• Michele (10/5): Gorgeous hotel with breathtaking views - This hotel was a marvelous surprise. I was afraid it will be too big, commercial and impersonal but it was so great and authentic. It’s absolutely beautiful, excellent food with a large variety, breathtaking views, very comfortable. We had a fantastic time.

Frühstück und Abendessen in großem, aber sehr angenehm gestalteten Restaurant, außerordentlich vielfältiges Angebot an frisch zubereiteten Speisen von hoher Qualität, kaum Wartezeiten. Zugewandtes, sehr freundliches Personal. Wenig Kapazitäten für Behandlungen im Spa.

• Gillian (9/5): A lovely hotel - perhaps better for couples or adults friends rather than families - Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing catering at dinner and breakfast. The lounge with drinks and snacks included was a welcome bonus too. We didn't use the nearby onsen nor the baths but they seemed very popular with other guests. We're travelling with our teenager and as she isn't as much into nature and local cuisine as we were, she struggled a bit. She ate maybe half a plate of food out of the tlrather expensive priced per head buffet, most of which was bread and butter! It would have been great to be able to pre-arrange simple food, eg regular steak or grilled chicken rather than the slivers that were part of the buffet. The snacks in the lounge were also definitely geared more towards adults than kids/teens. But it is a hotel for grown ups I think, more than for families so I don't want to overstate this either because we parents thoroughly enjoyed it! The hotel does have a games area which was welcome.

• Helmut (9/5): I am looking forward to my next stay at this hotel, probably in September 2026. - Breakfast and dinner were excellent I stayed several times already before in this hotel and had a room on a higher floor. This time I could not get this. Hope it is possible to get a room with ocean view on a higher floor again in the future. The check-out paying the Onsen fee should be streamlined and/or made more efficient. Also: why not pay this fee on check-in. This is unclear to me.
• Dennis (10/5): superb place to stay for visiting Shiretoko National Park - Great location with view. Make to order Buffett dinner was a nice change compared to regular Buffett lines. the foot bath area is right by the harbour, and the boats' diesel burning smell is quite bad sometimes.
• CHIEMI (8/5): - お部屋は広く清潔で快適に過ごせました。ビュッフェスタイルの夕食朝食も一品一品が丁寧でおいしく大変満足しました。ラウンジは広くサービスも充実しており快適に過ごせました。 スイートと銘打ったお部屋に泊まりましたが、専用チェックインカウンターがあるわけでもなく、客室まで荷物を運んでいただけるわけでもなく、またスイート限定のレストランがあるのに事前のご案内もなく予約できず、サービス面でスイート宿泊を感じるこはなく、奮発して高いお部屋に泊まらなくてもよかったな…という気持ちになったところが残念でした。

• gadi gonen (9/5): Fills like a 6 star hotel in Japan. - A truly wonderfull hotel with a variety of facilities. The location for shiretoko reserve is great. The stuff is exellent though almost no English speakers.the rooms are big and comfy. The price is high for Japan. The elevators doors are relatively narrow. No one to help you with carring the luggege. The Onsen can be more attractive for this hotel.
• Susan (9/5): Stunning views, modern resort hotel with all amenities. - Amazing location. Meals are buffet style, a lot to choose from. We had a room with a balcony which was lovely to be able to open up for fresh air. Onsen was great. It was expensive but perhaps equal to what we were given. I am not a great lover of buffets and there was second day repetition, however if you do enjoy them there was a very good array of choice.

Avec un lounge sympa pour les apéros L’hotel est sur le port, pas tres loin de l’entrée du parc national La petite ville n’a aucun intérêt Si jamais vous prenez une chambre dans l’annexe, la vue est catastrophique : les arrieres des bâtiments ! Et refus de nous changer de chambre

• frasery2013 (6/5): Ok hotel if you like sleeping on rock hard beds - The good: Food is very nice and varied The lounge offers tasty snacks and a wide variety of drinks The bad: I write this at 5am because the beds are awful, they are like concrete and I can’t sleep The location is close to nature but the hotel is situated within a commercial looking port The level of staff service is way less than you receive in Sapporo or Tokyo. Arrange your day trips before you arrive, there is not much help from the staff once you are here.

• Nattaporn (8/5): Very good - The hotel was quite environmental friendly. Food was tasty even though not much choice. The room was not that clean, there was stain of coffee on the kettle. Not many choice for breakfast and dinner.
• Georgina (6/5): Bad service at dinner buffet - Luxurious hotel with excellent facilities and great food. One of the sushi counter staff was very rude to my young child and myself when we tried to place our order for sushi during the dinner buffet at the hotel. He interrupted our attempts to explain what we wanted with hand gestures and raised his voice to say stop before abruptly serving us with a selection of sushi which did not match what we asked for. He essentially did not wish to engage and had elected to raise his voice to move us along though there was no queue behind us save for one man. While the place was beautiful and we had no issues otherwise in the hotel or anywhere else we visited in Japan, the incident has unfortunately marred what would have otherwise been another great trip to Japan where we have known nothing but warm communications with locals (assisted by hand gestures and google translate) notwithstanding the language barrier which can exist where they do not speak English. The manager was informed but had merely nodded while distractedly speaking to someone else on his headset and did not say anything in response though the lady who assited in translating did apologise briefly. Basically, the service standards did not match the high quality of the furnishings and facilities of the hotel. The hotel was in short, a disappointment.

