• Gareth (10/5): Overall execellent stay for a very good price. - Location was good. Walk right and you are within main town within 10 minutes. Walk left and there is a nice walk to the sinkhole, lighthouse and beyond that a nice nature trail. Breakfast can be taken up to the room where there is a good view of mountains, sea and cruise ship. Staff were very helpful. Only a minor point. The shower was not enclosed so the room becomes very wet.

• Christiaan (9/5): I love Aggelos. Neat location and great value - It's a family-run hotel. Very friendly staff and Spyros is doing a great job running it. For me it was love at first sight looking at the pictures when booking. And for just a little bit more i got myself a room looking over the bay. Great value ! My little balcony was a favorite. And location. It's in a quiet corner of the boulevard with everything in walking distance. Breakfast had a lot to choose from and set me up for my adventures just great. If i go back to Argostoli, i will choose Aggelos as my base again. It felt like home after 2 days. In May, there's enough space in the parkinglot just a little walk away. It wasn't easy to keep the bathroom from getting soaked. Which made me a bit angry at myself, every morning. I mentioned that to the owner, by the way. That's it. I love Aggelos.

They should put a hanging hook behind the bathroom door, as space there is rather limited. Good breakfast. The old man who was there every day, was often sleeping in reception...NOT a good look for a professional establishment. • Annette (8/5): Perfekte Lage - gute Ausstattung - sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - Die Lage top! Blick auf den Hafen. Traumhaft. Modernes Zimmer, sauber und für Kurzaufenthalt völlig ausreichend von der Größe und Stauraum her. Wir konnten zudem über zwei Stunden früher einchecken und das Zimmer nutzen. Das war sehr nett. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig. Da war für jeden etwas dabei. Das Bad ist winzig, keine Ablagefläche. Für eine Nacht ging es, doch bei längerem Aufenthalt könnte es eine logistische Herausforderung werden. Der Frühstücksraum im Keller ist etwas ungemütlich. Außerdem wurde nicht umsichtig abgeräumt. Nachkommende Gäste mussten sich an vollgestellte Tische setzen. Und auch dann wurde nicht abgeräumt….

• Alex (7/5): Nice place, could be better. Ban cruise ships now - Friendly staff and excellent location.. …when the cruise ships aren’t in, check the calendar. We went to bed with a glorious sea view, backed by mountains & woke up to a naff looking boat on the water completely blocking our view, both days. Breakfast was vast but not great. Pastries tasted stale. It would make more sense to do less amounts well.

Chambre confortable, propre, service et petit déjeuner très satisfaisants. Pas grand chose, peut-être la salle d’eau toujours un peut petite dans cette catégorie d’hôtel.

• Julie (9/5): Another enjoyable stay - Great view of the sea from our balcony. Room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. Good breakfast selection. Staff friendly and helpful as always. The toilet seat in our bathroom was loose. I forgot to mention this to the hotel staff.

There were only 2 areas which could be improved in our opinion. The internet in our room was unreliable so we had to go the reception area to use our phones and all available television programs were in Greek.

• Lisa (7/5): Great position, but not good enough to make us want to stay there again. - The view over the bay was stunning. Easy access to restaurants and bars. Parking not too difficult if you’re happy to park a 5 minutes walk away away from the hotel. Pretty quiet, as the hotel is on the edge of the town centre. Room extremely clean. Air conditioning and essential mozzie screens in place. Only one plug socket in room. Made charging more than one phone and a camera difficult. No cupboard or drawers, so lived out of suitcases for a week (suitcases had to lay on floor). Very small room for two people. No lift, so hiking heavy suitcases up and downstairs was not fun; those who struggled with walking or had prams/wheelchairs would have a terrible time. Cleaners came into the rooms very early (before 10). If you missed their visit, the hotel was very insistent that they were able to access the room again that day. Female staff were lovely. Man was taciturn and monosyllabic throughout our stay.

The room was too small and the bathroom had a door that scraped along the floor which made a loud noise and so did the bedroom door. Limited space to put things in the bathroom.

Not much room for storing clothes other than for hanging. Room said a city view, but was more of a city-facing room as we had almost no view of anything but the building the room faced and the hill behind it. Bathroom was difficult to keep dry without a shower wall/glass. But was otherwise very clean and efficient with nice water pressure and heat. Adjacent Hotel didn't allow me to park on the street.

