Guest Reviews
- sienloong (6/5): Lokasi Bagos - The Batik Medan is nice place to stay 1-2nts. But the ‘Economy’ cabin is without windows. So room air a bit stale. Breakfast was cold without warmers and flies zooming. Price is good but need improve on quality to be better. Nevertheless. Kudos to Hskp staff ARMUDA,he keep our room clean. Terima kasih bynk Pak
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful stay here, hope to stay again. Wonderful experience there. Hope can have better breakfast choices. Hope can have better shower gel and replenishment done everyday.
- therealchrisgray (10/5): Nice boutique hotel - Rooms were clean and comfortable, food was good, location was not bad, staff very friendly and helpful. It's a fairly new place, no maintenance issues. There is also a high-end batik store on the ground floor, too rich for our tastes!
- Derrick (10/5): - overall was fine. will consider to stay again in future.
- Colhicks (2/5): Buruk - I came back here to stay after a gap of 2 years and was looking forward to enjoying myself again but the hotel is no longer the same, the Night Manager in particular was rude and disrespectful to me and my wife so I will never come back again. The staff were nice but the attitude of the management was too rude for me to consider it again.
- adehartanti (2/5): Bad experience - Luckily we stayed only 1 night. And the experience is already bad.
We arrive at 9pm at night. There was no problem drg check in.
The room is very small, no windows, and smells like smoking room even they said it is a non smoking room. We accepted the room since it was late already and we were tired.
The drainage of the bathroom is really bad. The water comes out to the room floor then we have to dry it with towel before sleep.
The breakfast is not good. Not many varieties and the taste is just ok, not good. The fee for extra breakfast is overpriced, 70k/pax with that limited and non tasty food.
The night before, we stayed in other hotel in the city centre with a lower price and much better experience that is why I say this hotel is a rip off. The room in the other one is bigger, the location is better, the breakfast is nicer and more variety, also the extra breakfast costs only 30k/pax.
To make everything worse, during the check out the give us an unpleasant experience. The receptionist said there is yellow dirt on the pillow cases. I didn't use any cream or anything that will stain the fabric. The housekeeper brought down the pillow cases and the bed sheet. They showed us the stains. It is actually the stains that seems there for a long time from an old fabric. It has nothing to do with us. We argue with the receptionist and they accepted that it was not our fault without even saying SORRY.
Please don't stay here.
- Din (8/5): - Batik Hotel offers a good basic facilities for working trip stop over. Only the Batik price at the store/boutique is very pricey.
- Richard (4/5): - Check in hotel without window ,
request for window have to pay extra RP200,000 per room for 2 night
we pay RP400,000.
1) check in no window
2) move to window room , Air condition not working move again.
3) At last .
- 516gayatria (8/5): Minimalist Hotel on Good Location - For business and leisure trip, we can stay at this minimalist hotel with good food and beverage for breakfast. Although the room space is not large but we still can enjoy the facility of salon and spa for ladies near reception area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): New with friendly staff - Smallish Room but suited what needed very helpful in getting driver for Latina trip
- Raymond (4/5): 1/2 a ⭐️ - What is there to say? I hated it
- Sunil (6/5): Not Recommended - Absolutely Poor WIFI and Lazy Night Shift front desk staff. Approached front desk and found him sleeping and asked to look into the wifi issues as it's not connecting throughout the whole night. Gave unacceptable excuses such as, no technician and only available at 10.00am. Assured me that he will inform morning shift to follow up and upon checking with front desk, No communication took place. Insisted to change room. Found wifi is intermittently connecting. What a Disaster.
- Kelvin (10/5): Worth for money - Everything is good just the bad part is wall soundproof need improvement
- Abdulkadir (4/5): Small rooms and bad bathroom - I booked one night because I wasn’t sure the condition of the hotel and that thinking paid off for me. First the hotel is new and clean the problem was the room the room was so small you can only get to the bed on one side! Second problem is the bathroom as soon as you take shower you see the water running to bed because the shower has zero gab to hold water for those reasons I decided to check out next morning.
Having said that, the staff were good and helpful, it’s breakfast also good overall the hotel is New and has mini refrigerator and tea what kills the deal is the rooms and bathroom condition.
- Tah (8/5): Clean and nice. Easy to Grabcar from there to any - Loved it. The only issue was aircon was a bit slow. Other than that great hotel and great staff.
