Guest Reviews
- Steve (8/5): - Room was not exactly smelling nice, but room was clean and comfortable. The lodge was close to expressway and shopping. Staff was very friendly. I would stay there again.
- Shannon (6/5): - The temperature of the room would either be ice col or very hot. The tub didn’t plug to take a bath and dead bugs were in the barhroom
- Yuriy (10/5): - Clean room. Friendly staff
- Charlotte (8/5): - Friendly staff, and pricing, accommodating to our pets
- Karl (8/5): - The door.lock was not working correctly and the safety lock was missing.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible! - Owners (I presume) were not helpful, hard to contact- wouldn’t answer phone, bed was cheap and uncomfortable, wouldn’t let us cancel second night when we checked in on first night, AC was terribly loud, toilet wouldn’t flush without help, smelled bad. Even though they wouldn’t let me cancel second night there was NO WAY I would have spent a second night! We only got about three total hours of sleep!
- Sarah (4/5): - The first room we were assigned had spidets on the ceilings and mold in the bathroom on the ceiling. Very unclean, the room needed a severe cleaning. The second room we were given when wr asked for a new room was a little better. No more mold.
- Summer (10/5): - .
- Shannon (4/5): - We checked in at midnight granted but the gentleman was rude and not friendly at all. Our room had a fire detector hanging from the ceiling and not working, the tv did not work, the carpet was highly stained and the beds were super uncomfortable. I was pretty disappointed by the whole experience.
- LeeAnn (10/5): - Close to Hwy 67 in Fredericktown, Mo. Internet access was good. Quiet overall. I needed to get up very early to be somewhere at 6 am and able to get up, shower and out the door without any delays.
- Martha (8/5): - Clean, very handicap accessible. In need of some updates- rust around TP holder, etc Due to using 3rd party booking they were not able to refund one night when we had to leave early for family issue. Staff friendly. Convenient to that small town amenities.
- Samantha (6/5): - Would not come back or recommend to others
- Mark (10/5): - Easy to find. Quiet and comfortable.
- Bradley (6/5): - Everything was fine except the breakfast. It was a joke.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Water issue - The handle for the water for
The tub did not work. Was reported but not fixed during our stay
- Douglas (10/5): - G
- mark (6/5): - Advertised a continental breakfast, but there was not one.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - It was average, beds very hard..
- Virginia (6/5): - We thought it was decent and clean and definitely worth the price for an overnight stay.
Then the morning we left we seen the cockroaches in our room 🙄
- Verified traveler (8/5): Time at Madison County Inn - The room was nice. Everything was very clean. The bed was really comfy.
The staff was helpful and polite..
- Barbara (6/5): No Caffeine!!! - No breakfast cause they were supposedly shorthanded (not even coffee). No coffee pot in room. Clean and big sleeping area but the toilet, tub and bathroom door almost touched (you had to almost step into tub to shut the door and step out to pee then step back in the tub to open door). Soda machine not working but they did sell Pepsi or bottled water for a buck. I would have brought my own coffee pot and something to eat for breakfast if they hadn't advertised coffee and breakfast.
- Donald (4/5): - Continental breakfast was bad. Gave us Coffe made the day before which they microwaved. Cereal was old and pastries were not good.
- Thomas A (8/5): - Our stay was good.
- Nathan (8/5): Friendly get together - Had an amazing time with my friend and we said ours byes and here I go off to another one
- Debra (10/5): - I’m from Fredericktown originally and back for a visit. Excellent accommodations. I highly recommend this place for an affordable place to stay!!
- Gregory (2/5): - Had to have my first room switched there was a crack in the tub. Then my fiance went down at 8:30 pm to get spoons, the door was locked. She rang the door bell and they lady said she doesn't give service at night time. Wow!! $88 at night is way to much for this 1 star hotel!!
- Gregory (6/5): - Claims they serve breakfast starting at 7:00 AM.. did not open the lobby until 8:00AM. Still not even coffee. Very basic service. Serviceable to just spend the night. Relatively clean.
