Guest Reviews
- Bradley (10/5): - This unique property has a nice lobby with friendly and helpful attendants. The rooftop has a lovely sitting area with nice views as well as a well-equipped workout room and free laundry. There is a convenient urban Chedraui supermarket in a small indoor shopping mall situated across the street. Located in the ultra-cool Roma Norte colonia, it is within walking distance of great restaurants and bars as well as the Mercado Medellin offering traditional crafts, delectable produce and a number of great food purveyors. Capital St. has now become our go-to rental suites in CDMX.
- Corey (10/5): Great bang for your buck - Actually this was an amazing hotel to stay at, it is a great location in Rome Norte (can walk to Chapultapec park, there is also Ecobici nearby) and it was very affordable. The room was very clean and nice, and the TV was also good. Only slight problem is it's kind of noisy at night so bring earplugs..
- Susana (8/5): No visitors after midnight. - Everything was good except for one night that I was charged 500pesos and in cash because a friend that came over to see us, left past 12 AM.
I thought this was a bit too much.
- PATRICIO (8/5): - Small hotel but good located
- Susan (10/5): - I highly recommend Capital St. I was given a lovely modern small apartment that had a kitchenette, lounging room and bedroom and even a small balcony for a good price, very clean, and right across the street from a supermarket and big shopping mall. Wonderful shower. The front desk crew was very nice and accommodating.
- John (8/5): - There is lack of informing in the room.
- Felipe (10/5): - Great spot!
- Carlos (8/5): - Great relation price/property. Good location…
- Rick (10/5): - Hotel room is spacious and well maintained. Our room is facing the street and could be noisy for light sleepers like us. Lucky that we are on the fourth floor. It’s not too bad. Many cafes nearby!
- Randy (10/5): - It was very walkable property to anywhere you needed to go.
- Jafeth (10/5): - Nice place would definitely stay again
- Alejandro (10/5): - Great central place to stay
- Frank (10/5): - Very friendly staff, very nice accommodations, across the street from a mall that has a supermarket. The hotel is located within walking distance of many of the city attractions.
- Nayeli (10/5): - Limpio y tranquilo, definitivamente lo recomiendo
- Carlos (10/5): - average hotel, good relation price for what you get
- Timothy (10/5): - Very nice area. Close to shopping and restaurants. Suprisingly quiet even with the window and balcony door open. Neighborhood felt safe and clean. Many English-speaking people in the area if your Spanish is lacking.
- Henry (2/5): Refused to Stay There Once I saw it - I had booked this hotel based on pictures and description. When I arrived at a neighborhood not at all like the descriptions, I was shown a room that was 1 level below street level. It had a balcony that overlooked a parking space 2 levels below street level. I asked for a room on a higher floor - that one faced a construction site. Cars cannot stop in front of the hotel - the Uber I called had to pick me up around the corner. The lighting is terrible. I've never been to a maximum security prison, but I think the lighting at the hotel would have made a great set for the prison.
- Arjun (4/5): Great location, but noisy - would not stay again - I stayed here for 8 nights in Feb 2023. This was a well-priced apartment-hotel in the heart of Roma Norte. It was very easy to get around, and the apartment itself was huge, with two smart TVs and a safe. I also really appreciated that they provided two daily water bottles with the cleaning.
However, I wouldn't stay here again for the following reasons:
- The noise from the street was loud and constant at all hours; the windows were weak and not soundproof at all
- The wifi was weak
- The bathroom shower pressure extremely weak
- The bed wasn't super comfortable
- The fridge did not work
- The bathroom hand towels were inconsistently replaced
- No shampoo or conditioner provided in bathroom
- At checkout time, front desk was unoccupied, and I had to catch my Uber to the airport, so I had to drop my keys and leave
Overall, disappointing. If the shower and windows were improved, I would love to stay again.
- Cameron (8/5): Good stay - Nice place with access to metrobus five minutes away and subway 15 minute walk. Close to Condesa, Hippodrome, all the hotspots in Roma Norte and Sur.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Nice, clean hotel in a good part of Mexico City for a tourist. I would stay here again.
