• Marilyn (7/5): - Having a nice restaurant on-site was a bonus. The bed was comfortable and having a late check out was appreciated. We did not realise that the hotel was originally naval officer quarters. An alarm went off at 1.10am that was ear-piercingly loud, and woke us from sleep. Other guests were in the passageway wondering what was happening. There was no communication from staff about what was happening. When we asked the reception staff in the morning, it was shrugged off as a 'fault of some sort'. No apology for our disturbed night.
• Joanne (9/5): - Walking distance to city centre, quiet neighborhood, great restaurant and craft beer on site. Elevator was very slow and not always working. Would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues.
• Kostiv (3/5): - Ich weiß nicht, was ich sagen soll Das Hotel war insgesamt eine große Enttäuschung. Das Gebäude ist alt und die Zimmer sind extrem unkomfortabel. Unser Zimmer lag im 4. Stock, und die Hitze dort war kaum auszuhalten. Trotz weit geöffneter Fenster konnte man praktisch nicht atmen, weil alles komplett aufgeheizt war. Wir mussten sogar die Eingangstür mit einem Keil offen lassen, um wenigstens etwas Luftzug zu bekommen. Sonst war es physisch kaum möglich, sich im Zimmer aufzuhalten. Die Bettwäsche, Handtücher und das Badezimmer waren sauber, das ist der einzige positive Punkt. Aber das Zimmer selbst war winzig – man konnte sich kaum bewegen. Es gab nur einen alten, abgenutzten Tisch, keinerlei Komfort und insgesamt eine sehr unangenehme Atmosphäre. Einen Safe gab es immerhin. Auch die Lage fanden wir unpraktisch. Zwar liegt das Hotel scheinbar zentral, aber die Sehenswürdigkeiten erreicht man nur schwer. Entweder muss man lange mit der Straßenbahn fahren und danach noch weit zu Fuß gehen, oder man nimmt ständig ein Taxi. Insgesamt haben wir sehr negative Eindrücke von diesem Hotel bekommen und würden es nicht noch einmal buchen.

• Alicia_Ma (9/5): Piccola Oasi in Amsterdam - La struttura è fantastica e autentica, una vera chicca anni 70 in un contesto romantico, un giardino segreto con vista lago balneabile. I letti sono molto comodi e lo staff cordiale. Lo consiglio con gran piacere per chi ama il design senza dover spendere cifre impensabili. La parte in comune è bellissima. Affittano biciclette ma è molto facile e sicuro muoversi anche a piedi.

Il personale è abbastanza accogliente e gentile e le camere sono pulite. L’arredamento ti fa sentire un po’ “a casa”, chiaramente in senso positivo! L’unico aspetto negativo riguarda il costo… prezzi troppo alti! Però è anche vero che ad Amsterdam è davvero difficile trovare di meglio a un prezzo più basso.

• Virpi (9/5): - Sopra le aspettative. Posizione centrale ma tranquillo nel parco marittimo spettacolare. Abbiamo anche cenato molto bene e lo staff merita un elogio speciale- simpatici e cordiali. Il gatto Amy dirige i lavori con grande maestà. L'atmosfera anni 60, vintage. Non aspettate le finezze moderne ma immergetevi nel mondo degli ufficiali della marina militare di quel epoca e non sarete delusi !

Certes, légèrement excentré (quoique très proche des transports), mais en contrepartie, le cadre extraordinaire au bord de l'eau, avec la piscine naturelle, les saunas, et l'ensemble marineterrein si joyeusement atypique. Bien sûr, la chambre nous a plu! Il ne faut pas s'attendre à du grand luxe. Mais le charme désuet du mobilier et l'histoire de l'établissement rend l'endroit exceptionnel. Et pour finir, la gentillesse de l'ensemble du personnel dès l'accueil jusqu'au restaurant. Le bonus: la possibilité de boire un verre ou de dîner dans un cadre vintage et bohème. Un petit meuble dans la salle de bain serait bienvenu. Mais la pression de la douche a largement rattrapé ce petit bémol. Une chaine d'information en anglais à la TV serait un plus.
• Alexandra (6/5): Expensive location for what it offers, but in a good location. - Location was in close distance to the city points of interest. Bed sheets and towels were clean. There was on the floor an area for making tea and there were books as well. The lady with short black hair at the checkin was very nice and welcoming, making the location increase in points. Even though is an old building with history, i did not like the oldish furniture in the room. The room was quite small, that made me feel like a student again.

• Marita (8/5): - It's a lovely, quirky place, very popular and busy. If you are looking for modern perfection, this is not for you. The property has a large terrace where you can enjoy a drink and meal. I can't think of anything.

