Guest Reviews
- louisewj79 (10/5): Warm & welcoming hotel - Lovely hotel. Incredibly welcoming, friendly, comfortable and clean family run hotel. A very short walk from the station so perfect if you don’t enjoy carrying you or your kids skis. Lovely spa. Owners went above in helping us. An incredibly pleasant stay and would thoroughly recommend!
- amand11288 (10/5): Wonderful stay it’s a beautiful hotel - This is a fantastic hotel for wonderful views and proximity to Grindelwald.
The hotel is fantastically clean. The rooms are immaculate and spacious and have amazing views with a balcony across to the mountains.
Wonderful breakfast with staff on hand to help.
Would highly recommend staying here. Just be aware there is a steep but short access to the hotel and I would recommend contacting the hotel just to check if they can help with luggage et cetera if you have any Concerns relating to mobility.
Would gladly stay at this hotel again

- Lindsey (10/5): - Room was clean and well organized, bed was super comfy and I really enjoyed my herbal pillow! Breakfast buffet was a stunning start to the day and all the staff were very helpful with questions. Spa area was lovely, be sure to give it a try.
Only thing I would have appreciated was a mini fridge in the room; as a solo traveler I had to choose my dinners carefully so I did not end up with leftovers and nowhere to put them.
Either way would absolutely stay here again!
- S (10/5): - We stayed at Hotel Caprice Grindelwald for four nights with breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and although breakfast was buffet-style, they offered specialty coffees and hot dishes like bacon and eggs on request, which added a personal touch.
Our room was clean, spacious, and had a balcony with stunning views of the Eiger mountain. It included a kettle with coffee and tea, which was great for warming up in cold weather, and daily bottled water refills. However, there was no mini fridge, so storing food wasn’t possible.
We appreciated the pillow selection, especially when my husband switched to a headache relief pillow that helped him sleep better. The hotel is in a convenient location, just a few minutes from the train station, bus stops, Coop supermarket, and restaurants. The free guest bus pass was a great perk for visiting places like Grindelwald First, Terminal, and Glacier Canyon.
There’s also a gym and spa, though we didn’t use them this time. Overall, it’s a calming and relaxing place, and we highly recommend it.
- Carole (10/5): - Just blown away by everything about this hotel and its owners. The location was perfect just a short up hill walk from the train station and central for everything we needed. The hotel is just amazing and we could not fault anything at all. From the room to the breakfast and the spa, all wonderful. And the views are absolutely stunning. Alexander, his family and staff are so helpful and friendly we would highly recommend and we hope to be back. Thank you for making our holiday so perfect.
- Departure732648 (6/5): Spacious rooms, convenient to the train station - Perfectly situated hotel, right beside the train station, which is very convenient. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. Tip: Ask for a mattress pad, the beds are quite hard. The view from the breatkfast room is fantastic, and the breakfast has everything you could want, though communication about what is available in the kitchen prepared for you wasn't clear. Arrive early, if you come at 955, there will be nothing for you.
The male owner is friendly and helpful with providing tips, the female owner made us feel as though we were an inconvenience to her. Less than hospitable, and definitely not friendly.
- Wai Hung (10/5): Closy family hotel - The hotel is slightly elevated and is just a short walk from Grindelwald station, making it both quiet and convenient. The room was spacious and spotless, and the breakfast was delightful, especially the sesame bread and cold cuts. The host’s friendly cat greeted us warmly and even played with us, adding a special touch to our stay. We stayed for five nights and truly appreciated the excellent balance of price and quality of service.
- Blayne (10/5): - Great location, really quiet, sauna is amazing especially after a long days of hiking. The breakfast here is really delicious with so many options, not to mention the view you get while eating. It’s close to the train station and Coop (grocery store). I would come back to this hotel the next time I visit.