- syafriemuhammad (8/5): Economical but decent. - Economical does not mean cheap, and of course, there are things that are less than what we expect, even though our needs are met. Hotel Batik gives, at least, what we need. Comfortable rooms, strategic location and friendly staff at economical rates. The annoying little thing about this hotel is that its rooms are less soundproof, so sometimes the sound from the hall or other room can be heard from your room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - came to this hotel with my friend for a 3D2N stay in medan.
- slnurdin (2/5): not recommended - This is my first experience staying at hotel batik, medan. The room is very small, not recommended to share room as there is no space to move. I have booked business room, which should have window, but the window is like 7 cm wide and the view is another wall. Be careful when using bathroom, drainage is bad and it takes long time until water set aside. variety of food is very limited and staff very slow to refill food. also there is this rules that only allowed you to keep bagagge at hotel until 2 pm and above it you will be charged 50 % room price. this rules is not written in their hotel policy when i booked in traveloka. As my flight is at night, i tried to asked staff to keep my lugagge until 5 pm, but staff is not helpful at all. never had experience and find this rules at others hotel in indonesia before. totally not recommended if you have night or late flight.
- erashmahmud (8/5): Friendly staffs, clean and excellent room service - The hotel is excellent value for price. We stayed there for 4 nights and during our stay we found the staffs to be polite and helpful, room service was good. And the place was clean with proper amenities.
If you are visiting Medan for the first time, the location of the hotel is nearby to the malls, eatery places. Uber is excellent for moving around in Uber and I found most of the places back to hotel was very reasonable price in Uber.
The hotel own food for breakfast was little choices of items but enough for us.
I would totally recommend this place if you are visiting Medan for a trip and want to stay at a place which is clean, nice and comfortable yet within your budget.
- 976sabiner (6/5): Ok budget hotel - This is an average budget hotel. The room we had was quite small with no window but comfortable enough.
On the downside the hotel is quite a walk from the centre, which is not necessarily a nice experience at night. Also, we had a room on the second floor near the elevator and it was quite difficult to sleep due to the sounds from the reception area, but maybe that was specific for the room.
- sienloong (6/5): Good economical Hotel near Ucok durian - The hotel was hidden away off main road and quite near Ucok and Sibolang durian. The 1st room they gave me aircon was broken on 3rd floor but later changed me to 7th flr with Daikin A/C very 😊 Water 💦 drained slowly in the bathroom..But great value not too far fm town.
- kco897 (8/5): Cheap Affordable. - This is cheap. But it's clean and provide hot water for shower. It is cozy for that price. Staff are helpful. They also provided simple breakfast but taste good.
the only thing i would like to complain is that the bed is soft for me (which might be nice for others, and the bathroom will be ponding after your shower.
- astriesaa2016 (6/5): Average B&B Hotel - Affordable price and the rooms pretty clean, it got hot water, air conditioner, and fridge. But it can improve the menu on breakfast. Hope the hotel management can also fix the bed problem, it is not very comfortable, my aunt is sinking and had a trouble sleeping during our stay.
But overall, it's pretty cozy hotel
- emibakar (4/5): Good for 1 Night Stay Only - Room 303
I stayed here for 3 nights... but I think I would only stay for 1 night only.
There are good and bad things about this hotel. Let me start with the good one first.
GOOD
- Clean room, bed, pillow, towel and shower.
- Mini Bar available in my room
- Nice and tasty breakfast, every morning serve fruits, bread, coffee and tea with different main meal daily (1st morning: Chicken soup noodle, eggs cook with chili. 2nd morning: lontong, tempe and vegetable. 3rd morning: Fried noodle, plain rice and tempe)
BAD
- small no window room.
- toilet flooded with water after I finish my shower.
- I requested for a room change, maybe a room with window or a better shower, but there is no room available. So I had to stayed in the sama room for the whole 3 nights.
To solve the toilet and shower issue i requested for extra bath mat, so i have wet and dry bath mat. So it can stop the water from overflowing from the shower to the toilet.
