The bed very goodThe bathroom also very good but could use a shower curtain.Because water goes everywhere when taking a shower. The grounds are very very nice. The beach can be accessed with a small taxi that goes from the rooms to the beach and back.This service is all throughout today. The reason for my low evaluation is the food. This hotel is all inclusive, but the food is very, very substandard.For an international hotel, breakfast is basically local food.Every day, the same thing. For international travelers, there is not much variation in the food.Everything looks and tastes like "gajitos" food that you can buy in the street for very little money. As and all inclusive resortThe drinks were free and were in abundance. I recommend trying to use a small exclusive restaurant which is sometimes included at no x.Additional cost where they serve you very, very good and tasteful food.The food that you receive for lunch or dinner again is very substandard.It's just very local, very cheap.Costa rican food, in my opinion, not suitable for foreigners. I would not recommend this hotel for international travelers

Although the hotel may use some renovations, we had a wonderful time overall. In addition, the on-site restaurant offers excellent meal service. The beach is within walking distance, and the shuttle service is excellent. I definitely recommend.
Christina (10/5): - My husband and I visited Costa Rica for the first time and stayed at Condovac La Costa. This place had the most stunning views, the friendliest staff, and access to amazing adventures. The rooms are a bit dated, however, the bed was perfect and the room was clean and cool. If your plan is to stay in a room, this ain’t it. If your plan is to immerse yourself in adventure and local community, be surrounded by beautiful sites and enjoy a breathtaking experience, I’d highly recommend. You’ll basically have a person onsite that can connect you to all things. Our guy was Inaki and he literally made himself available for all of our excursion needs. I can say more about this place and the people. Pura Vida!!

Ac unit needed repairs in my room. Hot water wasn't working. Food was good. Snacks were ok. Wifi only worked by the lobby and sometimes in the main dining area.

William (2/5): - While the staff is understaffed their kindness shows and they seem to care... the Condovac property is honestly dilapidated, old and in need of some serious TLC!! The all inclusive property has a singular dining hall for all you can eat, with limited hours. The one other place to eat is by reservation only. There is one timeshare-like sales oriented company that's built into the experience. They offer money back etc. The typically. If you like walking hills... get ready!! Yes they have a shuttle that runs with a generous frequency, but it's not always there when you need it. Get ready for serious cardiovascular workout, via your lower body, make sure your heart is good/pretty strong. Otherwise, be patient and await thr shuttle. The food, in the singular dining hall does not seem to be prepared with true Costa Rican pride; needs improvement. Safety didn't seem to be an issue. The location was probably the best thing it alhas going for it. Even tho black sand beaches are a very different vibe, Playa Hermosa (hermosa beach) didn't disappoint. If I could sum up the Condovac experience in one word it would be; Overpriced. They would be wise to sell. And/or close down for 1 year, and commit to rebuilding. going up and down the hill.

Ashley (8/5): - The reason we selected this location was because they advertise that they have child amenities like a Ferris wheel bumper cars none of which were open when we got there also, it should be noted that you will have no Internet in the room, which is a bit concerning for us however the location and pools were phenomenal. They had great transportation methods to get you through locations. They also advertise that four different restaurants were available however while we were there only one was available and to be honest only breakfast was a good option there thankfully there were other options available on the beach. We did have to pay out-of-pocket for those restaurants however they were very good 10 out of 10 highly recommend Roberto‘s.

You need to refill them when you go for lunch/dinner. Foods were same everyday. Nothing special. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and very safe by the way. Peoples are very nice and honest.

