- Philip (9/5): - The staff were the most hospitable Food
- Nishanth (1/5): Time waste to come here - We swam during safari as the truck couldn’t handle the rain
Overpriced for nothing
Food was overpriced for taste
1 Food was cancelled and we still got it
It had no Wifi and no smart TV
Because of rain they turned out wifi Nothing much to say
- RAYMOND (10/5): A relaxing and enjoyable stay with great comfort, warm hospitality, and memorable experiences. - I especially liked the comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A bit of a better visible signage along the stretch would help guide guests more easily to the property.
- Vijay (9/5): -
- Isabelle (10/5): Vraiment agréable - Lieu paisible
Belle installation ; piscine superbe, belle vue du bar et restaurant, belle décoration
Belle grande chambre et salle de bain
Super service et nourriture exceptionnelle
- Rebecca (9/5): Fabulous special location, great facilities and a very unique experience. - Amazing part of India - fabulous views, beautiful property, lots to do but also lots of peace and quiet to allow for rest and relaxation. Good food and drink options. We used the pool, the games room, the nature walk and mountain bike riding - all great to do and the countryside is amazing around the resort. Truly spectacular views up to the mountains of Ooty. Loads of deer and peacocks wandering the grounds. Big rooms and lots of space. Lighting was my one piece of feedback. The low level lighting was so low in the bathrooms that I couldn’t see - had to use my torch phone for makeup and grooming. No full length mirror anywhere in the log cabin rooms - small details easy to fix!
Great pool table but only one pool q that had a tip on it - the others were all broken. Hope that they can get those small things upgraded for an even more amazing stay.
- Thomas (9/5): Relaxing, beautiful, bucolic and a great way to experience local nature! - Everyone at the hotel was very accomodating and our stay was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of our visit to Chennai. We were always greeted warmly and the staff was eager to assist. The property itself was beautiful and bucolic. Not only was there jungle around, but we were next to a charming farming village. Peacocks and spotted deer were frequently seen and we also spied some dhole on a nature walk! The naturalist at the property, Sreekanta, was an incredible guide in helping us discover the local birds and other flora and fauna. The only real complaint is that the filter coffee at breakfast was not that good.

- Gaurav (4/5): very disappointing - staff was very warm & courteous felt cheated as i was not informed that safari has been cancelled due to govt order when they followed up for full advance payment on 10th Nov for check in on 14th. purpose of visit to the forest resort was defeated.
- gourav (7/5): Was overall a good stay. - It’s very peaceful. Considering it’s a CCD property, you would expect better coffee. The gym and spa can have better WiFi.

- Lynette (9/5): A serene escape into nature made unforgettable by the outstanding team, especially Chethan. - The location is beautiful, peaceful, and set right in the midst of nature. The highlight of our stay was the guided nature walk with Chethan. He was more informative and engaging than any of the safari guides we met. His deep knowledge of the local flora and fauna, his patience in answering all our questions, and the way he made the walk come alive were exceptional. He is an absolute superstar and a real asset to the property. There is nothing significant to note. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.
- Sudhakar (9/5): Nothing much to do in the property - Cleanliness Spa not equipped with proper staff
- Viswanathan (10/5): -
- Sidharth (9/5): Relaxing and amazing - Amazing location, spacious room and really great vibes. There is a single restaurant in the resort which is justifiably expensive, but very well worth every penny. Be it the breakfast or any item from the menu, it was well prepared, and generously portioned. Most such resorts do a very subpar job when it comes to food offerings inside the resort, but not this place. Paired with the location and ambiance of the place, the good food made our stay all the more worth it. The pool could use better upkeep
- Anshul (7/5): Good -
- Sabita (9/5): Superb -
- Shah (10/5): Exceptional - Location and environment
- Lhgowda (7/5): Good -
- Kate (10/5): Wow wow wow - Wow. Liked everything. An excellent base for safaris in Mudumalai and Bandipur. All staff so polite and professional. Exceptional place. Our log hut was huge and what a lovely view from our sit out balcony. Food was excellent and still dreaming of my cucumber cooler cocktail! The pool was beautiful - great colour of tiles! Also loved our nature walk. I've fallen in love with the birds of India! Huge thanks to all the team

- R (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vijesh (10/5): Peaceful and Awesome Stay in Nature !!! - The rooms are super clean and well maintained. Staff are extremely courteous and always greet all their customers with a smile. The hospitality was top notch and it made our stay even more comfortable. Kudos to the entire staff and management at The Serai Bandipur for being such an amazing host. Will definitely recommend others and would visit again too!! None
- Pavan (9/5): Superb -
- Deepak (5/5): Good resort but not for safaris - Staff are really helpful. Resort is very well maintained. Food is very good Serai will not be able to arrange jeep safari which is the main part in a national park. If safari is your priority, this will not work. We were not able to get any good safari
- Subramaniam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pinar (8/5): A beautiful nature resort - Very nice views, location, serene and just beautiful. Everything worked out fine, they take care of the guests.
