• James (9/5): We stayed here 4 times totalling 11 days during our 63 day trip to India, it was the best out of 13 - The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The breakfast is good with a wide choice. The restaurant also serves excellent lunches and dinners. I highly recommend it. The location is probably the only negative, although Lalbagh Botanical gardens is inly a 15 minute walk away. Also taxis etc. are relatively inexpensive in Bangalore, so location is not really a big issue.

• Seema (5/5): Passable - The restaurant food is passable. The room is serviced daily and they make the bed and change linen but you have to ask for the soap etc to be replaced everyday. Iron box and ironing board are available on request but they take it away when another guest asks for it and u have to request it again if needed. The property has a lift but it is slow and the workers take it so it does not stop on some floors sometimes. There is a flight of steps to reach the lobby from the road so not accessible for wheelchair bound or those with difficulty climbing stairs. They only give one key card for the rooms even if there are more than one guest. Not manu auto drivers or uber drivers know of the property so you get ‘taken for a ride’ if u do not knpw the roads

The breakfast spread was good and sufficient. The restaurant food was much better than I had expected and highly enjoyable. Very cosy stay and helpful and happy staff! Couldn't get any better.

The quality of food and service in the dining room was exceptional. The room was adequate size with a delightful balcony to sit on. The location for us really worked, being close to the botanical gardens and also very traditional neighborhood. Overall the staff offer a professional standard of service. We had problems with our internet access but this might have been due to us having Apple electronics

Short tuktuk ride to Cubbon gardens and MG Road. Enjoyed the balcony: entertained by monkeys in the morning and bats in the evening. WiFi not terribly reliable but not a problem for us.

• James (10/5): Great place, but there is no garden if you are expecting one. - The room is extremely comfortable. I had a balcony with a small tree growing on it. I was able to watch some English language movies on the TV. The room is spacious and well equipped. While I would highly recommend the property, I was expecting the garden view room to actually have a garden to view. There is no garden. On the balcony, there is a 1 M square area of grass with a small tree growing on it. This is what the property considers a garden. That said, the tree is quite nice and there are some trees across the street that serve as a nice backdrop. But it is not a garden. So if you're expecting to sit out on your balcony looking at a garden, it won't happen. The other downside of sitting outside on your balcony, is that you are not too far away from a very busy street and the air is quite polluted. If you stay in your room, everything is great, but you might not want to go out there and sit in the bad air.

• Manohar (8/5): High Quality Boutique Stay near Lalbagh Botanical Garden - The staff was courteous and responsive. Loved the room and the aesthetics of the common area. A small wash area and a countertop for handling food or the morning coffee was a refreshing. Space was another value-add, the room had enough space for two people to co-exist comfortably. Wish the wifi connectivity was better - needed to go through some hoops to set it up - however, once setup, it was dependable. The room's keycard did pose some trouble once in a while - minor inconvenience though.

Rooms are very well designed. The balcony is very relaxing to sit in. Hot water you get all the time. Some beds might require a little reinforcement as they have started to sag in the middle. The AC vents might need to be cleaned as air is not flowing well through them.

The AC was very powerful, actually had it turn it off sometimes because the room got too cold! Food was very good, both at breakfast and dinner. The only thing to note as a UK tourist is where I don't speak Hindi/Kannada, it is not easy to get dropped back to if you can't get an Uber, as taxi drivers don't know where it is, so a couple of times I would get dropped at Lal Bagh and walk from there.
