Dianna (9/5): Great place to stay - Convenient location. Quiet. Great staff. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Hot showers with good water pressure. Good hot breakfast selections. Coffee available in lobby, and cookies late afternoon/evening. There is a truck stop across the street which is convenient for fill ups and some fast food like Arby’s. But no restaurant in that area, at least not that we could find.

(I need the sound to sleep) Dispite the fact that they had never had that request before. Greatful that shampoo/conditioner as well as body was provided, as well as a makeup remover wipe and lotion. (I used both mine and theirs, and theirs smelled so nice and didnt dry out my skin or hair. The hot tub was so relaxing. Our stay was fantastic!

Very friendly staff. Breakfast was much better than other hotels in this price range. Breakfast room was very well organized and well-stocked. I am always impressed with the Cobblestone Hotels -- haven't been in one yet with a bad experience. Always well-maintained and kept up. I stay at a lot of hotels and can tell that the staff at Cobblestones are well trained and customer focused. If there's a Cobblestone where I'm going, that's typically where I'm staying!

We forgot to mention as we left early yesterday morning that the shower leaked out onto the floor on the end where the bench is.. It appeared that the rubber ridge, which is to hold the water in was not stuck down.

redbug (10/5): Good for a couple of nights. - We stayed 2 nights here so hubby could ride Ragbrai, the across Iowa bicycle ride. Room was clean and comfortable. The night clerk was the best! Very friendly and helpful. Next morning we came in for breakfast Front desk clerk not having a good day I think. Did not acknowledge we were even there. Pretty standard breakfast. Waffle batter mix was out. Hubby had eggs and said they were ok. I had requested a handicap room, because I knew that that would be on the first floor, and since there was no elevator, I knew there was no way I was going to be able to climb the stairs. The bath tub was on the slippery side, which I was surprised about considering it was a handicapped set up. There is construction going on that did not affect our stay at all.

Barrynof (2/5): Not impressed - Service and location were the only pluses here. Everything else was very questionable. See the pictures. We were unaware that there was construction going on before we arrived. We found out that there wasn't an elevator. There were several areas around the building and in our room that were not repaired properly. The bathroom door to our room would open on its own, unless completely closed. This is a sign that the door was hung improperly or has come loose over time. The towel holder and the curtain rod were wobbly. The shower was very slippery. It seemed very odd to me that a hotel would be advertising alcoholic drinks for sale. The lampshade did not have a finial to keep the lampshade in place.
James (8/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is under construction so there was no workout room and our shower head kept sliding down making it difficult to shower.
Lawrence (8/5): Very good - Reasonably nee King bed was way too soft and hard on the back. Moved to a queen room the second night and that was a lot better.

briansA3095DB (10/5): Would go many miles out of the way to stay at a Cobblestone Inn! - There was extra pillows for every comfort occasion. The mattress was soft with plenty of thickness to comfort your curves. The rooms were very clean and I slept in a coma! It was a nice one night experience.

Verified traveler (6/5): - Stay was not the best. Room was overpriced for what was offered and hotel was under construction. Could hear the work being done. Was I. Town for my mothers funeral. Pillows were not pleasant felt like a half empty bag of cotton balls. Dust from the construction was all over the hallways. Dust was on the silverware containers in the breakfast areas.

312altheas (10/5): Best Night Clerk Ever! - I arrived late and received the most cordial and helpful welcome I can recall at any motel ever! The clerk was the perfect mix of friendly and respectful for a traveler arriving in the middle of the night. My experience with him created a sense of comfort and security I enjoyed through the rest of my stay in very lovely and enjoyable accommodations.

msmirandam (6/5): Work Trip - It was nice, but still undergoing some serious renovations and it’s in the middle of almost nowhere. The is a TA gas station with Hardee’s and Dunkin attached and then a Dollar General about a half mile up the road. Other than that I enjoyed my stay for what it was which was only one night for work.
JKSDSM (10/5): Great hotel - We booked 7 rooms for a family funeral gathering. Jessica was awesome help with all our needs. Lovely hotel. Breakfast was a little sparse but quite adequate. Entire family was impressed. I would use this hotel again. A great find in northwest rural Iowa.

Very few motels still have a functioning Ice machine even though it was cold out its still nice to have a little ice with a drink at night.

33brookeo (10/5): Rural Iowa Outside our Window - We can’t wait to stay again when we return to Holstein. Our hotel room was super clean, and had a lot of good space. Outside our window we loved to see the summer fields. After playing games and visiting with family at a family reunion, it was good to come back to such comfortable beds. We felt right at home. .

Continental breakfast was good, and if you wanted something more, there's a Dunkin Donuts and Hardees at the gas station across the road. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Easy to find and although its located right off of HWY 20, was very quiet. Would definatley stay there again!

The Breakfast was fairly good considering the tremendous cost of this establishment VS what is offered (no pool-basic other amenities). Low value. Staff was good. see above
Bonnie (2/5): Very Disappointing! - Not much No elevator and requested a bottom floor room, went to check in and was on second floor. Asked again for bottom floor and was total no rooms. No elevator so after visiting with my husband we asked for refund as I could not do steps due to health reasons. After contacting supervisor we were given bottom floor room. After getting into room and pulling back covers on one bed it was found to have a spot of blood or something on sheet. Therefore we slept in other bed, I’m laying in bed and see something move along top of wall and it’s a big bug. You would have thought we were in a low class hotel not $150/night. Knew there was no other rooms so we made the best of it. In the morning took shower and no shampoo in dispenser. Poor accommodations.

We found it to be clean and spacious and the people working at the front desk were very friendly. We will definitely stay there again when we go back next time.

It was clean and the air conditioning worked well. The bed was comfortable and my room was quiet. The guy at check-in was friendly and helpful. In the morning, the room clock said it was 10:57am I was packing to leave when the phone rang, it was the front desk asking if I’d be staying another night? I said “it’s 10:57am and check out is 11:00 am. Why are you calling me”? She said “oh, my watch says 11:03am” I said “ oh, well a good hotel doesn’t start harassing guest 3 minutes after checkout time”. That would never happen at a Hilton, Marriott or IHG property.

This was my first stay at a Cobblestone in general and specifically the Cobblestone in Holstein and I hope it will not be my last.

The rooms are clean and the complimentary breakfast is excellent. Front desk clerk's Shelia and Amanda are incredible with their professionalism, outstanding attention to detail and incredible personalities. What an AWESOME HOTEL!!
603marvaa (8/5): Enjoying the Cobblestone Inn in Holstein - It was a quiet stay. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. There was a very wide range of TV stations to choose from. The staff was very accommodating. Breakfast eggs served on Sunday were very mediocre.