- William (8/5): - Good location in Roma Norte, only a block east of hip La Condesa. Modern yet discreet. Our apartment was spacious, but slightly over the top furniture.
A few things kept my review from being 5 stars. It’s noisy, the traffic on the one way street outside is terribly fast and loud. Bring ear plugs! Dual pane windows would really help this place. Not too many English speakers on staff so brush up on your Spanish or bring Google Translate.
Laundry, gym and deck are on the 6th floor roof. Gym needs maintenance. The price is right.
- Virginia (10/5): - Great deal for the price. Clean rooms, great location and friendly staff. A bit noisy at night because of the road and you can hear whenever another guest used the sink or flushed the toilet.
- Israel Martinez (10/5): - Staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and the suites are spacious. Lots of good restaurants, shops and interesting places by walk distance around. My preferred place to stay when going to CDMX.
- Kevin (10/5): Great service and location! - Great location in Roma Norte close to border with Roma Sur. Within short walking distance of many restaurants, coffee shops and bar. I stayed in a room (not a full apartment) and everything was clean and well maintained. Both the cleaning staff and front door staff were great. No issues with outside street noise from my room on the 1st floor (they call it G floor). Only small complaint is the walls are not very sound proof, so I could hear the next door guest occasionally during my 10 night stay.
- Veronica Berenice (8/5): Affordable and convenient place to stay - It was a very well located place if you want to be close to Condesa area, walking distance to many restaurants, bars and in front of a super market. The personal was very friendly and helpful. At night there are some street noises, it is MX city so it is understandable, bring some earplugs. They are making improvements to the building, I would like to specify that our room had a small crack in the window, I hope they can take care of it. The fridge was also a little noisy. The space is bigger than a normal hotel room, it has king size bed, 2 TVs living area, it is modern. Kitchen is not prepared for cooking there, many things missing, but you will have food in restaurants very easy. Roof area is also available. It has an elevator and parking lot included
- Jazzy (8/5): - The accommodations are fantastic and location is amazing but this place does not appear to be sound proof. You can hear everything! The street noise is also notable.
- Nicole (8/5): - Large modern rooms.
No airconditioning-this was a problem last week when highs were in the low 30's C. Especially true if you're facing East. The room was a sauna by 8AM and could only eat under the one fan in the bedroom or had to leave.
- JESUS (6/5): - Everything with this property was nice except that there is no sound proof. You better bring some ear plugs or you won't be able to sleep from all the noise from the street.
- Brian T (10/5): - On the weekends there is a bar near and you can hear it. It doesn't go too late. The staff is very friendly! All of them! The guys at the front desk. The cleaning ladies. Excellent!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, but on street can be a tad noisy. TV in "living area was worthless, not even able to connect to wifi and no cable. Limited electrical outlets. Staff was great, Huge room, would stay again.
- Pam (8/5): - Good, walkable location, very nice and friendly staff, nice room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): 4/10 - Our stay here wasnt great. The room had a strange smell. Although the hotel staff did try to acommodate us, this was never resolved. The location was okay. Unfortunately we wouldnt recomend this place.
- Kerry (10/5): - Had a great 5-day stay. Excellent location!
- RUth (10/5): Amazing - Apartment style hotel with all you need or want in a hotel room. Extremely clean. Loved the location; felt more like a local neighborhood than a tourist area. Hotel amenities, such as maps, tourist information however is not part of these accommodations.
- Diana (10/5): Best gem in La Roma - I love love love this place. The location is safe and walkable to many great bars and restaurants. The hotel front desk is 24hr and the staff is incredibly nice. There’s an elevator. The water pressure is fantastic. There’s a rooftop garden for lounging and free laundry room as well! The rooms are furnished and the kitchenette is helpful. Best of all always an unbelievable price.