- Mustaphasuniverse (6/5): Cheap and Clean - The hotel was pretty clean and cheap, the staffs were nice. Their food was also delicious, I would recommend trying their Nasi Goreng, which very cheap too. My experience was pretty good here except that the wooden frame of my bed was broken in the middle, I think the hotel management should have fixed that before letting anyone in the room, also the rooms weren't really sound proof because I could hear clearly every step out of the room and the coughing of the guest in the next room, the shower floor needs to be lower than the rest of the bathroom floor to avoid getting water everywhere in the bathroom. After all it was all good.
- Hendra (6/5): - Panas
- Verified traveler (8/5): nit bad - kesan saya hotelnya lumayan, cuma sayangnya AC kurang dingin
- Shah_jeex (8/5): Good value for money - Good breakfast, spacious room with TV - The hotel has a very nice Batik theme which makes it distinct. the room was clean nad spacious. The staff are pleasant. The AC was not strong enough even at the highest setting, and could do with servicing.
- chengdoll (10/5): get your luxurious spa experience here! - i stay 2 night here and its really comfortable and nice hotel to stay. the room is clean, nice and the bed is comfortable. there's mini fridge and water boiler, so u can have coffee/tea at night or cold drinks at noon. very convenient. the customer service is superb and the staff very helpful. the main important thing us, they have their in house spa n massage centre. interior is luxurios as well as the treatment with very very affordable price! i get the half day treatment package for only rp800000.(because if u stay at the hotel, u got 30% off). its a boutique hotel with a five star experience. highly recommended. one more thing, easy access to anywhere!
- airinim2018 (6/5): Nice cosy small hotel - i like boutique hotels. This is one of them. Nice place, ample parking space, rooms are acceptably ok. Friendly service. Nice breakfast. We even taken dinner there too.
But i do want to highlight to Management that room cleanliness should be seriously taken into consideration. We found condoms ( a few even) here and there -- makes me wonder what else wasn't clean in this room.
- ajay (8/5): Good hotel out side city - Staff good . Service Good .highgnic
Valu for money
- Chinws2108 (4/5): Realtively Cheap and Clean hotel for budget travellers - I booked my room thru' Agoda's website and stayed overnight at the hotel on 18 Feb 2017. Generally the hotel is relatively clean, cheap although location isn't really that strategic. However, my somewhat dissatisfaction from my stay in the hotel was the fact that the room that I booked, a Superior room, is located on the top most floor, the 7th floor and the hotel elevators only goes up to the 6th floor. Thus the need to walk up an additional flight of stairs to get to the room and down to the elevator. Other that that, as it is a budget hotel ,so don't expect any facilities. Besides that please do not expect a sumptuous breakfast (included with the hotel room) in the morning as the breakfast menu is extremely basic Indonesian breakfast (fried noodles, fried rice with coffee and an extremely diluted orange juice).
Oh and I do have one good point to say about this hotel and that is if you are looking at buying batik clothing while in Indonesia, look no further than right next door to the hotel as a batik shop is located right next door and can be access directly thru' a door from the hotel reception. .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean hotel with just appropriate amenities - Staff were really friendly and helpful.
- Hazellejade (6/5): For a night only - Just a bed and shower room with breakfast. Okay for a night stay. Hotel is near famous durian place that opens 24hours.
I didn't see hand soap and hand towel, hair dryer (upon request), no fridge, wifi in room is slow. If you are into details then look elsewhere.
- 990tiaraf (8/5): Very good services! - I went up to Medan several times this year for taking interview. I choose this hotel because of some very good reviews from travel app. Various type of breakfast, very clean and also good services with affordable price. This hotel also close to another place such as mall or food centre.
- atikarusyk (8/5): Simple nice budget hotel - They have affordable publish rate, but u can even find it cheaper by booking from any travel application. So clean. Not really large, well it s typically budget hotel u cant expect more. But, I love the room food service. The price written are all tax n service included. Very make sense. Love it.
Small restaurant but again, clean. The locations, is in the side of street where u can find ojek or taxi easily.
- Philip P Muthu (4/5): Lousy! - I was given a economy room with no windows. Terrible. It's like staying in a coffin. Can't imagine. Expedia should have warn the guest in regards to the room when a booking is done. I spoke to the duty manager and requested him to change the room with a window. They oblige and was given, after sometimes later. The toilet bowl is dirty with brown stains. The room is very small. Hardly can move around. Overall, I will not recommend to my friends.
- James (8/5): Value for money - Restaurant serve very nice Indonesian food, friendly and helpful staff.
