- EG-traveler-husband (8/5): Perfect New Years get away for couples. - My wife and I wanted to escape from New Year's crowds and end of the year hassle. The Inn's Of Aurora was the perfect choice to do nothing, see no one and simply relax. The Town of Aurora has nothing to see and nothing to do in December except for the beautiful Inns and its fabulous SPA. It is the perfect getaway for couples. We stayed at the main Inn. Room 01 on the first floor. This building has three stories and 10 rooms. Our room was facing the street. The place is kept in pristine condition. Super clean and cozy. It feels like staying at your grandmother's house but clean and stylish. The rooms have a fireplace that is easily operated with a remote control. The room was ample and comfortable with a delicious king size bed, a nice desk and various lounge seating options. The room had an ample wardrobe closet. The bathroom was also ample with lots of storage space and hangers. Nice details included a set of binoculars and a birdwatching book guide, delicious dark chocolate by your bed in a nice metal tray with an inspirational quote in a printed card. All thoughtful details. There is an area of opportunity in the room's AV department. The TV remote control is clumsy. TVs are awkwardly positioned in the room and streaming options are limited to YouTube. Mirroring your phone on the TV is not possible. Adding streaming capabilities would be a great improvement. Every morning, there is fresh coffee and pastry bars in the corridor. Another wonderful amenity. The housekeeping staff was fantastic. There is no lobby or check-in area in the Main Inn. However, the town's only restaurant is located on the main floor. The food was always good. There is a bar in the main dining area. Service during New Year's dinner was a bit hectic but always polite and friendly. The SPA is spectacular. This review doesn't include the SPA. But the main reason to visit Aurora in Winter is to enjoy an extraordinary experience in a stunning SPA. Do not miss it. We will definitely be back in the Fall. Where outdoor activities can be added to the Inn's experience.

Unfortunately, our visit yesterday left me extremely disappointed, particularly with the facial I received. The staff member who performed my facial did not appear professional or adequately prepared. She spent an excessive amount of time setting up equipment and did not demonstrate the level of skill or confidence I would expect from a spa of your reputation. As a result, the service felt disorganized and far below the standard I have come to expect from your establishment. What added to my frustration was discovering, upon checkout, that a 20% gratuity had been automatically added to my bill—amounting to an additional $50 for a service that was unquestionably subpar. While I fully understood and accepted the original $250 charge, adding such a substantial gratuity for an unsatisfactory experience felt completely unreasonable.

It’s a strange thing really, because the hotel pays so much attention and at great expense, to so many details otherwise.

- timmy13Syracuse (4/5): A major disappointment! - I can only review the restaurant. My wife and I have been eating at the Aurora Inn Spring, Summer, and fall for at least twenty years. We traveled the usual hour to get there today only to be very disappointed for the first time. Clearly, things have changed in the kitchen, along with the menu. My wife ordered a glass of local wine and a bowl of crab and corn soup which were excellent. Unfortunately the bowl of soup contained less than a cup of soup and was priced at $16.00. I ordered a breakfast croissant with bacon, cheese, and scrambled eggs. It came with crispy Yukon potatoes. My croissant had been well salted but was marginally edible. Unfortunately the potatoes were covered with salt and were not edible. My wife commented that I am very salt tolerant and that they were probably not acceptable to most people. We have enjoyed the drive and the food over the years but things have clearly changed. To top off the experience, our server only returned to our table with our drinks, after taking our order and not again until long after we had finished our brunch. I had hoped for a coffee refill!

Attention to detail was amazing as well! Even simple little things such as a light in the closet, info on how much caffeine was in the coffee pod, firepit lit at night with supplies for smores, best granola bar I've ever had. It was one of the best vacations I've had in a long time. If you want a quiet getaway I'd definitely recommend Inns of Aurora!

- Eric (10/5): - This place offers a small town atmosphere and is a great place to get away and relax. They offer complimentary activities and paid activities so you'll always have something to do. The spa is absolutely amazing. As long as you scheduled a service, you can spend all day relaxing by the pool or take a nap upstairs in single person cabana. They offer complimentary soup and salad and other paid meals as well. My wife and I loved this place and plan to return again.
- Jmart122014 (10/5): Wonderful Stay at Inns of Aurora - Wonderful experience at the Inns of Aurora! Our Zabriskie House room was perfectly comfortable and clean. The common rooms in the rest of the Inn were a great spot to relax, converse, or read a book. The staff at checkin were welcoming and informative. Highly recommend the Spa. Our massages were relaxing, but the included hydrotherapy and cafe services were the highlight. The Spa staff were outstanding in service! We cannot wait to come back and stay at another one of the Inns!

Its very serene and the people are friendly. The property is very clean and has all the facilities you need. They also set up a nice bonfire with hot chocolate and smores freebies. It was a magical experience. I wish we can also experience the fulness of spring, summer and autumn someday which I foresee that it is going to be well-spent. None

King size bed with sitting area in bumped out oversized window with great light and views. Enjoyed the fireplace and large en suite bathrooms with heated floors during 18degree winter getaway! Wandered the village and highly recommend the market and 1833 Kitchen as part of the resort. Had a fantastic Spa experience with lots of natural light, tremendous indoor and outdoor pools and eucalyptus steam room, and reinvigorating cold plunge for the brave!

