Guest Reviews
- James (6/5): It’s OK - Location good. Relatively easy access. Cleaning in a few places (stairs, shower, toilet) may need a bit more attention
- Craig (10/5): -
- Nick (9/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): Clean, comfy, and close to the Mountain Railway. - Nice big room, comfy bed, tea & coffee, decent shower. Clean and warm.
Really close to Snowdon Mountain Railway.
Easy walk to several food options. I didn't see a soul, all the time I was there. It's just weird, having contactless check-in.
The heating was very noisy, even when turned off! There's no shower mat in room 1, so you have no choice but to make the floor wet.
Towels are too small, a common occurrence.
- Amos (8/5): - Location is great - on the high street, with a bar downstairs and other eateries closeby. It is also a short work to the Llanberis trail for a hike up to Yr Wyddfa, as well as the stations for highland and lake railways. The rooms are quite a tight fit. I used the single room, barely bigger than the bed. It was good calue though as all I needed was a bed.
- Simone (7/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): - Excellent location, clean, comfortable, well priced
- Benjamin (8/5): Great location for climbing Snowdon - Great location. Good quality room. Reasonably priced. Electric shower was poor quality, either scolding hot or freezing cold.
- Paul (2/5): Dissapointed - Room, Tiny.
Bathroom, Ridiculously small.
No Breakfast, No meal on Sunday night!
- Samantha (10/5): - The convenience of it. Parking at property. Everything I needed for a solo trip. Would have loved breakfast
- James (8/5): Overall good value for money. Great location. Easy self check-in/check-out. -
- Jones (6/5): Ok - Location Cleanliness, messy dirty and smelly 'reception' area. Moldy shower. View out of window of overflowing bins and junk.
- MGN (7/5): Clean spacious basic room with nice large TV - Good location. Spacious room. Nice big TV. Short bed. Too small for anyone over 6'. Cooking smell in landing. Bathroom a bit cramped. Could have done with fresh towels and milk sachet top-up as a 2 night stay.
- Vitor (6/5): -
- Bettylou (8/5): -
- EDUARDA (6/5): Served the purpose to have a bed to sleep at night - Location was good but there are so many other charming villages which are also well located that I’m not sure if the location is a definite pro The rooms were incredibly small? There’s no lounge to chill, and the bathroom had black mold around the corners
- Appleby (7/5): A good value for money stay. - The location met our expectations. The tea and coffee could have been replenished on a daily basis.
- Sheryl (9/5): Perfect for our Snowdon climb - Great location. Served its purpose, clean and comfortable enough. Check in at 5 pm. Bed was very hard and pillows not great.
- Heidi (4/5): I was only there for the mountains so it was incidental but price was far too high for lack of amenities - The location The check in time is too late. The staff - what staff?!? The double room was very small. And the bathroom clearly was formally a wardrobe / cupboard. You could not dry yourself in the bathroom and the sink is far too small.
- Guy (8/5): -
- Linsey (8/5): -
- Benjamin (7/5): It was very nice and clean, though I would have preferred being welcomed by at least someone. - Very clean and nice room, roomy with big window No staff available
- Andrew (8/5): It did the job for one night -
- Howell (9/5): - No contact check in was very convenient. Staff were responsive over email during our stay. It's over a pub and there was bingo the first evening which we could hear.
- Tom (9/5): I recommend this to anyone staying in the area. The room is modern and clean, the restraunt downstairs is very good qual - Everything was clean, tidy and noise was kept to a minimum. The mini fridge in the room was also really appreciated. N/A
- Carol (8/5): Weather was beautiful and the town was alive and lively - The keyless security worked well. Being above the restaurant was very convenient and the meal we had exceeded our expectations. It was very good. The shower and bathroom were very small, but they worked.
