• Leticia (4/5): I felt unsafe and wouldn’t recommend it for solo female travelers. - The room was organized and the bed was reasonable. I didn’t like the shower — very little water came out of it, barely enough to rinse off. Someone tried to open my room door during the night, which left me feeling completely unsafe and uncomfortable.

I'd have thought this would have been mentioned when I paid in advance for my accommodation. If I'd known I wouldn't have booked it and definitely won't ever do so again

• Jon (5/5): Cold - The room was cold because the central heating was switched off early evening, and the room is not well insulated, so it was cold by bed time, with no way of locally heating the room, and the bed covers were way too thin. I had to sleep with clothes on to stay warm enough.

• Carole (7/5): - The room was clean the bed very comfy the chap was nice and knowledgeable good location To many stairs very noisy the people above very loud there was a 20 pond charge for the carport that wasn't mentioned beforehand and an extra 50 pound which I haven't had back yet in case we damaged anything which we didn't won't be using it again as to many rules the milk was of so couldn't have a drink after driving from the north east .

• Turner (9/5): Old character building, fresh decoration, good facilities, clean & fresh. - Room was really clean and nicely decorated, convenient location for city centre bars, restaurants, etc. The bathroom was separate to the room, but was for private use. Some rooms do have en-suite, we booked late and had the last available room, but only a minor inconvenience, everything else was ideal.

• MARY (10/5): - Loved our stay, the room was lovely, comfortable beds, great night sleep. Everything you need is in the room, fridge, kettle with coffee and tea, milk and sugar. There is even a microwave and toaster which is very unusual for a hotel room but a great idea. The host was very friendly and explained everything in a lovely manner. I would recommend ths lovely place to anyone, it's close to everything you want in the centre of Nottingham. I would definitely stay here again. The only minor downside was the bathroom outside our room and always having to use a key, but it's not a shared bathroom, so it's only minor. No other issue..

I just needed somewhere clean and comfortable to sle - Everything was immaculately clean, in good working order, warm and very comfortable. There was nothing I didn’t like about the property. Although when booking via booking.com I think it’s a little misleading about the parking. It implies and you think parking is included in the price and your stay. Once you get your booking confirmation in small print it says you have to contact the accommodation to reserve parking and it costs £20. This is in addition to the cost of the accommodation.

Hotelier (Manager) refused access stating that they needed the card holders card and Id. As a company owner I live over 200 miles away, this was not possible, hence paying in full prior to their arrival. Manager accused me of using a "fake telephone number " after stating he had tried to make contact. I have no missed calls from any Nottingham telephone numbers, nor any voicemails or emails. manager was rude and obnoxious, terrible customer service and will not be boking their again.

• natasha (3/5): Disappointing with lots of undisclosed hidden fees they threaten you with - The bed was comfy and the location was ideal for what we went to Nottingham for. There's a hidden fee that they don't tell you about. When we entered, I was forced to pay a £50 fee which would only be returned if they didn't find any faults with our room after our stay. They also rang the day before to tell us if we didn't check in by a certain time we would be charged an extra fee of an undisclosed amount. When we arrived and had the keys, they told us they let in drunks that may cause problems as it was a Friday night and told us if we didn't use the locks they installed properly there was a chance we could be locked out of the room and be charged for the locksmith. The TV in the room didn't work.

Misleading advertising – the online listing stated “free parking,” but upon arrival we were charged £20. I’ve noticed this has since been updated online after I pointed it out, but we specifically booked this place because of the advertised free parking. There is cheaper and safer parking available just down the road. Additionally, a £50 deposit was required on arrival, despite the room being paid for in advance, and the deposit takes 5–7 days to be returned to your bank account. The Wi-Fi was also terrible and none existent at times, making it difficult to use for work or streaming.
• Martin (1/5): Do not stay here - I booked these for 2 young people who were down for a business trip they didn't stay at the property after feeling unsafe due to the host on the day. The host on the day was rude and very confrontational I don't know if he was having a bad day or had taken something but I will be requesting a refund and asking booking.com to remove them of the website. He snatched and grabbed at my female colleagues work card and seemed to want to start conflict. Sadly this put my 2 young people on edge and I had to book another hotel. I will also send an email to the manager of the property explaining the events word for word to ensure they are well aware of the events that happened that day

• Chris (1/5): Rip off - Meticulously clean and comfortable Far too many restrictions. I was hassled by reception 3 times prior to arrival on check in day. Not a welcoming start. Having to leave debit card details as surety against damages is not welcoming either, and now the property have emailed me to say the card will be charged a penalty fee for late check out. We checked out before 11, which is fine with all other booking.com hotels we've used, and we clearly were not holding anything up. The rooms are not cheap., and then to be charged extra without consent is disgraceful

• RealGem (5/5): - Clean room. At the back, so a quiet room, despite being in the city. Had a private bathroom with bathtub, so I did not mind that it was separate from the room. Comfy bed. Kettle, hairdryer, chair and desk. There is no-one on reception most of the time. You have to book with the property in advance when you will check in, and be there on time, or you risk being locked outside in the cold. The member of staff was not very friendly. He shouted the rules at me. No elevator, and I had heavy bags. When I asked if he could give me a hand with my bags, he said No we don't do that. If you accidentally try to use the wrong key in your door, it BREAKS THE LOCK! And you lose your £50 deposit, as they have to call a locksmith out. I have used wrong keys in life many times before, but the wrong key has NEVER broken a lock. So this is ridiculous. It didn't happen luckily, but when shouting the rules at me, this was pointed out three times! So I was extra careful to use the right key. I would suggest you check in with plenty of time to spare, as you have to fill in a form, and be shown all the rules.

When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman, he handed me paperwork to fill in, the thrust a card machine at me and told me I had to pay a £50 deposit. This isn’t in any of their terms of business. He then showed us to our room and stated that it’s an old building and to be careful with the locks, if they break, you lose your deposit.

The aroma of the feta and spinach pie, with flaky pastry and tarragon permeates the hotel and is irresistible. The unfortunate safety deposit that is refunded. It seems to take a while for the banks to process the refund of £40. Yet understand why they need to do this. I'd definitely return here.

• Tim (6/5): Ok - Excellent location. Although it's just a doorway opposite the Roundabout pub the room was fine.
• Michael (10/5): Not a bad hidden place - Overall stay was good, but will be ask for a £50 pending deposit but will be explained before entering the room about the use of entrance and room keys what the deposit is used for due to previous guest getting keys muddled up with the wrong doors and having to call a locksmith. The host explained the use of the shower by using a switch to get hot water and explained about just flushing toilet paper in the bowl instead of any sanitary products that may affect the deposit. Other then that the room had a tv, tea/coffee making facilities in the room, beds were comfortable. Location had a greek restuarant next door and had a nice pubs within walking distance and city centre was about a good 10 minute walk. This was at slant of a hill but was easy to get too. Trainstation was not too far either.