- Alena (8/5): - Good
- Trisha (8/5): - Madison Inn is a cute and cozy place. The 2 issues I had was the room I stayed could use a little deep cleaning and the other is when you send house keeping around please have them knock. On our second morning some man who said he was house keeping tried to open our door. If the metal security lock had not been in place he would have walked right in.
- Wes (8/5): - Attractive building, pleasant room. Breakfast selection limited (cereal, toast, muffins).
- Diana (8/5): Comfortable - My cousin and I stayed at the Madison Inn Lodge so we would be close to the Pine Crest Camp where we attended a camp reunion with people who were teens in the '70's like us. It was a comfortable, pleasant room. I believe everything worked all right and sufficiently clean. My cousin was a bit disappointed that the pool was not available (we stayed 3 nights in late June).
- Robin (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the rooms were plain, they were clean and comfortable.
- Michael (10/5): Nothing fancy. Safe and clean. - Booked on hotel. Com. It says they were pet friendly but no where during booking did it ask me if I had a pet so it was a bit of a surprise when I checked in and they charged me $30 extra for my dog.
There is a breakfast bar but it was not open when we left at 7:00 am.
Other than that it was good. Nothing fancy. Safe and clean.
- Billie (4/5): Not worth the money - Coffee pot did not work , no television channels , so so noisy . The beds are incredibly hard , one bar of soap so had to purchase some for the sink
- Porshia (10/5): - The manager and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Our car broke down while traveling to another state so we unexpectedly had to stay over night at Madison Inn. While our tow truck driver was bringing my husband to the Madison, my mother and I mentioned to the manager that our car had broken down, and he immediately told me that there was a mechanic shop next door, about 20 yards away. The manager even called the owner of the shop who was able to get our car in the next day. It would have been same day but it was a Sunday and they were closed.
The staff is also great. The manager’s wife also worked at Madison Inn and was very friendly. She saw to it that we had a room on the first floor which made things easier for my mother. I would stay again.
- Randa (6/5): Ok accommodations in small town Missouri - Average hotel. Clean. There IS NO BREAKFAST, despite that being advertised. Evening attendant does not know what is going on and told us breakfast was 7-9am. Hotel owner said not until they get a permit. Overall, adequate for the area.
Pool had a closed sign but we used it. It was clean and nice.
- Brittney (8/5): - Easy access to hotel. Friendly staff.
- Sherrey (2/5): - The room smelled like urin and the was a larg something idk what all over cushion of chair and down the leg. The tv didn’t work the shower was broken also and the door would not lock and the man at the seat is very very rude the place should be shut down disgusting and that’s nice of me to. Say I will never go back there
- Kimberly (8/5): Basic and clean - Hotel was clean and easy to get to. Our room had all the basics The bed clean but not very comfortable. It was only a couple inches thick and felt like a foldout couch mattress. Not what one expects for a King bed. Breakfast was a basic cold breakfast, fruit, cereal with muffins and bagels. Overall for a one night stay in this area it met our needs
- todd (8/5): Only pls e in town - Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was poor. Donuts cold cereal milk and OJ only.
- Robert (10/5): - Clean and nice.
- Brad (10/5): Nicest motel close to Johnson shutins state park - Yearly vacation trip to Johnson shutins. Love to stay at Madison inn. Nice, clean, quiet, new in appearance. Very comfortable rooms. Can’t beat the price. Very reasonable. Staff very friendly.good memories worth repeating
- Rebecca (6/5): - Although there was a decent breakfast area, when we got there, we were told there was no breakfast that day - we were not told that at check-in. The room was clean, except behind the bathroom door. The location is good for a visit to that area.
- Martha (10/5): - Nice place will be a repeat customer.
- Nicholas (6/5): - Very small bathroom.
- Donald (8/5): Elephant Rock - Room very clean. Bathroom was very, very tiny.
No breakfast, just coffee and pantries but we did not eat there.
Checkin was fast and friendly.
Eateries were close by.
Very quiet there
- Wendy (10/5): - Clean. Nice. Friendly. Fridge microwave &TV also.