• Justin (9/5): One of the best retreat stays… - Service, professionalism from staff is A+ - I would always see at least one staff member clearing snow or making sure the lounges look neat and tidy at all times, staff were always greeting guests. The hotel facilities, view from our room, room comfort level + private bath, amenities, bf & dinner buffet all top notch. After checking in and the moment we stepped into our room, the ambience was already set up with calming music to go with the view. One of the best retreat stays we’ve done, and certainly the best in Shiretoko. We enjoyed our stay, and felt very well rested. We will definitely stay here again. Shiretoko has alot to offer. The only downside we experienced was combining two bookings. Our keycard did not work on the day of the second booking and we had to go down to reception to fix it. It was a slight slip of the hotel, but nothing major.

• Jingyi (10/5): Exceptional! - Really out of our expectations. Starting from the services and greetings from staffs, to the entire activities offered. The most expectional was the food, it was buffet, but really michelin style buffet. Before our stay, we hesitated in adding dinner and breakfast to our package, but now we are grateful we did. The food isn’t just premade and placed on the counter for you to take, there was about 4-6 chefs up there and cook fresh plate to your orders. Each chef has a signature dish, so there was a great variety. Not to mention about, the interior and the book selection. Both me and my boyfriend were art major students, the selection of books really required great taste and an amount of knowledge in art. Especially there was a corner for all photographies done over the world in the same latitude as Shiretoko. Would book again. Small con about the luggage. When we drive-in, the staff had our luggage taken on a cart while we checked-in. Afterwards, nobody told us that we had to take the cart ourselves to the room. Regarding it’s a 4star hotel, we assumed that they will take our luggage straight to the room.

• Li (10/5): Luxurious seaside stay - Exceptional - from pulling up into the lobby the attentiveness, the lovely Okhotsk room with private onsen overlooking the harbour, 24hour lobby lounge access for complimentary drinks and the order to serve dinner and breakfast. Despite being very popular, the hotel never felt overwhelmingly crowded. It’s a premium experience so some may baulk at the price, but you get top notch service.

• Peter (10/5): Great stay in an excellent location. - Our comfortable room was great, with a super view of the port, sea, Oronko Rock and Cape Utoro. The hotel is all inclusive and the meals were excellent! Free ice cream at the chocolate shop daily was a nice treat as was the snacks and drinks at the lounge area. The outdoor foot onsen is a great place for a sunset drink. Everything was excellent!!
• John (8/5): Very good - I was anxious to arrange a taxi to my next stop at Lake Akan Not one of the Japanese staff was willing except to explore this except a very willing and kind Russian member of staff, Nicholas. I am so very happy he easily made this quite possible. Thank you so much Nicholas meals were the exactly same but nice for the 4 nights I stayed
• Tomoe (8/5): - 道央から宿泊。 温泉は昔から好きではない人間ですが、推しのYouTuberが宿泊していたことや知床へに興味があったことから北こぶしさんに行きたいと考えてました。 部屋は7階のシービューツインに泊まった、私自身の感想になります。↓ 【個人的に良かったところ】 ・まず、食事がとにかく最高でした‼︎ 魚や肉は知床産の食材が多く、どれも初めて感じた味で美味しくついつい食べすぎてしまいました。笑 デザートのフェイク海鮮丼はあったら是非食べてみて欲しいです！サーモンといくらの乗った丼に見せかけて桃の入った甘いプリンで、面白い一品でした。 ・ルームアメニティが充実しており、シャンプーや化粧水はすべてPOLAで特別感がありました。 ・ラウンジは広く、騒がしくないので落ち着いて過ごせます。 飲み物やお菓子が多数用意されており、ここで食べた知床土産菓子とティラミスとシュークリームも中々の絶品でした。 【個人的に不満に思うところ】 ・大浴場のサウナは地面に足をつけられないほど熱いです。やけどはしませんでしたが、熱すぎました。 ・海が近いので時間を問わずカモメの鳴き声がよく聞こえ、深夜に野生動物の鳴き声が聞こえてきたりでなかなか眠れませんでした。慣れてない人にはキツいと思いました。 ・部屋の洗面所と風呂は落ち着かないです。 暗くて古めかしく、下手すれば普通のビジネスホテルにも劣ります。 P.S ルームキーを紛失してしまい3000円取られました。 部屋に忘れた可能性も否めないですが、時間がなかったので館内を綿密に探してもらうのはやめましたが、もし見つかったとしても対応時の態度の悪い男性スタッフの元に賠償金が行ってないことを願います。 返金は不要ですのでクマ活か町に回して頂けたら助かります。
