- Deborah (9/5): - Charlie was an excellent host and Jack of all trades made the visit lovely. Food was excellent!
- LAPPIN (9/5): -
- Gillian (9/5): - A comfortable, old style hotel with friendly and efficient staff who went out of their way to make our birthday get together stay special.
Fabulous chef especially the gluten free rolls - freshly prepared and the best I've ever tasted.
Super choice of hot and continental breakfast, freshly prepared when you arrived.
Our rooms were clean, warm and comfortable even if the hotel could do with a revamp. The menu was fairly limited for choice particularly for gluten free options.
- Jenny (9/5): A great stay in a lovely, friendly hotel. - Great welcome on arrival and our room was exactly what we needed. We were allowed to check in early so that was very helpful.
Plenty of space, a big bathroom and the hotel was well situated. The bar was lovely and the breakfast room was also nice. We were staying for a local wedding and the hotel was perfect for our needs.
The staff were lovely and this was a good hotel. Nothing! All was lovely.
- Susan (10/5): - Friendly staff
Good location for famuly wedding Nothing
- Dawn (7/5): Good location , needs some updating but staff good - Good location and good breakfast. Staff were good and showed us two rooms when checking in Shower wasn’t the best

- Catrina (8/5): Although the room was small our stay was great and the staff amazing - The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the day we arrived. Perfect for what we need as we were attending a wedding that afternoon. Our room we did feel was a little on the small side for a family of 3, our friend who also stayed had a much bigger and brighter room. The shower also wasn’t great as very little water pressure.
- Alastair (8/5): Good, small hotel with great staff & comfortable rooms - Half-board option works well, providing a decent credit towards dinner & drinks.
We were impressed by the dinner, our 3 different starters & mains were all very tasty!

- Jennifer (9/5): Comfy, friendly & would visit again. - Very friendly staff who were happy to help, and great comfy beds. Very dog friendly. Great location. The only small issue we had was the front door being locked at nights and having to disturb a member of staff to get back in. Our dogs unfortunately like an early morning toilet break. Not a big issue but a key for the front door with the room key would be handy on check in.
- Louise (8/5): We had a great stay and will definitely return when we visit our family again - The staff are super friendly and helpful, they really made our stay It’s in need of updating
- Debbie (10/5): -

- wayneb995 (6/5): Needs Improving - Me and my wife stayed for one night, the hotel has a nice Scottish decor, the staff were all very nice and welcoming. The hotel is showing it's age and needs some updating, our room was very spacious and clean, however the bathroom sealant round the bath needs replacing and the ceiling light rose cover had dropped down leaving the wires exposed. The breakfast was buffet style, sausages, BP, fried egg, bacon, tomato and beans. No options for Scrambled or poached eggs, the coffee was in a pump flask and luke warm.
We paid £115 for one night, we stayed in the Holiday Inn Express at Leigh Edinburgh the night before at a cost of £65 with a far better buffet breakfast selection, the Strathburn needs to rethink the amount they charge or update the hotel and food to match the price.
- Alison (5/5): - Central location Rooms and hotel dated, cobwebs on ceilings and mould in bathroom. Loud noise of foot steps from room above kept me awake. I would say 3* and not 4*
- Lorna (8/5): -
- paul (9/5): lovely hotel and staff, great location and value for money - good value for money, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast, good location, warm comfy room, was all good
- Peter (6/5): -
- tom (6/5): Fine and central room not very clean windows especially were dirty - Fine a central The rooms were needing updated also weren’t very clean
- Marianne (9/5): Friendly helpful staff - Perfect location
- Alison (10/5): - Arrived early, staff prioritised the cleaning of my room whilst I enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast. so I was in by 9am.
Warm comfy bed, hot water, coffee facilities. Nothing.
- Susan (9/5): - Guests enjoyed their stay and would book the hotel again. Not applicable.
- Mark (10/5): - Good location, very comfortable and clean
- John (8/5): Pleasant place to stay for a few days. - Location suited our needs perfectly. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Comfortable beds. Decent size room. Decor in rooms a bit dated.