There were no complimentary i that we are accustomed to like dish soap, towels in the kitchen. However, this is just a minor complaint and didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Gerardo (8/5): - We were a group of 8. Ranging from adults/teens 30-14. We had a great time. We spent 6 days 5 nights. I’ll give pros first. The place is big, you have so many places to explore and there is a shuttle that gets you around. Plenty of pool space, the view are phenomenal. The “few” staff members that are present are extremely serviceable. They were friendly and went the extra mile. Food menu for breakfast was the same but very good! They changed it up for lunch and dinner but it was all really good. The rooms were nice and spacious and cleaned daily. Might add cool! We had a few nights were we played cards at the round tables.. which we bought cards located at the store on the property. Bartenders were awesome, and drinks were great. Beach is huge and you can walk a distance to get to various restaurants. Cons, the time we spent there, the rides and attractions shown were never turned on, so pictures are misleading. There were only limited staff as I mentioned. Which they were great but with the size of the place you would think they would have more servers/workers. Beach amenities do not exist. There is no drinks or service at the beach. But we mostly bought from the mini market stores which were close by. Lastly there was not attraction to this place, there were no shows or Zumba in pool type events. It was just a pretty quiet at your own pace All in all we enjoyed the views, pools, pool bars and the food. This place just lacked a few amenities. But all in all great
Celia Elaine (6/5): - I booked this property because of the areas for kids like ferris wheel and mary go round and other entertainment along with multiple dining options on campus in all inclusive…. the children attractions have not been functioning for last 5 years and only one place for food was kind of a bummer. also the pools need to be touched up missing tiles i got fiber glass in my foot from the pool… very beautiful view and we had a blast off campus but things we looked forward to experience while staying there was a let down. place has potential but need a revamp and remodel

Ryan (6/5): - I read the reviews before coming here and so we were not disappointed, we got what we expected. I would sum it up as you get what you pay for. We paid a really low amount and so I shouldn’t have really high expectations. I would say it used to be really nice when it was new, but they’ve let it go. The rooms are nice enough and comfortable but there are non functional carnival type things that are an eye sore unless they are going for the haunted vibe (an old Ferris wheel and a bumper car area and an ice cream store are just sitting there rusting and unused). The trolley pick up system is good though with all the hills. Beach is close and maybe because it was low season it was really quiet which we loved. Very family friendly so we didn’t have to worry about our 3 kids ruining someone’s honeymoon. Food was ok, nothing to rave about but I found something I liked every day. Was happy with the bar. Staff were friendly. They had a pack and play we were able to use. I messaged through Expedia and got no response. If you want to reach them I would use WhatsApp. The view I will say is gorgeous, what a wonderful location. The 2 infinity pools are nice and we would spend all day there. The kids pool was in need of repair and the hot tub did not work. Gym was pretty nice, had a decent amount of equipment for a resort. Overall, we made the most of it and got what we were expecting.

Also, they did not help with the bags at reception. The place was so bad, we did not even stay the night. I had to book at another hotel. When i went to return our keys, the staff member did not ask any questions, just took the keys.

Yael (4/5): - Let’s start with the good: Service was great, and views are gorgeous! My daughters (7 &4) truly enjoyed the 4 swimming pools and the beach is amazing! I would say 98% of guests at the hotel were local (from Costa Rica), which I enjoyed! AC in both rooms worked great, but other than that, rooms are dated. Beds were a bit hard and pillows too thick for my taste. (I asked for thinner pillows, but I was told they only have that kind). The worst part of our stay was the food. Every morning they served the same (which I wouldn’t necessarily mind if it was actually tasty). One morning not even the pancakes taste good. Afternoon snacks were also the same every day. Burgers made to request were not good. We ended up eating most of our meals outside the hotel. I would strongly encourage you to not pay for the all inclusive option. Either get a room with a kitchen, or eat at all the other local restaurants by the beach, which were great!
Christina A (6/5): - The staff were very nice and friendly. The area was of where the hotel was located was fairly convenient. Views of land and beach/sunset were outstanding! Resort is not very updated (hot tub didnt work, not wheelchair accessible) and they didnt have any guest engagement activities. Hotel has outdated carnival rides (was not in use during my stay) and also has a night club (which im assuming most guest did not know about as no one was there during open hours (weekend from 10pm-1am). This resort was stated to have a number of restaurants however, during my stay i was informed there was a buffet(food was hit or miss for lunch/dinner), one include restaurant (was informed of different restrictions-for adults only/for couples only-so i didnt access this restaurant) and one on the beach restaurant that was not included in all inclusive package. There was a taco stand by beach (also not include) was open only 1-2 days out of my 7 day stay.
Zoe (2/5): - We left the property early due to the fleas in the room and raccoons in the walls. Staff were nice but the facilities were not properly kept. Ants in the bedding. A headboard was nailed to the wall to cover up a hole in the wall, which we noticed once the raccoons got in. A transformer blew and we didn’t have power for a day. We left early and tried getting money back for days not spent. Management was extremely unresponsive and hung up on us when we asked to speak to someone regarding the issue. We are a Best Western type of family, not used to anything fancy. But this stay was a health concern. Do not recommend staying here.