- Reuven (10/5): - Buena ubicación, muy limpio, buen desayuno, excelente atención
- 387648 (4/5): Owner Alexander was not nice. - The hotel was lovely and the location beautiful but the owner Alexander made our experience less than enjoyable. He was unfriendly, unpleasant and sometimes rude. When we arrived I asked for ice and he made a judgement that "ice" water wasn't healthy (has he seen everyone still smoking in Switzerland )!He obliged in continuing to provide ice for me with no problem. Then two days before we left, my husband lost our Amex credit card. He asked us "how does someone lose a credit card). We really didn't appreciate that comment after we were already very stressed about it! We paid him with another credit card so he was fully paid. Then as we were leaving, he came out to our car and asked where our room key cards were. I told him I left mine in the room, and he asked "what about your husbands"? I told him I had no idea, and I opened the car door, because my husband was already in the car, and asked him where his key was and he told me he left it in his room. As if we would try to steal those little plastic room keys, I don't know what Alexander's issue was, but he wasn't friendly and he was very unpleasant. I'm not sure if he has a attitude about Americans because we are from the United States, but we will ever stay there again because of him. And may I add we were always friendly and cordial to him regardless of how he acted with us.
- catherine beatriz (10/5): - Todo hermoso
- Maria De Jesus (10/5): - Súper limpio seguro lo recomiendo un lugar precioso y con una gran vista
- Scott876 (10/5): Great location and stay! - We stayed here for 4 nights on our trip to the Jungfrau region and had a very enjoyable stay! The location was great as it was near the center of town, but up the hill. This made for a quiet stay even though we were about 100 meters from the train station. We had the windows open every night as it was rather warm when we visited and you would not have known that you were close to a train station. Our room had an excellent view of the Eiger and the valley to the west. There was plenty of parking as we had rental car. The breakfast was good and the owner and staff were very friendly. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance of the hotel.
We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Grindelwald and would recommend this hotel for families.
- Michelle (10/5): - Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The view is unbelievable. Rooms are clean, spacious, and cleaned daily. Loved all the little details like fresh water daily, incredible breakfast with a view, and an included spa experience you can’t miss. (Saunas, steam room, experience shower, relaxation room… magical!) We didn’t want to leave the hotel it was so amazing!
- David (4/5): - The rooms and property were nice and clean. The views were good and the breakfast was above average. We were on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. It was quite hot and there was no air conditioning. It probably would have been ok if they had screens on the windows, but there weren't and there were way too many bugs to keep the windows open so it was quite uncomfortable to sleep. My biggest issue was with the owner who has many rules and is always right there to enforce them. I spent $6000 for 4 nights in 2 rooms and didn't need to be treated like the 4 seasons, but also didn't expect to be treated like a working girl at the Motel 6. We arrived at 2200 after a long day of travel with 5 kids and he charged us extra for a "late check in." He was also not happy about giving each of us a room key and was clear on how we would be charged if not returned. There is 1 lame hot tub that my 10 yo wanted to sit in with me, but he was there to remind us no kids after 5. It was 6 and empty. We came back at 2300 1 night and he was right there to micromanage how i parked the van. The breakfast is included but he decides how many eggs you get. Etc, etc. Anyway, Grindewald is amazing and there are many nice places to stay.
- Karen Li Shien (10/5): - A very nice and warm hotel. The location is good, very closed to the train station, the view is good and very neat and unique hotel.
- Sujuan (10/5): - Everything is fine. The only shortcoming is that there is no AC.
- fernando (10/5): - Our room is clean, staff are very helpful.
The location is accessible .
The only thing that I don’t like is, you have to carry your luggage’s to the second floor.
How much more if you are in the 3rd floor.
If they have a lift, it will be perfect. But I love the place.
- Munakata (8/5): - I should pay tax by cash of Swiss franc, since I can’t make payment by card. I should go to bank to exchange my Euro to Swiss franc. It’s totally nonsense and time consuming. This system should be improved.
- FarAway37026997570 (10/5): Hotel Caprice - This is a lovely, truly family run hotel, very comfortable, perfect location, gorgeous breakfast, and very caring and professional stuff. Everything about it is perfect and I would definitely recommend it for skiing trips or any other trips to magical Grindelwald.
- Salome (10/5): - alle waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit
- tobyp330 (10/5): GOOD FAMILY RUN HOTEL/BED AND BREAKFAST 10/10 - We recently stayed at the Hotel Caprice for a skiing holiday recently and had an incredible experience from start to finish.
A short walk from the train station at Grindelwald we were greeted by friendly smiling faces at the hotel reception! We arrived early before our check in but were offered the option for the hotel to keep our bags while we go and explore the local town which was very helpful!
Our room was made up for us and we were shown to it on the first floor, our room was a standard room but came with an amazing view ! We had an ensuite with room for ski gear and a sofa as well as a double bed.
