Guest Reviews
- Tenya (8/5): - No cable.. return to property at 10:45 pm the gate was closed. I had to open the gate to enter the property. Pathway to my room was dark. I found this to be unsafe. Overall staff members were pleasant.. property needs to be renovated. Poorly kept.
- Vinnet (4/5): - I booked a king room with patio and ocean view and got a room with a double bed and no ocean view. The room was not clean. There were roach droppings under the pillows and soils on the pillow cases.
The towels were old and discolored.
We lodged a complaint with the Manager, who apologized, but stated that what we booked is not what she is seeing on her end.
We decided to leave because we were not getting what we paid for and was promised that we would get a refund and 25% off on our next booking with the property.
I am still waiting to be refunded!!
- Annette (2/5): - Landscape and ocean view was good. I also love the gazebo. The room was disgusting. The bathroom smells of sewage and tiles were dirty , plus no running water in the pipes, therefore , unable to bathe or flush the toilet. The white towels, and sheets were dingy. The smoke detector was also missing. I stayed for 1 night due to the poor conditions. However, the staff team were supportive and kind. They tried to accommodate us as best within their power.
- Janet (8/5): A beautiful spot - The parking was easy and the hotel is in a lovely position surrounded by blue sea. We were warmly welcomed with complimentary bottles of water and a welcome rum punch or beer. We were also given an upgrade to a front facing room which was much appreciated. The super king sized bed was really comfortable. There was a large fridge, kettle and mugs provided, just take your own coffee. The shower had plenty of hot water. The air con unit is quiet and works well, it is peaceful and we slept really well. You get a lovely sunset which we enjoyed from the gazebo which is lit with fairy lights. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent in quality and the menus are really nice, although some of the ingredients may be missing (Greek salad minus the feta) The callaloo parcels were just divine! I wanted the chefs signature herb crusted chicken but was warned off by the waitress saying it would take an hour to cook. Instead we ordered chicken pasta and goat curry which then took over an hour and a half to arrive. By the time our main course arrived 2h after we’d initially sat down we were past wanting to eat much. The locals seem to know to order in advance so it is ready when they arrive. If we had stayed longer, we would have done that for breakfast and dinner. It was the only thing that we didn’t like, you do want to wait over an hour for breakfast.
- Sian (4/5): Sad to see Luna Sea in this state. - Used to visit a lot and it was excellent. Nice setting with beautiful sunsets. Has deteriorated from previous visits. Looks very run down and staff seem disengaged.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (10/5): Beautiful view from a tranquil spot. - Stephanie at the bar and restaurant was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing. We enjoyed all that we ate at lunch, dinner and breakfast. The view from the room was beautiful too. Kind of pricey for a hotel in this area.
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional - Linda! It's your Colorado friend from Breckenridge.
Thank you again for making our 1 night so special and for being one of our favorite people we met along the way. Your facility and your staff were SO genuine and caring. And the food at your restaurant was INCREDIBLE. To any reader debating staying here, I highly recommend it.
- Pamela (10/5): Wonderful, wonderful day in a very special place. - Stunning ocean views on three sides. Excellent breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the complementary kayaks. We paddled out to watch the sunset at a local bar both nights, and also out to the reef for snorkeling. If you enjoy kayaking/snorkeling /chilling out with amazing views I urge would definitely recommend adding Luna sea in to your itinerary. Nothing
- Oscar (2/5): - the whole place is undermaintened, we could hear loud bad words from the staff from the kitchen, rooms needs painting, the bathrrom roof leaks. the place is definitely not good value for money. i would never return there
- Constance (10/5): - It was beautiful and very nice. Thanks
- Dawnia (6/5): - The restaurant staff was nice and the food was authentic and tasty.
- Mike (4/5): - We booked a delux room months in advance, but we’re told that the travel agents mislead us, we had hours of negotiations until they “did us a favour” and found a room for us where the lights actually worked and had been serviced.