However, the property itself is quite run down and could really benefit from some maintenance and general upkeep. One issue we noticed was trash left near the pool area, which could easily attract ants and other pests. With a little more attention to cleanliness and care, this place could be truly great.
Shalashya (4/5): - I want to start off by saying that the property is beautiful. However I personally would not be coming back. The facility claims that they offer airport transportation which is not true, coming is free and in order for you to not have to pay $60 to return you have to book 3 separate land excursions. The excursions are for 3 different days not 3 different activities within a day. The property also claims to have multiple restaurants on site which is also not true they have 2. I paid for an all inclusive package and I simply feel like I was bamboozled on top of the fact that the liquor/drinks at the bars are watered down or just a small selection overall. If you plan on coming to Costa Rica to relax I personally wouldn’t recommend this “ resort”.

Matthew mckinnon (8/5): - The property VERY steep a shuttle is always running It's older so don't expect la dee da decadence but has lots of character, good landscaping, gorgeous views, lovely staff and 5 different pools (two infinity) one which is a swim up bar. And not a hot tub but a cold tub (and you will need it sometimes) it's a very hot area and Costa Rica is known for its micro climates. If you opt for the lovers suite you can get breakfast in bed and have access to multiple restaurants that you need to reserve via WhatsApp. And some places are only open on certain days as well. (one of which is beach side) speaking of wifi I could only get it to work at the main restaurant and spotty in my room. Maybe opt for a $30 e sim card like my girlfriend did she had no issues. There can be a language barrier with some staff but there is always someone around with pretty good English to translate and all the staff do try thier best. Food is very authentic. Water is clean and safe for drinking. At first we thought that we didn't get a lot of options but we found out throughout the week that that's Costa Rica and they seem to eat a lot of the same stuff. Not too worry the food was still quite tasty but you may want to venture off the resort to one of the surrounding restaurants for something else. There is also a great pizza place a bit inside the town. The town is small and sleepy with lots of quiet quaint hotels and very safe.The beach is gorgeous and the excursions are excellent see Javier or Ignasias
Angie (2/5): - Property has false advertisement on the Expedia page. Rooms do not have Wi-Fi, I paid for ocean view and had an extremely restricted view. Towels were dirty, room AC didn’t work, and still fighting to get a refund as I had to leave after 1 night of my 5 night stay. Had to pay to change my flight as well, could not stay at the property.
Theresa (4/5): - The view was a 10. The shuttle was great throughout the property as it has very steep hills. The beach was awesome as well as the pools. The food was a 2. There was only 1 restaurant open while we were there and there was not a variety. There was no entertainment. The employees could have been friendlier. Typically at an all inclusive everyone is friendly and accommodating. Not so much here.

I never complain about food and drinks but this really was the worst I’ve ever had. 1 very limited buffet. The restaurant wasn’t open our first two nights and finally was open our third night. We were seated and told it was also a buffet. It was a tiny buffet with desert from that days lunch in the other buffet. The drinks were very limited as well.