The booking came with breakfast in the mornings which was very nice! And serving staff were so attentive and polite, while we ate looking at the views, every morning Alexander came around and said good morning and asked if everything was alright.
*This means a lot to me as this shows family values at the heart of the hotel hospitality*

- Hotel has boot room for skis and other equipment
10/10 Will be recommending friends and family to stay when they visit!
- AliceSouthCoast (10/5): Family-Friendly Haven Near the Slopes - Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of fantastic! Perfectly suited for families, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Owners very welcoming and picked us up from Grindelwald train station as we had 5 bags and small children, on a very snowy/icy day.
The location is incredibly convenient not to mention beautiful—just one street up from the train station, making it easy to access. Plus, it's so close to town and provides excellent transport options for skiing enthusiasts. Lovely buffet breakfast included. Separate equipment room situated at the back entrance made it convenient to get ready for the day and drop off each afternoon before heading back to our room. Housekeeping were on point! As soon as we went to breakfast every morning we would come back to a fresh room!
Whether you're looking to hit the slopes or explore the local area, this hotel is ideally situated. Highly recommended for a memorable family getaway. Would love to visit again.
- Maria Fernanda (10/5): - We loved it, incredible service and attention, nice breakfast, rooms nice and clean. The only thing it was challenging was to arrive to the hotel through an slipery up hill street with the suitcases but we for sure will go back and absolutely do recomend the hotel.
- Jorge (8/5): - Beautifull place. The attention was wxplendid.
- Eduardo (10/5): - The owners and staff are so nice! The breakfast was delicious
- H9470TMjoannec (10/5): Everything here is amazing! - Lovely stay! Host Alexander is so friendly! The room was well maintained. Everything is clear, looks new, shower water is strong n hot. If u need hot water, request from Alexander and he will get for you. Parking is available on site for CHF 5/ night. Breakfast with a view, simple spread yet fulfilling. Just down the slope is grindelwald station. Convenient and near Jungfrau.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is very good because it is close to the train station. The view from the balcony is also very good. The breakfast is also very satisfying. there is no elevator, so it is a bit inconvenient to go up and down the stairs with luggage. Also, the bathroom is very small. Also, it is a bit inconvenient that the hotel tax is under 50 CZK and you have to pay in cash.
- Patrick (10/5): - Sehr freundliches Haus.
Gerne gehen wir zurück
- John (10/5): - You should be proud of you hotel and staff!!! Great job.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Swiss Charm - A quick walk from the train station. The hotel has Swiss charm while, at the same time, being up-to-date. Great breakfast and friendly hosts!
- Robert (10/5): - What a beautiful location and the hotel was just amazing.
- Janice (8/5): - This is a great hotel. Great location and near everything. Walk to Grindelwald First. Free bus tickets. Great breakfast. Rooms are spacious. Could use a frig in the rooms. We would stay again.
- talham964 (10/5): Great place to stay, I highly recommend it. - I had a great time staying at Hotel Caprice for 5 days. The hosts (Alex and his family) were excellent at ensuring that I was comfortable. They provided excellent breakfast and tips on local activities. This hotel is also extremely close to the bus stop (2 min walk) which made it very easy to get around to in Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen valley, etc. This hotel also has multiple types of saunas that allowed for relaxation in the evenings after busy outings during the day.
- allyalan (10/5): Excellent family run hotel - This is a three star family run hotel. Excellent property and the owners and their whole family is very helpful. My suggestion is to spend a bit more and get the larger room with a view of the mountains. Worth every dollar.
The breakfast is included and is very good. We really enjoyed our stay.
Just a couple of things to keep in mind. It is a steep walk from the train station to the hotel. My understanding is that there if needed the owners will pick you up. There are no elevators in the building and so not ideal if you have mobility issues. A couple of suggestions to make the hotel even more outstanding. Please consider putting a hot water kettle in the rooms. A fan during hot summer days will be welcome.
This is a really outstanding property. Away from the noise and bustle of hotels around the station with amazing views
- Mary Beth (10/5): - We have so many positive things to say about Hotel Caprice! Great location, great rooms, very cozy and comfortable overall, and the spa was an added treat. It was the perfect place for our family to stay while in Grindelwald!