- Upendra (8/5): Very good -

- Plavika (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay
- Nilesh (9/5): Superb -
- Benjamin (10/5): - A beautiful resort located just four hours from Bangalore, The Serai left us thoroughly impressed with its stunning gardens and remarkable architecture, showcasing a perfect blend of stone and wood. Our courtyard room offered a spectacular view of the Nilgiris from its deck, adding to the serene ambiance.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, with special mentions to Rateesh, Navas, and Arun for their outstanding service. For those seeking a quick, quiet, and serene getaway, The Serai is an ideal choice.
While the resort offers a variety of activities, we found that the jungle safari didn't quite measure up to others we have experienced around the world. However, the overall experience at The Serai more than made up for it.
Thank you folks at The Serai, for making it a memorable 2 night stay for us!
- Hakan (10/5): - Wonderful property where you enjoy nature, quietness and wonderful food. Very boutique, elegant and a must-stay place. Location is also great as almost inside the natural park. Thank you
- Venkatakrishnan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sudhish (10/5): Weekend getaway - I loved the location the spa the layout of the property as well as the staff and service . The views as well as the sit-out in our room was cherry on the cake. Special shout-out to Rathish from the spa. Very positive personality and excellent service at the spa which I highly recommend
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vijayaraju (4/5): Overall it was Disappointing for us and over priced. - Property was good and the design of the courtyard was good. The food quality was poor not up to 5 star rating
And the food quality was poor and below average.
The day would have been planned well as we were locked in the resort for whole day. Overall the days became unorganised and lazy.
On reaching, we were charged extra for our kid which was not mentioned as we do not have option I had to pay 8.2k for extra bed
- V (8/5): Good stay - The accommodation and stay Food could have more options.
Pathway lighting can be improved.
Prices can be a bit more reasonable.
- Siva (10/5): Outstanding stay. Will visit again! - Breakfast was excellent and the food was really tasty. There were both standard Indian fare and the Karnataka ethnic cuisine on offer and we really enjoyed every meal at the facility The Log Hut was maintained really well but due to the nature of the construction of the Log Hut, we had squirrels coming into the room. This caused a bit of disturbance to us. However, we understand the efforts that the staff put into the maintenance of the room and the helpful nature. They responded immediately whenever a squirrel was discovered in the room and humanely removed the animal, releasing it to the outside environment.
- Gagandeep (10/5): - Bandipur was excellent though the approach road can be improved - but that is the matter for the state. My brother's AC conked off and it took some time to respond to it. But overall a great place just like Serai KAbini river.
We were lucky to see a tiger on the safari.
- Bhishampal (7/5): Good -
- Laby (5/5): Average and overpriced stay - The staff and service was good. They were very helpful on things that were asked. They were polite and understanding. The room was not fully furnished as per the price and 5 start ranking. The food was average. Facilities were very limited and not maintained. The road to resort was very bad. The lighting in the entire resort including rooms could have been better. Minimal lights were provided. There were very limited activities for guests.
- Anand (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anjalisajeesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petra (9/5): Superb - Wonderful peaceful place
Good restaurant
Close to tiger reserve
Nice staff It was not possible to pay online with foreign cards (not even via booking.com) and the stay had to be paid in advance
- Carolina (9/5): Luxury hotel in the middle of bandipur national park! - Amazing hotel with all you can ask for - beautiful scenery, attentive staff and beautifully decorated. The food was very nice and the safari option is a great plan to spend your day. Booking through booking.com didn’t work so well - they reject the card as booking certificate and then ask you for a direct payment before you arrive. It feels a bit outdated and I would have preferred to pay on arrival or through a secure link.
- Lokesh (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharath (9/5): Superb -
- Aadya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fionnuala (6/5): safari trips a highlight - safari experience was excellent, this was not organised by the resort staff disorganised, house keeping disorganised, poor communication between staff, m;ountain biking advertised at resort, but not available, evening bonfire did not happen every day. food very average. We were overcharged at the resort for our final bill and had to address this at check out. The extra bed that we paid for in one room was a mattress on the floor, which was for an adult.
- Purushotham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (6/5): Nature and silence, out of the Indian cities. - This is my 2nd stay. The place is very quiet and located in beauty of nature. Road to the hotel especially last part is like night mare ... not recommended for normal cars. Staf is very helpful but this is rather normal in India. Restaurant has absolutely not acceptable dirty arm chairs. This same about food serving. In general it's not 5 stars place rather 3. Hope that they work to be better because the place in beautiful. Not acceptable restaurant cleanliness. It was need to have two time technical service, with electricity and with plumbing.
- Charlotte (7/5): Lovely hotel just a couple of small things would make it excellent - Breakfast was good and in a nice location. Staff were very helpful and courteous. The safari was easy to book. The rooms and verandas were spacious and comfortable. There were free snacks which was good. It would be better if food was available before 8pm as we were getting up before 5am to go on safari. You cannot even order room service before this. It would also be good if there was a mirror in the main room, as there was just one in the bathroom.