Ginger (4/5): Hard to work with Would Not Stay Again - The view was lovely and the inclusive food and drink were nice touches, but overall, the stay was disappointing. Key issues: • No in-room WiFi – Only available in the outdoor, non-air-conditioned common area (also the restaurant). Not disclosed in listing. • Extremely hilly property – Shuttle rarely ran; we had to walk steep hills in 95° heat daily. We saw an older man nearly fall walking downhill. • Limited dining – Only one restaurant open (not the 2–3 advertised). Buffet was hit or miss. • Airport shuttle misleading – Only picks up from the airport. Return trip costs extra via cab. • Poor local food options – Walkable restaurants nearby, but none were great. • No laundry room – Maid helped us with laundry, but no facilities or heads-up beforehand. • Delux King layout is odd – Two-story unit requires going outside to access upper level. Only one key given at check-in. • Wildlife concerns – You have to lock the door between levels to keep raccoons out. • Staff just okay – Polite but not proactive. Javier, the VIP host, was helpful and friendly. Had we known all this, we would have booked elsewhere.
Sergei (4/5): - Very old, like 70s and no renovation. Many thing are broken. Some motel 6 looks better and we had the most expensive room there. In general, another experience but I would not recommend
Miloni (4/5): - Our room was disgusting there were so many bugs in it and a dead moth right on the kitchen counter after we had to wait an hour for them to clean the room. We didn’t mind that but to walk into a dirty room after waiting to clean it is crazy. The beach bar and other facilities like the carousel and ferris wheel were shut on weekdays. This was extremely frustrating for the beach bar since that was one of the reasons we booked and that was not specified. The towel bar and front desk shut very early. We would need help and no one would answer the front desk phone even during their operating hours. There is only wifi in the main area and not in any of the rooms. This was insane because we would need wifi for directions or other reasons. We even had signal by the beach but there was absolutely none in our rooms which was so inconvenient.

Karol Johanna Campoverde (2/5): - Not as described in the website, very limited buffet items, the snacks were the same everyday. At the time of the check in no information was given about the property, events or how to even get to our room. We didn’t feel welcome at all.
Candice (8/5): - The property was beautiful however there is only Wi-Fi in the main lobby and not in the rooms. Parking is also a bit inconvenient because it’s so far from the rooms. A lot of people had to walk up a very steep hill to get to the main lobby where all the food and the pools were. overall it was a good stay.
Christina Marie (4/5): - First I would like to say the property is very nice but it’s not flat . They do provide transportation around the property which is nice . The restaurant staff was very nice too they were very accommodating and had drinks ready and the Restaurant manager brought my food to my room even though they don’t do room service I tried to call ahead to set up transportation from the airport and vice versa back to the airport because they said they offered it . No one answered my calls and I was already in the country so fees were added to my cell phone bill. I had to pay $120 in total for transportation for a 20 minute right to and from the airport which was very disappointing.

Nicole (6/5): - If you've read any reviews from this property, they are accurate. For the one night stay I needed, it was fine. However I would avoid any length of stay here, as it is not the most optimal of all inclusive locations.
Tracy (6/5): - Costa Rica is amazing, and this is a Costa Rica is amazing, and this is an affordable All inclusive. Food selection was very limited, there was no wait staff at the chairs around the pool. We were VIP guests and we were able to eat in the one nicer restaurant they have, otherwise the food selection would’ve been very disappointing. The pools are beautiful, our room had a bay view, which I highly recommend, the maids were good about keeping the rooms clean. The nicest part was that they weren’t overly crowded, so we were always able to get a seat at one of the pools.
Kevin (10/5): - This hotel is great. All inclusive is awesome and the views are breathtaking. The staff is wonderful. The food is great. There is a big hill from the main lobby, pools, and food down to the rooms and the beach itself but there is a little shuttle that circles around to the stops every 5-10 minutes. The beach is accessible by foot. The only drawback is that there is no WiFi in the rooms themselves. The WiFi is only available in the common areas (front desk/pools/food) Otherwise it’s a very comfortable place to spend a few days.
Nancy (10/5): - This is the sixth time we have stayed at Condovac. If you are looking for an economical place to stay in a stunning location this may be a property worth considering. The all-inclusive food is healthy Costa Rican-style fare (if you want a more North American buffet, you'd be better off at the Riu). The beach is amazing and we often snorkel at the south end. We always feel safe in Playa Hermosa and appreciate that it's only a half-hour drive from the airport in Liberia.
frank (6/5): - Place is in a great location but the resort itself is a bit neglected.shame of it is workers doing there job but it seems owner/management aren’t giving them the tools to be successful.example the chairs around the pool are so worn and old there falling apart.plus they didn’t have enough chairs for the amount of people around the pool area.the place could use something simple as a paint job would go a long way.