- Trevor (7/5): -
- smN800NG (8/5): Nice atmosphere - Nice atmosphere, clean and friendly, comfy lounge and decent choice of food available. A plug for the car would have been good.
- Shirley (7/5): - Staff super helpful Uncomfortable mattress
- 8kathc (4/5): Rude receptionist - I stayed here as I was attending a family funeral and my dad had stayed here and recommended it. However, it certainly didn't live up to the recommendation. After a 5 hour drive I just wanted to get to my room and relax. As I walked into reception, the man behind behind the desk literally walked right past me. I waited for a while before ringing the bell. No response so I tried again. No luck. Went into the bar where there were 5 men, the receptionist was serving one of them. Fair enough, obviously short staffed. He finished serving then asked if anyone else wanted anything, I was stood there waiting so it was pretty obvious! I said, "Me please, can I get my room key I have been driving for 5 hours" He literally squawked at me, "Just a minute just a minute!!! I am busy!" Even though he clearly wasn't. If I could have found somewhere else at that point in time I would have walked out. I went out to get my case from the car and by the time I got back in he was at the desk. Gave me my key, I asked if I could book a seat at the restaurant, he informed me "No!! Chef is ill!!" no apology, when I asked him if there was anywhere else he vaguely waved his arm and said in the town, too far to walk. The room was very dated, in fact the whole place was shabby. There were brown mouldy stains in the bathroom. (see photos) In fact the only reason I've given 2 stars instead of 1 is the receptionist in the morning was lovely and the breakfast was good, especially the tattie scones. Not enough to make me ever want to stay there again though.
- Robert (8/5): -
- brian (9/5): Comfortable - La accueille
- Rachael (8/5): -
- Sheila (8/5): Great hotel. - Fab friendly staff really helpful and accommodating Breakfast buffet was good.
Nice bar lounge. Would have an upstairs room next time as early risers above us for work woke us up daily.
- Paul (5/5): - After returning home I was welcomed with a parking ticket for £100 for parking at hotel. Why take your registration plate at reception if you then have to prepay parking from someone else without even knowing
- Steven (8/5): -
- Julia (8/5): Friendly comfortable and convenient - Good breakfast, comfortable and friendly staff
Rear facing room was quiet Rooms are small
- Marie (8/5): Only stayed one night and cannot fault it - Our room was on the ground floor nice and spacious ,the bed was very comfortable
Breakfast was good
- Tiffany (10/5): -
- Brian (8/5): A lovely relaxing stay with fantastic breakfasts and staff - Breakfast were delicious and staff were lovely. A great experience Nothing
- Mathew (10/5): -
- Stephen (2/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Staff friendly,room clean - Didn’t have breakfast
Location was good I feel the rooms are a bit tired but still a good hotel
- Kirsty (5/5): - I liked the staff they were nice! The hotel in general needs an update it’s very dated. The bathroom had mould around it. Our room was the superior one and the walls looked pretty run down scratches/ marks and a hole in the door. The window looking outside was filthy. The place also smelled a bit foosty.
- Ian (7/5): - Staff were friendly Musty smell in room , mould and peeling paintworkto ceiling. Rooms need updated.
- Brian (10/5): -
- Michael (6/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff. A bit dated. - Friendly and helpful receptionists.
Warm room on arrival, plenty tea and coffee within room. Large double bed was 2 singles pushed together with single duvets.
Very squeeky flooring.
Not much hot water for shower after 9pm, with low shower water pressure. Quite dusty in places with blacking around shower tiles.
- Ellie (9/5): Very welcoming and great place to stay - Very warm and welcoming
Got car stuck in the snow and the manger went above and beyond to help get me out N/A
- Brian (10/5): -
- SUSAN (9/5): - Staff were excellent, helpful and accommodating, especially with the snowy weather The hot water in the room was not available for a bath for most of the stay- water pressure seemed very poor.
- Joan (8/5): Good location for visiting family - The staff were excellent, in particular Barry. He always had a smile on his face, and made time to talk to the guests. The poached eggs at breakfast were cooked to perfection! The rooms were adequate although a little dated. A la carte breakfast would save on wastage!
