- Carrie-Anne Laurey (8/5): - First arrived at the property late so receptionists had left but they sent all check in info by whatsapp and email which was really useful.
Got to the room and we were disappointed as it was very small for a 10 night stay. Messaged consierge who were more than happy to swap us the next day and did so very smoothly.
The new studio room was on the ground floor and had everything we needed. Large bathroom, lots of storage space, huge tv with smart apps, big fridge freezer.
Room was always cleaned at our convenience and the housekeeping made a cute birthday cake prop out of the towels when they realised it was my birthday. Very sweet.
Housekeeping did our laundry for 200 pesos which we felt was reasonable.
Outside the gate is not tended to by the property, rubbish and dog crap is left there. Bikes that you can hire are quite old and rusty, better to look around and get better bikes. We hired a scooter from the locally owned business just across from the apartments.
Think it is very important to mention the pool displayed as the main imagine is not at the apartments it is at the Los Amigos complex around 5 minutes walk.
Gym was small but did the job, was clean. Didn't have anywhere for you to fill or get water before 8.30am.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly and approachable and always keen to help. We were glad we stayed in La Veleta for a more authentic experience.
Would definitely recommend staying at Condos Los Amigos, in the right room.
- James (10/5): Lovely hotel with great staff! - Beautiful, clean rooms with a very helpful staff with great English. Nice roof-top pool and great place to watch the sunsets!
- Matthew (4/5): - The communication with their representative was terrible. The apartment was not at the address on our booking. When it became apparent that the apartment door did not lock, we had to fight to have it fixed. And the safe that their representative advised us to use to store our laptops etc in lieu of a lockable door, was not fastened down. We pointed that and handed it to him, and requested another room, but were told no. Luckily the maintenance person who happened to be in the building was kind enough to stay later than the end of his shift and fix the door so that we could have some security in the apartment.
- TIXIAN (10/5): - Lovely place. The room has refrigerator and cooking utensils!
- erin (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay, such a beautiful place and so well situated to amenities, restaurants and town. Would absolutely stay here again
- Bianca (10/5): - Loved our stay here! They had a gym and spa that was available to us, the rooftop pool was awesome, and the area was perfect. Our room had a retractable skylight, a small kitchen and they stocked our fridge with water. We were so happy with our stay. The only negative was the pillows were really hard and uncomfy, but besides that I have nothing but good things to say, it was clean, a big beautiful window for a wall with sliding doors. It’s a great hotel!
- Brianah (8/5): Beautiful condos in the middle of no where - Enjoyed the deluxe suite with kitchenette , it’s was basically a 1bd apt. I love that Los Amigos rooms are well equipped from kitchen utensils , cleaning products, applicances and tools to cook a meal , little details that most hotels in Playa /Tulum forget. WiFi was great and balcony had great view of jungle. Only thing I didn’t like was the location, extremely hard to find at night , street is bumpy dirt road.
Receptionist was nice & polite but seems to be the other person available to answer questions from 9am-8pm. After that you fend for yourself, no security guard. However , I would book this suite for longer stays , not just a night visit. 4 out of 5 stars
- nicholas (2/5): - If you book a room with Los Amigos, The day before your flight they will email you saying you have been selected for a free upgrade. They send you a different address to their other location, once you get there the concierge will greet you and show you to your room, except this room is much smaller than the room your probably booked online. If you ask why they moved you hotels for a “free upgrade” without your permission they won’t give you a straight answer.. they just try to talk your ear off about the spa and tell you how great it is. They might even give you “free spa time” that you can’t even use because the front desk ladies at the spa will lie you and say they are full… When I asked the concierge to please move us to a room that was the same size as the one I booked online she lied to me and said they are all “studio sized rooms” which I found out from another resident that was a lie… when I confronted her about what she told me she said, oh those rooms are for people who live here… the hotel room we had was very nice, if you’re okay with a rock hard bed, a lot of rules, taking cold showers and listening to your upstairs neighbors stomp around on the hollow floor above the whole time you stay here. I will say that the property is very nice and very clean. But I would recommend staying somewhere else to avoid the headache on your vacation because they’re are thousands of other beautiful resorts at and around tulum that you could stay at for the same price or cheaper.
- Michael (8/5): Los Amigos Tulum - Los Amigos Tulum is very comfortable. It is quite new and therefore well adorned and maintained - it is also a studio if that's what you are into. Very clean and incredibly friendly staff. The only downside is the location - it's really far from the beach and a good 20min walk to downtown Tulum.
- Marcia (8/5): - This was a very comfortable place to stay and great location for exploring the area. Main highway is two blocks away, beach and ruins are about 15 minutes. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with parking on the street.
- Michelle (10/5): - I absolutly love staying with Los Amigos! All the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Always a smile on their faces😃 rooms are cleaned daily and everything is very clean and modern.
The rooftop pools are perfect for watching the sun melt away from Mayan sky.
Special thank you to Valaria for being such a beautiful human and for helping me with anything I needed. Nothing was ever a problem.