Jacob (2/5): - We went there to celebrate my 50th birthday and were very disappointed. The staff was not friendly, the rooms were small and not at all like they were advertised. They said full bar in room - nope 1 beer and no waters. Food options were never changed out and the food from day before seemed to be what they served. Could have ice cream only at 1:00 pm. States coffee shop and deli and there was not, no waterslide as advertised. It was very disappointing for my big celebration.
April D (2/5): - Miserable all inclusive hotel. Same food day in and day out for 10 days! Falling apart. No hot water ,no running water 1 day. Dirty. Website is pure false advertisement. My jacuzzi tub in my room had no hot water and took over 4 hours to fill up and was nothing like what was on the pictures. The hot tub by the pools was cold. I asked three different staff members for the hamburger that is playing in the video at the front , they all laughed and said that’s just marketing. No place to lounge by the pool since there is so few chairs . No cabanas.i was Told my mini fridge would be restocked , arrived had two waters. When requested was told it’s 2 waters for every 2 days !! So 1/2 a bottle of water a day. And treated so rude when you ask for more. Gym has a lot of equipment, but lots is broken including the windows, and the supposed trainer or gym rep was rude and wouldn’t let you use equipment when it clearly was available. No wifi in your room or the gym and barely enough in the cafeteria to communicate on what’s app to set your excursions and ride back to the airport which you will have to pay for no matter how many excursions you book !!
Stefon (8/5): - We stayed for 5 nights. The first night - Tuesday February 25th- we left our swim clothes out on the chairs of our porch to dry. I woke up early and was getting some work done on my computer, I watched from my window as a landscaping male employee walked pass our porch where our swim clothes were drying, picked up my husbands swim trunks and walked off with it. I went out shortly after to get the rest of our stuff and he said good morning to me like he didn’t just steal from us. I didn’t address it as it was our first night and didn’t know if there was be retaliation. Then on Thursday my husband thought it would be okay if he left his shorts out for 2 hours in the middle of the day as we were in the room but those shorts went missing as well but our towels were still there. Didn’t see anyone this time but I know it was probably taken by the same man especially as it’s not windy here at all. If you’re staying here don’t leave stuff out on the porch. Aside from the landscaping employees, other employees were nice- housekeeping, catering and front desk were good. Food was about the same daily. We ended up eating out at other restaurants on the beach. No live music or entertainment during our 6 days. Place was a little ran down needs some repairs. Bumper cars didn’t work. No one wants to give you change so walk with your own. I wouldn’t stay again solely because of the stealing.
Christopher (2/5): Spend your money anywhere else - So old and outdated. The video and website is pure false advertisement . I paid for all inclusive , arrived at 7am after flying all night and couldn’t have food or use the pool till noon unless I paid extra for those 5 hours. When I finally got my room the AC was not working. After going back up the hill of death, to request maintenance, then back down only to have the maintenance guy say it was fine even though it was not blowing cold air at all. Back to the top to ask for a new room where the front desk girl was super rude and told me it’s working you don’t need a new room . I insisted and she slammed the keys on the counter. Only to end up with ants in my bed . Zero maid service even when requested. No water in the mini fridge, never even offered to restock. No wifi in the rooms and barely worked in the so called restaurant, which is literally like a school cafeteria with maybe 5 options. Snack bar was hot dogs , fries and chips every single day . What you saw for dinner you would have as luck the next day. Breakfast was the same every single day for 7 days. Advertised arcade game room-nope, billiards-nope, cafe- 3 coffee pots, deli- toast and rolls. Restaurant #2 never open the whole time I was there. Coffee machine in the room had to be taken off the desk and put on the floor to plug in. No free shuttles anywhere . Pool tiles coming off the bottom of the pool. 21 places to sit by the pools with at least 100 ppl in the pool area ! Even the locals felt bad for me. Dirty
Anne (4/5): - I wouldn’t suggest that anyone Black comes here. As the only black people staying on the property for the first couple of days, the racism was palpable. The constant “Negrita, Negra,” from staff and noises from other guests became the soundtrack of the trip. Check in was smooth and some of the staff were accommodating. Our rooms were okay until two nights before we left when water started pooling in the ceiling above the bed and dripped on and off. When I mentioned that someone can come into the room while we’re out to fix it, I was told that they would be sending someone. When we came back and asked the other worker on shift if someone checked the room, they asked me to check if the work was done and if not to message the front desk. Then the front desk asked one of the staff to go with us and check but he seemed uninterested. When we got to the room we saw that all that was done was that the bed was moved. Later that day the pool of water in the ceiling shifted until it popped before we left and fell onto the floor like a shower. The massage staff and tour agent were professional.
marc (4/5): - This place has its ups and downs. Up would be the view. Absolutely stunning. Downside unclean pools, they get cleaned once in the morning but being on the hill they get wind gusts that fill half the pool with bugs and palm leaves. Up the staff is nice Down. No wifi in the room Up foods okay Down no variation in the buffet. Also unrip pineapple is server which causes diarea. We also had no water in our room after eating said pineapple so no flushing :( The parking is at the bottom of a massive hill they do have trucks that pick up ever 15 minutes and drop you off. All inclusive does not mean the mini fridge which has 2 beers 2 waters and a bottle of wine. They have roughly 200 guests when we were here... and 20 patio chairs. Not alot of sunbathing space and people hold chairs for hours without sitting at them. Our booked dinner was pretty good and we also did massages down by the beach and those were incredible. Highly recommend. Overall 2/5 for all inclusives i have stayed at.

