little older, but they had done a great job of updating it and the only thing that is keeping me from reading it five stars would be the location. There was some road noise but nothing too loud. Definitely a great value.
- Curtis (8/5): Worked swell. - The place is older and needs some TLC, however, the room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the parking lot well lighted. It served our purpose and would stay here again.
- Manuel (6/5): Springs Visit - Kids in the lobby of people that run the place Raughtwider Dog with them. Tons of dope heads across the street and all around the area. The door lock deadbolt was stuck we had to get the owner/manager to get us in the room. The room was clean and well-kept maid service left only the doorknob lock locked after cleaning we had the deadbolt locked when we left for the day. We left a day early due to the fear of dope heads breaking into our car. When we left the wroughtwilder was around are car we had to watch out they can be nasty he was barking at us. The room was good enough but that area of town is a little nerve-wracking for seniors.
The manger was OK but the dope heads need to go and he could have a good business. Seems like the city is going way downhill since my last several trips to the Springs
- Lawrence (8/5): Comfortable large rooms and EXCELLENT service - The Chateau Motel may not look like much on the outside, but our room was VERY large, very nice, and quite comfortable. Unlike many other motels these days, our room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided each day of our stay and the bed was made. We parked outside of our room each night. Although there is a large homeless population in the area surrounding the motel, that presented no issues to us during our stay. We look forward to our next trip to Colorado Springs and future stays at the Chateau Motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The motel is located very close to I-25 for quick access anywhere. The staff was very friendly. The room was well kept with nice beds and clean linens, a nice TV, plenty of room, and included a small fridge and microwave. The bathroom had everything we needed and the shower/tub was clean and had a nice showerhead for a great shower.
The area the motel is located in is not the best with a lot of homeless around, but the grounds were clean and we never felt unsafe and were never bothered by anyone. The road the motel is located on is one-way coming out of the parking lot so you have to go down the street and turn around to get to the highway, but that was a minor inconvenience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was fine, if you need something in a pinch. The room appeared clean. The female staff person brought me an iron when I inquired about one. Check-in/check-out was easy.
The internet was terrible. Bad neighborhood. Homeless person accosted me for food at my car as I was about to enter my room.
- Eric (10/5): - Nice motel. Homeless in the area but it doesn’t matter. Room is completely safe and very clean
- John (4/5): Over charged! Watch your credit card! - I was over charged on this room. I was never given any part of my $133 back as a deposit.
- ROBIN (10/5): - I HAVE STAYED HERE BEFORE AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT IT'S SO QUITE AND PEACEFUL
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Traveled with daughter sketchy area but didnt feel unsafe the curtains allowed outside lights to shine through so i thought it was morning all night long .Dont need an alarm clock because the train rolls through with its horns blaring at5:30am.
- Michael (8/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place to stay - It was a very good stay. The beds were very comfortable, there were many, very clean towels, soaps and shampoos were high quality, the tv was new and the ac was powerful. There are lots of electrical outlets and phone charging in all the “right” places in the rooms.
The place is small, family owned business. The owners are genuinely, very friendly. Many rooms are on the first floor, good for me who has trouble with stairs and long walks from parking.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Newly renovated rooms with a quiet environment.
Easy access to freeway and activities.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Homeless area across the road was not a welcoming site
- Jerry (8/5): - Very clean and good service
- Chris (10/5): Road Tripping - Very clean, very comfortable, easy access to nearby destinations. Area is a little sketchy due to the many homeless folks loitering the area but they seemed harmless enough. The motel is old and hasnt been updated on the outside but the interior has been somewhat updated and had a very comfortable bed.
- maximiliano (8/5): Pleasantly Surprised - I've got to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I read the reviews and took a chance on this place. The staff is very friendly and personable and check-in was a breeze. The room is very clean with a large bathroom. The beds are comfortable and I had a pleasant night's sleep. I wouldn't bring my family to stay here though. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy but since I was up for business and by myself I figured it would be okay. And I was right. I'd even consider doing it again if I came back on Business by myself. All the sites are nearby and it's right off the highway which made it convenient for my trip. The staff does make sure that nobody's wandering the parking lot at night. It's a fairly safe environment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff. Need a microwave, they send a brand-new one in ten minutes. Makes me very happy. Highly recommended.
- Dan (10/5): - It was big and clean. Had a LOT of trouble opening old door's lock with the key but that is my only complaint.
- Claudia (8/5): Big clean rooms - Room was supper clean Front desk was supper friendly. Room was very roomie large. no microwave but we did have a mini fridge. There was alot of people maybe homeless walking at night. The room did not have a montain view but it is right in front of a small park where the montain view is nice. Wifi was average so no complains.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was so close off the highway and the perfect place to stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No alarm clock. No hair dryer. Room heater was either 80 degrees or 60 degrees - nothing in between. Office staff incredibly rude.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The immediate area is a little sketchy. The room was very sparse but clean enough. If you don’t care about amenities and are interested on going cheap with a bed and shower, this place is good enough.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for a Quick Stay - Stayed one night basically only to sleep and shower. Our room (#103) felt like it was recently refurbished - the carpets and bedding were sparkling clean, the bathroom was large and floor felt fresh. There were two beds, but the space didn't feel cramped like most motel rooms that have two queens. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are train tracks nearby, but we were so exhausted when we arrived that this didn't bother us at all. We reached super late at night but the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly.
Docked a star because a) the mattress wasn't super comfy (I prefer a firm mattress so most folks won't find this to be an issue) and b) the door lock was a bit of a pain to operate from the inside. Other than that, a lovely stay and very affordable.
- kuyals (8/5): Very Nice - There are several motels in this area and of the ones I checked the Chateau was the most reasonable. The room was very nice and clean and appeared to have been recently updated as the carpet and things seemed new. The room was large and comfortable. Good free WiFi in the room and there was also a ref. Room was quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Motel is in a good location just north of I-25 at exit 140 with many restaurants in the area. A good Vietnamese restaurant about 1/2 block north of the motel. I would recommend giving the Chateau a try.