- Alfredo (6/5): - Apartment style but not stocked kitchen, room was not setup for 3rd person no pullout and pay for rollaway.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stay here! - This hotel is super nice and the staff was very friendly. The only issue was the water pressure in our shower. Other than that, everything was great!
- Gabriel (10/5): Awesome Hotel! Good Location! - Awesome hotel and perfect location! Definitely will stay again!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no air conditioning that I couldn’t sleep and they had no extra fans or anything to use. They need to tell you this before booking. I would like a refund.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Surprisingly nice... - Surprisingly nice...
- Gerald A (10/5): - Photos do not do this place justice. Everything was perfect! Only one issue... elevator wasn’t working when I was there, and I was on the 4th floor. So I had to get some exercise!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a very comfortable hotel and the staff was very efficient. Great staff, great location would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location for walking, good local and upscale food, shopping
- IanUtero (4/5): - It's located in Roma which is where all kinds of great restaurants, clubs, and shops are at. I stayed in a suite which provided a lot of room for a reasonable price. BUT, the beds were super uncomfortable, the room was right next to the street so it was very loud, there were stains on the comforter, the refrigerator never seemed to work, the guy at the front desk was coughing like crazy (not reassuring when the Corona Virus concerns are everywhere) and wasn't friendly at all, there is no air conditioning, the lobby seems like you're walking into a not so nice hotel but the rooms are much better, i cut my finger open sliding the closet door and was bleeding profusely...and then when asking at the front desk for a bandaid, they had nothing. I don't typically write reviews or complain really. It's Mexico. Spending a lot of time in Tijuana I don't expect things to be the same as in the U.S. I appreciate the country and it's culture. And the price was right. But there were many things about my stay that just weren't great. We asked if we could buy some water and they said they would give us two but wouldn't sell us two more. Eh...it just wasn't a great stay. Ultimately, waking up and not being able to walk upright and turn my head from such a terrible mattress was the worst thing about it. And it wasn't reassuring that the room was very clean if there were multiple stains on the comforter. I'd look for a different place to stay in the future, but in the same area.
- Margaret (8/5): Clean and comfortable - The apartment was spacious, clean and pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, we were at the back of the building with a view of a building site. We were woken every morning by noise at 8 am and this continued all day until about 6 pm making it difficult to use the very small balcony or have the sliding door open. The roof terrace was huge and the building has free laundry facilities. These are nice pluses. Breakfast is basic as is the service here.
- Sharon (8/5): We plan to return next year - Everything was perfect EXCEPT for spotty internet
and the TV wasn’t working. We requested that someone come up to connect the TV. No one came to fix it.
Our maid service was terrific. Nice and clean suite
Location perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is a very nice hotel. There was a sitting area separate from the bedroom and a kitchenette. The kitchen was not very well equipped and it would have been a challenge to cook a meal there. There were plenty of choices for breakfast, but the breakfast area was being renovated, so there really wasn't a good place to sit and eat. However, it looks like it will be a nice space once it is finished.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Rooms, BAD Breakfast - The room was spacious, clean & comfortable. Facilities are very good & a great location in Roma Norte. The low point is the Breakfast. Last year they at least attempted to cook up eggs for the guests. This year Breakfast has gone WAY down hill. Coffee was weak, sometimes cold, often missing were any packets of sugar. The best things (which were not always available every day) were fresh fruit, and "make your own" Ham Sandwiches. Practically no serving utensils so you had to use the same fork for the Ham & Fruit & Cheese... The yogurt was mostly of poor quality with artificial flavors & sweeteners. For such a nice facility this pitiful Breakfast just makes no sense at all.
- ernesto (10/5): Fin de semana en pareja - Muy bien ubicado con unas excelentes instalaciones y todo muy limpio, nos encantó
- DARIO ARTURO (10/5): Nice play to stay - A great place to stay, the Standard Apartment has everything you need for a couple of days or a week. The roof garden is great! You can take a glass of wine or dinner there.