- Anthony (6/5): - Arrived around midnight. Staff member at the front lobby was not friendly at all. Bed was extremely hard. Room was clean. Very small bathroom.
- Patrick (6/5): Not Friendly - The woman on the phone was not very nice and I will not book a stay there in the future.
- Michelle (8/5): - Stayed here for the 2024 solar eclipse. Only spent one night. Hotel was quiet, room was ok. Bathroom was very small. Could have used another blanket. Grabbed a coffee in the morning and the breakfast looked very simple with cold cereal, bread and some sweets.
- JoAnn (8/5): Lovely accommodating staff - Super friends and helpful staff. Room was very quiet. Perfect for what we were looking for.
- Frank (10/5): - The motel was quiet appeared to be in a safe area, though it did not offer a breakfast. There was plenty of restaurants in that area.
- Christina (4/5): Noooooo - Room smelled like ass. Everything looked dirty and unkept. Manager had an attitude as well.
- Stephen (8/5): - .
- Wesley (6/5): - They could use some upgrades but still a good hotel for the price
- Donald (6/5): - Operator should provide fresh brewed coffee in lobby for morning breakfast/check out. Coffee provided in room was instant. Not appealing. No other morning snack or fruit offered. A little “extra perk” would have been nice.
- David (8/5): - The Madison Inn is the only choice in town. They promised a breakfast buffet, but with only a couple of visitors, staying, it did not happen. There are some OK restaurants with in a couple of miles that serve good meals. I highly recommend Lisa Jane's Coffee Shop on West Main across from the Lodge. Nice ladies, good coffee and danish.
- Katherine (6/5): Needs a face lift. - Not many choices in this part of the country as far as hotels. This is an older hotel that could use new mattresses l, carpets, flooring, and linens. It has a lot of green space around it and is quiet. Across the street is Lisa Jane’s coffee shop for GOOD brew and muffins. The Depot Cafe has delicious food.
- Marion (8/5): - It is close to family when I go visit.
- Christina (6/5): Needs to pay attention to the smaller things - Everything was satisfactory except for the shower sucked
- Brad (10/5): Yearly Johnson Shutins trip - The rooms are extremely nice and clean. Peaceful, quiet, safe. Always enjoy our stay. Quality people stay there. Must know a great place.price is very fair.
- Megan (8/5): - We enjoyed a restful nights sleep.
- Barbara (8/5): - It was adequate for the purpose.
- Ogochukwu (8/5): Very good - Pleasant. Decent and reasonable
- Kevin (10/5): - Their staff was out going and friendly even when I got in late because I had car break down. And I even stay one extra night. I would rate them 9 .
- Jason (4/5): - Lobby closed in the morning. No continental breakfast even though one was advertised. Not even coffee or cereal. There weee bugs on the floor in our bathroom. Bed was uncomfortable.
- Anne (10/5): - The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Manager was nice.
- Chris (6/5): - Bathroom very small
Beds were hard and noisy
- Helen (10/5): - Check in was easy and quick.
- Lisette (10/5): - The Madison Inn was extremely clean and nice with an amazing AC. I was extremely please with our stay. I will be staying here again.
- donna (10/5): - The room was clean
- Brian (8/5): - Coffee or breakfast of some sort in the morning would be a nice addition.
- Sarah (6/5): - Hotel was tired and could use some basic maintenance, but room was clean and beds were ok. Examples are weatherstripping was missing around door and the extra door lock was broken. It looks like the kind of place that gets heavy use from families on vacation. Area was well-lit and we had no real safety concerns even with the broken lock.
- Robin (10/5): - Very friendly. Loved having door to outside so we could just back up to room. Clean. Great value. Centrally located.
- Samuel (4/5): - Convenient location for Fredericktown. Breakfast was lacking. Housekeeping could be improved.
- Zach (10/5): - Room was very clean, love the climate control! Great, hot water for showers
- Amanda (10/5): - Comfortable and convenient.
