Guest Reviews
- Sandra (9/5): Good stay this was second one - It has almost everything I need . Couldnt see a way of putting on any heating in the evening without contacting the owners .I didn’t like to disturb them ,especially in the evening… .
- Sandra (8/5): Good - It had everything that I needed It was peaceful
- Little (7/5): -
- Ellen (5/5): It’s an experience but not something for longer than 3 nights - Had a split door to maintain some privacy when we were sat on the sofabed. Like the idea of a split level sleeping arrangement but the upper level needed more A/C and maybe a skylight window to avoid feeling clostraphobic. Lovely area. Far too small for a family of 4. Two adults and two children. We were on top of each other. Very hard to cook any sort of meal with just a microwave so we had every meal out. Photos are very misleading, I thought the two doors were one property which likely would have made the whole experience nicer and more spacious. Photos are a complete mixer of both properties. The right hand side didn’t get a view of the fields with the cows. The mattress for both beds was far too thin and very uncomfortable.
- Kyriakos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tubman (10/5): A very friendly quiet clean and comfortable stay - Friendly. Quiet location. Very clean and comfortable no frills but perfect for what i needed. Nothing
- Wayne (9/5): Beautiful little place - Beautiful cosy little place, it has the basics you need and fantastic countryside all around you.
- Farah (10/5): Perfect little retreat - Cosy, with lovely surroundings. My kitten was allowed to come at no extra cost. Liked everything!
- Tanya (10/5): Great experience would recommend, and go again. - Loved the personal space everything that was needed was there, ideal for peace quiet and comfort
- Richard (10/5): Pleasant and cosy - Definitely different but In the best way. Cosy and welcoming hosts
- Danny (8/5): Very good -
- Dave (8/5): Very good -
- Katharina (10/5): Dogfriendly quaint stay in stunning countryside - Very nice place, helpful service and welcome. Dogs loved it too. Our stay was short but lovely. Nothing.
- Christopher (8/5): Small but cosy - It's a nice quiet location with a lovely village and pub down the road. Spacious bathroom. Although small, there is space for a sofa and seperate bed. It's difficult to prepare any food as only a microwave and the bathroom sink. To be fair, the owners did warn us about that. The ladder to the loft bedroom is quite steep.
- Dora (1/5): Not worth the money. - The rural area. Very tiny accomodation, no kitchen, the garden is an absolute mess, the hosts are rude, not even saying hi, the accommodation was dirty. We could hear every word the workers were saying living next to us.
- Ducatifever (9/5): Easy stay with my family - Good Place to stay visiting the area, price is good considering UK costs, owners give you few rules to follow and everything is flawless Just a suggestion: write on the outside bins which are for paper or plastic or general cause every different country has different rules/colors
- Sarah-jayne (10/5): Peaceful rural stay with my dog, ideally located for the activities and work that I had planned. Loved staying here ❤️ - Loved it, the location was ideal for me - some lovely walks with my dog from right out the front gate (I have the OS maps app), quiet rural location, peaceful and had everything that I needed. Clean and nicely decorated. Hosts said hi and checked I had everything that I needed on arrival - lovely and friendly. Loved staying here ❤️ Nothing
- Carl (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Soncha (10/5): Perfect location and exactly as described. Very friendly warm welcome. - Exactly as described and perfect for our stay for what we needed.
James was lovely and made an effort to check on us and make sure we were ok and had everything we needed.
The downstairs bed could do with a thicker mattress but other than that everything was great and we would 100% return.
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor -
- Anonymous (9/5): Wonderful little place, great people, good value - Hosts were absolutely lovely and the rooms were great. Location is amazing. Very peaceful Room layout probably could be improved by replacing the big table with a smaller one and adding more facilities like a small kitchenette.
- Oli (10/5): Exceptional - Nice hosts.
Good comfy bed.
Good facilities.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - James and his family are all so lovely and helpful. Our car broke down and it was really stressful but James and Amy helped us the best they could and let us check out later so that we could wait for the recovery crew to pick us up. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable for a family to stay. We saw cows, chickens, hares, and wag tails in the field next to our room:).
It is genuinely a welcoming place. We would love to stay there again in the future.
- Jim (8/5): All good no complaints - Location was excellent, hosts were great, if you want somewhere quite this is the place.
- Sophie (9/5): Lovely little barn conversion - Fabulous location and was perfect for what we needed. The children enjoyed climbing the ladder up to bed. The children were allowed to feed the chickens and keep and egg!
Lovely and peaceful place.
Much better than staying in a big standard hotel room.
Lovely hosts. Made us feel very welcome and we're very helpful. The fold out bed was quite uncomfortable to sleep on but we made it work and was fine for 2 nights.
Bigger TV would be nice but not essential.
Hand soap for the sink as we didn't bring any. I suspect if we asked though the hosts would have been more than happy to get us some.
- Alexandra (8/5): Very good -
- Kristianputman (10/5): Exceptional - The entire experience was fantastic, the hosts were superb, I had just the right balance of privacy and attention. Very spacious and I would have stayed longer if they had availability in the days after my trip was scheduled to end.
- Jon (10/5): A little belter of a place! - Great venue. Great owners. Perfect. Nothing.
