- Leslie (10/5): - We made last minute reservations because our daughter was going to be in the Cashiers area for an event. We were VERY pleased with the Rose room in the Cottage. It was clean, homey and well appointed. We liked that the area was quiet and it was away from the hustle and bustle of town but still convenient to Cashiers/Highlands as well as Gorges State Park. We definitely plan to return!

- Verified traveler (4/5): Substandard and malodorous - When I opened the door, it stank, I had to air it out for about an hour, dank. The bed, while it appeared luxurious, turned out to be very uncomfortable, the pillows too, woke up sore and with a headache. The coffee pot was dirty, had old grounds and water in tank, for who knows how long, stank. Paint peeling in the bathroom. 1.5 to 2” gap underneath door to adjoining rented room, I chose to put pillows to block it, blinds are too small for the windows and you can easily see inside at night, curtains covered only about 20% so you couldn’t cover where blinds failed. Premium price, substandard property. Also, welcomed with a speed bump that almost wrecked my vehicle.

- Zygmunt (10/5): - This is a very nice rustic property, quite befitting the area of the mountains. Very easy check-in; the rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. A perfect spot as a base for hiking in the Gorges State Park and for other local attractions.

There are several good places to dine nearby. Some great hikes within about 15 minutes. We will be back here for another mountain getaway in the near future. Highly recommend!!

- Wayne (10/5): Nice Room near the Blue Ridge Parkway - Nice room in a 4 room lodge. Semi secluded room facing the woods with a small porch. Comfortable bed. Perfect for a one night getaway if going to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Very nice Italian Restaurant nearby.

- Nancy (10/5): - A true gem of a place to stay. Black Bear Lodge has a lodge with 4 apartments and an adjacent cabin. It was immaculate, the linens, towels and kitchen items (coffee maker, toaster oven, refrigerator, microwave) were all quality. Quiet with several amazing restaurants within easy driving distance. Parking was easy and free. Will definitely return for another stay at Black Bear Lodge.

- Karen (10/5): - We stayed four nights in the Rose cottage which was charming and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was spacious, clean and pretty. Much attention to detail was evident in providing amenities for guests in the cottage. The reason I didn't give 5 stars in Cleanliness and Communication was because housekeeping didn't come one day and the binder with information about local dining was outdated. Otherwise we were very pleased and have told our friends about it.

The beautiful bed canopy was custom made from tree branches. I'm 5'3" and had to hoist myself up to the bed, but there was a bed step available. 10 minutes from Sapphire Valley. Very close to excellent hiking to waterfalls. The only thing that needs attention is the bedroom and bathroom doors squeaked loudly. I would definitely stay there again.

We cooked several meals there and enjoyed the thoughtful details like the magnifying mirror, comfortable bed and the nice landscaping. We visited 7 waterfalls, 2 mountain hikes and roamed from Toxaway to Highlands. The location was perfect.
- Erica (10/5): - Amazing stay. The Laurel room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. Friendly and responsive staff came by within minutes to fix a blown light bulb. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved drinking our coffee in the bathrobes each morning! Eating breakfast on the front porch was one of the highlights of our stay. The road is a little busy but you can still hear the noises of wildlife and appreciate the beautiful surrounding forest. We would definitely stay here again, thank you!

I would try a different cabin next time but overall we had a nice visit the decorations are beautiful! Beautiful fall decorations outside enjoyed our porch on the cabin. thank you to the owners for a nice place & great service!

These cabins have a nice porch where we enjoyed eating our meals and quiet conversation. We would go back again.
