Nothing was too much trouble for staff, extra blankets provided as it was a cool night. Free parking out the back. Great location. Great prices. Very comfortable when you have to sleep on the floor 😂💀 I’ll keep it short — unfit for purpose, seeking reimbursement We booked two rooms for the kids and us It was a stinking hot night and the Airconditioning units, despite being set at the lowest temperature, barely provided us with air that was less hot than outside air (probably still 30 degrees in the room!) - when asked about it all the staff could says was that the aircon units were all sharing one compressor on the roof. Clearly under dimensioned for the Australian conditions At some point we switched the fan light on, an then the remote completely stopped working (not a battery issu. We were not able to switch the light off, or reach the ceiling fan (too high) to unscrew the light bulb, so my wife decided to sleep here anyway with a pillow on their head, and I went to sleep on the floor in the kids room so I wouldn’t have a bright white light in my face… Shared toilet stunk badly and door wouldn’t stay closed, bathroom smelled a bit of mould Staff was nice enough with all the issues we had, but it seems like they are fighting with management about a whole lot of issues. We called next day after checking out, to seek reimbursement which is being processed (still!). Absolut travesti of an experience (besides the fund story we now share with the kids). Next time we spend $100 more and stay in the city in a decent hotel. For $400 you can stay at the Shangri La in a much better room than this!!

• Lee Seong (7/5): Generally okay - Location ) Aircond old and squeaky, pls get it changed to a new one 2) room door no. 16 squeaky when open or close disturbing other hotel guests , kindly lubricate those door joints with oil 3) carpets outside doorway kindly vacuum and aromatise them to have a fresh indoor fragrance , smells old and unhealthy now , better still change to new carpets ! 4) cleaner kitchen and fridge 5) directions where to return room key and check out if earlier than 10am Will be very grateful if the above steps are taken to improve guests stay cos we will come again ! • Reuben (9/5): Very comfortable and great value - Room and bed were super comfortable beautiful calm place to stay and nice and quiet. Enjoyed the terrace outside too. Staff were lovely and really helpful. So helpful to have a kitchen. Kitchen was a bit dirty, had a weird smell to it depending on who was here at the time. It would've been nice to have a small bar fridge but that's neither here nor there.

• Ross (2/5): It was the worst stay I have had in the hotel and I doubt that I will use it again. At least the restaurant was satisfac - Location and restaurant Dreadful lack of attention given to basic services - in particular, NO toilet paper in one of the two upstairs toilets and NO air conditioning working in my room on a very hot night. Then there are 50 stairs to climb to the bedrooms on the top floor - not easy for someone like me who is in my eighties.

I complain about this with the manager, and he said that the hotel was full, so he didn’t have anything to do it. Besides that, the fan was not working as well. It was really hot inside the room and terrible to sleep. Also, the shower area was dirty and with mould.

• Andrew (2/5): Fool me once, Fool me twice- I'm an Idiot for giving a second chance. - Room clean, beds good. I'm stupid. Why did I expect any difference the second visit. More fool me. 28 Degrees in the room. Last time the main light didn't work and there were no kettles or bar fridges in the room. Not sure how you are expected to take you cup downstairs, fill it with boiling water and the carry it up stairs to your locked room. Still no kettles in rooms. But there are cups and coffee sachets- no milk again. Did bother asking at the bar if there was any milk in the hotel following last trips "no". Just gave up. And now for the kicker- On a predicted heat wave weekend the air con does not work. Response from manager- "I reset the switch" She was then able to observe with me no change. This was at 12:30am by this stage. Was I offered another room? NO. Was I offered any compensation? NO. She just shrugged her shoulders and left. Not sure people staying in my accommodations would accept that. Oh yeah, I also had to wait 1/2 hour while the TV ran through a tune as it only got radio when I arrived. So much for a recovery sleep after a long work day and 5 hours driving on top. Hopefully I won't be stupid a 3rd time!

The outdoor area was perfect on the hot day we visited, with plenty of space for the kids to play. The bathrooms are a bit old, but that’s to be expected in an older pub

The overflowing dirty towels basket made me wonder whther the share bathroon had been cleaned that morning. The kettle could only be refilled in the share bathroom

I didn’t hear any of the pub patrons during my stay. I was provided with tea/coffe sachets, but no kettle? Not sure if I was supposed to go down to the bar to get it?

Also, it got a bit noisy with the pub being under the accommodation, but it stop at a reasonable time. Also bed could of had a better mattress ,but it was fair

• Kellie (4/5): Great location, unfortunately that's all - Location was great. You get what you pay for. Whilst the location was great, that's where it stops. Some bleach or exit mould in the bathrooms wouldn't go astray. Don't be fooled by the photos it's not like that at all. No personal toiletries in the room, there were 3 of us and only 2 towels (whilst the staff were great providing extra, the booking was for 3 people), no sugar in the room and the kettle still had water in it from God knows when. One of the blinds had come down and just been shoved on top of the wardrobe, told staff and we were met with "oh yeah that happened a few days ago don't worry we won't charge you for it", so the sun beamed in Early hours of the morning straight on to our trying to sleep child. The windows were covered in mould and when you opened them they opened out to the smoker's balcony. Sorry, but we won't be back 😢

The room was next to the smoker's balcony so there were people smoking early in the morning which isn't great for a non smoker. The fan in the toilet doesn't switch off and is really noisy especially at night.