- Guest (7/5): -
- mark (8/5): perfect for a solo traveller - Great location in centre of village. Easy check in and out Nothing to complain about
- Jack (6/5): Good value and great location - Location was amazing and ease of booking check in etc Bathroom wasn’t particularly clean. Hairs in the shower
- Kaj (9/5): Practical stay for outdoors activities - Central, near to public transportation, restaurants and services. Quiet, good beds, shower, fridge and kettle. Pub-restaurant just downstairs. Public spaces outside the room a bit worn out.
- TaraMary (8/5): Perfect for all I needed it for. - Perfect location. Room was great with kettle and mini fridge. Was just myself so good size. And loads of teas, coffees, sugars than normal! Extra blanket as I was cold and room heated up fast. Pillows were only ok. Sink was a little hard to get into to wash your face (think it was the hand soap fixed to wall that was in the way) but manageable all the same.
- caridad (7/5): -
- Sangam (7/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Very good - Good location and nice room As mentioned to one of the staff the shelf above the wash basin inhibitor washing in the basin.
- Joanna (8/5): Value for money, clean, comfortable and good for lone travellers. - Comfortable and clean. Hot shower was good. Super helpful in arranging early check-in - much appreciated. Hairdryer didn't work.
- Woodburn (10/5): No fuss, fantastic accommodation - Fuss free check in, great parking options, central location, clean quiet and comfortable room. Tiny bathroom but for one night it was more than adequate
- Eugene (8/5): -
- Anthony (7/5): - Location Clean and tidy
- katy (10/5): - Amazing location, about a 5 minute walk from the Llanberis path. For a solo traveller it was perfect: I had an en-suite, kettle and working flat screen tv in my room and a very comfortable bed. Also above a pub that served great food. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again!!
- Janeane (7/5): Convenient location as we did the train trip - We didn’t have breakfast but had dinner which was good
- LEE (8/5): Great location and comfortable but 5pm check in needs changing. - Located in the high street, 100 metres from the railway and walking distance to bars and restaurants Check in at 5pm is outrageous (never seen that so late anywhere in the world). If you going to put that restriction on day one, and kick out at 10:30am, then you need to reduce the fee for multiple night bookings because you have 7 hours before midnight, wake up, and clear out.
There is parking for max 4 cars. Behind hotel and 7 rooms, so be prepared to park on roadside.
- Sarah (10/5): Fantastic guest house - Handy location, great facilities, would definitely recommend and come again. First time using booking.com so was a little unsure but very happy. Was a little noisy at 4,30 - 6 am when my neighbours were getting up and going out!
Shower could have been more powerful.
- Victoria (8/5): Perfectly placed! Lovely views, warm, clean and tidy. Great facilities to be self sufficient. - Easy check. Very clear instructions.
Room was ideal. Loved having the fridge and microwave facility.
Perfect town centre location The bar below was noisy, I brought ear plugs.
Car park tiny and other guests had parked in a way that wasted space and more cars could definitely have fitted in. Hard to fix on the day.
- matthew (10/5): Exactly what the doctor ordered. - Convenient location, simple, clean and great value for money.
- Margaret (8/5): Just what was required for an overnight stop. - Very helpful and understanding manager who was responsive in sorting our access issue also with help from local hotel staff who were not officially open at the time. Ensuite was in need of a bit of tlc and a thorough clean in places
- Craig (9/5): - Good size room, off street parking Mugs as well as cups would be nice
- Nikki (10/5): - Perfect every think easy to follow and great clean thank you for lovely stay
- Matthew (9/5): - Perfect location , managed to use car park No breakfast available, but plenty of cafes & pubs close
- Buddhika (4/5): - Close to the mountain railway It was not properly cleaned
- Joseph (8/5): After a long day of hiking it was nice to come back somewhere warm and comfy with good food and that’s exactly what we g - Good value, comfortable and warm with car park space, adjustable radiators and all the essentials. The food was phenomenal. Spotted a bit of black mould
- John (8/5): - Great location - 500 yards to the Snowden footpath. Clean and tidy. A bit basic. DIY check in.
- Alan (8/5): Llanberis stay. - Excellent facilities and food. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Will definitely stay again when in the area. Can't fault any of the stay.