• Andrea (10/5): Es war einfach wunderbar! - Das Hotel ist wunderbar. Es gibt Frühstück, Nachmittags Kaffee und Kuchen, ab 18 Uhr Abendessen, Barbetrieb bis Spätabends-wenn man denn alle Mahlzeiten dort einnehmen möchte. Muss man nicht, es gibt so viele andere Möglichkeiten in dieser wunderschönen Stadt. Mit einem schönen Glas Wein kann man den Abend aber im Hotel auf bequemen Sesseln, Stühlen und Couchen mit Blick auf das Wasser ausklingen lassen. Die Lage des Hotels ist einmalig. Mitten in einem ganz kleinen Park, direkt an einem kleinen Grachtenarm, dessen Ende (genau am Hotel) als Badebereich mit Steg, Sitzmöglichkeiten und Sauna angelegt wurde. Wunderschön ruhig, und trotzdem direkt am Schifffahrtsmuseum und wenige Schritte (1 km) entfernt von der Centraal Station. Ich habe schon in mehreren Hotels in Amsterdam übernachtet - meistens um den Dam herum, dies hier ist jedoch das beste. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und genießen diese Oase! Die Parkplätze sind sehr knapp. Bekommt man keine Reservierung für den hoteleigenen Parkplatz, zahlt man viel Geld in den umliegenden Parkhäusern.

We were lucky to have been able to check in a little early as we were so tired… and enjoyed a great dinner, great breakfast, bike hire and staff were fabulous! Excellent location near city but in park on canal! What more could you ask for I can’t think of anything!

• SooWhan (10/5): 너무 조용하고 아늑한 숙소였습니다 - 너무 조용하고 아늑한 숙소였습니다. 아침에 새소리를 들으면서 일어날 수 있어서 특히 좋았고 스태프들도 모두 친절했습니다. 전반적으로 좋았던 기억들로 가득했습니다. 바닷가 뷰였으면 더 좋았겠지만 그 반대편, 공원이 내려다보이는 뷰도 정말 좋았습니다. 암스테르담 중심부에서 멀지는 않았으나 대중교통이 다소 애매합니다. 그리고 엘레베이터가 너무 느려서 짐을 옮길 때를 제외하고는 계단을 이용했는데 4층에 위치하고 있어서 쉽지만은 않았습니다. 숙소에 먼지가 너무 많았던 것 같습니다. 청소 상태와는 별개로 먼지가 좀 많았습니다.

Extremely close to the city centre, but far from the madding crowds. Love the homely vibes, water views and friendly cat. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and hearty. Thank you for a safe, welcoming and comfortable stay! I am looking forward to staying again.

• Helen (8/5): A truly charming and relaxing place to stay — I would happily return. - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Amsterdam. The whole place had such a homely and welcoming atmosphere that it immediately felt comfortable and relaxing. The café was especially cozy and warm — the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the city. One of the highlights was the beautiful outdoor garden and seating area by the water, which added so much charm to the experience. The location was incredibly peaceful and quiet, yet still close enough to the city center to get around easily. It really offers the best of both worlds. The breakfast options felt a bit limited and not especially imaginative or interesting. Overall the hotel would be even better if it were a little more affordable.

Every single member of staff was super-friendly and cheerful. It’s clean with fresh flowers on the bar, and murals on the walls. Our bedrooms were fantastic with double aspect views over the park and the canal. It was a great place to relax, both inside and on the terrace and the location was perfect - very quiet, but a short walk away from the centre of town. The hotel cat was delightful! Even the uber-slow, unreliable lift gave us entertainment! I can’t really think of anything we didn’t like. Maybe the alarms on the bedroom doors?

• Liz (9/5): Perfect, very convenient and lovely open space and views. - Lovely room, very comfortable bed, great shower, lovely friendly staff, very accommodating, plenty of spaces for relaxing inside and outside, bus stops close by, interesting building, mixed age groups and nationalities. Communal tea coffee making facilities on each floor. Only ate dinner one night, good menu and food was delicious, definitely restaurant standard. Would have liked tea/coffee making facility in the room, my room was very close to the communal area so wasn’t a problem. Had to ask for milk as it on a couple of occasions. The lift is slow, again not really an issue.

Quite good facilities, although building is old, but also historic. . Location is not the best, but is very good. Close to the Central station and bus/tram stops to the city centre. . Will be nice to have a small refrigerator in a standard room. . Elevator is extremely slow, but this is also a big advantage. So this hotel has one of best attractions in entire Amsterdam - The slowest elevator in the world. It's a unique experience to ride this elevator, really :-) :-)

• Sandra (10/5): Close to city center - Walking distance from central station and city center (~20-30min). There is restaurant and bar in pension. Bedding and towels were extremely clean. And not only them… Veeery slow lift. But good that it is and I understand that nothing they can do about it. But you can make better coffee. Easy to fix that thing 🙂

• Beatrice (8/5): Ci siamo trovate molto bene, se mai dovessimo ritornare ad Amsterdam lo terremo in considerazione. - Letti comodi, camera silenziosa con vista stupenda. Forse in sala colazioni c’è troppa confusione creata dagli ospiti esterni, che non alloggiano lì e magari sono svegli da un po’, sarebbe meglio secondo me dare loro un altro spazio.

• veronique (8/5): bon séjour malgré l'emplacement. - La pension est située dans le quartier de la marine ce qui donne un environnement agréable. La literie est de bonne qualité et les repas sont bons. La pension est un peu loin du centre (environ 30mn).