- Bijeta (10/5): - The location is great with beautiful scenic view, especially breakfast place has the amazing view. Staff are very kind and friendly and in terms of cleanliness it’s super clean and they cleaned our room everyday. I would definitely recommend to chose Caprice hotel as there destination stay, you won’t regret it. Even train station is just 2 min away from the hotel which is very convenient. For feedback I would advise hotel caprice to keep kettle in every room rather than asking down in the restaurant. Overall, we had a great experience with my family. Thank you.
- Wendy (10/5): - What an experience! It was similar to a Bed and Breakfast because the owners were onsite but the quality of the rooms, the spa and sauna were like an expensive hotel.
- coupons2110 (10/5): Absolutely loved this hotel! - We loved this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone! The location of this hotel is perfect - its very close to the station but its in a quiet area. Its also super close to the main st in town and the grocery store so you can walk everywhere. The walk to the hotel is a bit steep but its not crazy and u can def roll your suitcase up to it. The rooms and the entire hotel is extremely clean and the view from our room was just breathtaking. Alex the owner is amazing! He will give you honest and helpful answers to all your ques. If we could go back and spend more time here we would do it.
- KHALIFA (2/5): Not recommended staying place - There is No ac and not Suitable for GCC for the people from arabian gulf . Room had a bad smell . not friendly staff
- MarkT498 (8/5): Swiss hospitality with amazing views - Wonderful small hotel with amazing views and excellent service. We had a spacious room that was clean and practical. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking right at the hotel (once you figure out how to wind your way up the steep hill). It is within easy walking distance of the main shopping area and restaurants in Grindelwald. I would come here again. Also, don't miss the breakfast!
- Nathan (10/5): - nice place, quiet and convenient from train station - only a 5-minute walk.
- Keith (10/5): - Beautiful property! Great view from our room!!
- JOO HYUN (10/5): - 위치도 좋고 직원들도 친절하고 스파가 가능하다는 점도 좋았네요
- 8 (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and the hotel had great views and facilities.
- Carolina (10/5): - This hotel was a beautiful boutique hotel of very high standards , clean, convenient, roomy, nice breakfast, great location and staff. Highly recommend it!
- lokanata (6/5): Great value stay - We stayed at this property for 2 nights booking 2 rooms last December. We arrived early and was told that the room were not ready. So we parked our car at the back of their property. Parking spaces were limited, be sure to prebook with them in advance. This boutique hotel was pretty charming and has views overlooking the mountain and the city. The hotel do not have lift so you have to take your luggage to the room by yourself. It is also located near to the Grindewald train station, very convenient for those who want to hit the mountain early.
The room itself was pretty basic, clean and comfortable, with a small balcony. The bathroom was a little bit small but manageable. The breakfast spread was good, with the essential eggs, bread, fruits, milk, coffee. There are two areas that we think might improve the overall enjoyment for future guests. We found that the people who run the breakfast (I guess maybe the owner) was a little cold and did not put a smile on their faces. The two nights that we were there, the people downstair (i guess maybe the owner) were very loud talking and laughing until pretty late at night.
We also booked for their outdoor hot bath, and it was an experience in itself. However, the area for the outdoor hot bath was not secluded and thus lacked privacy. The lady (also the reception and the breakfast runner too) who helped us set up the outdoor bath was really helpful, nice and engaging. She was a star.
Overall, it was a great value staying at this property. Keep up the good work.
- catherine (8/5): - We enjoyed 3 mights at the hotel and had a spacious superior double room. It opened onto a massive roof terrace. The hotel has a lovely family vibe and the staff was very firendly. 2 minute walk down to the train station made the hotel a convenient place to stay in. And thats what you pay for, the convenience of being so close to town. However i wouldn't say that the hotel is good value for money. It is quite expensive per night with basic facilities. They do mention there are no kettles or coffee machines in the rooms, but at this price, you would expect one or the other as well as free parking. You have to pay ch5 a day for parkkng. I was mostly disappointed by the cleaning charge for dogs, ch50 is extremely expensive considering my dog made absolutely no mess. Whilst the hotel is lovely and extremely quiet, i would opt to stay elsewhere if i am going to spend that much.
- Tayden (10/5): - Property has a beautiful view. Conveniently located near the train station and other shops in the vicinity. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Eric (6/5): - Average hotel. Nothing good nor bad stood out to me, but the exceptionally friendly attendant at the front desk. Not really worth the price we paid, but nothing is in Switzerland.