- O9753PSmargarets (6/5): Overpriced, average service, and not 5-stars - The stay at Aurora was a little disappointing. We booked 7 days before our stay. A lot promised but most things fell short. The house and room were lovely and clean. The mattress was too well worn and should have been replaced a while ago. They moved us to a smaller room but the mattress was no better. The advertised "hot" coffee in the house sitting area was lukewarm and there was no table cream or milk despite the refrigerator. We warmed our coffee with the microwave. We never got to see the spa because there was no space despite a three night stay and one week lead time. The best we were offered was one facial at 9 am and one reflexology in mid afternoon on a Monday. Instead, we traveled 30 minutes to Mirbeau Inn and Spa for an afternoon package of lunch and body/facial treatments. Mirbeau spa was excellent and worth the drive. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Without the spa at Aurora, there is nothing to do in the winter. They did have a yoga session daily but there were no other activities. We did not use the restaurant because there was no reason to stay at the hotel during the day. Aurora staff responded to issues as if scripted so there was no help there. Having stayed at many 5-star resorts and spas, I can honestly say Aurora is overpriced and is not in their league. A lot of corners cut and it was noticeable.

Perfectly manicured by the groundskeepers, there is no garbage or litter to be found anywhere, no gum on the sidewalks…. an old picturesque small town, and nothing about it is rundown! Our rooms were beautifully modernized with a gorgeous bathroom and very comfortable bed. Every detail for your stay has been considered. Aurora is a special hidden gem! We had the most romantic stay, and have already recommended it to many of our friends. Well removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life, a stay at the Inns of Aurora is the perfect getaway. Immerse yourself within their perfectly curated bubble of bliss…. it is truly an unforgettable experience!

Lou who cooked for us at Aurora Cooks is a huge asset to the Inns of Aurora. Everything, and I mean everything, exceeded our expectations! Brava, Inns of Aurora!

- carolyng2017 (8/5): Lovely setting but the Fifth Star requires better service at this price - Wonderful anniversary evening at the Inns. 4/5 covers the inn, spa, and dining experience based on the price. TLDR: For the price, they need to provide more in service. We spent $1,800 for one night stay, two people had one spa service (spent all day at the spa) and one dinner for two. Kind of crazy. But, we loved the spa and our massages were probably the best we ever had. We had wonderful weather so the setting was really lovely. For that price here are the fixes needed. 1) I will separately review the resturant 1855 but it is only fine. 2) the waterfront access/activities are not intuitive. there is no one staffed at the waterfront to help with boats or directions. its too far to have people get boats from the conceige; 3) the breakfast is insufficient, only a nespresso pod in your room (our machine didn't work) and a granola bar. Even the least expensive european hotels have a cappucino machine and granola/yogurt spread; and 4) Obviously the staff is trying to be accomodating but they are a little rough around the edges (especially the younger waitresses).

The location of the Inn and the way it is set up made my visit very special. It's a place that you will want to go back to time and again for special occasions.

Amazing discount for teachers (hint!) and so it seemed like an easy decision. Overall, was really nice and just a lovely little place to run off to!

Everything is top notch, five-star, first class, attention to detail and absolutely fabulous! A day at the spa is something you won’t want to miss. Learn about the top to bottom renovation and re-building of this adorable town and its stately mansions you can stay at. Not to mention the BEAUTIFUL Cayuga Lake this resort sits on… you won’t regret the decision to visit here.

- valeriesE7361YG (6/5): Disappointed - Beautiful spot and location however I am comparing my visit in October 2023 to my visit this weekend. They have dropped the in house hosts that helped you get settled and offered you wine and cheese in the house. They also took away the continental breakfast that was provided in house daily that gave you reasons to be in the houses living and dining areas. The feeling of the houses is now empty and desolate. The magic of the place has disappeared. Walking to 1883 for breakfast and wine and cheese will surely be a freezing g cold jaunt in the winter. I think they really missed the mark on guest experience. Lou at Aurora Cooks was as fantastic as she was the first time we came and the spa is top notch. The staff are pleasant and accommodating . If you choose to buy coffee at the Village Market they were only offering oat milk and no creamer which was strange and could be an easy fix to start someone’s day off on the right foot. The TV in our room was also non functional. For the price point of the rooms we unfortunately will not be back. We are sad that they have cut the guest experience and raised prices.

- Frans (10/5): Absolutely terrific. - What a lovely place. What a gem Aurora Inn is. Also the restaurant by the lake was very nice. We loved having breakfast on the terrace and enjoying the scenery, food and service. Would love to come back, but as we are from the Netherlands and there is still a lot of the USA to be discovered we may not be so lucky. Don't forget to visit the SPA (go by car). Nothing.
- Jess (10/5): - Inns of Aurora is a beautiful property, we stayed in the Zabriskie House and it was gorgeous. Beautiful room, the day bed for our 9 year old was ideal. We loved that we could have smores at the fire pit right outside the house. We took advantage of the kayaks and nature hikes on the property and both were great. We did try to rent bikes but they only had adult sizes (which I get because it's not really a family resort) so my son was too small to ride. He was bummed but it didn't ruin the day. Also worth noting that the staff is wonderful, everyone was kind and helpful. I hope we can stay again soon.