The property is more not just tired, it’s dilapidated, like the owners have given up. The pool is basically a eight foot hot tub - so filmy that I saw NO ONE use it. Broken safes and dodgy wiring. A single light worked. Room service did not happen despite putting a card out @08:00, by 18.00 still no clean. Excuses for everything - slow safe engineers, miss allocation by the travel agent at reception and the owner. Conversely the restaurant food is very good and the serving staff are wonderful. I would no recommend until the place is totally refurbished.
- Kateřina (7/5): Amazing sunset, great restaurant, clean room - Nice place with great service and great restaurant and bar, everybody was really nice and helpful. Best thing is the sunset there! Room was spacious and clean. The only thing we were sorry for is that there is no beach and the entrance to the sea is very tricky, but nothing can be done about it, it is because of the location. The beach chairs deserve to be replaced.
- Helen (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed - The location is stunning . Beautiful views of Bluefields Bay. The staff were friendly and food excellent Na
- Julian (6/5): Ok - Breakfast was great. Location breathtaking The walls are thin. Bathrooms need to be cleaned properly. Restaurant patrons are able access the area where hotel guests are staying. This made us uncomfortable
- Nicole (10/5): - I loved this place. It is a gem. Would definitely stay there again. The staff and bartender was amazing.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Vendiola (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (9/5): Beautiful place at the sea with a good restaurant. - the place was directly at the sea and had a good restaurant. Our second night we had a neighbour who was calling and watching tv till 4/5 in the morning. The place is quite noisy so you can hear a lot.
- Nadnne (4/5): Disappointing, we felt cheated. - Our disappointment began when we arrived, We asked for an early check in because my husband needed to change to attend a funeral service. No room was available for us when we arrived. We baught a tripple room yet we got only 2 welcome drinks. The image on the website is not the room we got. We saw 3 beds on the site, the room had only 2. We requested a third and got it.
We are still looking for the beach, the semi acces to the sea is simply horrible, an extremely poor excuese for a beach. We left the property to the nearby Bluefields beach. We waited one and a half hours for breakfast while the owner entertains her friends at a nearby table. Additionally we had to pay for a third breakfase even though we booked a tripple room Totally inhospitable. I would not return neither would I recommend the Luna Sea Inn to others.
- Powell (8/5): Would definitely go back. - Loved the location, although it rained heavily we could experience nature by being practically on top of the sea, and had a view of the hills wreathed in clouds. The sunset was spectacular. Staff was friendly and accommodating. A bit awkward getting to the room in the rain. You will definitely get wet, even after checking in.
- Donna (6/5): Pleasant but room could be improved. - Food and friendly staff. Lighting in bathroom and curtains on window and door inadequate coverage
- Peter (1/5): Bad - The food was good The room didn't smells good and the curtains was very dirty, the windows inside has cobwebs
- Alvin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (6/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay there and despite its shortcomings in some areas, we’d stay there again - Food overall was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Ambiance was nice and laid back. Property grounds were kept clean Rooms are sparsely furnished. Would be nice if they had suitcase stands to put your suitcases on. Only one outlet in the bedroom area was accessible. They need to invest in a power bar so you can plug in your phones etc. They gave you a kettle to make coffee but there is no outlet to plug it into other than the one in the bedroom or one in the bathroom. Tv and a/c controls kept in the office. Took us a couple of tries to find ones that were working (batteries). Not enuf towel racks or hooks in the room to hang towels on. Shower floor is made out of concrete and stones, however, the stones are quite large and it hurts if you have sensitive feet. Suggest they use a bathmat to resolve this issue. Lighting in the room is not great either. Could use some brighter bulbs. Closet is very small and we only had one hanger for our clothes. Breakfast starts at 8:00am however, staff usually arrived up to 15 mins after 8:00 so you never really got your breakfast at times till near 9;00am. Generally the wait staff is good but there are some that need a little more training on customer service.