Samuel (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Condovac. We traveled with teens and little kids. The food was wonderful, lots to choose from. The kids enjoyed the fresh fruit and endless pina coladas. The location itself is wonderful but you need to take the shuttle if you want to go from the ocean to the lobby/restaurant. It's pretty hard to get around if you have a baby in a stroller. You have to climb the big hill or grab the shuttle which means folding the stroller and holding the baby. It's quit difficult if you're by yourself. We had a double stroller and had to lug it up and down the hill a few times. The property itself is wonderful but not the most ideal with squirmy toddlers that you have to protect from falling in the pool or off of the viewing platform. The platform is super cool but has no walls so you have to watch the little kids. Overall id rate it an 8 just because of the no wifi in rooms and less accessibility with little kids.

Danielle (4/5): - The front desk staff were not helpful. Asking for help with luggage for my 80 year old mother in law... Nope they don't help. Aside from breakfast the food is the worst I have ever had. They served pasta with chopped up deli meats, there was a few spiders in the carafe of rice and the food was cold. Selection is extremely limited, and the menu did not vary. We only ate 1 lunch and no dinners at the hotel - we paid and ate elsewhere. The rooms were clean and spacious. The only issue for 3 nights in a row is the neighbours dog barked and would not stop. It woke me up after 11pm and the barking started again the next morning at 7am. Repeated messages to the front desk and nothing changed and no room changes were offered. Months ago reviews noted no room wifi. They said it was fixed. Please know this is untrue and there is still only wifi in the hotel lobby.

I highly recommend to go take a tour also with Samuel driver and tour guide with Daniel with Costa Rica unique tours. Oh and the views and drinks are amazing!! Pura Vida

Natalia (6/5): Go somewhere else if possible - The room was really nice, but the food was awful. If you stay here, I definitely recommend not getting the all inclusive option. The room has a fridge and kitchen, you can get your own food and bring it to the resort. The check-in process was slow and painful. It took over an hour to check in even though there was only one person in front of us. The airport transport is misleading. It's only free to get to the resort. You have to arrange your own transportation to go to the airport. It cost us over $60. The check-in attendant chuckled under his breath when I was confused, like this happens all the time with other guests. I would avoid and go somewhere else. Not worth the price.