Don’t expect too much for the breakfast, is just to have something in your stomach before leaving. The security guard wasn’t really nice, he seemed tired and never gave a smile, however the other staff members were always very nice and helpful.
- LT (8/5): - The rooms are really big with very large beds and tons of living space. Water pressure in the shower is great. Pretty basic toiletries. Tw free bottles of water per day is a nice tough. The breakfast is large but of a poor quality, really worth getting something better in the neighborhood. The main downside is that most of the rooms seem to face onto the main street and the windows aren't thick enough, so there's a lot of street noise, especially in the morning
- Linda (10/5): Modern, convenient, with helpful staff - This is an older building on a commercial street, beautifully renovated into full, modern suites. Very helpful staff, English speakers on the front desk, and super convenient location. Comfortable beds and furniture, beautiful bathrooms. Wifi occasionally uneven, but there were alternatives to switch to when one didn’t work. Continental breakfast was ok, and offered some healthy alternatives. I would happily stay there again.
- Israel (10/5): - Location is fantastic. Close to good restaurants and just in front of a shopping centre and movies theatre. Public transport near the place is very good.
- Diana (10/5): Best deal in town - Favorite place to stay when I fly in to Mexico City. They are a furnished apartment style hotel with full amenities. The location is perfect in La Roma. They’ve a roof top gym, laundry machines and patio with a view. Service is always great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was great. Our room was ready before check in time, which was a plus for us. The location was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really pretty place to stay, they have a freshly pot of coffee on the main entrance everyday, staff really nice and friendly. I will only change the towels since they are a bit old, but they were clean. Great place to stay will look forward to stay in this chain for sure again.
- Bonita (10/5): Beautiful apartments, perfect location - Great place! Beautiful apartments, well-kept and spotlessly clean, and a great location in the heart of Roma. I highly recommend it.
- Ana Isabel (10/5): Excellent location :) - Excellent place! Great location, just a few steps away from la Condesa and Alvaro Obregón. Clean and modern.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Let's start with the good. The hotel is clean and safe. It's in a good location. I would recommend it based on those considerations.
Let's continue to the bad. I booked through Expedia and I specifically booked for 2 adults and 1 child. Well, when we arrived, the front desk person told me that the room that I had booked was too small. Okay, you know the rooms, so why did you book it for me? We arrived at apx 2 a.m. in the morning due to flight delays. I went to see the room (although through Expedia, remember, you don't set the room--they place you according to your specifiations, i.e. 2 adults and one child). The room was way too small, as the bed was not big enough for the three of us and there was no other. So we had to "upgrade" to a bigger room, which was approximately $12 extra per night. Unfortunately, I am not a very confrontational person and my husband isn't either, so we ate the cost. I felt, though, like it was a classic "bait and switch."
- Zachary (4/5): Don't Stay in Room 1-2 - Reviewing the specific room of 1-2. The hotel has a great location, walk to great food/bars/music, the room was big and clean as well. The staff made it easy to check in and it was fast process. However, room 1-2 was on the busy side of the hotel right above the main Street. Unfortunately, the big windows don't block the sound and it felt like I was sleeping on the street. For me a good night sleep is my first priority and if the room was better located within the hotel it would be a better review. If you get 1-2, ask for another.
- Robert (10/5): Excellent stay in CDMX - It is an apartment, not just a hotel room. Small kitchen family room and bedroom. Was excellent. Great neighborhood and friendly staff
- Batuel C (10/5): Great location in Mexico - Great location, very good experience, everything is close and restaurants around are great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very spacious flat, great for spending a few nights in Mexico City. The staff was very helpful with booking a day trip, and we were even able to use the shower in the gym before our long flight home. The roof terrace is a nice touch as well. The historic centre is a bit far to walk to, but an Uber to get there costs next to nothing. We were able to walk to Chapultepec, and discovered two vegan taco places nearby the flat.