- George (8/5): Good value - Cosy Nothing
- Dave (8/5): -
- Lesley (8/5): Booked for family as near us, very happy with room. - Cozy
- 392jennij (10/5): Clean, quiet and good food - Stayed here between Christmas and New Year on a one night business trip. Amazingly large, warm room with a really comfortable bed and spotlessly clean (despite reading other reviews). As the hotel was so quiet, the manager, whose name I did not get chatted to me for ages, really lovely man and my fish and chips were wonderful. As a solo female traveller, there were plenty of plug sockets in the room, and a great shower.
Breakfast was hot, good selection and nice receptionist. I'd absolutely stay here again.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very convenient to us when visiting family. - Continental side of breakfast good, cooked breakfast a little dried out when not many guests are in hotel. Rooms starting to get a little bit tired but on the whole homely feel to the hotel.
- Margaret (6/5): It was perfect for what we needed - We where the for one night as my son live in Inverurie and we were going on holiday so it was perfect for that Room was bit dusty next the bed where the phone and light was
- Adam (8/5): - Friendly staff, very helpful. There was used underwear left in the cupboard, and don't expect the room to be cleaned as in for 2 nights, but maybe check for toilet paper?, we had to ask for some on the second night., my wife's breakfast on the second morning wasn't great, part raw egg, they replaced it with a good egg, but the replacement sausages were hardly cooked, but they didn't charge us for one breakfast.
- Jill (10/5): Highly recommend and will be back - Everything was over and above our expectations. The food was very nice and so were the staff.
- Martinelli (8/5): - Very friendly and hospitality was exceptional The beds was very uncomfortable
- Morag (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and will be back - We had a quiet room which was clean and bed comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was tasty.
- alison (8/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): -
- Dode (9/5): First class plus friendly helpful staff. - First class service and food.
Comfy bed. Signage for parking.
- john (10/5): Enyjoyed my three nights at the Strathburn. Great location stones throw from Inverurie town centre and short drive into - Quiet. Good location and very cosy
- Christine (10/5): Relaxing comfortably and friendly - Lovely entrance warm and a nice feel of home from home Everything
- Jonathan (9/5): Excellent stay. - Very friendly
- Jonathan (9/5): Excellent stay. - Very friendly.
- Liese (10/5): -
- Mark (4/5): O.K but I would try somewhere else next time - The bed was comfrtable and the room was large No wifi and the room was a few years past havinh been last decorated
- Burkinshaw (5/5): Poor standard not what is expected for the rating of the hotel. - Staff reasonably friendly. No hot water in the room, staff attempted to move us but no other room available.
Beds uncomfortable, furniture dated, noisy from early morning with creaking floorboards and noisy guests then housekeeping entered the room whilst we were all still in bed.
- Eric (7/5): Comfortable - Very quiet and peaceful Icy car park
- Duncan (10/5): - Staff were very friendly and helpful plus room was nice and clean and cosy.
- David (7/5): Short and serviceable - Cosy and comfortable. Good hot shower. Wifi wasn't working the night I was there, and the TV was buffering. No big deal though. I can always read a book.
- Mark (4/5): - Place was dated with substandard furniture and beds. Hot water was Luke warm at best so could not have a bath. Staff were not the friendliest and quite abrupt As above
- C8379IRWJ (2/5): Really disappointing - I recently stayed at the Strathburn and will not return. On our first evening we dined in the hotel. The menu is small and despite us phoning ahead and booking a table for 10 people they only had one portion of fish and chips. We therefore opted for the burger but they did not have enough of this for us all. The two different meals I received were inedible and had to be returned. The food was greasy and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil.
As you can see from the photos the rooms are tired with items soiled, broken or ripped. The bed linen and towels were however nice and clean. One of our party had no heating in their room so had to borrow a portable heater from the receptionist. Most of the staff were polite and friendly.
- Steven (1/5): -
- Grzegorz (10/5): -
- Victor (9/5): - As ever an easy check-in by Sharon with no problems at all. Nothing to dislike, a room with a view.
- Steph (10/5): - The location was ideal for the purpose of the stay.
- Ekaterina (10/5): - Great location, amazing and big room