- JENNEL (2/5): Not a good experience - It’s the bare minimum. Nothing but dirt/trash and start dogs around
It’s not a hotel . You will have to drive from the location on the map to another property . I think they are trying to trick hotels.com
If you have an issue , no one will respond
The pool was refreshing. The cleanliness and decor , terrible
The Greeter is nice enough . Check in wasn’t too easy. $200 deposit for a 45 room , one night
- Michelle Claire (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here! Rooms where spacious and having a kitchen was great for cooking when we didn’t want to go out. Bed was super comfy and pillows where good. The rooftop pool was really lovely and always clean. Communications were print and alway super helpful. I felt safe here as there are cameras outside and around the property. The safe in the room was useful too.
Thank you
- Hernan (6/5): - I'm doing this review in all fairness based on the fact that We did NOT stay after getting there and having almost a mission impossible to navigate on the nearest streets to this property , anything close to the moon's craters is not an exageration .These guys need to do something about that issue swiftly
- Blaine (8/5): Great Value For The Money - The front desk was amazing, very warm and welcoming. The room was spacious with full size refrigerator to keep our stuff cold and offered Netflix and Youtube TV.
The pool was in the basement but the jacuzzi and excercise room was on the roof top.
The only thing that travellers need to be aware of is the name Ocean View in the title/name of the property. If your booking expecting an ocean view or the ocean close by then don't book this as there is no ocean and/no view of the ocean.
But if that's not a deal breaker for you then dollar for dollar it was the best place to stay in the Cancun area without robbing the bank to pay for it.
I'd stay here again and recommend it to my family and friends.
- Blaine (8/5): Great Stay, I'll Stay Again. - The hotel was good as we're the staff and amenities. I loved the upstairs roof top pool. I'd stay here again.
For those without transportation it might be more difficult to get to as it's not on the main streets of Tulum such as City Center or hotel district.
We loved the large fridge freezer and full kitchen amenities it offered you could make your own meals if you didn't want to eat at a restaurant.
Although there were several great restaurants within a few minute walking distance that offered fair prices and excellent food.
- Kamisha (2/5): - BEWARE ! Do not stay here. The hotel falsely advertising amenities that they don’t have. They have multiple properties so you might not have the
- Jessica (10/5): Best Tulum Studio - This place was lovely. This studio had everything I needed and more. It felt like my very studio apartment. There are stores within walking distance to get necessities and simple groceries. The greenery and garden was done very well. The pool was clean. I would stay here again. It was perfect and just what I needed. I liked how it was decorated. Simple and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The electricity went out. Then the water stopped working. The roads were terrible to drive on they were not paved at all. The wifi never worked. The pictures online do not match the property. They transferred me to a new hotel but didn’t tell me when check out was or how to get there.
- Hollie (10/5): Hidden Gem - Rented condo last minute when beach accommodation fell apart. We’re very happy w condo in town-clean,comfortable,secure. Staff was very friendly. Condo was modern with adequate kitchen, cold AC, comfortable bed and smart TV in living area. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shop and convenient store. Looking forward to returning soon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the concierge service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Calm hotel beautiful
- Intan (10/5): Love the star gazing room. - We love Los amigos. Convenient and down the street from one of my favorite bar in Tulum. I would definitely come back here again.
- Adan (8/5): Review - Great, safe place. Only compliant was they wanted us out immediately at check-out at 11am. I have a family with two kids and sometimes, I need a little extra time to get them ready to leave. Staff did not allow extra time because they "had other guests checking in". So we were forced to rush out of there.
- Bianca (10/5): Amazing condos in Tulum - Location was hard to find as the GPS took us to a different Los Amigos location. But the staff was able to give us directions. The Los Amigos Condo staff was very nice and held our luggage while we enjoyed the day prior to check in. The penthouse was clean and very spacious. It felt like home away from home. The tv's weren't working but that wasn't an issue as we used wifi to connect to streaming services. The property cats were an added plus 😊 Will definitely come back again in the future!
- Eddie (2/5): - They take forever to respond to any emails. They never pick up the phone when you call. Very unorganized and unprofessional.
- jers (8/5): - Beautiful pool, nice and clean suite and great staff. the surrounding area is still developing so be mindful not everything around the building will look as nice.
- Jason (6/5): - We stayed in the penthouse room. It was clean and spacious. It was our first time staying in tulum but our second location. We stayed at another hotel prior and water to see different parts of tulum.
Pros... like I said the place is clean and spacious. concrete floors, high ceilings a nice layout.
Cons.. it's far from everting and not the safest neighborhood (vibe). the water pressure kept going in and out and literally barely any hot water. Our room had a jacuzzi and we wanted to use it but it was pointless because it would of taken the duration of our entire stay to get it to fill up with hot water. The wifi was completely down. we couldn't get a signal what so ever (it could of been a fluke) No elevator so you will have to carry your bags up (not a big deal) but letting you know.