- Edgar (8/5): - spacious room and clean, need more ammenities and put some drinks available
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms are very spacious and well equipped. The room extremely warm, it's right in front of a main street which made it super noisy and the pillows are horrible. I couldn't sleep well at all for my entire stay here
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property is in a great location right in between Roma and Condesa, which are two beautiful neighborhoods with tons of restaurants and parks. I stayed in an apartment and it was well appointed and very spacious. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My only complaint would be that I stayed on the first floor on the street side and my room was laughably loud from all the street traffic right outside my window. I would still highly recommend staying here, just make sure you bring earplugs and download a sound machine app or else you'll have trouble sleeping.
- Sharon (10/5): Mexico City’s my favorite city - Sorry it had to end. In every way, our trip was wonderful. Mexico City is beautiful, with the architecture, the museums, the zoo, public transportation, the great restaurants and of course the generosity and kindness of the people.
- Laura (8/5): Nice, but get the King. - The hotel was perfectly adequate, clean, reasonably priced and in a great location. A matrimonio (or double) sized bed is too small for a couple. Be warned!
- Juan carlos (8/5): - Everything great but the rooms overlooking the Medellin side were VERY noisy. I would definitely stay there again if i could get a room on the other side...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It looks like the whole place is new. The owners had workers doing touch ups on scuffed up areas so they cared about the place. I was very pleased with the helpful service at the front counter. No complaints at all. There was wifi routers on every floor; therefore, the signal was strong always.
- RSC (10/5): - Place is nice and clean.
Staff is very kind and serviceable.
Good experience
- Robin (10/5): - Large and comfortable room in central location. Nice pelople at front desk and bottled water provided in the room. Coffee free in lobby. Rooms on street maybe a bit nosier. Would stay here again.
- Kevin (8/5): - This hotel is within easy walking distance of an incredible variety of vegan restaurants.
- Cristian (8/5): - Hotel was nice, clean, and modern. Beds were comfortable. Hotel was in Roma area which is very safe and has good restaurants within walking distance. We used UBER when going to further areas. One thing that upset me was that we paid for 3 people, but they kept forgetting to leave 3 towels for us. Also, I thought the continental breakfast was free and they charged me. They did not specify at check in. Other than that, great hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a nice stay. Room is spacious and clean. Staffs are kind. Location is convenient to use restaurants. but is is about 800-900 meters to metro bus stop. Hotel is located on busy street so we heard all the noise from the cars through windows until late night..
Breakfast: food is very limited and simple (egg, bread, yogurt, corn flake, cofee, milk, juice, tea, and one fruit).
Overall, it is value for the money. We would like to come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent, awesome staff, room was in perfect condition, always friendly!!
- AA (10/5): - It exceeded our expectations. Pictures don’t do it justice. It is centrally located in a great walking neighborhood. The room was very nice. It is like having your own apartment in the city. Very clean and well designed as well.
- Roxane (10/5): - New hotel, brand new furniture. My room had a large terrace. Great location, by starbucks, restaurants, bank, mall, etc. I don’t speak spanish very well but Sraff eent beyond to help me during mt stay.
Amazinf and safe location, great staff, great room, free wifi and good breakfast!
- Soheil (10/5): - Great location, very clean and spacious rooms, very friendly staff. Overall, great value for the money you pay!
- Gregory (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Fantastic hotel in a great location. It does get some street noise so be prepared for that.
- Jasmin (8/5): Excellent value - Capital Suites is an incredible find in the City ... walking distance to the Parks, restaurants of Condesa and Roma
- Nancy (2/5): Horrible experience! Stay away! - Don’t stay here! I had a horrible experience here and the receptionists are the worst. My room was freshly painted and smelled of paint. The room was uncomfortably hot, the fans in my room barely made a difference and made so much noise I couldn’t sleep. My bed was hard as a rock that my back was a complete mess the next morning, I couldn’t walk. The fridge did not work, the shower floor was freshly painted black and left black paint on my feet which I tracked all over my room. The TV did not work. When I told the receptionist to give me another room of equal or lesser value she refused and said they were booked full. So I looked online and found that this hotel had many empty rooms. She had flat out lied to me. I later spoke to a different receptionist, a male. He also told me the same thing. When I showed him the available rooms that were listed online he acted confused. He kept me waiting for over an hour while he said he would look into it when infact he wasn’t looking into it at all. These people were awful, unprofessional and lacking compassion. They had no interest in trying to help me. I was so disappointed and had to file a formal complaint with hotels.com. I do not recommend this place at all. The worst hotel I’ve ever been to on all levels. Save yourself the trouble.