- Emma (10/5): Fantastic! Highly recommend! - Amazing location and perfect facilities. Host was super helpful and made a special gesture for my sons birthday which was so well received!
- Veronika (10/5): Amazing place, amazing people and super comfy beds :-) - The owner was lovely, let my kids feed the chickens and even collect and keep the eggs!
I’ve forgotten shampoo and when I’ve asked the owener immediately got me one.
- Nikki (1/5): Bad -
- Finley (10/5): We loved our stay, we were well looked after and Amy treated the kids to an Easter egg hunt! Perfect location and space - Superb location with parking and beautiful surroundings, so quiet and peaceful. Comfy beds with clean linen and towels. Warm and cosy at night. Great outdoor space, James let us borrow their picnic bench as the weather was superb! Nothing, it was exactly as expected and we’d definitely stay again!
- Laura (9/5): Quirky but perfect - The host was very friendly, clear directions/information before arrival.
Although the accommodation was small, it was a great use of space and we loved the quirkiness of it.
Location was peaceful, but central to both Newark and Sherwood forest.
We were able to take dog, at no extra charge. Lack of kitchen facilities, but I knew this before we arrived.
- Charaka (10/5): Relaxing and worth every pound I spent. - The ambience, the warm friendly nature of the host and the silence once night fell.
My 3 year old (he had his birthday there) loved the ladder and the bed in the loft. He also enjoyed observing the chicken in the hen pen. He discovered lot of new things in the farm.
James was the kindest soul. He bought us some balloons for my kid to play with which were left over from his daughters recent birthday party. That was very moving and thank you James for going the extra mile for us. More windows so we could see more of the farm at sunrise and sunset.
Directions were confusing a bit.
Suggest to include some farm activities in your site as well so that little ones from the city can explore farm life.
- Robert (10/5): Long stay in a small room that was just fine for my needs . Good value for money - I stayed at the cottage for three weeks waiting for a house sale to go through. It was really comfortable place. Easy to find and it’s a peaceful area . Hosts were delightfully helpful and welcoming . Highly recommend
- Jade (8/5): Very good - Hearing mice in the walls kept us up all night
The beds were uncomfortable
- Donna (8/5): Very good - Lovely location, comfortable and clean Nothing
- Phil (9/5): Superb - Located in a tranquil location, a bit off the beaten track, but that is part of the appeal of the place
James is a excellent host,
Stayed here a few times, so they must be doing something right. All good for me.
- Hannah (8/5): We had a lovely stay. Very comfortable and in a gorgeous setting. The hosts made the check in and check out process very - Very cosy and lots of character. Quite basic facilities, but suited us perfectly.
- Adrianne (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were really friendly. The cottage was lovely and perfect for what we needed.
- Phil (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (9/5): Comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. - Location is perfect!! Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Essential facilities provided and all in good working order 😃 N/A
- Matthew (10/5): We had a very nice and peaceful relaxing time -
- Dale (10/5): lovely space, beautiful views, friendly hosts. - The converted barn was lovely, compact & had
everything we needed for our short stay. There
were 4 of us in total 2 toddlers and 2 adults and it
was a perfect space. The host gave us chicken feed
so that my children could feed the chickens in the
morning & we were also greeted by cows at the
window one afternoon. The host also brought us
some teabags in the morning when we politely
messaged asking for them 10/10 hosts! our only criticism would be how remote the location
is but that is obviously not the hosts fault. That
was our own fault booking before checking our
transport route as we didn’t come with a car.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maia (10/5): Lovely rural location, lovely hosts - The hosts are the loveliest family! Extremely warm and welcoming. They even gave me a pot of their bee's fresh honey! The best part was the cows saying hello at my window in the morning.
- Tanya-grace (9/5): Lovely property, great hosts! - Location of this property is so beautifully quiet yet only 17 mins away from Newark Showground. You’ll have lovely stay as it’s on the same grounds as the owners’ property and they’re brilliant at unobtrusively checking you have what you need. They honestly go above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable stay. N/A
- Liam (10/5): Relaxing, romantic get away. 100% will return. - A beautiful conversion, had all the basics provided. A perfect size for a couple as had a relaxing area, eating area, mini kitchen area including a microwave if needed. Climbing up to ladder to the bed is definitely easier than you think, as long as your body abled.
- Helen (9/5): A most enjoyable short stay, good value for money and excellent hosts. - The accommodation was querky and was sufficiently equipped with what we needed for a few nights stay. I especially appreciated the yard for our dog which was secure. The aspect was perfect and there was a garden seat right outside the door entrance which allowed you to sit and soak up the evening sunshine.
- Raynor (6/5): passable - Location Lack of washing up sink
- Jennifer (9/5): Peace and quiet and beauty. - I find it so hard to ever go away as I do not sleep well at all and it makes me unwell. However I slept so so well here. Beds so comfy and so clean. Shower excellent with fluffy white towels. Beautiful sunflowers and surroundings. Really helpful hosts! It would have been nice to have some tea and coffee facilities (there is a kettle and mugs), did not realise you had to bring your own actual coffee. There was some buzzing from something all the time, also had to switch off the little fridge.
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