- Terry (5/5): Not worth it this time - The location...... thats it this time Ive stayed here before back in May, in a twin room, which was perfect. This time I was in a double, the pillow cases were dirty, the bed itself EXTREMELY uncomfortable, the matress was horrid, a horrendous plastic undersheet under the main sheet that made bed really sweaty against your skin. Just what we needed after a 6hr drive, then 12hrs in the mountains and a 6hr drive home. Doubt we got 6 hours sleep the whole weekend. The bathroom was dirty and the shower would change from ice cold to boiling hot when you were using it.
Im actually gutted as this property was so amazing in the summer but this visit, with my partner. Horrendous for the amount we paid.
- sacha (8/5): -
- Ladislav (10/5): - Ubytování naprosto parádní 👍🏼
- Sarah (9/5): Would stay here again - It had everything we needed. We had a lovely stay, really comfortable. We had a good hearty meal there and the staff were very polite and welcoming. It was just afew minutes walk to the Llanberis path. Ideal location!
- Paul (8/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): Enjoyable few days. Thank you very much. - Close to all amenities. Friendly staff and great to have off street parking. The toilet is too close to the door.
- Josh (9/5): Great value for money. I would definitely stay again! - Looked exactly the photos. Check-in and check-out was smooth and without issue. Provided a mini fridge which I wasn’t expecting (bonus!). Very comfortable bed. Nice big window that allowed lots of natural light in.
- Kyle (9/5): Perfect stay. Nothing really to say, just thank you - Great location.
A cosy room that’s clearly been well looked after Bathroom is very compact. But it didn’t really bother me, just something I noticed
- McFarlane (9/5): Great location and clean and tidy - The location was great, just a short walk from the sherpa bus interchange and mountain railway.
Accommodation was very clean and tidy.
Check in process was nice and easy.
- Shayler (7/5): -
- Chris (9/5): Not the first time I have stayed here & won’t be the last. - Great communication
Great location
The restaurant serves excellent food
Walking distance to the start of the llanberis path.
Not the first time I have stayed here & won’t be the last.
- Beatriz (9/5): Really good place - The location was perfect, in the middle of all places of interest, with a pub in the same building and a store just in front, but the room was indeed very quiet.
The room was perfectly clean and very comfortable, with enough space, a table with a kettle and space to read or work, a comfortable armchair, and a great window letting lots of natural light enter. It also had power sockets near the bed, hairdryer, clothes hangers and space for bags or suitcase, TV...
The place is not wheelchair accessible, but it can be accessible for people with reduced mobility that don't need a wheelchair. All rooms are in the first floor, so apart from a step at the entrance, there is only a flight of even and wide enough steps (see photos) with proper handrail on one side and a wall-attached one in the other. The friendly staff also sent me pictures beforehand when I asked. I didn't have any problem at all, I loved my stay.
- Ian (8/5): - Location is exceptional The room wasn't cleaned at any time during our stay and the towels were not changed as well.
- Tracey (10/5): Perfect for what we wanted, good price, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. - It is brilliant for the Snowden trains, easy to find due to its colour, beautifully clean and the owner was so helpful, I needed extra pillows and he brought them down to us. Our room was lovely and cosy, immaculate, well equipped and brilliant for our stay. The toilet/shower is quite narrow but again spotless. The pub below the rooms served an excellent menu and was very popular with visitors, guests and local regulars who were very welcoming. Had a lovely time there and would definitely go back - and added bonus has to be the Mommy sheep and lambs who were walking about. There was nothing we didn’t like, it was perfect for our 2 day stay, ideal for me as I have mobility issues, very central, the rooms are upstairs but if you can manage a flight of stairs with solid banisters you’ll be fine. I took my mobility scooter and was able to keep it in the car which we parked by the side of the building. There was space in the hall to park it if necessary.
- Jayne (9/5): -
- Olesia (8/5): - Amazing location, we started our hikes right from the door and the bus stop right by it for further adventures. Perfect for just nights sleep for those who explore during the day. Mattress was not great and while first night was fine, after a few days of hiking our backs felt it.