- Kyle (10/5): Great hotel, friendly staff - Clean, large hotel room with very nice amenities. Would definitely stay here again.
- Diana (10/5): Great! Great! Great! - Blown away by everything this property had to offer.
Great location, modern furniture, well stocked kitchen, fantastic water pressure in the shower, free breakfast, free WiFi, beautiful roof top, excellent neighborhood, close to tons of restaurants, bars and shopping.
It’s hard to believe how much you get for what you pay but it’s great. Please tip your housekeeper and receptionist, they are super hardworking and very accommodating!
This will be the only place I stay in for my future visits to Mexico City!!
- Reuven (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - Fantastic hotel in a great city
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Not good breakfast, the bathroom has a wear smell
- Adriana (10/5): Was I dreaming. No way it was a dream come true - This was an amazing place to stay. Breakfast not so much. Not a big variety. However there is a local market 1.5 blocks away. You want to eat there. It was super clean. Best location ever. Also a $2 usd Uber ride away from the Cibeles fountain. There you can get on the Turibus. Which is the local tour bus. For about $10 USF. You can ride hipe on and off from 9am to 9pm
- JC (10/5): Excellent apartment style acommodations - This apartment-hotel is perfectly located righ on Insurgentes, and a very short walk to Condesa, Parque Mexico, Roma Norte. It not a hotel per se, it doesnt include all the hotel staff ammenities etc it functions more like apartments but this was great for what I was looking for.
- Josephine (10/5): Would totally stay here again. - Great value, spacious room. Great place to stay for a few nights.
- Thomas G (6/5): OK but not shining - This hotel mediocre and tired
The rooms on the street side are extremely noisy and no effort seems to have been made
to muffled the noise. Room is spacious and the shower works well. The neighbourhood is OK but nothing special and so is the breakfast. One could probably get a better place for the price charged
- Jasmin (8/5): - Excellent value!
- George (10/5): Great Choice For A Weekend Stay - Capital St was a very good choice for a weekend stay. The neighborhood, Colonia Roma, is safe and beautiful and the hotel quiet and clean. Our suite was spacious and comfortable although the service less than excellent. Capital St also was very reasonably priced.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Spacious apartment and good service, but a bit noisy from the street and bar next door at night.
- Enrique (8/5): Good place in Colonia Roma - Great place. Not as close to Roma's most hip places but close enough.
The hotel is very good and well maintained. The only downside was my room was on the same level as the dinning area, which can get very noisy early in the morning. Another thing that could improve is that, to my knowledge, all beds are double beds... they should go for something bigger,, at least queen size. Otherwise very good!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - Very nice and clean hotel
- Steve (8/5): Improve our breakfast and you would be perfect - simply put the best hotel I've ever stayed, the price is good, the quality of the room is top notch, better than rooms in others hotel that cost three times the price.
The only thing it is not good is the included breakfast.. Literally a cereal bowl.. But he the room and with the money you save go out for breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful value! - Beautiful hotel in a good area. Checkin was very easy and the staff were excellent. Room was very big and felt more like an apartment. Only issue would be street noise but it’s mostly just passing cars. Would absolutely stay here again.
- Benjamin (8/5): - They were working on repairing stairs in between floors which made it quite difficult to get to and from the front lobby. Otherwise, a great stay with friendly staff and complimentary breakfast and coffee, which was very nice.Very clean rooms with open floor plan.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Free continental breakfast a plus, but of poor quality an clumsily laid out.