- Heather (6/5): - When I arrived I was informed of a different price from my Expedia reservation, I was quoted 91 plus tax and was told Expedia didn't charge tax. I showed my reservation did include tax and got an odd look before she charged what Expedia quoted. The room was nice and big, the bed was hard and uncomfortable, bathroom was crazy small. The TV remote was missing the back when I arrived, you'd think that wouldn't be a difficult fix before the next guest stayed. No breakfast because "covid numbers are up and they can't serve with such a small area and socially distance guests". I have no idea if that was true or not, but was bummed we had to go spend additional money on food when the hotel website stated it provided breakfast.
Overall I felt safe travelling here solo with a baby. We stayed one night for a funeral before heading home the next morning, I wouldn't be able to stay more than one night in that bed.
- Nicole (8/5): - The room was clean and there are a few places to eat nearby. The only complaint was the toilet kept running all night so i couldn't sleep.
- Angela M (10/5): Small town charm - This hotel is a hidden gem. Bed was amazingly comfortable, very quiet surroundings, and surprisingly well priced. Exterior was welcoming. Desk clerk was a bit brusk, but not discourteous. Housekeeping and other staff were personable and helpful. While the room was a tad out-dated and in need of a makeover, this hotel is an uncut diamond.
- Richard (8/5): - Only complaint was couldn’t use Bathtub .only shower, switchover handle was broken
- Wendy (6/5): The room served its purpose. - We were on our way to Branson and decided to stop and take a break from driving. It was an average room. No frills or anything special.
- Janet (6/5): - There was no hit water. Only lukewarm
- larry (8/5): - Only bad thing is the clicking from the plumbing
- karla (4/5): - The door wouldn’t shut. Smelled very musty. Just expected more with what I paid
- Tyler (4/5): - Couldn’t even get through the doors to speak to someone about my stay. Trying to speak to someone through glass that could hardly speak English. State they have breakfast but actually don’t. The beds are very uncomfortable. They are a very thin mattress tossed on a medal frame. The bathrooms are very out dated with not even adjustable shower heads.
- Ryan (6/5): - Bed was not good, plastic crunch sound on every movement.
- Cheyenne (10/5): Lovely hotel that we choose year after year! - We stay here every year while in town visiting our family and we absolutely adore the hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful, the room always has everything we need for the week, the pool is beautiful and so relaxing. I love the area, and the rooms seem to be recently updated as well. Can’t recommend this hotel enough whether you’re just coming through town or needing a place to stay near family!
- Jose Reyes (10/5): - Good place.
- Bobbie (10/5): - Great@
- Ruth (2/5): - We had a cockroach in the bathroom, we told them but they didnt seem to care!
Breakfast was extremely poor. Customer service bad
- Fred (8/5): - The staff were very nice, and our room was ready, clean and comfortable.
We appreciated the continental breakfast and suspect as they get into the season it may have a hard-boiled egg or some other protein added to it.
- Fredrich (8/5): - The amenities showed breakfast included. Maybe because of the season, there was no breakfast. Wonderful hosts. They made our entire family (which includes the miniature Schnauzer) very welcome.
- Marion (8/5): - It is located just a couple of miles from family, and I can go visit without worrying about anything. Price is fair and I stay there anytime I travel to visit.
- Darla (6/5): - The mattress was the ole spring mattress. Very uncomfortable. Only one blanket on the bed and no more in the room assessable. You could see a crack visible light at the edge of the door.
It was clean. There was no breakfast like website advertised.
- Clay (8/5): All fine - Fair. Room was clean and big. Cold with no thermostat control. No tub drain. No breakfast.
- Richard (4/5): - The owner of this property is a nice person, but they are severely understaffed-my room wasn’t cleaned the three days I was there. I don’t know why they are having problems with staffing outside of Covid perhaps. What I know is, they don’t have regular housekeeping, rooms are run down and are average.
The location is right on a decent main road and they keep it as clean as possible, all things considered.
This is as bare bones as you get and don’t expect them to even answer the phones or be at the front desk because two people are running the place right now.
- Mary (8/5): - The room was very clean.
- Adam (10/5): - I have only positive things to say about my stay. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the area around the lodge was nice. Would go again.
- Greg (6/5): - In need of some serious updates and repairs.