- Dennis (10/5): - - Super nettes Familien-geführtes Hotel
- Tolles Frühstück
- Super Parkmöglichkeiten
- Nah am Bahnhof, Zentrum etc
- Steven (10/5): Christmas in Grindelwald - We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas 2023, we were looking for hotel located close to the center and this was perfect, a few minutes walk to center and convenient for restaurants the train and bus station. Super clean, friendly and great value. Great views and a great buffet breakfast.
- Nicolas (8/5): Good experience, but some details to be improved - We spent a great stay at Caprice hotel. The hotel location is fantastic, à three minute walk to the train station and yet in a very quiet spot.
We stayed in an “Eiger View” room and the view is quite simply breathtaking. The beds were however quite hard for our taste.
The hotel offers a very nice breakfast in a breakfast room with a direct view on the Eiger and other mountains.
Finally, the hotel also has a great, very modern spa with two saunas, steam bath etc.
With all those positive things, and while the owners are very friendly, we were disappointed with the attitude of one of the owners, who at several occasions questioned us very bluntly as to “why we didn’t book directly” (that is, not with a platform). As if that was not unpleasant enough, the host at check out complained quite bluntly that we used a credit card instead of a debit card to pay the open amount (CHF 33), since “they already lost 12% with booking on a platform, and now we lost an additional 4%”. This we found quite ridiculous as 4% of CHF 33 equals CHF1.32. You would think that a hotelier would not blame their hosts and tell them they make him “lose money”…
So all in all, a good experience but the owner’s attitude and confronting guests with nitty-picky financial details left us a bit of a bitter taste.
- hsuehtsu (10/5): - Everything was perfect; 3 minutes by foot to Grindelwald train station and after running around all day it’s nice to have a decent rest at this tranquil inn. This family run establishment is truly a gem in this wonderful town
- retiredhaha (10/5): Wonderful stay - Upon arrival at the Grindelwald station, we hiked the hill with our small luggage, which took approximately 3 minutes and the check in was quiet smooth. Our room (226) is spacious and well appointed with traditional Swiss style furniture. Bathroom has a standing shower with good water pressures. The balcony with two lounge chairs has s Panama view of the town and mountains. The family run hotel is very cozy and everyone we encounter were courteous and friendly. We are glad that we chose this cozy hotel, the close proximity to the train station and plenty of restaurants in the town area. We have had great rest for the past two nights, which is essential after visiting various must see sights. We still have one more night to go before heading to Lucerne and we expecting another great night stay. Further, it’s really comfortable in the middle of September temperatures wise and sitting by the balcony having a locally brewed lager viewing the beauty of Eiger is a must.
- Lindsey (10/5): Amazing! - I absolutely loved my stay! There is so much attention to detail and it was just perfect!
- JimM466 (8/5): Nice family-run hotel - Hotel Caprice is a traditional Swiss, family-run hotel. It’s in a great location, close to (and up a short, steep hill from) the Grindewald Railway Station. We had no problems with noise. The husband and wife team, and their staff, are friendly and helpful. We had a deluxe mountain-view double room, which had plenty of space, an excellent bathroom and a verandah with a great view of the mountains. It was hot weather when we visited, so the room was uncomfortably warm at night, but the owners lent us a fan and that did the trick. The pillows took a bit of getting used to as well. They were big and thin and needed to be doubled over for a good height. The breakfast room on the 1st Floor was lovely and had a great view. The breakfast was good too. With the Aussie Dollar exchange rate poor with Swiss Francs, the value of the tariff wasn’t too-good though. It worked out to be $600+ a night. Yes, the convenience and comfort factor would be better if the rooms had aircon, a small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities, but the listing clearly shows the hotel rooms do not have these, so I don’t understand why people complain about it in some reviews. The only glitch we had was that we had arranged with the owners to pick us up from the station with our luggage but that didn’t eventuate, so we had to drag our cases up the steep hill to the hotel in 28C degree heat. It wasn’t fun, but we forgave them :)
- djet17 (10/5): Lovely family run hotel - This hotel was very cute and comfortable. We had an Eiger view room with a patio. It was gorgeous and spacious. The bathroom was new with excellent water pressure. The spa downstairs is really nice and included with the room rate. The gym is tiny (1 person workout room), but there wasn’t anyone in there when we stayed. The hot tub was very nice. The walk up to the hotel is very steep, but the view is worth it.