• Tessa (1/5): - We had an incident where we were double charged for this property. We were charged 10 days after we booked the accomodation under “Hospital Argostoli”. On our final night the property was adamant that we had not paid for the property and demanded we had to pay (again). As the booking was taken out 10 days after the date we had booked and under a name we didn’t recognise I could not find it in my bank statements so we paid again. Luckily I continued to search my bank statements and found the receipt and asked for the amount back. We have tried to get in contact with the property since this incident with no response. If I had found the statement after we had left, I doubt they would have given me a refund and continued to ignore my messages. We felt as though they had taken advantage of us and when we asked for a refund they didn’t offer an apology or any admission of the mistake that they had made.

• Manuela (9/5): A Gem in Kefalonia - Up until a week before traveling to Kefalonia, I had two hotels booked and wasn’t sure which to choose. I’m so glad I went with Aggelos—it couldn’t have been a better decision. The location is excellent: close enough to walk into the center, yet far enough to be peaceful. It’s a family-run hotel, and you can really feel the effort they put into making guests feel welcome. Breakfast was simple but did the job. On my first day back from an afternoon walk, they left cookies in my room, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also kindly offered me a late check-out due to my evening flight and kept my bags until mid-afternoon. This hotel deserves more than its two-star rating. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kefalonia.

• Thomas (8/5): Gute Lage für einen erholsamen Inselaufenthalt - Die Lage direkt an der Uferpromenade war gut. Kurzer Spaziergang bis in die touristische Kernzone von Argostoli und trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Schöner Blick über die Bucht von Argostoli. Das Frühstück war vielseitig und ausreichend. Die Zimmer wurden regelmäßig gereinigt. Das Zimmer war sehr unpraktisch eingerichtet. Alles sehr verwinkelt und eng zugestellt. Keine Nachttischlampen am Bett und auch keine Möglichkeit die Beleuchtung vom Bett aus ein- bzw. auszuschalten. Dies kann in Notfällen zu gefährlichen Situationen führen.

• Lucia (9/5): Perfetto! Balconcino sul porto meraviglioso! - Struttura nuova, pulita, accogliente leggermente defilata dal caos ma centrale, con stupendo affaccio sul porto. La stanza della colazione meriterebbe un restyling, stando nel seminterrato dovrebbe essere un po’ più ridente e curata, così com’è non è allineata alla struttura. La colazione stessa un po’ monotona, su booking ci sono foto di torte e waffle che non corrispondono alla realta. Sono tuttavia cose assolutamente secondarie ma che segnalo costruttivamente. Inoltre un sorriso in più da parte del personale (maschile, quello femminile e’ super gentile) sarebbe d’obbligo. C’è chi neanche saluta….

My brother and wife’s room was on ground floor and had an awful bathroom in need of renovation. We complained and by the end of the day they moved them to a newly refurbished room on the same floor as my room. The location is very good and within walking distance to the main square. The breakfast was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had and I have had many! All the cooked food was dry and overcooked from being left on heated trays too long. The yoghurt had a watery pool around each portion because it had sat there for too long. They had absolutely no alternative milk, only cow’s milk. They had only black teabags, no herbal or green tea. Their coffee was instant and awful. Not much choice of fresh fruit or veg and one of the morning staff laughed when we asked her to reheat the fried eggs for us because they had gone stone cold!

• Attila (10/5): - Nagyon jó elhelyezkedésű hotel, ahol az erkélyünk a teknősök élőhelyeül szolgáló öbölre nézett. Szállás adó, Sofia mindent elkövetett annak érdekében, hogy jól érezzük magunkat. Ellátott tanácsokkal a meglátogatható nevezetességek terén. Minden nap takarítottak, este előkészítették a szobát pihenésre. Kisebb meglepetésekkel színesítették a szolgáltatást. Bár a hotel csillag besorolása nem a legmagasabb, de a szolgáltatás felért öt csillaggal. Ajánlom azoknak az idelátogató turisták számára akik a barátságos, de fényűzést mellőző szállásra vágynak.

The location is ideal in my opinion because it’s still well within the centre of town and walking distance to all the restaurants etc but slightly out of the busier section where people are fighting for car parks and space on the road. It was quiet, super clean and the staff always greeted me when I came back to the hotel. Included continental breakfast with lots of pastries and fruit, unfortunately no gluten free options and the server looked at me like I was an alien when I asked if they had gluten free bread. However, I think for people without dietary restrictions it would have been a very sufficient breakfast. The bathroom was newly renovated and had great water pressure. 100% would stay again Lack of dietary options at breakfast

• amanda (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable hotel in a great location - views across the bay, a gentle level stroll into the town but just far enough away from all the hustle and bustle so noise not an issue. All the staff are super friendly, welcoming and helpful and made my mother’s stay a real pleasure, thank you. There isn’t a lift - this was not a problem for my Mum as the hotel very kindly gave her a ground floor room which she loved (with a sea view!) but less mobile visitors would need to bear this in mind.