- Sylvester (8/5): My family and I were well relaxed for the weekend. - We liked the Seaview
- Tori (10/5): Amazing Gem!! - We loved staying at the Luna Sea Inn! It was such a beautiful, peaceful getaway. We stayed at Sandals South Coast for a few days prior for a friend’s wedding and then left and stayed at Luna’s after. Of course Sandals was nice, but we honestly enjoyed the Luna Sea Inn more! It was way more personal, peaceful, beautiful at the Luna Sea Inn. Shuttle/taxi service was simple, along with an easy checkin. Food and drinks were delicious! Prices were great and you could have everything billed to your room. The gazebo could even be rented out for dinner for only $20!! It was gorgeous. An all inclusive package is also available. Staff was super friendly and the owner Dr. Linda was always around to talk! Dr. Linda recommended caves in the water, so we used the kayaks and kayaked to the caves. Very beautiful. No big beach to lay on, but there were a few super near by. We felt super safe and welcome. We can’t wait to come back!!
- Ulrika (10/5): Peaceful location and great food - We had a great stay at Luna Sea Inn. Wonderful location with peaceful views over the ocean and the surrounding green mountains. Not to mention the gorgeous sunsets! Friendly and very attentive staff. The restaurant had a really nice vibe with both hotel guests and other visitors coming by. Great food and service, with an excellent breakfast included in the price. Bluefields Beach was a short ride with shared route taxi away, very accessible and well worth a visit. A lot to do within 30-60 minutes drive. We spent two nights here, but wished we could have stayed longer. Next time:)
- Maxine (8/5): the workers let my stay worth it especially Stephanie and the bar tender for got his name they were amazing - the property was wonderful there was nothing not to like about the property
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Holmes (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frieda (3/5): Keep scrolling - The view and food at restaurant. I had to pay for the stay when I thought it was already paid for. No real beach area. The location was not convenient. A worker answering the owners emails tried to swindle money out of me because I cancelled a drive, 3 hours prior. She even let the guy come to our table while eating breakfast and he tried to bully $100 out of us. I did not pay him a dime. You can't lay on any lawn furniture as it was soo dirty. Place needs some paint and new furniture. I've been to Jamaica lots of times. This was a depressing resort. No amenities for the guests. The equipment looked old, dirty, and not used in a long time.
- Dawson (7/5): Good -
- Sanique (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (8/5): casual, affordable, great views - the views were incredible!
Food 100% amazing no house keeping
- Shanilia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgene (9/5): Lovely Luna by the Sea That’s a great respite before I start work on one of our humanitarian project - Delicious made to order breakfast. We chose the Jamaican breakfast. Great that The breakfast is included in the price of the room. I love the location, sitting by the Sea for dining and listening to the waves at night. I never seem to have my name and the reservations even though I’ve been confirmed. And they always forget to have a coffee pot in my room. Otherwise it’s fabulous.
- Dwayne (8/5): Very good - The waiting time for my dinner was too long
- Aisha (1/5): Don't Let the Pictures Fool You - The view, the restaurant for the wings and French toast. The ladies that work in the restaurant were awesome. EVERYTHING else.
- Janet (2/5): Terrible Place…….. people pay attention - The food The photo’s on the website is not a true representation of the rooms
When I booked it was based on the photos
And the reviews were really good, this is why I felt compelled to write the truth about this accommodation.
On the first night….
A. Lamp was not working
B. Hairs were in the shower & an old bar of soap left in the bottom of the shower
C. The mini Fridge was dirty
D. The so called pool was grimy and Hasn’t been cleaned out for ages
The whole resort…. Needs a complete refurbishment…… Dr Linda the owner should be Embarrassed demanding over $100 per night. for such a low standard appalling accommodation.
And the ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back’ was the Rat 🐀 that was seen by my Friend running from the kitchen. On that very day we decided to leave.
I will not be returning to Luna Seas….. I would advise people to take their ‘hard and cash’ and go somewhere where the owner makes an effort with the resort.
- Donna (8/5): - Off the beaten path, very authentic vibes, quite location. People in the area are very friendly try Barry's Sweet Potato Puddin. Staff was amazing at the Resort. Owner was present on site she's very warm and entertaining. Small cove in the rear for swimming also one of the Best Beach in the area is very close by. Covid/Pandemic No movement lockdown in Jamaica at the time made it impossible to get a variety of food, but what was prepared was amazing. Must try their Guava Jerk Lobster.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location, excellent service! We really enjoyed this lovely hotel. Stayed for 4 nights!