- Philip Baltunis (8/5): - The hotel is near the train station which was convenient for getting around to other areas. There was a little bit of a steep hill to get up to the hotel but it was only about 100 yards. I chose a single room; it was small but worth the price I paid. The continental breakfast had enough variety for me and all was very fresh. The hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend the hotel.
- BackPacker371648Gran (10/5): Superior hotel in wonderful town - Perfect in every way. We didn’t want to leave. The lady cation of the hotel was right next to the train station, but far enough away from any noise. The family room was large, with walk in storage. One thing that struck us every night when we came back was the freshness of the room, it was immaculate. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the owner was so pleasant and chatted to us every morning at breakfast. We will definitely be back to Grindelwald, and certainly back to this hotel. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough. It made our holiday. Thank you.
- Erik (10/5): - Good breakfast and very helpful owner. BTW, very close to train station. The building has superior construction and is attractive.
- Hijaz (10/5): - We stayed as family in Hotel Caprice, it was fantastic. The views from this place was just stunning, almost unreal. Close to the station, dining and so many Grindelwald attractions and cable car stations, just perfect location. Rooms were clean and convenient. Dining staff was very friendly and caring, gave a family vibe. Reception staff and service can be more friendly and helpful ( especially to tourists who have come from 1000s of miles away to visit their little town).
Overall I would do it again in a second! Grindelwald is just a dream town.
- Dong-eun (10/5): - Hotel Caprice is located near train station, so very convenient to travelers using train.
Room conditions were also very clean, and all the staffs i met were very friendly. View from the restaurant where we could get breakfast was fantastic.
There is no elevator like many other hotels in this area, but staff helped to bring up the luggage. In short, everything was goo except for price. You should not compare with hotels in Asia
- Assem (8/5): - Our check-in/out experience was bad in this hotel.
Our train from Milan to Spiez was late so we missed the last train connecting Spiez with Grindelwald.
We had to find a taxi to take us from Spiez to Grindelwald which took us a while.
On the way I found an email from the hotel asking if we’re checking in tonight and stating that they will charge an extra 25CHF for each hour we arrive late after 9:00pm for check in.
This wasn’t announced anywhere in the rules of the hotel or check-in agreement.
While checking out the owner wanted us to pay that amount of money and he didn’t like that I argued about it. At the end when I told him that this rule is not mentioned anywhere, he let it go.
Otherwise the hotel was nice.
Within Walking distance of the train station and about 3 minutes walk from the city center.
You’ll enjoy a very nice view from the breakfast terrace.
It’s a family business and the owner was informative and helpful (one night my brother was locked out of his hotel after midnight so he called the property and asked them to open the door for him)
The only thing that wasn’t comfortable in our room was one of the mattresses. It was too soft but the one on the other bed was ok.
- davidgX6343DC (10/5): My experience at the Hotel Caprice - The staff at this hotel is the friendliest, and most helpful I have ever interacted with. I immediately felt welcomed, like I was family, not a guest. My room was clean, charming, and very inviting. Alexander the owner, spent a relaxing time telling me about the area, and made a reservation for a wonderful Raclette meal close by. The hotel is very close to the train station, and main street, but quiet, and removed from the noise and hustle. Perfect!!
- sarahsW4468JW (10/5): Can’t wait to stay again in this beautiful Swiss hotel in an excellent location in Grindelwald - This is a classic Swiss hotel with very clean accommodations beautiful views, and excellent breakfast service. Staying in Grindelwald provided a location in which to access many of the gorgeous mountain sites and hikes in the area. We really enjoyed sitting on our little porch to enjoy the views.
- Lawrence (10/5): summer trip - Fantastic location, very comfortable rooms, great breakfast, and very friendly staff
- diana (10/5): - This hotel is a MUST visit. It is the perfect chalet with beautiful mountain views. The staff is also amazing. During my stay I was unfortunately a bit sick, the staff was so helpful in driving me to and from the doctor. They really made me feel like family and I really appreciated it. Thank you hotel caprice! Can’t wait to come back. Incredible hotel!
- Gerardo (10/5): - This property was beautiful and the views were amazing. The hosts were amazing people and very helpful. The room was very clean and spacious I would recommend anyone to not think twice about staying here I will definitely be back in the future
- Glenn (10/5): - Great location and we enjoyed the staff, and breakfast.
- Juyoung (10/5): very nice - very nice
- melissa (10/5): - Great location!
Comfy beds!
Good breakfast!