- Siddhant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amrita (9/5): Superb - Beautiful property and beautifully decorated rooms in a mesmerising natural setting. Everything about our stay was exceptional- food, staff, cleanliness, location.
- Siva (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent service. Staff went out of their way to make my aged parents comfortable. Everything was taken care of. There is nothing that we did not like at the resort.
The approach road is rough, but they are doing everything they can to make it better.
- Adithya (7/5): Decent place but definitely not a great value for money. - There were a lot of lizards that frequently entered the bathroom through some openings and some entered the room from the bathroom. I also spotted a few insects. Guess that’s also wildlife so we’re supposed to expect it? If you’re charging big bucks for your cottages please do your due diligence.
The pool had a lot of chlorine and I wouldn’t recommend it.
- Pvsn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kartikeya (7/5): Good -
- Cdojackson (8/5): Great hotel - Staff were amazing. The rooms were beautiful and the cleanest ones we had on our trip. Spotless. Great facilities at the hotel too. Pool, bar and restaurants were great. food was fantastic and with a great choice. 2 out of the 5 of us ended up with a bad stomach and considering that we hadnt left the resort, it must have been from something we ate there.
- Joshi (9/5): Superb -
- Sunita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sriram (10/5): Exceptional - Away from normal routine no Internet or phone calls Road to the property
- Nd (9/5): Superb -
- Nikhil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashmitha (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible service - The service is bad and the staff are extremely rude.
Information provided is incorrect and attitude is unacceptable. Especially the front office reception.
- Dhwani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amritpal (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the place. Anish was exceptional and went out of the way to make our stay pleasant.
- Sairam (4/5): Resort needs to figure out there USP for charging the premium. - Secluded. But not seeing any benefit for value for money . As it’s 3x compared to a near by resort Paying a premium is fine, but need to get the value for money. Not seeing that in this property .
- Abdul (4/5): Not worth for the exorbitant tariffs. - Check out time for this property is 11am!.
Despite our persistent requests to extend the check out time for an hour,it was not accepted. The concerned staff were not cooperative and friendly.
- Raghavendra (10/5): Must visit - It was an amazing experience. Very well maintained.
Staff were V good and compassionate.
- Saranya (10/5): Exceptional - The hospitality, the attention to detail, the food all of it was surprisingly maintained to the T. We had a lovely time and will definitely visit again.
- Rahul (6/5): Good - The food , the resort was good The road connectivity is very very bad
- Sandeep (8/5): Accommodation & ambiance is excellent no doubt . Food is very expensive. Be careful with the menu - Stay & ambience … so peaceful stay Very expensive for food … breakfast is free … what about lunch & dinner … veg Briyani is 450 Rs ( approx ) chicken Briyani 600 Rs … be careful with food . As it is too expensive… it’s not worth to pay that expensive for food . Food is also not that great , I can say it’s average… there is say , something is better than nothing … that doesn’t mean , you can charge what ever you want . If anyone wants bills which I paid , let me know , I can send it. In terms of food , I say , it’s a wrong choice to stay in this resort . Nothing is fresh , it’s all frozen. Please don’t try fish & mutton . It’s worst . Chicken atleast it’s good to eat & most important, then don’t have choice in the menu also. So, foodies stay away … I guarantee you guys , you definitely think of me !!! Lol .
- Ashish (6/5): - We stayed at the Log hut for 1 night on 31st May. The room was pretty run down and the bathroom had a strange smell throughout our stay. We mainly stayed in Bandipur for the safaris and the 2 safaris we went on, we saw only elephants. No movement of tigers unfortunately. Ofcourse it’s all luck.
The bf spread was ok.
I would’ve typically given the room 2 stars but gave 1 extra star for the service provided. The staff were prompt if we asked anything. Service at restaurant was also really good.
- Mamnag (8/5): Amazing property, but...... - The overall property is so strategically located and so well maintained. Excellent bed room and everything else in it.
Sit out was just so amazing listening to the chirping of birds and interesting nature sounds.
Excellent food at the restaurant and staff are so well behaved.
Naturalist is a great value, makes the nature walk and the safari so much more interesting.
The Greenery in the property is so amazing, feels so good to be in the lap of nature amidst so much luxury 🥰 Bathroom - atleast the ones that we were assigned. Faucets were so old and clunky, loose, with lot of hard water stains. Wash basin tap was coming off, both hand and overhead showers were not working properly. Lack of shower curtain makes the whole bathroom messy and slippery.
Pool cleanliness can be improved, lot of mud/ dust.
Dressing area light wasn't working. Had to get it fixed.
Wifi was not at all working, that I missed a work call and even the dongle provided was just 2mbps and very sloppy.
- Nischal (9/5): One of the best properties that I have been to off late. Overlooking the Nilgiri hills and located inside the forest buf -
- Gautam (7/5): Good -
- Karthik (8/5): Very good -
- Maxime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ranjani (9/5): great stay.. loved the food. - Excellent variety and quality. The nature tour guide Aneesh and the waiter in the restaurant (Madhesh) were very courteous. took good care of us. Wifi issue and housekeeping staffs were little slow