- Nats (10/5): - Beautiful all around! Don’t let the front of this property deceive you. The beauty is at the back. Water-edge view...a gazebo with a FANTASTIC sunset in the evening is to die for! Oh my goodness! The rooms were very clean and I loved the pebble floor bathroom. Nice, clean white towels too. A very rustic feel to the rooms.
The staff is also wonderful. Very friendly and courteous. A little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. I enjoyed my short stay at Luna Star and will definitely go back.
- Cory (10/5): - This is paradise. Our teenagers loved the kayaks, went out to the reef several times. The restaurant has wonderful food, vibes and service. If you want a peaceful, safe, real Jamaican vacation, THIS IS THE SPOT.
Walk around and meet the people in the neighborhood, the best beach in the area( Bluefields beach) is walking distance. Enjoy !
- corina (10/5): Paradise - Luna Sea Inn is paradise! Absolutely the best spot on the island. Our teenagers loved to take the kayaks out to the reef. The restaurant has excellent food, great vibes and excellent service! If you want a peaceful , safe real Jamaican vacation, THIS IS THE SPOT!
- Sian (10/5): - Beautiful views of the sea from the room. Very friendly staff. Great food. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is paradise. Dr. Linda has created a true oasis that features some of the most incredible food I've ever enjoyed. Our room was beautiful, and I loved the ocean view from my adjoining deck. There is a set of stone carved stairs that lead directly into a tiny private cove right off of my room! Her attached restaurant and bar serve incredible food and cocktails! The food is INCREDIBLE. Come to Jamaica just for her menu! It changes frequently because she sources her staples locally. So fresh! The rooms also have an electric kettle, French press, glasses, milk, and blue mountain coffee ready to go for a fresh cup before you leave your room. The whole hotel has free WiFi access! It was reliable and fast for our phones. Our room also had a silent a/c, and it worked so well that we would get chilly if we ran it too much! I do not recommend trying to drive to Luna Sea from either airport. Dr. Linda will arrange that upon request. She will also arrange some incredible experiences for you, all you have to do is ask. Everything is extremely well priced! I cannot emphasize enough two things: 1) this place is a true oasis, and 2) do not try to drive here. If you do, she offers a fabulous welcome rum punch and free on site parking. Absolutely, hands down, 100% come visit Luna Sea. You can plan everything you want to experience in Jamaica, the perfect trip, all in comfortable accomodations. Linda will help you plan every detail. All for a fraction of the cost of the bigger resorts
- Tabby (8/5): - Locaton was great! It was a very relaxed atmosphere. There was a dj on property playing music near the restaurant. That was unexpected.
The room was clean and decently appointed, if a little small (for four people). The outdoor space was open and had lovely vistas all around. There were a lot of places to sit and enjoy the views.
The food was okay. The staff were friendly enough. We had a nice stay there for one night, but I would not book an extended stay (more than 2 nights) there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place for food and drink on the South Coast - Two days and nights in the sun to attend a wedding at Sandals South Coast at a reasonable cost
- Verified traveler (6/5): Jamaica 🇯🇲 2019 - Our stay was ok but there is always need for improvements Food &. Entertainment are the most important areas to focus on when traveling
- Bianca (10/5): - The staff were amazing. Everyone was so accommodating. Also the food was delicious!! Would definitely stay here again :)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Overpriced and disappointing - Massively overpriced for the area and quality.
- Renee (10/5): - This property is a rear gem we have found. It is clean, the staff is very professional, the food is delicious and we got free breakfast included. The closeness to the ocean is breathtaking, when I say peace and serenity sitting on the lounge chair under the almond tree and hear the waves hit the rocks; and watch as baby crabs quickly escape back to the ocean. A perfect peace of mind get away!
- Dallas (10/5): Very clean and staff is exceptional - Special thanks to David, Sasha and all the staff. Very accommodating with every request. Food was excellent and priced right. Beautiful view and very relaxing. Would most definitely stay there again.