The views are amazing!
Highly recommend
- Cindy (8/5): - Good location, room is very clean and breakfast is good too.
The only down sides are - to get to the hotel there is a narrow ramp you have to get up and no lift in the hotel so if you have heavy luggages it will be an issue to carry up the staircase.
- Dennis (10/5): - Nette Familie, schönes Hotel, guter Service, tolle Lge
- Steven (10/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful.Facilities were excellent.Close to shops and railway.Hotel had a spa and sauna for a bonus.
- David (10/5): - Really excellent place to stay for walking around the Eiger. Beautifully kept, easy parking, 2 minute walk to the train, Fantastic breakfasts and the most wonderful view of the Eiger from our third floor balcony. Loved this place!!
- emo3030 (10/5): Good value, comfortable stay - Conveniently located near train station, and a short walk to the mountain cable car to Grindelwald First, COOP supermarket. Single room feels bigger in person. Useful bedside USB-A outlets to charge your devices so you won't need a plug converter, which is a huge plus. Decent sized desk and seat are comfy enough to do some light remote work.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy! - This is a very cozy hotel. We had a family room on the 3rd floor - it was spacious and smartly dissected with a balcony with a gorgeous view and a fantastic bathtub located in front of the bed. The hotel has a wellness center with saunas and a whirlpool. The location is fantastic. It is pricy but worth the experience!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel in Grindelwald - with a caveat - We booked a “room with mountain view” and were consequently slightly puzzled and disappointed to find out our room only had a very partial mountain view (one had to bend over to see a few mountains, that means no direct view from the middle of the room). We complained and the owner told us there was nothing he could do as the hotel was fully booked; he also refused any compensation and refused to acknowledge any of our complaint. We thought this was poor guest service and an attitude unworthy of a hotel manager.
After we involved Expedia however, the owner got in touch with us and told us we could be changed to a room with an actual mountain view the next day - which we did. This gesture was appreciated and saved the trip.
The hotel has a truly amazing spa, which is better than spas at some 5* hotels I’ve been to.
All in all a nice chalet hotel in Grindelwald.
- Verified traveler (2/5):
- Kishan (6/5): - Average hotel with very average breakfast, I have never had such bad fruits. Person can totally under that they dont want you to eat.
- Shek Hin (10/5): - Good location, staffs are very helpful and nice, the room is comfortable, everything is good.
- Bruno (10/5): - Sehr familiär, äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereites Personal
- cmh69d (10/5): A perfect gem in Grindelwald - Not only is the hotel perfectly located, everything had a personal touch from checkin to the room to the service. A family-ran hotel, the breakfast is exactly what you need for a day on the mountain. The spa at the end of the day makes it even better. The atmosphere here made my getaway perfect!
- Jacquelyn (10/5): Take me back to Switzerland - Downfilled duvets and pillows were a bedtime delight. Hospitable husband and wife and wonderful breakfasts, as well as fabulous weather made for a memorable stay
- CRAIG (10/5): - Super friendly staff. I appreciated that they accommodated my shaky German. I was very pleased.
- Inkyung (10/5): Good place - Good place with great service, location, clean room and magnificent view. I wish SPA would be hotter. Room is a bit small but manageable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just Ok - Our shower was faulty, couldn’t shower in the room and we only realized it at night. Owner could not fix it and did not offer to compensate us in any way. This hotel has no elevator so if you are not travelling light, it’s not a good option. However owner was helpful with carrying our luggages up the stairs. Wellness area has a small jacuzzi and that’s the only pool in the hotel. It’s cosy. Breakfast was great and they offer a good selection. We had a satisfactory stay but could be better if owner would have compensated us for the night without the shower which I think it’s rather unacceptable especially for the price we paid. A little gesture goes a long way.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is very good except there’s uphill and is a bit hard for pushing a big luggage
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location and room scenic view is nice. But too pricey since this is like a B&B
- kuni (10/5): - Fantastic location. Very close to the railway station and amazing views of Eiger. This place is really cozy and helpful. Brilliant breakfast. Absolutely loved it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly staff but room is old. - Service was good and friendly staff. However room was old and had moldy smell, we had to open the window once in a while.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location right beside train station! Very friendly people work here and it's a beautiful town close to so many hiking opportunities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel. Staff and owners very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent.
Downsides: Expensive and did not have access to coin laundry like other hotels in the area.