- Stewart (9/5): -
- Jason (8/5): Ubicación - Buena ubicación
- Kim (9/5): 3 nights stay for 2 days of hiking - The room was really clean, and very convenient with a drying rack for wet clothes and a fridge inside the small room. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the bar staff were sound. A real locals pub, so you know it's good...but it was still quiet in the evenings. The pub/restaurant was closed on Monday when I arrived. If I was being picky, I'd say the lampshade was a bit annoying because it was open so I was constantly blinded by the light bulb.
- Aarush (6/5): -
- Donna (7/5): It was ok - It was situated well in the village and near the starting point for our climb up Mt Snowdon No staff to talk to and the smell coming from the kitchen below our room.
Maps of Mt Snowdon routes would be very popular
- Joseph (9/5): Very nice, overall. - Location
Clean room, amenities
Spectacular view of Snowdon from room window. No reception, but that is ok, manageable.
Limited private parking, but again no complaints because a spot was available.
No breakfast, but many cafes that open at 9pm right on the main road, a couple of minutes way.
- Stuart (10/5): -
- Filip (9/5): -
- Alfie (8/5): -
- Darren (7/5): -
- Andrew (5/5): - Very clean, very nice location, nice staff and good overall. Bed was so hard and so so uncomfortable. Mattress topper maybe? Also, no breakfast
- Sten (8/5): Used as a base for a Snowdon climb - Nice surroundings. The instructions for entering the place and the room without meeting anyone worked fine. Didn't use it but I noticed a microwave oven available for guests. Well situated for a Snowdon climb. I liked the pub. Forgot to check, but it seemed like there was a layer of protective plastic under the normal sheets. Slept well, though.
- Anne (8/5): Excellent location - Excellent location, clean and neat with nice mirrored furniture. Fridge in the room was a bonus. The bed was not really comfortable.
- Adriana (8/5): -
- phil mc cavity (10/5): -
- Jutta (8/5): - Zimmer zweckmäßig, sehr ruhig. Nettes Pub mit gutem Essen im Haus
- David (8/5): Henry and dad in Snowdonia . - Nice and convenient for Snowdon and kayaking on the lake It is what it is, a nice clean room with a good shower and toilet..
Everything was ok , maybe could do with more parking
- Claire (5/5): Location near start of Llanberis path is the only reason to stay if you don’t mind not sleeping. - Great location for the Lllanberis path up Snowdon. Not the best night sleep. The way the bed is under the window and style of curtain means that light from the street light outside shines right onto the pillow. Constant smell of fried food from downstairs. Passive aggressive note on dresser about guests stealing. No staff to even welcome you felt very impersonal and meant there was nobody to speak to about issues.
I slept so poorly the night before the walk I ended up checking out and travelling home late the same day to avoid having to stay another night.
It is was it is…a base to try and get some sleep before walking Snowdon, don’t expect anything else and bring an eye mask and air freshener!
- Sandy (8/5): Enjoyable - Location Could hear people staying in the adjacent room
- Sue (8/5): Loved it! - Location was excellent
Good value Nothing
- Ameet (7/5): -
- Alicja (10/5): Peaceful time - Location N/a
- Matthew (7/5): Great base for Snowdon - Location and price. Broken shower meaning we had to move rooms. Restaurant downstairs was mediocre.
- Kathryn (8/5): Great stopover for a few nights. Good value and well kept. - Clean and quiet no frills but perfectly okay accommodation in Llanberis, and a great eatery downstairs. Our room had separate toilet and bathroom.
- Pete (9/5): - Nice and clean
Excellent location No staff about ,but not needed really
Just nice to get local knowledge sometimes
- Jurijs (5/5): -
- Jo (7/5): Comfortable - Location and parking No towel or teacup refresh during 5 night stay
- Caden (9/5): -
- damon (10/5): -
I climbed Snowdon and I love Wales !
